What IOS are you running on your Supervisor 2T? As long as it's 15.0(1)SY1 or later you should be OK. (Reference).
If it's not working with that I'd try reload of the ASA SM module (from IOS cli - e.g. "hw-module <module#> reset" and, failing that, "no power-enable module <module#>" followed by "power-enable module <module#>) while the new Supervisor is installed. Watch the log for relevant messages during that process.

  • CPU usage reaches 100 %

I took a screenshot from my jvisualvm. My CPU goes up to 100% in Linux 64 bit and sometimes it goes down back to 10% (mostly just stay at 100%). Can someone check for me where the problem might be ?

When it reaches 100% please see the threads which is grabbing more resources..even can do a top on linux to see if your process is the exact one or in concurrency with others causing issues..

  • High cpu - Rate-limit cisco 6500

    Hello,
    my device is cisco 6509.
    Explanation of the case:
Received to interface vlan (L3) 600M traffic (configured with Rate limit - 50 M).
    Result :
    1. 100 % cpu
    2. the traffic was limited to 50M
How can I prevent High Cpu in this situation ?
    Thanks.

I would suggest opening a case, or asking in a different forum.  This form is for discussion about existing bugs for which a bugid has been identified.

  • Which Transcation Lead The 'Max. CPU load' Reached 100%?

    Hello Gurus,
I've received our EWA report on Sep. 5.
It told me the CPU index 'Max. CPU load [%]' once reached '100%' on Aug. 27.
I want to find out which transcation lead the index to '100%' on that day.
But I still cant' find it out after using OS07/ST06/STO3N/ST06N.
Do you have any good idea for me?
    Thank you very much!

    Dear All,
Here below is SAP's reply. Just For your information. Thank you again for your help.
    ==============================================================================
    Hello Jason
We found that you using power5 CPU on AIX server with CPU dynamic allocation.
The CPU statistics of SPLPARs are not reliable within SAP standard monitors. You can not believe the current CPU utilizaiton check in EWA report. IBM and SAP developed CCMS transactions for monitoring those environments. It is recommended to use your Solution Manager system
(central monitoring system) for monitoring those environments. Please refer to the following SAP Notes and consider activating CCMS monitoringfor your SPLPAR environment:
    SAP Note Number Description
994025 Virtualized OS environments in the operating system Monitor

Install the latest version according to SAP Note 19227 - ?°Get the
latest saposcol?± on all your servers and activate CCMS monitoring.
Last Please Monitoring for SPLPARs is fully available if ?°Pool

    each SPLPAR.
In case of problems regarding set up the new hardware utiization

  • SecurityD process High CPU usage 50-100%

So the securityD process is using up a lot of CPU, jumping up and down but mainly between the 50-100% area
I believe this has come about since I first setup the MAC (My first MAC) and it asked me if I want to migrate my data from my Windows laptop.
I went ahead with this and it started copying the data. Unfortunately it took so long that the MAC fell asleep and when I woke it up, it was at the initial setup question again, as if I had not answered any questions.
I therefore went through and completed the initial setup questions without the option for transfering the data.
All seemed ok, except the data was not fully copied from the failed migration, so I manually copied over the remiander of the files
I since learned that the file permissions on all the files had two everyone groups, one with custom and the other with Read & Write, as shown in this pic:
I looked into this (could not just remove one), and a solution was to change the custom to no access and then the "read write" one to no access, which would make the second one disappear. However I could not do this for every file so I found a hand utility called permission reset which would allow me to reset the permissions on the enitre user folder.
However I still find files with the wrong permissions in the library folder and I can't just reset all the perimssions to the same, as I'm sure this would mess things up.
So my question is; does the migration problem seem related to this issue and how can I resolve it?
I'm considering a complete re-installation which I'd obviously like to avoid.
I have tried the disk utility permission fix, which does not resolve it.
Any info/help would be greatly appreciated.
    TIA

