High Distortion on WAVE in host port with 1010 PCIe

I recently upgraded one of my systems with a 1010 PCIe interface and 1616m dock to replace a cardbus/1616 system. I was doing RMAA testing on the new system and was getting really ugly distortion (approaching 1% THD). When the new dock was hooked up to the old cardbus card, it worked fantastic (less than .002% THD). I realised it wasn't the dock, so I did all the usual things, un-install and re-install the drivers/software. No Joy. Tried the new beta driver with same result.
I set up a new session with just one strip in Patchmix, wave 1/2 in. Then I added a send to wave 1/2. so, simply digital wave in and digital wave out... (seemingly) nothing in between. Played a wave file in SoundForge; 24 bit 48khz, containing a 1khz sine wave at -6db. This tone, when passed through a SpectrumAnalyzer has 2nd and 3rd harmonics at -150db. Patchmix showed that the tone was present at the input to the lone strip. Using the SpectrumAnalyzer on the wave output of the send, the spectrum looks really ugly and the peak level at 1khz is only 35 db above the "second harmonic", but actually the spectrum looks like a speed bump, not a high peak like a pole!
Has anybody else seen this?

I have seen noisy systems before.
Many things can cause them. The usual first step is to uninstall the card,
and move it to a new PCI slot and try reinstalling it there.
Are you running XP or VISTA, or Win 7?
Make sure your chipset is fully updated, especially and IDE and any system bus drivers you have.
Also make sure your sound and video are not on the same IRQ.

  • How to avoid dependance between output digital port with a PCI 1200 daq card?

    Hello,
    I don't manage to fix the state of a line on one port (PA0 for ex) without change the state of another line of another digital port (PB0 for ex)
    I use a PCI 1200 Daq card with Labview 5.0.1 (under Windows 98)
    How to configure a robust state (high logic level) on a line of a port??
    Does anybody have an idea on this problem?
    Thanks a lot in advance and happy new year to the community

    Hello,
    I've found the problem
    The PCI1200 has a chip 8255 for Digital I/O
    If I use the bad VI, it reconfigures the port and all the lines go in a low logic state
    so I'd to write only on the port or the line without reconfigure the port
    So the good VI in the palett is: Port Write and not Digital Port write!
    See attached file..
    Thanks
    Best Regards

  • 802.1x per host authentication under one port with multi-host access by hub

    Dear,
    While multi-host connect to one port by hub, it seems that in multi-host mode, after one host passed the authentication, the port change state to up, and the other hosts do not need to authenticate any more. And in single host mode, only one host could access to the network under one port.
    In the situation with multi-host access to one port by hub, is it possible that we could control per user access by authentication for each?
    We did some test on 3550, it seems that the 3550 doesnot support what we need. And what about 4506?
    Thanks!

    Multiauthentication Mode
    Available in Cisco IOS Release 12.2(33)SXI and later releases, multiauthentication (multiauth) mode allows one 802.1X/MAB client on the voice VLAN and multiple authenticated 802.1X/MAB/webauth clients on the data VLAN. When a hub or access point is connected to an 802.1X port (as shown in Figure 60-5), multiauth mode provides enhanced security over the multiple-hosts mode by requiring authentication of each connected client. For non-802.1X devices, MAB or web-based authentication can be used as the fallback method for individual host authentications, which allows different hosts to be authenticated through different methods on a single port.
    Multiauth also supports MDA functionality on the voice VLAN by assigning authenticated devices to either a data or voice VLAN depending on the data that the VSAs received from the authentication server.
    Release 12.2(33)SXJ and later releases support the assignment of a RADIUS server-supplied VLAN in multiauth mode, by using the existing commands and when these conditions occur:
    •The host is the first host authorized on the port, and the RADIUS server supplies VLAN information.
    •Subsequent hosts are authorized with a VLAN that matches the operational VLAN.
    •A host is authorized on the port with no VLAN assignment, and subsequent hosts either have no VLAN assignment, or their VLAN information matches the operational VLAN.
    •The first host authorized on the port has a group VLAN assignment, and subsequent hosts either have no VLAN assignment, or their group VLAN matches the group VLAN on the port. Subsequent hosts must use the same VLAN from the VLAN group as the first host. If a VLAN list is used, all hosts are subject to the conditions specified in the VLAN list.
    •After a VLAN is assigned to a host on the port, subsequent hosts must have matching VLAN information or be denied access to the port.
    •The behavior of the critical-auth VLAN is not changed for multiauth mode. When a host tries to authenticate and the server is not reachable, all authorized hosts are reinitialized in the configured VLAN.
    NOTE :
    •Only one voice VLAN is supported on a multiauth port.
    •You cannot configure a guest VLAN or an auth-fail VLAN in multiauth mode.

