High cost of using iphone

I have only had my phone for 3 weeks and received a bill for $200.00 all i used the data for was setting up etc , what i would like to know can i use it without itunes as i only use phone for texts,calls, photos , if i take out the sim which is mine and use the one that Telstra sent with the phone will it work as i do not intend using safari or email or itunes.It is a 3g 8gb phone

In order to download anything from the iTunes store with an iPhone - music, video, podcasts, or 3rd party apps, you must select the item you want to download followed by entering your iTunes account password. If you don't launch the iTunes app or App Store app on your iPhone, nothing can be downloaded and no data used. The same with the Mail application, Safari, or with any app that requires internet access.
You can contact your carrier and request data access be disabled for your line/number at the source with your carrier. This won't eliminate being able to access the internet via an available wi-fi network if wanted or needed which has nothing to do with your cell phone carrier.

Recently, I have had a growing feeling that the avialability, meaningfulness, and ease of use of educational app on the iphone has gotten worse not better. In fact it feels like there are a growing number of specific barriers to education using the iphone. I would like to discuss one specific "barrier" to education--avialability in your country's app store by using a specific example--Einstien Pedometer App.
Back in 2011, the Einstien pedometer App by Kami was all the rage. This app like other by Vogt and Kuhn are important ones to me that I have found unavialable in the United States. Measuring Relativity not just calculating it is important for the iphone future, because phones are currently one of the few mainstream devices to have a guarunteed across the board GPS chip! Thus, unlike the innovations of Vogt and Kuhn, the Einstien Pedometer is a physics application that is only available using ones smartphone.
This is my tech support submission, which better explains why I felt this was a barrier:
What happened to the Einstien Pedometer App?
Back in 2011 there was a famous Einstien's Pedometer App by Kami. Recently as of February 2014, I found out that this app was unavailable on the App Store due to "unavailable in the United States". The android already has a similar app called "Proper Time" by N. Thinsell. I wanted to include this app as part of my physics smart phone laboratory series. Specifically, I have worked painstakingly to develop a lab so that students could measure special relativity time dilation using their smart phones GPS chip. (The lab is similar to the work of P Vogt and J Kuhn which is different from many of gimmick apps, which are only ebooks of text, not actual physics measuring devices.) The current unavailability of this app is simply another barrier to using iphones for education. This is why I am very disappointed right now. Incorporating Android systems into physics high school curriculum is easy; however, I have tried many times to try to incorporate apple products into the physics curriculum to no avail. It feels like with each successful year there are more and more barriers to using iphones for application-level understanding in physics education.

Going back to my example, so far I was able to figure out alot of things about the app developer of the Einstien Pedometer app--except there contact information. Besides prehaps seeking apples supports help in contacting the developer, do you have any other suggestions?

iOS 4.2.1 is the latest version of iOS for the 3G.
Facebook and Whatsapp both require 4.3 or higher.
If you want to use those apps, either use the old version that should be in your iTunes library or upgrade the hardware to a 3GS or newer device.

in short here's what you need to use it in the phillippines: a cingular/at&t wireless account and international roaming turned on. oh and about $3/min i believe (not including data costs).

Using iPhone in work environments where cameras are forbidden

All my colleagues and I have a common problem: We all would like to use iPhones in our Software company but our customers strictly forbid any cameras on their sites, which we visit quite regularly. They fear that someone could make a photo of a product which is not out in the open yet. As funny as this sounds this is a very common restriction in Germany.
Obviously we could use iPod-Touch as a substitute for the PDA functions of iPhone, but that would mean carrying around an iPod and a cell phone all the time.
Some of our customers are said to have contracts with cell phone manufacturers. The security personell offers you to destroy the lens of camera phones, which will be replaced by the manufacture when you don't work there anymore. I never tried that option myself though. I just bought phones without a camera.
I wouldn't consider this because it would void the warranty of the iPhone.
We asked our customers whether they accept some kind of seals over the lens, unfortunately they don't.
I was wondering if anyone else is having the same problem. Or is it just german companies which are afraid of photos of their products being taken.
Any ideas on how to solve this?

PS: I don't dare to hope that there will be an "enterprise" version of the iPhone without a camera anytime soon. Would be nice though.

I work in the commercial nuclear field and absolutely NO camera phones are allowed, period. This has knocked out many thousands of potential customers that could help drive the mac experience, in a field that has VERY few mac users. This is a real security issue and any field such as mine has the same rules and regulations. I suspect that soon many business will have the same restrictions.
I can use the new ipod but even then sadley I will have to either carrey it and a cheap phone at additional cost or just do what I am doing now and forgo a cell in the plants alltogether. Those with palms ( most dept. buy them ) have no cameras and no issues. If you try to disguise the fact that you have a camera phone it is a career change thing.

If you updated to iOS 6, you have a 3GS, not a 3G. The 3G can not run anything higher than 4.2.1.
Activation problems are almost always caused by one of 2 problems:
There is no SIM in the phone. A SIM is required for activation.
or
The phone was previously hacked to illegally unlock it. You can not get help here for a hacked phone.

I have read that usb hubs usually have only 1 port at a high enough watts = volts x amps iPads need 10watt = 5v x 2 amps so when you use more devices it may share the power so I would buy a usb charger with 2+ amp ports if you want to just charge your devices the computer hub are not designed for that just communication

I need to implement following scenario and i really need your help in this regard.
My active path toward Branch Office should be via 'CORE ACTIVE' and 'WAN Edge Actve'.
In case of 'WAN Edge Acive ' failure , I need to traverse that traffic through 'WAN Edge Backup'.
I used AS path prepend to implement this in BGP Configuration.
I want to Advertise OSPF routes with higher cost from 'Core Backup'
1) How should I do this ?
2) Is there any other better alternate solution which I can use ?

In the past, this is how I have accomplished this in similar situations.
Under the OSPF config, something similar to this.
distance 15 8.8.8.8 0.0.0.0 99
access-list 99 permit 10.5.0.0 0.0.0.255
access-list 99 permit 10.6.0.0 0.0.0.255
(15) = AD
8.8.8.8 = OSPF Router ID
0.0.0.0 = wildcard bits
99 = Access list to match
Note: This isn't always the best solution, but after looking at your diagram, this should work just fine.

In Greece Vodafone allows data exchange from tethering as part of the main data package which you get if you want with a subscription. There are various packages, currently one for 500MB extended to 1GB for the 1st year costs around 5€. That's actually added to the main phone package, so for about 40-50€ / month you have about 3 hours talk time + the 500MB/1GB data.
Don’t know whether you consider that as expensive or not.
Actually, before discovering tethering I never went beyond the 200MB in a month without considering the extent of internet usage. Tethering won’t really make any difference in the data exchange volume since my intention is to use it in emergency situations anyway.
