Hierarchy transport

What is the general Procedure to move heirarchies from Development to Quality ant then to Production ??
Is it that we make the links that the Hierarchy is extracted from the corresponding R/3 system
like from R/3 Hierarchy table to BWQ
and R/3 Production to BWP
or
Do we do a export kind of stuff from BWD -> BWQ -> BWP ???
What is the general Procedure ?? and please it would be really great if you can give some steps to do the same ???

create tranport - workbench req. - skip project name - note transport number
rsa1 - transport connection - collect objects - select pc - find the pc - move from left to right
grouping - collect necessary objects - hit transport bus with no bex
comes with a request - match req. number generated in se09
se09 - display request - req is modifiable in tree - select request - release task - release parent as well - get screen with status
go to production system - stms - click bus - choose bp2 - opens all transports - shows my req - click import icon ONLY my request -
import done - ready message.
check in rsa1 in production

Kiran Hierarchy data can be loade from source system, flat file or manually maintained in system.
since you have done manulally you can do the same in other systems also, but you need authrizations to maintain manually
I have manually created my balance sheet hierarchy using RSH1 transaction code.
you have do the same in quality also, since all required infoobjects are available in quality system, manulally create balance sheet hierarchy using RSH1 transaction code in Quality system.
check whether you have authorization to manually create in Quality system. you have to do the same procedure in production also i guess.

Is transport request required for Profit Center Hierarchy/ Profit Center Group and Cost Center Hierarchy/ Cost Center Group?
or else we need to maintain them individualy in Development, Quality and Production servers?

Hi Nilesh,
There are several ways by which profit center/cost center master data can be created/transported.
1. Export/Import the profit center/cost center groups using transaction KCH2/KSH2
2. Create LSMW for profit center/cost center master data and upload in DEV, QAS and PRD
3. Transport profit center/cost center master data using transactions 0KEQ and OKE6
4. Carrying out the entire excercise manually.
The decision of which way to do it completely depends on the amount of data to be transferred/transported. If amount of data is not much then manual route is preferable else LSMW/transport can be done. Also, kindly note that sequencing is important i.e. profit center master should be transported first followed by cost center master and hierarchies/groups should be created before master data is uploaded/created.

You cannot transport Hierarchy between BI system. you have to create them manually. There's an ABAP program to do this

Hello Jair,
Hierarchies cannot be transported. You have to create it in Prod and upload the data again. Have a look at this thread.

Transport DataSouorce Hierarchy (RSA6)

Hello gurus,
I am finding a difficulty to transport the datasource (RSA6)list from R3 system.
I created a custom node (say XXX) under SAP (main Node) in Tcode rsa6. And I assigned all the custom datasources to that node. When I transport the datasource to QA, node XXX is under NODESNOTCONNECTED Node.
In QA system when I open the datasource and say display then there is an error message "There is no Component by name XXX"
Can you please help me out onthis.

or run transaction se03 >> change object directory entry, in next screen, last blank line, entry object type DSAA, object APCO (or APCO_MERGED) then change object directory entry / package from $TMP to your package.
after replicate datasource in bw, you need to click 'reload tree', rsa1->source system->source system overview. also check note 534894

Solution
Create a transport request in the OLTP System and manually insert the following transport object:
R3TR DSAA APCO
As a result, the active version of the application component hierarchy is transported. The active version is the one you call from transaction RSA8 or from the IMG (transaction SBIW) -> 'Postprocessing DataSources'-> 'Changing application component hierarchy'.
If you want to transport the inactive version (version "D"), the transport object is:

Can Hierarchies created in BW be Transported

Hi,
I have created some hierarchies in BW & i want to take it to quality system through TRANSPORT ,can we take this to quality system ?
Also in my Production i am already having hierachies with same technical name that i created in dev system now as it was missing only diff is that in DEV system those hierarchies have diff range of accounts clubed like
say in Prod for account 5150,5160 we are having ranges like 51500-51509 & 5160-51609
and here in DEV i have ranges for above two accounts like 51500-51609 (it is assumed that there are no account between this range)So can it create any issue if TR moves to PROD ?
please advice on this ?