  • 802.1x multiple sessions with same LOGIN+MAC on single-host port

    We have 802.1x with radius server.
    c2960 configured to allow only one device per port with no Mac-Bypass and no critical auth.
    From time to time user seems to get multiple authentications on single port with single mac-address.
    So we get several sessions on port with the same login, mac (but different session-id).
    Command "dot1x re-auth int" doesn't clear those sessions. Neither do "force-unauthorized" or "shut/noshut". Only thing that helps is reboot switch.
    Happens with different users.

  • XML Publisher Desktop Db connect SQL Server Host:Port:Sid

    Brand new to XML Publisher. Set up XML Publisher Enterprise environment to work with SQL Server 2005 using both MS 2000 & 2005 JDBC drivers, so far no problem.
    However the XML Publisher Desktop Report Wizard will not connect to SQL Server 2005 using either MS 2000 & 2005 JDBC drivers. I provide the same data source name, user and pw that I use in the XML Publisher Enterprise environment but it is the 4th piece of information - the database portion (Host:Port:Sid) that I am having trouble with. SID is an Oracle invention not used in the SQL Server world. I have tried various combinations of the database string without sucess.
    Perhaps the XML Publisher Desktop does not work with SQL Server. Does anyone know how to use XML Publisher Desktop to create templates that will work with MS SQL Server?
    Thank you.
    BG...

    Shaun,
    Thanks for you comments. I belive I now have enough to use the HSGC-ODBC technique to make the template and then re-edit it to make it work with the original JDBC connection.
    That said, "Using ODBC-JDBC bridge connection is really poor in performance." I, more than anyone on the planet am aware of this issue and more.
    Being new to XMLPublisher I thought that having a JDBC connection to a SQL Server from XMLP Enterprise led me to beleive that the XMLP Desktop template creation tool would also work. "*** Pity the fool ***" for thinking that! (Thank-you Mr. T!!! <grin>).
    Because I had to engage a 'heterogeneous connectivity" solution to this problem indicates that the product is half-baked. That's not to say that it is not capable.
    Rushing software products to market quickly creates products that make the rest of us jump through hoops. I resent that!!! I have more import things to do than waste time!
    I demand more of a trusted vendor, do you? I have tortured myself with Oracle products thinking they were ready since the early nineties.
    Look we are in a "heterogeneous universe" and if the product pretends to work with "heterogeneous databases" on the Enterprise side than it damn well aught to work with them on the Desktop side. That's my opinion.
    Attention OTN: I am back!!!
    Justin, this needs to be fixed.
    Thanks!

  • Using new Socket( host, port );

    how long does it take for a client to connect to the server.. How long does
    socket = new Socket( host port);
    take?
    I ask because if it takes longer on some computers, my clients wont connect in the correct order..
    Example:
    Client1 is sent to the server then
    Client2 is sent to the server then
    Client3 is sent to the server..
    Client1 takes 4 seconds to connect..
    Client2 takes 1 second!
    Client3 takes 1 second.
    In this case client's 2 and 3 with get in before client1 but I want them to connect in the correct order? Do I need to worry about new Socket( host, port ) load times or are they negligible?

    How long it takes depends on a lot of things - for example, on the network traffic. It's in general impossible to predict.
    Why does your program require that the clients connect in a certain order?
    If you really have to make sure that clients connect in a certain order, then you'll have to invent a mechanism to insure this yourself. For example, first tell client 1 to connect and wait for the connection to be established, then tell client 2 to connect and wait, etc.

    Please help!!!!

    You're using the "imaps" protocol, but you've set properties for the "imap" protocol.  Change all the property names from mail.imap.* to mail.imaps.*.
    Also, get rid of all the socket factory properties.
    If you still can't connect, see these connection debugging tips.
    Most likely you're using the wrong host name or port number.  In almost all cases, it's better to just let JavaMail choose the correct port number.

