HIFI mode and Display just died? (865)

I think it was when I installed new Intel INF drivers by the MSI Live update function
anyway later I see my display is dead and - also HIFI mode is goone
What do I do know??

Try removing the powercord for a minute or two
if that does not help disconnect the connector to the front display for a minute or two.

A pretty common trick used on Biostar SFFs (which are even smaller than the 180) is to add two Zalman 80 x 15 OP1 fans to the side panels. Left panel toward the front and right panel toward the rear. This gives a good cross ventilation flow and when you run the fans on the low voltage setting-----it is totally silent---so you haven't added any noise to the overall setup.
Drops CPU temps 4-5 C. Might work on the 180. You can see an example of the side panel fans----as well as another possible solution, watercooling, here:----just scroll through all the pics to find the fan solution...SFF Fans and Watercooling

Is it possible for a battery to be perfectly fine one day and then just die

my black MacBook battery just died the other day, its an aftermarket unit that came with my MB I bought it used. he computer has been working great only issue is original battery was pretty worn so seller bought an additional and kept the factory one as a spare, however I'm having to use tha spare which is holding maybe an hour charge if that because the "good" battery laid an egg, suddenly and without warning, computer shut down and wouldn't come back to life till I changed battery for original one and the aftermarket battery now doesn't even charge, it will go up to 3 lights and after 5 minutes be back down to 1 flashing light. Is there an issue here or is this just a dead battery?

On flight right now and laptops just died... Pls help

I am on a flight right now and was in the middle of watching a tv show in iTunes. Then all of a sudden it froze on me. I put the screen down and waited a few mins. Nothing happened. Then I restarted it by holding the power button down. As it started to restart the only screen that came up was the white screen with the apple logo on, then the logo flickered between that and a circle with a line through it. Pls help I have a long flight ahead of me!!

It looks to me like my HD has died.
Sounds like that's a good possibility. It may be a long flight.
One thing you might try while you're on the plane, just in case that's not it: try to start up in Single User Mode and run fsck:

Mega 180 - Hifi mode and MP3 from DVD

Is it possible to play MP3's in Hifi mode from a DVD? - I know you can from a CD-R but what about a DVD?

24" LED display just DIED!!!!

My 24" LED display has been working without issue connected to my Mac Mini server, but tonight just started flickering (mostly black with an occasional split second glimpse at a blue screen then straight to black again).
I shut the Mac Mini down (held power button in was the only route). Reset SMC, PRAM etc etc, restarted but no image at all on the 24" Display.
I connected up a Samsung Full HD monitor I have kicking around through the Mini DVI to DVI adapter and no flickering.
I connected the 24" up to my 27" iMac MDP and. . . nothing. 24" is completely dead.
Anybody else experienced this or similar. Anyone experienced this and found a fix?
Apple Store tomorrow that's for sure!

Update:
I contacted my local Apple Store and booked a Genius Appointment (saw them on Tuesday- just passed- @ 3).
Genius was a great guy. Diagnosed the issue and ordered a new replacement unit, which should be here today or tomorrow.

My MacBook Pro keeps starting up in safe mode and then just before halfway through it turns off

I shutdown my mac as it was working slowly. The startup disk was almost full so I decided to restart it. Once I restarted it it was stuck trying to start up so I restarted it in safe mode. Now the safe mode bar loads about 40% then disappears completely after which the mac turns off. I have tried PRAM reset. What is likely to be the problem?

depending upon how full “almost full” actually is, that could be the problem.
You can try this, if you have Mac OS X 10.7 or newer installed, to see if it’s not related to your disk being almost full: boot your MacBook Pro into Recovery mode by holding down a Command key and the R key as it starts up. Once the Mac OS X Utilities menu appears, select Disk Utility. On the left-hand side of the Disk Utility window, select your internal disk’s boot partition (typically called “Macintosh HD”). On the right-hand side, press the Verify Disk button if it’s not greyed out; if it is greyed out, or if it reports that errors were found, press the Repair Disk button. Once the verification/repair is completed, exit Disk Utility and select Restart from the Apple menu to restart in normal mode. Once you hear the startup chime, try booting into Safe mode; does it let you do so now?

I was listening to my iPod nano video this morning.... And it just 'died'

I've pressed Menu, rewind, forward, play/pause and the center button so many times now it's ridiculous. I've plugged it back into the dock to charge, figuring its battery is dead. But after more than ten hours, it still shows no sign of charging, or anything really. It's just a black screen. I plugged it into my laptop. Still no response. And yes, I've check if it was locked, it's not. Hopefully someone knows what to do...

Hope someone can help! My phone has just died. I had this morning and using it fine and then just died, my sign of life, charger makes no difference. It was just in my bag, nothing spilt on it, not dropped, nothing! Literally just died... Help!

My HP DV9000 just died

Hey HP Forum,
I have an HP DV9000 and it just died, i wanted to boot up this morning, but it doesn't respond to anything.
No LED's come on, the power LED included, but the LED from my AC Adapter is still glowing. I also removed the
battery, but that didn't help. Is it still possible that the AC Adapter is malfunctioning even though the LED is glowing?
If not, is there any common known defect that the DV9000 suffers from?

One of the symptoms that this document,
Testing and Using the AC Power Adapter
deals with is:
"When the notebook is connected to the AC adapter, the notebook does not turn on and lights or LEDs do not turn on."
That sounds like the condition of the notebook. There should be some good help here.
And no, I don't know of any "common known defect that the DV9000 suffers from."

Has lock rotation been accidentally enabled within the control centre? If you swipe up the screen is there a circle with a lock symbol & if so is is greyed out or white - if white it is enabled.

Place the phone in DFU mode (search google) and restore. If this fails to work, then you'll need to bring your phone to Apple for evaluation.

MEGA 865 CD playback problem (in HiFi mode)

Hi, fellow MEGA PC owners
I have a problem with playing my CDs on MEGA 865 in HiFi mode. It recognizes the CD, plays the first track or two, then stops playing, displays SEARCHING message for a ten seconds or so and then switches to NODISC. When I press Eject button on the box or remote, it switches back to SEARCHING and shows the number of tracks on CD.
The same problem is with the MP3 playback. It plays several MP3s ok and then switches to SEARCHING and NODISC.
Does anyone else has this problem? Any idea on what could be wrong? I checked all Slave/Master jumpers, all are ok, the cd drive is recognized by the BIOS.
My configuration is:
MSI MEGA 865, P4 3.0 GHz Northwood, 1 Gb PC3200 RAM, NEC 2500A DVD burner.

I've got the exact same problem with my Mega180, also running a NEC 2500A! And it is starting to get very annoying...
I can play cd's for hours without any problems, when suddenly it stops in the middle of a track, displaying the NODISC message. Doesn't matter whether I use original cd's or copied ones, and the same disc can play through perfectly one day and halt several times the next. I've been thinking about replacing the NEC 2500 with something else but haven't got round to it as yet, however the post in the thread mentioned above states that different drives still produced the same error, so it's probably the bluebird chip that is faulty.
The mentioned thread doesn't really focus on our problem though as it mostly evolves around boot problems, so I don't see any problem with starting a new thread dedicated to this problem.
I might try the newer firmware, although there is no official word from MSI that this problem even exists, and I therefore doubt that it is solved. Not many people seem to have this particular problem either, or it appears so seldom that they choose to ignore it (as I have done for some time now).
Please report back if you solve this one!
