High level interfaces

I need to build an interface that will integrate the vendor master into a third party tool called Astea. These will be added to Astea. What is the best method for this ? Any help is appreciated. Thanks in advance !
Interface item:  Vendor Master
Type: Integration
Direction: SAP --> Astea
Description: Vendor Records created in SAP are added to Astea

It is depend upon the volume of data. Generally you can use EDI - IDoc for sending data to external system.

  • High-level C interface to OCI?

The OCI seems a little unfriendly in places, for example unnecessarily requiring you to pass string lengths when passing string parameters, using made-up types (e.g. ub4) when native types would probably do, and generally requiring the application developer to do a lot more work than necessary. Aside from going to Pro*C, is there an available higher-level abstraction of the OCI?
    Thanks.

Some of this is a holdover from earlier days and versions also not all data types were the same across all the platforms OCI was ported to (16-bit, 32-bit, 64-bit). You needed types that could be considered absolute (like UB4). Now you are more likely to be able to use a -1 length when passing in a null-terminated string as well.

  • Recording my voice at a higher level

    Hi All,
I am recording my voice for a podcast on garageband. I am speaking directly into my mic, which is attached to my computer. How can I record my voice at a higher level. The output is not loud enough and the "track line" is almost flat. How do I change it so I can record at a higher level!
    Thanks!

    Hi, Roger,
I was looking at the Behringer Podcast Studio http://www.bhphotovideo.com/c/product/481377-REG/Behringer_PODCASTUDIO_FIREWIRE_ PODCASTUDIO_FIREWIRE_Bundle.html#features
and was wondering if this would work for a first-time podcast? Is it better to pick the items up piecemeal? I was thinking of the Behringer 1202 (Xenyx or UB) as it has 2 more (total of 4) XLR inputs and it's going for about $75. However, the Firewire audio interface with the studio package alone is going for *$77*. It seems that the combo would be more economical, but I don't want to sacrfice quality too much.
Is a Griffin iMic USB audio interface (or a Behringer UCA202 - Low Latency 2 Input / 2 Output USB/Audio Interface with Digital Output) just as good at around $30?
I already have a several mics, some XLR, some 1/4" jacks -- condenser & dynamic.
Eventually, I'd like to record a podcast with around 3-5 people all doing a round-table type discussion.
    Thanks for any input, Deborah
PS like the Behringer mixer because of the CD/tape input, also, so that I can digitize old cassette tapes.

  • SUS - Added Data Type Enhancement and Higher level Proxies are not active

    Hello,
I've added a field to our current data type enhancement Z_Purchase_Order_Item.  Once I regenerate the proxy on the enhancement and activate it the field appears as it should in the high level items that use the enhancement (PurchaseOrderRequest_In).  But those proxies have become inactive and when I try to activate them I get this message:
Interface II_BBPX1_SUS_PO was repaired before the Modification Assistant was enabled.
All Modification Assistant functions only apply to future modifications, not to those already
    undertaken.  This means:
-The modification overview only displays future modifications.
-When resetting to the standard, the system will reset all objects to their current version, since
the actual standard can no longer be identified by the Modification Assistant.
-Support for adjustment after an upgrade will only be available for future modifications.
Modifications that already exist must be re-made manually using version management.
    The next message says:
Object can only be created in SAP package.
Then the status bar shows "Proxy Activated".  But when I close and reopen the proxy I see that it is once again inactive.
Does any know what I need to do to activate this proxy?
    Thanks,
    Matt

In SPROXY you can open your proxy and then view the Activation Log under the GoTo menu.  The log will explain better what the problems might be.  In my case I needed to activate another data type enhancement first.
    Thanks,
    Matt

Connections are all valid and work when I setup the Refresh but when the schedule refresh occurs I get this error:

It is trying to refresh 3 simple tables with less than 9,000 rows each.
Also, i'd like to add that the refresh works right from excel as well...
Another fact just in, it seems to work on one out of 3 tables sometimes, so first table gets a success on the log, but sometimes it fails (It succeed twice and failed once with the above error).  The second table never succeeds and gets the error above.
The 3rd table never even gets attempted.
Am I running into some sort of timeout perhaps?

  • How to perform high-level planning without doing full costctr-level rollup

I am wondering what my options are for this effort - we want to start our 2009 budget season by first preparing a high-level 2009 plan. To do the high-level plan we'd like to avoid building and interfacing workbooks at the cost center level; instead, to get started, we want to look at groups of cost centers that represent the different lines of business of the Bank (retail, credit, etc).
Here's my question:is it possible to build planning workbooks not at the cost center level, but at a cost center rollup level? That is, we'd like to avoid having 10 workbooks at the cost center level that make up the rollup "Mortgage Lending"; instead we want one workbook for Mortgage lending that includes data for all 10 of those CC's.
Please let me know if you have any ideas as to how to do so, thanks, W

  • Low-Level or High-Level for GUI ?