  • Smartview Error: "Cannot Connect to Provider. Make Sure It Is Running in the Specified Host/Port (503)

    I am having an issue retrieving on a SmartView grid running 11.1.2.2.309.01 and SmartView 11.1.2.2.102.I have a grid with three attribute dimension and, at first it was long running and gave me a netretry netinterval error. I shared with my administrator and, they gave me the registry updates to increase my timeout for my default browser. Now, I try to retrieve the same sheet and after approximately five minutes, I get the message, "Smartview Error: "Cannot Connect to Provider. Make Sure It Is Running in the Specified Host/Port (503)". I am not sure what this means. I can retrieve on other grids with one attribute dimension or a regular retrieve but, for some reason, I notice when I retrieve on multiple attribute dimensions, I am having this issue. I had this tested with others and, they are experiencing the same result. Any thoughts. Thanks in advance

    The timeout was updated to 7 minutes but, the timeout on the APS was never updated. What happened was there was a 7,000 member dimension where attributes where being used to build a retrieve. The attributes were what was causing the issue. Not to say you should not use attributes. Ultimately, an alternate hierarchy in the 7,000 member dimension will  help but, I used other members to get the results I need. I just never saw the error message before and, did not see it in oracle support.. Thanks.

  • Error: "Cannot connect to the provider. Make sure it is running in the specified host/port. Error (12031)"

    Hi,
    EPM version: EPM 11.1.2.1
    When we are using Zoom In Level as All Levels and tring to drill down for dimention of HFM application we are getting below error.
    Error: "Cannot connect to the provider. Make sure it is running in the specified host/port. Error (12031)"
    As we found some solution from comunity , we have performed below workaround but still we are getting same error.
    ·              We have done the changes in mod_wl_ohs.conf file of OHS  with (WLIOTimeoutSecs 3600 and WLIOSocketTimeoutSecs 3600)
    ·              And then restarted OHS and  APS service but still we found same error.
    Could anyone please suggest ,where can we trace its log from web server and the solution for this issue?
         Thanks,
             D.N. Rana

    Hi,
    We have already performed the changes for APS in OHS as mentioned in the solution and the path also same as under OHS.
    Intially we were getting error for "to increase netRetryCould and NetRetryInterval"  as a solution we have added below 3  registry DWORD keys under  path
    HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE\SOFTWARE\Microsoft\Windows\CurrentVersion\Internet Settings
    "KeepAliveTimeout"=dword:00180000                   (26 Minutes)
    "ReceiveTimeout"=dword:00dbba00                      (240 Minutes)
    "ServerInfoTimeout"=dword:00180000                  (26 Minutes)
    Above error resolved but then we received Error"12031"
    Now we have added above 3 DWORD keys under path HKEY_CURRENT_USER\Software\Microsoft\Windows\CurrentVersion\Internet Settings
    and now we are not getting the  error "12031".
    But here we are not getting how it(LB issue) resolved with above solution?
    Thanks,
    D.N.Rana

  • Do we need to create two zones for Two HBA for a host connected with SAN ?

    Hi,While creating Zone , Do we need to create two zones for Two HBA for a host connected with SAN ? Or a zone is enough for
    a host which having Two HBAs...We have two 9124s for our SAN fabric...
    As I found like one zone  below, I little bit confused that , if a host having two HBA connected with SAN, should I expect two zones for every Host?
    from the zone set, I gave the command show zoneset
    zone name SQLSVR-X-NNN_CX4 vsan 1
        pwwn 50:06:NN:NN:NN:NN:NN:NN
        pwwn 50:06:NN:NN:NN:NN:NN:NN
              pwwn 10:00:NN:NN:NN:NN:NN:NN
    But I found only one zone for the server's HBA2:by the same time in the fabric I found switches A & B showing the WWNs of those HBAs on its
    connected N port...Its not only for this server alone, but for all hosts..Can you help me to clarify on this please..that should we need to create one zone for
    one HBA?

    if u have two independent fabrics between hosts and storage, i think the below confs are recommended.
    Scenario 1:  2 HBAs single port each ( redundancy across HBA / Storage port )
    HBA1 - port 0 ---------> Fabric A ----------> Storage port ( FAx/CLx )
    HBA2 - port 0 ---------> Fabirc B ----------> Storage port ( FAy/CLy )
    Scenario 2: 2 HBAs of dual port each
    HBA1 - port 0 -------> Fabric A ---------> Storage port ( FAx/CLx )
    HBA2 - port0 ---------> Fabric A ---------> Storage port ( FAs/CLs )
    HBA1 - port 1 --------> Fabric A --------> Storage port ( FAy/CLy )
    HBA2 - port 1 ---------> Fabric B --------> Storage port ( FAt/CLt )
    the zone which is in your output is VSAN 1. if its a production VSAN, Cisco doesn't recomends to use VSAN 1 ( default vsan ) for production.