    Hi all,
I also had securityd maxing out my CPU.  For me, it was related to some old MobileMe/iCloud/syncing stuff.
You could see it in the logs blasting away via the Console app and going under the ~/Library/Logs/ to the ubiquity.log with lines like this several times a second:
    [ERROR]       60db2cff9f [12/01/31 22:24:34.541]  318.main createSelfSignedCertificate:52 error: Error Domain=NSOSStatusErrorDomain Code=-61 "The operation couldn’t be completed. (OSStatus error -61.)" (write permissions error)
[ERROR]       60db2efe92 [12/01/31 22:24:34.541]  318.main create_new_identity_unsafe:989 failed to find an existing identity and failed to create a new one
I was able to resolve it.  You need to enable hidden folders via Terminal and entering 'defaults write com.apple.Finder AppleShowAllFiles TRUE && killall Finder' then hitting enter.  '~' equals your user folder.  /Users/{user name}/
Moved my ~/Library/Preferences folder to a different location and then restartedAt this point the securityd process no longer was an issue
Logged into my iCloud via the System Preferences
Moved all my preferences back into the ~/Library/Preferences folder EXCEPT 'com.apple.ubd.plist' and then restarted
com.apple.ubd.plist is the configuration for the process in charge of syncing your iCloud stuff.  It was in a weird state from upgrading from Snow Leopard and copying my user from a Time Machine.
This let me keep my preferences and killed that process.  Hope this reaches some people struggling with it also!  Happy to have my battery life back... yeow!

  • Windows 7 Ultimate 64-bit Random High CPU Usage 80%-100% @ idle

I am running Windows 7 Ultimate and my specs are AMD Phenom 9550 Quad-Core Processor 2.20 GHz with 6.00 GB RAM. The computer randomly spikes up to 80%+ and usually higher than that and the computer runs really slow. Ived tried checking for spyware, or anything and nothing is found. This happens at idle and during normal activity. Restarting usually solves the issue but sometimes it doesnt. CPU isnt running hot at all, the drivers installed are that of Windows 7 installing at the clean install. I used process Explorer and found out it is:
    CPU
    15.6-20.10 Hardware Interrupts
    52.0-65.00 Deferred Procedure Calls
This is what is making my usage so high, even makes my idle @ 25 and this is when nothing is running. Normal idle is from 0%-10% max but normal is like 6% and computer was perfect with Vista. Upgraded about 4 days ago.
    Here is a screen shot.

    Any help is appreciated.
    Thanks
    Mike

    Hi Mike,
Yes, you can try Mark's suggestion as I noticed the similar issue regarding SPC was resolved by the hotfix.
In other case, you can also try the following steps to narrow down the root cause:
    Test in Safe Mode:
Restart the computer and start pressing the F8 key on the keyboard. On a computer that is configured to boot multiple Operating Systems, press the F8 key when you see the boot menu. When the Windows Advanced Options menu appears, select Safe Mode, and then press Enter. Log onto Windows by using the Administrator account or any user account with Administrator privileges.
If issue disappear in Safe Mode, narrow down in Device Clean boot:
    Clean Boot
    =============
This method will help us determine if this issue is caused by a loading program or service.
    1. Click "Start",and type "msconfig" (without the quotation marks) in the open box to start the System Configuration Utility.
    2. Click the "Services" tab, check the "Hide All Microsoft Services" box and click "Disable All" (if it is not gray).
    3. Click the "Startup" tab, click "Disable All" and click "OK".
    4. Click "OK" to restart your computer to Selective Startup environment.
    5. When the "System Configuration Utility" window appears, please check the "Don't show this message or launch the System Configuration Utility when Windows starts" box and click OK.
    6. Check whether or not the issue still appears in this environment.

