High Level Hardware Requirements - Netweaver 7.0 and Netweaver 7.3 Upgrades

Good Morning,
I order to negotiate new Hardware with our supplier, i need to understand future needs regarding some upgrades we may still have.
I have two systems:
A SAP Netweaver 6.40 (with Adobe Document Services) which will be upgraded to Netweaver 7.0 SP23 and will have NWDI.
A SAP Netweaver CE 7.1 EHP1 which will be upgraded to SAP Netweaver 7.3.
I need to have a estimate for the new hardware needs. I don't want detail right now, just some documentation from SAP with estimate like "... The estimate needs for a upgrade will be 10 to 15% more CPU, 15 to 20% more Memory..." (not just hints based on experience, should be SAP docs stating that).
Can any of you direct me on this documentation, trying to find something like that in SAP but it's not being easy and i need this for a meeting in about 2 hours...
Thanks for all the help you can give me...
Best Regards,
Pedro Gaspar

Hi,
For the upgrades there are some recommendations related to disk size but for RAM and CPU it depend upon the your usage scenario. Upgrade does not demand additional resources. But if you don't have enough resources on the server then upgrade might run slow. So, What i will recommend to you is- do the proper sizing of your target system depends upon what scenario you use with quicksizer tool and then upgrade your server resource before you start the upgrade.
Thanks
Sunny

  • Hardware requirements for SSIS, SSAS and SSRS 2008 R2

    hi evebody,
i have to deploy a Microsoft BI 2008 R2 in a autonome server, and i wonder if i have to create an instance for every services(SSIS, SSAS, SSRS, sharepoint) or i create only one instance and i deploy it.
also i wonder how do I go about determing hardware requirements for SSIS, SSAS, SSRS, sharepoint????

    Hi Malihh,
In your scenario, you said that you need to deploya BI project to server, which kindsof project do you need to deploy? If it's anAnalysis Services project, then you need to install a SSAS instance and then deploy it to SSAS server. Ifit's a Reporting Services
project, then you need to install a RS instance, and then deploy it to RS server. For the hardare requirements, please refer to the link below.

  • Hardware Requirement  for APPS 11I and R12

    Hello experts,
i want to purchase new laptop for practice oracle 11i or r12.
please suggest me what should harware requirement, mainly processor and operating system.
as i want to buy I3 processor with window 7 4 gb ram. 500 gb hard disc.
but my frnd told me that apps do not work with window7.
    thanks
    yash

I would not recommend installing 11i at this time and your choice would be R12 (12.1.1) -- You may upgrade to 12.1.3 later if you want.
For the hardware specifications, please make sure you have at leave 8 GB RAM.
For the disk space, the total space required for a standard system (not including the stage area) is 85 GB for a fresh install with a production database, and 233 GB for a fresh install with a Vision Demo database. For the stage area directory (where you will run the installer from), you need at least 47 GB to accommodate the file system and database files in the stage area.

  • High level of I/O (large write and then zpool scrub cron kicked off) causin

I have a test server running Solaris x86 patched up to current(April 15th) with pca. My FC adapter is a LSI 929 card (using LSI provided Solaris 10 driver called itmpt). My storage is an old Storagetek 5000 series (I think 5100).
I have been testing ZFS stuff on this before implementing in production environments, all Sparc systems with internal disks or more recent FC arrays. Over the weekend a backup that dumps about 50 GB of data onto the Sol10 x86 machine lasted long enough to still be running when the zfs scrub cron I created kicked off. I wake up to find one pool completely offline with 4 devices showing unavailable and a string of messages about i/o request timeouts. A reboot and scrub with no other activity seems to have fixed it, no errors reported and it stopped saying I should nuke everything and start over (I hate that almost always wrong advice).
Will ZFS on FC always be suceptable to this kind of problem? So far I have not seen this on SATA/SAS but maybe I'm lucky. This makes me wary of scrubbing on production systems.

    Table 3: 118 col, 360MB, 820,259 rows, avg len 266 bytes
The FTS has improved as expected. With 5 physical drives in a RAID0, a performance of
    420MB/s was achieved.
In the write test on the other hand we were not able to archieve any improvement.
    The CTAS statement always works with about 5000 - 6000 BLOCK/s (80MB/s)
But when we tried running several CTAS statements in different sessions, the overall speed increased as expected.
Further tests showed that the write speed seems to depend also on the number of columns. 80MB/s were only
possible with Tables 2 and 3. With Table 1, however only 30MB/s were measured.
If multiple CTAS can produce higher throughput on writes this tells you that it is the production of the data that is the limit, not the writing. Notice in your example that nearly 75% of the time of the CTAS as CPU, not I/O.
The thing about number of columns is that table 1 has exceeded the critical 254 limit - this means Oracle has chained all the rows internally into two pieces; this introduces lots of extra CPU-intensive operations (consistent gets, table access by rowid, heap block compress) so that the CPU time could have gone up significantly, resulting in a lower throughput that you are interpreting as a write problem.
One other thought - if you are currently doing CTAS by "create as select from {real SAP table}" there may be other side effects that you're not going to see. I would do "create test clone of real SAP table", then "create as select from clone" to try and eliminate any such anomalies.