  • Wsdl host:port default values

    Hi,
    I've deployed a webservice in Weblogic 12.1.3, I expect that when I invoke the WSDL the binding address will be:
    http://host:port/contextPath/serviceUri?WSDL
    where host should be the host with which I've invoked the webservice and port the portnumber I've used in the webservice call. I mean if I call the webservice invoking directly a managed server instance with port 7103 the binding addres should be:
    <service name="ComplexService">
         <port binding="s0:ComplexServiceSoapBinding" name="ComplexServicePort">
           <s1:address location="http://myhost:7103/complex/ComplexService"/>
         </port>
       </service>
    The problem is that the WSDL is avoiding the managed server instance port 7103 and always is using the default protocol port 80 for http and 443 for https.
    <s1:address location="http://myhost:80/complex/ComplexService"/>
    Any ideas why is happening that?
    Thank you.

    Hi, I've checked what you said, but the configurations seems right:

  • Unsing comma sep URL Syntax mq://host:port/option1=va,mq://host:port/option

    in the [openmq documentation|https://jmsjca.dev.java.net/source/browse/*checkout*/jmsjca/jmsjca/unifiedjms/src/userdoc/sun-jms-adapter-readme.html] it is mentioned that u can use such comma seperated configurations for failover. now my question is what is the result if i am using such syntax to configure
    To support one or more SJSMQ message server addresses, add a comma and another URL,
    e.g. mq://host:port/serviceName?option1=value1&option2=value2, mq://host:port/serviceName?option1=value1&option2=value2 1) consumers
    2) producers with this url?
    lets say this setup is given:
    datacenter 1   ---------------100 km ---------------- datacenter 2
    broker1                                                       broker 2
    appserver domain 1                             appserver domain 2 (clients configured with both brokers)
    producer and consumer for queue1             producer and consumer for queue1 on broker?1) how do the clients decide to which broker connect first?
    2) what happens if tcp connection (WAN) breaks between datacenter
    3) what happens if it gets up again?
    any comments appreciated.
    can anyone point me to a documentation that is a bit more comprehensive on this feature?
    regards chris

    Please read the section in the documentation on client reconnection. That should cover how clients connect and reconnect. If you have any questions after that please let us know:

  • Two port bootable SATA PCIe internal Host adapter

    Hi
    My first post.
    Who make a Two port bootable SATA PCIe internal Host adapter.
    What I would like to do is add two Intel 80GB SSD's in the open optical bay and set them up as Raid 0 for booting and applications. Is this even possible??
    Other info:
    Bay 1 scratch disk. Bay 2, 3, and 4 are set up with 3 WD RE3 in a Raid 0 for data. For booting I am using a Guardian MAXimus RAID-1 [MIRROR] External eSATA/FireWire 800.
    And yes I have back up systems. LaCie 5big Network, Time Machine 2TB and a Seagate free agent. Paranoid Yes, I have lost stuff.....

    Cool. Welcome to the Apple Discussions. You should like it here, for nothing else but the diversity of opinion.
    In my case, if I were you, I'd get one of these, and put your two Intel's in the optical bay. Native and bootable... Eh, Voila!

  • Virtual Hosts & Port Redirections

    Hi guys,
    In 10.6 i used to be able to setin the Server Admin GUI settings for the web service. This included Virtual Hosts & Port Redirections. How do i go about doing this on 10.7?
    For example, I need myserver.mycompany.com:80 to redirect to myserver.mycompany.com:8088 & mygreatsite.company.com:80 to redirect to mygreatsite.company.com:9006.
    Both of which are hosted on myserver.mycompany.com.
    Links apprecaited.. i'm guessing i'm in for an Apache lesson?

    I hope that article helps you, maybe you can figure it out and post back for the rest of us!
    I haven't actually read it yet, I just saved it to my Pinboard page for later, because I know eventually I will have to deal with vhosts in Lion.
