High number of HU's in Inspection Lot

Hi All,
I have the following issue at my client that was brought to out attention by SAP but with no resolution!!
We are implementing HUM and already have QM implemented.
When we create inspection lots for production the inspection lot will contain up to 6000 low level HU's. these may be nested in around 20 top Level HU's but the inspection lot will show the lowest level which is what we want, so no issues here, yet....
The issue is that when we perform the UD and make the stock posting from the inspection lot for the HU's, SAP cannot handle this volume of HU's.
SAP have stated that the system cannot handle more than 200 - 500 HU's.
I suspect the issue is with teh transfer posting and not the UD as we need to change the stock status of 6000 HU's (6000 lines).
Has anyone come across such an issue before and if so is there a solution?????
Thanks
Stuart

Keep-alive is probably disabled on the front-end of Web Cache, either explicitly through the config or maybe because the origin server responses have no content-length header. This would force the cache to have to open a new connection for each peer request.
You can consider modifiying the app to set the content-length or change the tcp_time_wait_interval (depending on the operating system) of both the Web Cache servers and the app servers.

  • Process order batch number not reflecting in corresponding inspection lot

    Hi QM gurus,
I am working on inprocess inspection for production. I am creating process order during that time batch no is generated automatically by the system. Now process order is released during this time Inspection lot generated with inspection type 03. Now the problem is in the inspection lot, process order batch number is not reflecting. I have checked all the master data seetings. All seems to be fine. what could be the problem. any settings missed can anybody help me out.
    Thanks
    Vinameath

    Hi Vinameath,
Go to the Master Recipe (C202) of this Process order/Material. Go to Recipe Header tab and click on the Quality Management Header button.
Now,go to the Partial Lot Assign field and maintain the value " 0 Partial Lots not supported " and save.
Then create a new process order and in all probabilities, the batch should appear on the in-process inspection lot.
    Hope this helps you!

  • Number Range for '01' type inspection lot

    Dear QM gurus,
Inspection lot numebr getting increment by two instead one when doing GR against purchase order, please guide.
    Thanks in advance
    Kailash Thakkar

It is impossible in SAP standard because the inspeciton lot origin can have one number range only.
You can check why it is impossible in configuration.
Customizing > Quality Management > Quality Inspection > Inspection Lot Creation > Maintain Inspection Lot Origins and Assign Inspection Types

  • The inspection lot number

    Dear Gurus
We have the following situation:When i do the MIGO for GR,every time i clicked the button 'check' ,the inspection lot will skip one number.why?
    best regards!
Edited by: pongpong on Oct 19, 2010 5:58 AM

    Dear,
Go to OMAD or SUNM enter object QLOSE then check the number range buffer .
    Header menu-- Edit>Set-up buffering>No buffer
As described in note 989067 the sequential numbering of inspection lots cannot be guarenteed.
i.e. if in the MIGO you do a check for the material movement then a number in the sequence of inspection lot numbers is lost.

  • Need inspection lot number

I do have outbound delivery number and Saled order number handy with me.
How to find 04 type Inspection lot number for this?

Dear one way is for acheving this you can trace the lot number through material movements.
In MB51 for particular material check the movements types 601 and 101(If it is descrete or process order) or 131(If it is rep.mnf.) and you can compare the quantity and posting dates if it is batch managed then it is very easy to trase the production order material document number which is related to that particular outbound delivery number.Once you find the material documents number you can find the inspection lot number in that particular doucement or through QA33.
    Check and Revert.
    Cheers

  • Legacy Inspection lots

    Hi,
My client was initailly using SAP version 4.1.
Now they are migrating to version 6.0. They want to uplaod all the legacy inpection lot (inspetion type 89), with all there characterctics values & there UD.
Edited by: Mayank MEHROTRA on Aug 6, 2010 9:22 AM
Please guide me with steps and necessary info which could be vital for the same.
I would be doing this for the first time so help & ideas are invited
    Mayank

This is possible but hyou must have everything set up right.
    1) Create a file of the legacy lots along with material number and batch number.
    2) Create 89 inspection lots using the material number and batch number, (LSMW).  You might want to put into the short text of the inspection lot the legacy inspection lot number for easy reference.
    3) You should have made sure that the inspection plan used in the new system for this is IDENTICAL to the one in the legacy system.
    4)  Download the results from the legacy lots.
    5) Map the legacy characteristics to the new characteristic numbers
    6) upload the legacy results to the appropriate inspection lots.  (probably an ABAP program for this, not LSMW).
It won't be easy.  The above is a very high level outline of the steps.  You'll find a lot of details still to be added.
The new inspection lots WILL NOT match the legacy ones. You will not be able to do that. Trying to do so will cause you all kinds of headaches and could realy screw up your number ranges for the inspection lots.  And in reality, there is no need to do so.

