Hierarchy View in BEx Report

Hi,
Is there a way in BEx Analyzer where the hierarchy nodes can display across rather than down? Each hierarchy node will be represented in a column rather than a row?

Unable to view transported BEx reports in Quality

Hi Experts,
We had moved two BEx reports from development to quality. The transport requests were created using the 'Transport Connection' tool.
The transport request was moved to the Quality system without errors (status 0), but we're not able to view the BEx reports in the quality system.

Have you collected the the report with all the objects and hope the infoprovider is already transported for the same.

How to view individual records instead of aggregated view in BEx report

hi,
i see my key figures as an aggregated view in the report. I wish to see each record separately. How can I do this? Pls help.
For eg:
In Cube Content I see the records like...
Material           Cost
M1                  1000
M1                  2000
M1                  3000
M2                  7000
In the Report I see the following...
Material           Cost
M1                  6000
M2                  7000

Hi Sebastian,
To get the records in the query result without aggregation,
1. give the characteristics in the rows and key figures in columns.
(or)
2. assign with a request number for each record, since no two records will have same request number, there is no chance of getting aggregation.
(or) are u using any DSO in ur data flow, if so remove that and directly map to info cube and see the result.

BO Webi report hierarchy with measure values showing more(almost double value) compare to BW Bex report

Hi,
In our BO Webi report hierarchy with measure values showing more(almost double value) compare to BW Bex report. Can any one please help on this.
Is it BW problem or BO problem?
I checked in some other threads but it's not given solution.

Product hierarchy is showing 'Not assigned Materials' in Bex Report

Dear Gurus,
I have loaded product hierarchy to 0material from 0PROD_HIER_LPRH_HIER successfully. In Bex report if i use product hierarchy nothing showing to me and it is showing message in one row like 'Not assigned Materials.
If i remove the Hierarchy i am able to see all materials in the report.
I have searched in sdn but i didnt get any help.Please help me in this issue.

Display Bex Report in Hierarchy manner (all levels in one column)

Hi experts,
Pls. help me in providing any possible solution to get the Bex report in a customized manner as all levels in the report should come under one column as tabbed format with out going for creating hierarchy externally.
i anm providing 3 example levels below to get some idea as i am not able explain in detail,
                    1. corporate (1st level)
                     2. company (2nd level)
                     3. Line of Business (3rd level)
normal output would be,
column1
corporate
column2
company
company2
company3
column3
line of business
line of business2
line of business3
required report
column1
corporate
company.

need the above manner in column ( all levels should come in one column in tabbed manner)
please help in any possible solution to get the required report display.

Hi Joao,
Technically, Description ID column in rpd works with prompt selection because where you will have to select "Enable user to select code by column" which brings sql with id rather than text as shown below
OBIEE, Endeca and ODI: Description ID column - OBIEE 11g
In your case you should go with new column with concatenation let me know if you have any difficulty in doing it !

OPEN VIEW button missing in BEx report

Hello!
When I open BEx report, I can see buttons for managing report. I can see SAVE VIEW, BOOKMARK, VARIABLE SCREEN, Exceptions and Conditions, COMMENTS, EXPORT TO EXCEL, EXPORT TO CSV.
I have SAP BW 7.0 installation.
Button OPEN VIEW is missing, although I saw this button in one other 7.0 BW installation. Why is this button missing?
On WAD reports I can put this button on report.

Is this Java Web or Abap Web?
Due you are on BW 700, I assume you aer using Java.
First, the Open View button doesn't exist.
You have to click on New Analysis and select View.
However, per I can see you don't have New Analysis button.
Ensure you are using the standard SAP templates.
Go to RSCUSTV27 and let all fields blank.
Then, re-active the 0ANALYSIS_PATTERN template.
This should works...

BeX Report with Hierarchy

Hi Friends !
I have uploaded the Hierarchy successfully. RSH1 showz properly ZIS_PH. I need to display this hierarchy in BeX report. But the hierarchy is not showing up. Do we need to do some include or exclude selection. In the properties, I have already selected the activate the hierarchy structure. Please advise which step is missing. Thanks.

hi,
You may not have the authorization to see the data for the particular hierarchy. Please ask the BASIS team to provide you with the necessary authorization. You can run the report in RSRT and after running open Tcode SU53.
SU53 will provide the information to the BASIS team about the authorization your role is missing.
get the auth and execute the report the data will come.

Unable to view report from Bex Report Designer

When I log on to Bex Report Designer, I click execute button, it is giving a blank page. It is neither giving any error nor any message. We have recently installed NW2004s and BI Cont 703. Now my problem is how to make report visible in the BEX Report Designer.

I have religiously followed your Blog. As far as I know any one who wanna setup BEx has to follow this. It is the one place where all the settings related to BEx front end were discussed and disclosed. Thanks a lot for your exemplary attempt.
Though you have mentioned about the .NET frame work I could not understand how it will effect the "insert" menu of BEx report designer. But i have checked that also and its matching with your recommendations.
My question is pretty simple. With sapgui6.40compilation5 with all the latest patches both for gui, BW and BI. Will i get the options of "Report section", "Report section based on Querry"in the "insert" menu of BEx report designer.
The mentioned options "Report section", "Report section based on Querry" were shown in the webnair of BEx report designer. Pls check the link:

We have installed and upgraded the system to spstack 8 and done all the settings. Our front end is also updated with the service packs. But we could not get those options. If you can give me your mail id i can send you the screen shots.