  • Upgrade 4.6C-- ECC6 , Hardware requirements

    Hi  Experts,
    We are currently in 4.6C R/3 with 46D kernel ( Oracle 9.2DB and HP-UX B.11.00)
    We have two servers  ( DB instance 12X750MHz 20GB, Application 10X875MHz 20GB) .Machine is rp8400 , disk - 460GB
when we go for ECC6 , I understand we should go for upgraded hardware first. Cananybody please give a high level idea of the new hardware requirements.
    Thanks in advance
    Arun

Its it an upgrade to ECC or it will be a fresh installation.
Check with your hardware vendor he will be able to provide you the details.
There are many factors for H/w sizing. You can use the quick sizer tool for details.
Sit with your functional consultant and use the quick sizer tool for a rough estimate
Check the installation / upgarde guide for minimum hardwrae specifications for ECC 6.0

  • High-level interrupt handler

Why can I decide to support a high-level interrupt or not? Under what condition does the Solaris kernel will map my hw interrupt (INTA from PCI bus) to a high-level interrupt? When should I refuse to support a high-level interrupt? Why? Can I force my hw interrupt to be a high- level interrupt?
Also think about that, most hw interrupts indicate something important such as the case buffers are full. If they are assigned below the scheduler's, it really does not make sense.
Is it possible to block any hw interrupts? Or I'd put it this way can I prioritize hw interrupts in Solaris?
    Thanks
    tyh

    Hi,
On x86 each IRQ has a software priority assigned to it implicitly by the bus driver, although I think you could override it in the driver.conf. Unlike SPARC, the processor doesn't support a PIL so software priorities are implemented by masking all lower-priority IRQs and re-enabling interrupts.
High priority interrupts, above dispatcher level, run in the context of the current thread on the cpu, normal level interrupts are handled by interrupt threads.
The interrupt threads are the highest priority threads on the system, so will preempt any other running threads. In addition mutexes in Solaris use priority inheritance, so the interrupt threads will get to run.
In general, high level interrupts are allocated to devices with small buffers such as serial or floppy, so that their buffers get serviced in the fastest possible time. Others can afford to wait for just a bit.
Your driver should check to see if its device has been allocated a high level interrupt. If this is the case, the high level handler should clear the interrupt and save the data/status (in the driver state structure perhaps) and trigger your soft level interrupt handler (which will run as a thread).
Blocking of interrupts is done for you when you acquire a spin mutex (ie initialised with an iblock cookie). Such a mutex is required to synchronise access to data shared with a high level handler in your driver.
Please take a look at the Intel Driver writers orientation at:

    Hope that helps,

  • How to Skip weight data from Sales order for Higher level BOM material

I have maintained a BOM at Item level with item category group LUMF.
And the higher level item is not subjected for pricing and costing. While creating the higher level Item I did not maintain weight for it. Now when I create a sales order due to the incompletion log system is asking to maintain Weight details for higher level item also.
But I donu2019t want to maintain weight for that item nor I want to remove net weight and gross wt from incompletion log.
While creating higher level material with material type FERT and I have maintained LUMF and all things are normal. Also tell me do I need to select any different material type or do I need to go for different settings ?
I hope my query is clear. Please ask if query is not clear.
    Please Guruu2019s suggest me.

    Hi ,
I do not know what a reference charactersitcs is,but there are all independant characeristics in terms of their values.
A guess it is because the VC data is changed after the sales order is created, the updated VC data is displayed properly only in VA02 or VA03 but other function modules fail to display the updated VC data.
I understand there is a relationship of instance -between sales order object and VC data object-which we need to update and then see the latest data.
Please let me know if anyone has debgged VA03 to know how the standard SAP program retrieves VC data in a sales order.
    Thank you,
    Hemant

  • Top Level Document of Advantages of VPN and Safety

    Hello all;
I have looked high and low and cannot find a high level (for executives not analysts) for a whitepaper that can show the advantages and the safety of using VPN client solutions to allow small businesses to setup remote users. Many of my clients are small (less then 20 person  shops) looking to understand the advantages and the security risks of having a VPN. I explain to them and show them the advantages; but has anyone come across a high level white paper explaining the advantages and showing the ability of many of today's devices security when configured properly. Please point me to anything that you have seen out there along those lines.