  • QM Scenario for Automatic Data Transfer to Inspection Lot

    Hi Experts,
I have explained one QM scenario below. And also mentioned queries that I have in this. Could you please help me out on the same?
There are 2 SAP systems, A and B.
    Process works as follows:
-Delivery is created at A with B as recipient.
-Automatically an IDOC is being created and send out with the quality data of the batch/inspection lot (electronic COA)
-In the background a workflow is triggered which transfers the data to the goods receipt from production inspection lot.
In the system B, a subcontracting plant (DE08) will be created. During the subcontracting the materials provided to the subcontractor in real-life, however in SAP it will be brought to the subcontracting plant on a storage location specific to the subcontractor.
Now the subcontracting service itself will be simulated by a process order (own order type is ZSUB). During the creation of the process order, a service purchase requisition will be automatically created which is connected to the process order. This purchase order will be transferred to A.
After processing the purchase order, A will send service to B. B will do the process order confirmation. After process order confirmation an Inspection lot of type 04 will get generated automatically.
Once the service delivery from A to B is done, the IDoc incl. the QM-data will arrive. Workflow will be triggered by inspection lot status CNF (Confirmed) – I0009. Now the workflow needs to identify the 04-'Goods receipt from production' of the process order and transfer the data into this inspection lot. The connection for this would be the purchase requisition number which is included in the process order. So the connection would be from purchase order number- purchase requisition-process order-inspection lot.
    Workflow template: WS03100078
    Business Object: BUS2045
    I have following queries.
    1. Do I need to create Z-business object or the standard one will do the job?
    2. If I need to create Z-business object, then what changes will be required in coding?
    3. If I am using standard one, what all settings need to be done?
    4. What configuration needs to be done in the workflow template?
    Thanks & Regards,
    Mrunal

    Dear Swarup,
The standard BAPI 's BAPI_INSPECTIONPLAN_CREATE Or ‘QAPP_CUST_IP_CREATE are not fulfilling my requirement .I need to create inspectiontion lot in R/3 system , which will invoke a process for creation of sample in another subsystem. But it is not very clear to me what a sample really means in QM, as i am an XI consultant .should a sample contain the recently generated Inspection lot number and its corresponding datas  ?

  • New inspection lot after SPCO status

We are creating an inspection with "early lot creation" option. Later we post partially stock (1000 KG) to process order. That stock is posted against Inspection lot-1 for batch-1. So businedd do inspection and post stock from QI to UNR. So system update status SPCO(Stock posting completed) but we haven't made UD and still production is under progress.
Next day business post again 1000 KG to same process order and same batch number, but system creates new inspection lot for same batch-1. Can we stop system to creating new inspection lot for same batch and process order combination? Per our requirements system should updated new stock to excisting insp lot instead of creating new one.
I have tried all different options of "Control InspLot" but in all cases system does create new lot once SPCO status has been set.

    Dear Eric
Give the UD when you release the first set of quantity. Then system wont create inspection lot again if you do the GR.

  • How can I generate automatic inspection lots every 15th day

    Hello,
My client receives chemicals (Raw Mat) every day. Incoming inspn is done only for physical spec and Usage deciison is taken on same day itself.
As he is getting raw mat from good vendors, he usally do chemical analysis every 15th day.
Whats the best way for me to map this process of generating inspection lot on every 15 day. initial incoming lot we cant use as he already taken UD on that.
15 day chemical analysis dont have any impact on qty posting as Raw mat usally will be consumed.
Is there anything other than manual lot. I welcome all ideas.