Security limitation of Bex reporting

Hi Gurus,
Is there a limitation as to what can be secured in BEx reporting in terms of securing data by individual infoobject eg. selective master data value level? Eg. I want to restrict this user to view the corresponding keyfigure values for all characteristic values except for those he is entitled to view?

My requirement was to limit the Leaf node, not the subnode.
My subnode is branch of a few leaf nodes.
I want to limit visibility of these leaf nodes to only a subset of the available leaf nodes.
A leaf node here is a characteristic value (lowest level). The subnode is just a text node.
I have no problem restricting by subnodes which are not leaf nodes.
Can a guru confirm if BW can meet this requirement.
That means to say, is there a limitation on the part of BW to restrict a hierarchy at the leaf node level? I have no issue with restricting by subnodes.

Concatenation of Data from 4 infoobjects into a single cell in Bex Report

Hi,
I have loaded ODS with the description data. The source system for loading the ODS is the flat file. The ODS data should be a replica of the flat file.
In the flat file, there is a description field corresponding to a particular ID. This Description is greater than the standard 60 char length. So, I had to split the description while loading the flat file using single line routine in the Transfer Structure.
So, while loading different the data, I split the description field data from the flat file into 4 infoobjects and the flat file data was loaded into the ODS.
Now, from the reporting point of view, I need to display the entire description data from the 4 info-objects into a single cell in the Bex report.
Please suggest a solution for this.

RFC connection Error While run BEx Report

Hi All
I got BI 7.0 and create new user with roles only access: TR: RRMX to see only BEx Reporting... I create basically new customize role and put only one transcation code RRMX and assigned to user...
When goto BEx designer I got that error
rfc error received user has no rfc authorization for function group syst.
I am not sure what kind of authrouzation user need to only view BEx Reporting...
But when I put SAP_ALL in that profile same user, thats works fine, but I don't want to give SAP_ALL to user...
2nd question same look like BEx Analyzer the side bar when I click open nothing happend and it writedown like German language..

I am Angeline again, I resolved that problem and want to shair with you guys....
1.     Tr: PFCG and click on Maintain roles
2.     Role Name: Z_RUN_QUERIES
3.     Click on Authorization Tab Saved Entry
4.     In Edit mode Select the template: S_RS_RREPU and adopt reference (Business Content)
5.     Expand u2018Business Explorer u2013 Componentsu2019
6.     Selected: u201CType of a reporting component Calculated key figure, query restricted
7.     key figure u2013 template structure and click on Edit
8.     Un-Check REP Query
9.     Generate the Profile
10.     Create Transport number
11.     click on user TAB and define user name in it
12.     click User compare and complete compare and saved the entry
13.     TR: SU01 in User click on Roles and define Z_RUN_QUERIES and profile

How to filter hierarchy node in BEX query designer

Dear experts
We are working on FI balance sheet with hierarchy infoobject 0GLACCEXT. Example of our balance sheet is as follow:
Parent Node A = 20
     Sub-parent Node A1 = 10
         Leaf A11 = 5
             Leaf A12 = 5
Parent Node B = 20
     Sub-parent Node B1 = 10
               Leaf B11 = 5
               Leaf B12 = 5
We require only:
    Sub-parent Node A1 = 10
    Leaf B12 = 5
So I filter those out in BEX restriction; however, after we examine the report in tcode RSRT, "Sub-parent Node A1" is not shown in BEX Report, and the result is as follow：
Parent Node B = 5
     Sub-parent Node B1 = 5
             Leaf B12 = 5
Are there solutions for us to show merely A1 and B12 ?

Try the following steps.
Initial Output
In this example I will restrict the query for only displaying Node 8603 and leaf 9000
Proceed to restrict the Characteristic. Please be aware of the difference between hierarchy nodes and leaf characteristic values. Also set the Hierarchy display properties to expand up to level 1.
Execute the query again:
Please be aware that users will still be able to expand node 8603 and see the lower level nodes/leaf. In order to restrict users from doing this set up users authorizations.

Creating Chart in BeX Report

I have few questions regarding creating Chart in BW Report. One thing I need to make it clear it's a simple BeX Report not a WAD report.
(1) How should I create a chart in the Report?? Should I have to create it in the Excel Sheet once I run the report?
(2) Do I need to create the chart everytime manually once I run the report or is there any way we can save it and everytime we open the Report it should display the chart automatically !!
(3) When users drill up/ drill down or group data in different views, the Chart should be dynamically changed follow the change in data set. Is it possible to do that??

BEx Report Performance with selection-screen input

Hello Gurus,
My Bex report is working fine when the report had run with out PLANT filter in the selection-screen but when report had run with plant in the selection-screen , report running for forever.
Please let me know what I need to do improve the performance.

Hi Saleem, Just a few thoughts;
1. Check the M-table in RSD1 for 0PLANT. In Table View edit any blank or null values. Run the same restrictions you apply in the query at Info provider level > Display Data. If there's any lapse; you can judge where exactly the problem lies.
2. If you are using Infocube & that your master is >20% fact; you can declare the Info object as 'Line Item Dimension'.
3. Create Variants. Esp. if you are running the query for same set of data. Try Variable Preselection: You can restrict both the values + varaiables in the filter level. When you execute the values will be visibly pre-selected in selection screen.
4. As discussed in previous messages, running a SQL trace using RSRT may prove useful.