  • CAPL browser shows that the .can file is write protected while it is not and keeps toggling, CPU performance reach 100%

The problem is when I open the CAPL browser, the CPU load increases to 99~100%, and the .can file I am editing can't be saved, and I keep getting the message "file is protected and can't be saved". This happened on multiple machines with different CANoe versions.
    I tested on these versions:
    8.0.36
    8.0.71
    8.0.93
    8.1.60
Randomly the icon of the "write protected" appears beside the file name in the file tab inside the CAPL browser, if I could press the save button while it is not appearing the file is saved, other wise I get the error message. The memory usage is also increases too much and then the browser stop responding.
Do any body had the same issue before? any advice?
Operating system: Windows 7 Ultimate 64
    AntiVirus installed:  McAfee

    Hi Allaithy,
Can you clarify how is this issue related to NI CAN products?
Anyway, here are some things to try:
Is this the file on a network? Do you have administrator privileges to this network?
    Is file set to Read-only?

  • 6500 - HIGH CPU UTILIZAITON

    Hello,
I'm having almost 60-70% CPU utilization on a 6500 core for almost a day now. However cant seem to figure out what is overwhelming the CPU utlization. show cpu process sorted does not provide much information with top two processes being 'slcp process' - about 2-3% & spanning tree process which goes between 1-2%. The major change in the network was introduction of Nexus 2232 (10G) switches in the DC which are connected to 5K with 20 Gb uplinks to the 6500. Now almost 20 servers are connected to this switch, but none of them are going beyond 1.5 Gb/s.
Any help would be much appreciated.
    Thank you.

    Hi,
Connecting 5ks to 6500 should not cause high CPU.  Usually, when 6500s are configured in VSS mode, the CPU runs higher. Also if you are running a modular code, the CPU usually runs higher.  Note that most newer IOS verions are not modular more .
Also, have a look at this doc for tips on troubleshooting high CPU.

    Hi,
'Oracle 9i' is not a version, it is a marketing label. Please post your full version number x.x.x.x
Also you need to investigate inside the database what is consuming the CPU.
Please refer to v$sesstat and v$statname. v$statname has two statistic items for CPU time being used. You can join both tables, and find out which sessions are consuming the CPU.

Well, I have this strange problem with 6500 and 4215. Everything works just fine, sensor is blocking and no real problem with that.
But, I get high cpu usage on my 6500 device whenever IDS is accessing it for ACL configuration.
I tried to sniff on this and I get this strange output from 6500 device whenever ssh session is established: 6500 is responsing one letter at a time (I mean one letter per packet), so it takes a lot of packets in order to this session to get accomplished.
    Here is a log from 4215 :
    "evError: eventId=1114377191440638275 severity=error
    originator:
    hostId: xxx
    appName: nac
    appInstanceId: 1162
    time: 2005/08/17 14:40:14 2005/08/17 16:40:14 Summer
errorMessage: name=errSystemError ERROR: Syntax error from invalid input at device [Cisco] IP [x.x.x.x] state [Active]Text from device:
    ^
% Invalid input detected at '^' marker.
    sw-01(config-if)# "
    Anyone seen this before.
Just to mention, regular telnet/ssh sessions are not cpu intensive.
    Thanks,
    Sasa

This could be due to very large ACLs and ACEs that you might be having. I wonder if there is a turbo acl ( as in pix) is there in IDS. If so, this will reduce the consumption of resources to a large extent.

  • High cpu when change "mls cef maximum-route ip" to more than 512K

    Dear All
From cisco document 6500-sup720 and 7600-rsp720 are support IPv4 unicast and MPLS—512,000 routes by default. On my network we have route more than 400K which nearly reach to the limit then I tried to change from 512K to 1007K as below.
    Router#sh mls cef maximum-routes
    FIB TCAM maximum routes :
    =======================
    Current :-
    IPv4                - 1007k
    MPLS                - 1k
    IPv6 + IP Multicast - 8k (default)
After rebooted I got high cpu issue on both 6500-sup720 and 7600-rsp720 then I tried to tuning to other value such as 600K , 700K and so on but doesn't help.
    Summary
       - I have no cpu issue with default value for mls cef maximum-route
       - I have cpu issue when tuning to other value such as 600K , 700K
    Please advise.