Your transport with queries will not fail.
For hierarchy transport
1. Try transporting your hierarchy using Hier type under OTHERS(more types). I never tried this.
2. You can down load hierarchy in to flat file and upload in quality.

Task Hierarchy deletion

Hi,
I have deleted the old task hiearchy in development and transported to production. Still in production environment some periods old task hierarchy is appearing and system is showing error.
Can you suggest some way to delete old task hierarchy permanently?

Hi,
Usually, the task hierarchy in ConsArea is configured as time-dependent. If this the case, you have to do the following in each period where you changed the hierarchy:
Put the cursor on the tasks hierarchy - transport. Tick all flags in the hierarchical structure creating a transport request.

Error Message in RSo2 Transaction

Hi gurus,
When I tried to view a Data source in RSO2 Transaction. It is saying that "There is no application component TRANSACTION DATA." I dont know what is that means. If some body knows if you could explain to me that would help me.

you may need to transport the application component hierarchy...
(if RSA9 raise request, you can release and transport that request) or
try in r/3, transaction se03 >> change object directory entry, in next screen, last blank line, entry object type DSAA, object APCO then change object directory entry / package from $TMP to your package.

Error when importing CO Hierarchies from R/3 DEV to R/3 QAS

Dear SDN,
I am getting the following error when importing Cost center and cost element hierarchies from R/3 DEV to R/3 QAS...
Object OSOA 0COSTCENTER_0101_HIER has not yet been imported successfully
Object OSOA 0COSTELMNT_0102_HIER has not yet been imported successfully
Ended with Return code ===8...
But The two hierarchies were available in R/3 QAS and also i am able to utilise..
My doubt is if i transport these hierarchies from R/3 QAS to R/3 Production any major issues...
Now i want to test a data in BW DEV from R/3 Production data...
So, I am planning to transport These hierarchies from R/3 QAS to R/3 PROD...
Here we do not have BW QAS...So, getting data from R/3Production to BW DEV and testing...
After testing Directly use in BW Production...
So, Please suggest me why when importing these hierarchies errors occuring???
Help will be greatly appreciated with points...

Could you please check the Business Location Type screen customization from SPRO.
Industry Solution Oil & Gas ( Downstream) >> TSW >> Master data >> Business Location type.

Hierarchy Analysis Authorization does not work after transport

Hi Gurus,
I am facing a issue in hierarchy analysis authorization in quality system but the same authorization works perfectly fine in development.
All hierarchy authorizations works in Quality except for this one. I found one old sap note describing this as program error but this note is not applicable in BW 7.3.
I have checked the table RSECVAL, RSECHIER and authorization is active so everything looks good. Please advise if anyone faced this issue after transporting hierarchy auths to other systems

What I understood from your description is that you have same role+AA in Dev and QA, which provides access in Dev for all the nodes for said hierarchy but in QA, same role+AA provides access to the same hierarchy for all the nodes but one. Try to create a ZTEST analysis authorization in QA itself with access for the problematic hierarchy node and see if it works ? This will rule out the case if there is a difference in hierarchy in DEV & QA.

Infopackage hierarchy selection from OLTP is not saved when transported

I have created an infopackage in Development that is pulling an available hierarchy. I then transported Infopackage to QA, but the Hierarchy, although is available from OLTP, is not selected in InfoPackage. I created a copy of InfoPackage in the QA system and selected available hierarchy. It allows me to select hierarchy, save and execute. The issue I have is I need to transport the InfoPackage, created in DEV to all QA and Production systems. The InfoPackage is not retaining available hierarchy when being transported.

Usually infopackage will not be transported but created in QA and production systems. If the infopackage is transported to QA, the pushbutton in infopackage Hierarchies in OLTP will bring the hiearachies available in the QA R/3 system. Appropiate hierachy can be selected and the same infopackage can be saved.