I am developing a MIDLet that has to run CLDC-1.1 MIDP-2.0 Devices. The MIDLet has a simple user interface, and there is no gaming. I developed the MIDLet using the high-level GUI class, but I discovered that this class is nice, yet limited. Now I am investigating using the low level canvas class for the GUI. Is it possible to maintain cross-platform compatibility with the canvas, or should I stick with the high-level class?

    High Level Group
    Classes provided are
Perfect for development of MIDlets that target the maximum number of devices
Heavily abstracted to provide minimal control over their look and feel
Classes do not provide exact control over their display
    Low Level Group
    Classes provided are
Perfect for MIDlets where we want precise control over the location and display of the UI elements
If more control there is comes less portability It may not be deployable on certain devices

  • Very High-Level Question on Approach (PI ccBPM or CE7.1?)

    All -
I have a very high-level question. I am not current on what would be the appropriate tool for my scenario.
    My scenario...
Transitioning business to use new sales order system.
This will be a phased roll-out, not Big Bang.
Company ordering website needs to send orders to one of two systems (new and old).
Assume order has a flag or some other value that is an indicator to which backend application it should be sent.
Each recieving application has an order insert web service, which would be in PI 7.1's ESR.
What we "envision" is that there would be some kind of fronting web/enterpise service that would read the "flag", then pass the message to the appropriate web service (and on to the appropriate application).
But I really am not clear how to architect this, if any rules "engines" (ccBPM or in CE 7.1) would be  or should be used.
    You opinions are welcome...
    Thank you for your time...

    Hi Eric,
It would be more elegant , if you can classify this orders logically and provide two user interfaces one for each type.
But coming back to your question , if you are planning to implement the process in BPM , you could utilize the capabilities of BRM for this purpose . BRM comes with CE 7.1 and works in conjunction with BPM.
    [BRM Help|https://www.sdn.sap.com/irj/sdn/nw-rules-management]
Once you want a complete roll out , you can remove the BRM  decision making.Logically this would solve the purpose. ccBPM is not really positioned for this approach. It can be used when you need to interact with multiple systems using different protocols.
Caveat : The use of BPM will restrict your UI to WebDynpro Java (atleast for now). The whole process needs to be built around webservices or RFCs.

  • RFC: Proposing a high level iteration facility based on Collections

I am requesting for comments for an experimental package I developed providing a high level facility for iteration on Java 2 Collections.
You can browse the javadoc at http://www.cacs.louisiana.edu/~cxg9789/javautils/ and the code is available for download from http://www.cacs.louisiana.edu/~cxg9789.
    Basically, the package provides an interface Task that has a single method job() which is called for every element in a given collection. There are some static methods for using this kind of scheme and iterating over collections. An example would be: Iteration.loop(collection, new Task() {
              public void job(Object o) {
// do something on o here
});Now you may wonder what is the use of going into this much trouble when I can just get an iterator and do the same thing? Well, creating a class that represents the whole iteration opens a number of new possibilities. You can now have methods and variables exclusive for the specific iteration and reuse it. You can even subclass it for variants. This proved very useful in my application especially when I developed the StringTask class that is available in the same package.
Nevertheless, you can see it for yourself that we've got rid of the iterator and the condition checking that appears in conventional loop constructs. For details you can look at the Iteration at http://www.cacs.louisiana.edu/~cxg9789/javautils/edu/ull/cgunay/utils/Iteration.html and StringTask at http://www.cacs.louisiana.edu/~cxg9789/javautils/edu/ull/cgunay/utils/StringTask.html
I was wondering if you Java developers would find such a scheme useful. Thanks for your interest..