Mind that you're asking on a vendor's forum about a solution, you might get information with a particular bias (and lots of fancy marketing powerpoints).
Have a look at first couple of chapters here

there are also a couple of good government briefings, you might want to check what NIST (or its equivalent in your country) published.

  • JMX for high level AMPs?

I have to implement a high level API for a special device and I wonder if JMX is the right choice.
Is it possible to write a high level object oriented API with JMX or is it just a modern substitute of SNMP?
For example if I write an API for my mp3 radio player can I say <record the song "Walk Like an Egyptian" from "The
Bangles", when ever it comes> and later copy all received songs to the client or can I just say <start recording now> and <stop recording now>?
Regard, I want to implement an API so other complex applications can control my device comfortable, not a plug-in
into an existing management application that controls other stand-alone devices too.
    Any comments? What's your experience?
    Marvin Haktar

Yes, JMX is suitable for creating a high level API that offers more flexibility in management than a pure SNMP based approach. One of the goals of the JMX specification is to address the needs of application management, whereas SNMP has traditionally focused on network/device management.

  • Message Queue hardware requirements

I'm intrested in upgrading MessageQ 4.0a to MessageQ 5 in a Win2K server, but first I want to know what are the hardware requirements for this software and know if the server performance will be affected?

What do you mean by "process 150 million rows"? There is a pretty big difference between, say, building some materialized views on 150 million row tables and a process that has to do extensive processing and validation on 150 million rows.
What sort of time window do you have at month end? Does this need to happen in an hour or two, or is it acceptable if it takes all day?
What sort of hardware does your organization currently use? Do your admins have familiarity with Windows, Linux, Solaris, HP-UX, AIX, etc.?

  • Is hi-speed required to install Leopard and upgrades?

I recently sold my 17" iMac G4 to a buyer on the internet who has neither DSL or cable connections. She says the iLife '06 that I included won't install because the machine indicates a higher/later version of Tiger is needed and that downloading the upgrade requires a hi-speed connection. Is this accurate? Also, is hi-speed as critical to Leopard as to Tiger. (If not, I would suggest she move up to Leopard and go with either the '06 iLife she already has or pick up iLife '08).
She loves the machine (a new Apple convert), but I feel kind of bad because I know her main interest is editing movies.
    Thanks for any info,

I can't find any info on Tiger anymore, but for Leopard, Apple clearly states:
"Some features require a compatible Internet service provider; fees may apply."
Without a highspeed inernet pipe, many of the updates will certainly take a long time, and sometimes dialup ISP connections will time out.
However, anyone with a highspeed pipe can download the updates, etc and burn them to a CD or DVD.
Streaming video, audio, etc, naturally requires a highspeed link to work properly.

  • Hardware Requirements to get Satisfactory Resolution and Reconstruction from a Kinect V2 Scan

I am new to the Kinect for Windows V,2 (KFW2) Sensor, and as a prospective hobbyist
I am finding it difficult to determine the ”best for me” hardware requirements to acquire a satisfactory resolution and reconstruction from a scan to use in a 3D printer.
Please excuse and correct any mistaken impressions I expose in the following overview of what I have learned so far.
It seems that the measure of success to achieve my goal is to achieve 30 Frames per Second (fps) using applications such as Fusion Explorer and 3DBuilder while making a acan.
After watching many video demos I have determined that the stated minimum system requirements published by Microsoft are focused on just getting the KFW2 sensor to actually “work” and have a mesh constructed regardless of quality. Beautiful models have been
build using these applications, but in many of them I have heard both explicit and implicit comments that the computer used was much more capable than the stated minimum. In fact, in one such video the Microsoft presenter said words to the effect that “…we
have some high-end computers here but you need more than that to get good results in real time...” In many cases a Surface Pro 3 was somewhere in the scene. Well I am using a Surface Pro 3 i7, and I do not get satisfactory results.
So my question is, “Has anyone achieved a frame rate of 30 fps with Fusion Explorer and/or 3D builder? If so would you mind sharing the make and model of the computer you used, or the specs of the components you used (CPU, GPU, USB 3.0 controller, etc.)
if you built your own custom computer.
    Thanks in advance
    jperry