In this case your looking at a pooled sample of the approx. 15 batches of material that were received in.  Correct?
If you are batch managed, then no.  Since the sample is a composite sample, you can't link it to anything else really and you don't have a batch number to enter into the inspection lot upon creation.  First, you'd have to create a dummy batch to hold the results.  Which you could do maybe by date if your system allows external batch numbering.
Then you could at least manually create the inspection lot.
The is no true "event" to trigger the creation of the inspection lot as there is when you do a GR.  The only why you could trick the system would be if your were willing to maintain a separate storage location, and do a stock posting to it of the sample quantity each day.  Then you could have an inspection plan that would create a skip lot each day.  On the 15th day it would become required.  You would probably utilize a copy of movement type 411 for this and use that custom one to make the moves.
The problem with this is then you'll have to write off that little bit of material at some point for accounting purposes.
Another option.. you could create dummy batch and set a 15 day inspection interval on it.  Use deadline mointoring to create the lot one day in advance of expiration.
One more option:  Use standard calibration inspection to set up a calibration program.. I.e. recalibate every 15 days.

  • Customer number not in the inspection lot for a make to order scenario

    Hi All,
I know that standard SAP will get the Customer number into Insp. lot only for insp. types 10/11/12.  I am wondering if someone know a way to get the customer no. into insp. lot for insp. type 04 where the material is make-to-order scenario and the Production/Process order has the Sales order and customer no. without activating User-exit.  The quality users want to be able to see the customer no. in insp. lot without having them to go to process order.
It makes no sense to me why the customer no. is not brought into insp. lot when that is available in the Prod/process order, which can further be used to select the customer specific insp. plans for 04 insp. type Insp. lot without using Variant configuration.
Any light on this topic is appreciated.
    Thanks.

    Hi Srikant,
    I guess.........
Normally the inspection lot refers the triggering document that are the trigger cause for them.
    - Inspection type 01: - Purchase Order and GR material document.
    - Inspection type 03: - Pro. Order Number
    The same way...
The inspection type 10\11\12 are purely related to the SD, and directly integrates QM and SD. Hence in the inspection lot for the inspection types directly integrated to SD, it will furnish the Sales order number \ Customer.
But the inspection type 04 is purely have it's relation to Production process. So it will have the details related to integrations it has i.e. the "Pro. Order." Hence it integrates QM-PP, it have the data related to PP (Pro Order), not the SD's one.
But I think one way you can achieve it,
Assign the Customer number also to the inspection plan along with the Material. So I think at the time of assigning the inspection plan to the inspection lot, it will refer the Customer number also and will display the Customer number along with Task list Group\Group Counter, in the inspection specification screen in QA03/02

  • Inspection type 01 - inspection lot creation based on vendor batch number

    Hi Guys,
this topic has been discussed several times here, but I was not able to find a suitable answer for my question.
I am facing the folowing requirement:
I have activated inspection type 01 for a raw material.
I am receiving a firs goods receipt from vendor A with vendor batch number 0001.
The system creates its own goods receipt batch number 0546 based on internal numbering.
A new inspection lot is created.
I am posting a second goods receipt from vendor a with vendor batch 0001.
The system creates a new batch number 0547 based on internal numbering.
A new inspection lot is created.
I do not want to get the second inspection lot, because I received vendor batch 0001 before and I am assuming it has been inspected or is in inspection.
Option 1: Post the second goods receipt against the first internal batch number created.
I am aware of this need at the moment, but a user is not always checking if there is an internal batch with the same vendor received before.
Can I customize the system to create inspection lots based on the fact that the vendor batch number was received before?
Or do I have to use an exit and some ABAP code to get the wanted result?
Thanks for your advice in advance.

You need to use one of the enhancements that Do-Wook has suggested.  There is no standard SAP way to suppress the inspection based on the vendor batch number.
With the first enhancement you use the system to check for a previously received vendor batch and if one is found, then that batch number is proposed and not the next one from the numbering series.  In this case, the lot isn't created than due to the inspection lot control of the inspection type.
With the second enhancement you check the vendor batch number and if it's been received you suppress the inspection lot creation and the stock goes right to unrestricted.
You'll probably need to do one or the other.  Myself, I prefer the first enhancement.

  • Problem with serial Number in Inspection Lot

    Dear All,
I have a typical problem that material is there in quality inspection lot and serial numbers are aslo assigned during 101 mvt. but when I am posting it to unrestricted stock system is not determine serial number and giving an error
*Stock data of serial number XXXXXX not suitable for movement
    Message no. IO231*
All configuration setting are also OK as this problem comes for the first time and previously we were able to clear inspection lots of that material easily with serial number.
Any Idea to rectify that problem?
    Thanks

  • Connection between batch and inspection lot number

    Hi all,