Heh... now I need to remember back...
No I don't, the internet comes to the rescue :-) I
was wrong, apply is the simple "function apply"
function, the list function of interest was (is)
    called map.
    http://www.cse.unsw.edu.au/~paull/cs1011/hof.html
This was very helpful. Now I know what you're saying. Actually this may very well be the hidden influence that lead to this system. The map operation also exists in Lisp and Scheme. I remember really liking it when I first learned about it.
My approach isn't exactly the same as neither of map, fold or filter. But I think I can create subclasses of Task which act the same way with these. I will try to do this in the near future.
Just as a comment on the design, I would have
maneuvered the list of getSomeResult() into an object
that knows how to render itself as a String. That may
well be using your Iteration feature over the internal
list, or other feature as the developer sees fit. This point is well taken. Actually my program uses this kind of approach in many places, however I wanted to give a less confusing example here.
Your iteration is a perfectly valid pattern to iterate
over a collection, and one that could be
applied in many places in my code. I'm unsure I
will migrate to use it, because it tends
towards a large number of small objects to perform its
function... which sometimes can be a simplification,
but in this case can obscure multi-threading issues...
spreading a loop over a collection across multiple
classes makes it less obvious what is happening to the
contents, or what synchronization is required, what
locks have been acquired, or what concurrent
modifications are possible. On the other hand, it might be more secure to have operations on collections in a place as an Iteration class to keep them together. Maybe you already mentioned it in your message. I can understand your concern in using the system, though.
To keep this information in one place, you could use
an anonymous inner class, but then you have lost the
reusability and succinctness of the iteration, which
are two of its largest benefits (Being a high-level
function using centralised, tested code being the
third, and probably the largest)I started using small inner classes very extensively. Maybe this can alleviate the problem, since they're not anonymous and can be reused. However, there is still a problem using (subclassing) them from outside of the class. I found a way to do this, too. It only works in special situations, though.
Assume you have an inner class:
    public class Outer {
      class Inner { ... }
}You can extend this inner class if you have another class extending the Outer:
    class NewOuter extends Outer {
      class Inner extends Outer.Inner { ... }
Thinking about it, your iteration is at a higher level
than foreach... and would benefit from using it
if were ever supported by the JVM. They are slightly
orthogonal approaches to looping abstraction, foreach
being syntactic and your pattern being heuristic. We're in tune here, I'd be interested to use the foreach operator and the Iterable interface as primitives in my system if they will ever be provided in Java. Currently, they are not offering me anything extra, since the Collection interface provides me with what I need.

  • Lower security to higher security interface PAT.

    Hi,
Can we have PAT with nat and global statements for source natting a traffic from Lower security interface to Higher security? If nat & global can't achieve this, what are the Possibilities.
    merci,
    arun

When you specify a group of IP address(es) in a nat command, then you must perform NAT on that group of addresses when they access any lower or same security level interface; you must apply a global command with the same NAT ID on each interface, or use a static command. NAT is not required for that group when it accesses a higher security interface because to perform NAT from outside to inside you must create a separate nat command using the outside keyword. If you do apply outside NAT, then the NAT requirements preceding come into effect for that group of addresses when they access all higher security interfaces. Traffic identified by a static command is not affected.
nat (outside) 1 network netmaks outside
global (inside) 1 ip_address   <--- used for PAT

  • HDMI Audio not working on Q190 (along with all higher level Audio Formats)

Help, I have been given the run around via support, I cannot get the HDMI audio to work with my Pioneer Surround Sound, only the Intel display audio shows in control panel (Win 8 X64) and the RealteK S/P Dif port and it is not capable of supporting 7.1 sound or bitstreaming or DTS, Dolby HD, Etc. Tec support appears not capable of fixing the issue and wanted to send me to software support and pay. I have only had the machine for 4 days and it has never supported higher level sound.
Every other device I have (had or currently) connected to the receiver works just fine. I have to figure this out or return the machine, the audio is the most important aspect for me. Besides when you advertise 7.1 support the machine you sell should be able to do it.

    Hey guys,
I have had this Q190 with the Celeron CPU since last week and I am using XBMC Frodo and the HDMI is connected to my AVR Onkyo TX-NR809 and from the Onkyo to the TV. And the sound is 7.1 with PLIIZ. It works fine. I think it may be some driver problem because Realtek Audio which is in the Q190 works fine with the Win8 preinstalled. Realtek is kind of bad with driver because I lost my wifi after upgrading to Win 8.1. After a few days with no wifi, I found out that the driver was bad, yes it was a Realtek wifi driver but posted by Lenovo for W 8.1.
I have another friend who also just bought the Q190 and he reported no audio problem so I think it is just a matter of trouble shooting the drive and configuration. I do love the form factor of the Q190.

  • Running a Sub-VI and monitoring data that is generated on a higher level VI

    Hi All,
This question must been there before, but I cannot find a suitable answer here on the forums....
I have a 'top-level' VI that does a lot of things. I also have a sub VI that runs a frequency sweep on a piece of equipment. This is done with a for loop.
    Problem:
I want to monitor/access the data that is generated in the for loop (See attached, the 3 wires within the green circle I want to monitor).
    2 Questions:
How can I access the data on the wires (within the loop) from a higher level VI?
How can I then run this VI in a higher level VI while the higher level VI is continuing and not waiting for the sub-VI to complete?
I tried using a Que but I cannot seem to get that working.
    Any suggestions?

The queue is a good way to move data from a running subVI to another VI.  Your problem is that if the subVI is inside a loop in the main VI, that loop in the main VI cannot iterate until the subVI completes. The solution: have the sub VI running in parallel - not inside - the loop.
Look at the Producer/Consumer Design Patterns (at File >> New... >> VI >> From Template >> Frameworks >> Design Patterns >> Producer/Consumer.  This may be more than you need at the moment but will show how the parallel code process works.