    Hi JPerry,
    I have a laptop with a 4GB 680m and a intel i7-3820qm (USB 3.0 eXtensible) and get a solid 30 fps fusion which takes around 60% GPU load with a 640 vox/m 256x256x512 grid. FPS drops to 17-20 when I increase the numbers to 768 vox/m, 512x512x768 grid.
    On my Surface Pro 3 256GB i5-4300U I can get a decent 20-25 fps with 384 vox/min 128x128x128.
Fusion is very memory intensive, hence the frame rate dependency on volume size. I think in the original Fusion paper they mention that each voxel element takes up 32bits of memory so for 512x512x512 it takes up 512MB of GPU memory.
I would say anything with 1.5GB of GPU memory, later than a (desktop) nvidia GTX 660 (or AMD equivalent) should get you a solid 30 fps unless you use huge volumes, then I would consider using some of the fusion alternatives such as Voxel Hashing or KinFu
    Large Scale.
    http://www.graphics.stanford.edu/~niessner/niessner2013hashing.html
    http://pointclouds.org/documentation/tutorials/using_kinfu_large_scale.php
Although you may have to do some work getting those working with the v2.

  • Summing up the price of the sub items and put it in the Higher level item

    Dear Experts,
I have got one requirement from my customer.
The requirement is while creating the Sales order (in VA01), in the line item the customer will enter the Material, Quantity and Higher level item for the line item.In Condition Tab page price and Condition will be entered.
My requirement is at the time of saving the sales order the price of the lower level items has to be summed up and this price has to be put in condition tab page of the higher level item.
This is my requirement. Is it possible?if yes please explian me how to do this.
If anybody not able to understand my question please reply back to me.
    Thanks & Regards,
    Ashok.

    Hi
Here u need to find user exit that suits ur requirement like user exit that will trigger while saving that sale order and in that user exit u are able to access that tables where all the lower level item prices stored and condition table where price stored. Then u can do sum and update that sum into condition price table. So search for user exit that suits ur requirement.

  • High level description of why an Enterprise Admin account is required for DirSync config

    Hi all,
I understand that as part of the Azure AD Sync tool config wizard you are required to enter the credentials of an Enterprise Admin account.  These credentials are required for the creation of the MSOL_AD_Sync service account within the Users OU of Active
Directory.  This account is granted read and synchronization permissions to the local Active Directory.
Is someone able to provide a high-level description of what this actually means i.e exactly which permissions are granted and on which objects.  Are we talking about having to modify the permissions of every single object within Active Directory?
    Many thanks in advance,
    Graham

    Hi,
To start with, I guess you would know that this is a Kind of a Temporary.
I have some details from previous conversations and blogs
Hope this puts some light on your query.
When configuring the Microsoft Online Services Directory Synchronization Tool, you are asked to provide the credentials for an account that has
Enterprise Admin permissions on your organization's local Active Directory directory service. It accepts credentials in either of the following forms:
    [email protected]
    Example\someone
These Enterprise Administrator credentials are not saved. They are erased from the computer's memory after the service account is created.
How the Active Directory Credentials Are Used
The Microsoft Online Services Directory Synchronization Tool Configuration Wizard uses the Enterprise Admin credentials to create the directory
synchronization service account, MSOL_AD_Sync. This service account is created as a domain account with directory replication permissions on your local Active Directory and with a randomly generated complex password that never expires.
    Note:
Changing the password associated with the service account is not recommended.
How the Service Account Is Used
When the directory synchronization service runs, it uses the service account credentials to read from your local Active Directory and write to the
synchronization database. The contents of the synchronization database are written to Microsoft Online Services using the Microsoft Online Services credentials requested on the
Microsoft Online Services Credentialspage of the Microsoft Online Services Directory
    Synchronization Tool Configuration Wizard.
    Note:
If you add a domain to your Active Directory forest, you must run the Microsoft Online Services Directory Synchronization Tool Configuration Wizard
again to add the new domain to the list of domains to be synchronized.
    Thanks & Regards

  • High level contract and orders created with reference

    Dear All,
The client is an integrated flat steel manufacturer. They have entered into quantity contract with high level products like for example Hot rolled coils + Cold rolled coils + Heat Treated plates 5000 T per month. There is no clear cut quantity breakup of each product. On monthly basis customer releases purchase orders with exact grade and dimensions. The requirement is to capture contact for 5000T and create orders with reference to the contract with necessary completion rule. Since exact break up of the high level products is not known controlling of order quantity to 5000T will involve lot of manual intervention. I was thinking in the contract we have high level material "X with 5000T and orders created with reference with actual materials like Hot rolled coils, Cold rolled coils and exact dimension/grade mentioned. Is this possible to have different materials in contract and order with enhancement?
Any other idea of fulfilling the requirements is welcome.
