High roll wait time, gui time and processing time

Hi all,
We are having a performance issue with the system at the moment. After running ST03N and STAD, we have determined that we are having abnormally high roll-wait, GUI and processing times.
Here are some results from STAD:
CPU time: 2956ms
Processing time: 4417ms
Roll wait time: 1319ms
GUI Time: 2859ms
Can someone direct me towards finding the problem?
If you need more information please let me know. I would post a screenshot if I was able to.
Thanks,
HL

Hi,
Regarding Performance Of SAP system it will not be possible to Come to conclusion with the one Single data.
GUI time is basically the time spent in front end i.e Your Network load or such time
Coming to CPU time Can you see ST06 what is the CPU Utilization of your system?
Roll Wait time is the time Spent in buffer if you can share us the OS and Memory configuration.
We can Try to tune the Roll memory ( extended memory tuning) so that we can try to reduce the Roll time.
If possible try to find the Top Dialog Response Time Transaction Is it Standard or for Z Programs.

Lion 10.7.2 On both mac book pro and iMac, both with Lion 10.7.2, obtain repeated iCal event notifications from calendar or address book.  Cannot turn these off.  They repeat several times per session and every time computer is used.  How to diagnose this?

First, uninstall "SuperTV" (whatever that is) according to the developer's instructions. It isn't working and it's filling the log with noise.
If you have more than one user account, these instructions must be carried out as an administrator.
    Launch the Console application.
    Step 1
Make sure the title of the Console window is All Messages. If it isn't, select All Messages from the SYSTEM LOG QUERIES menu on the left.
Enter "BOOT_TIME" (without the quotes) in the search box. Note the timestamps of those log messages, which refer to the times when the system was booted. Now clear the search box and scroll back in the log to the last boot time when you had the problem. Post the messages logged before the boot, while the system was unresponsive or was failing to shut down. Please include the BOOT_TIME message at the end of the log extract.
Post the log text, please, not a screenshot. If there are runs of repeated messages, post only one example of each. Don’t post many repetitions of the same message. When posting a log extract, be selective. In most cases, a few dozen lines are more than enough.
PLEASE DO NOT INDISCRIMINATELY DUMP THOUSANDS OF LINES FROM THE LOG INTO A MESSAGE. If you do that, I will not respond.
Important: Some private information, such as your name, may appear in the log. Edit it out by search-and-replace in a text editor before posting.
    Step 2
Still in Console, look under System Diagnostic Reports for crash or panic logs, and post the most recent one, if any. In the interest of privacy, I suggest you edit out the “Anonymous UUID,” a long string of letters, numbers, and dashes in the header of the report, if present (it may not be.) Please don’t post shutdownStall, spin, or hang logs — they're very long and not helpful.

Sorry, but Formscentral doesn't support either a timer function or any kind of calculation. You might be able to do this if created your form in PDF. For help with PDF form creation in Acrobat I suggest you repost your question to the Acrobat Forum.

  • MacBook  Pro screen glitches out, gray lines appear on it then my computer freezes and must be restarted sometimes it will beep 3 times when restarting and other times it won't. Is this a virus?

I have a MacBook Pro running mavericks. Sometimes the screen glitches out, gray lines appear on it then my computer freezes and must be restarted sometimes it will beep 3 times when restarting and other times it won't. Is this a virus, software issue, water damage, etc? An error message usually appears after being restarted. It does it all the time please help.

No Virus. You have a Hardware Problem. 3 Beeps means a RAM problem. You could try Reseating the RAM is its sockets.
But that wouldn't necessarily cause the screen to Glitch Out, as you say.

  • High roll wait time

For my below crm transaction for a perticular user the response time is ~18000 ms out of which 15130 is roll time. Memory used is 16 MB.

I checked another similar instance again today with high wait time.  Most of the time was wait time. There were NO RFC RECORD. just http record with most of it being on the server (Remote exec. time ~ 16 534 ms).
Now i assume calling time = gate way time + remote exec time. So as most of it was on the server I can rule out network.
I checked st03 and rfc times were really small. Also we have plenty of wps .. ~ 90. So not sure why still the high wait time. Also stad does not give any RFC record. If this was rfc will it now show up ?

  • How do I use both a GUI switch and a timer to control an output?

Hi, I have no trouble setting up either a gui switch or a timer to switch a hardware output. However, now I am trying to use both to control the same output. That is, the latest change of either the timer or gui switch changes the output. I can do this by setting the gui switch output and the timer output into a software latch and connecting the latch to the hardware. The problem is that now the gui switch does not reflect the state of the hardware output (if the timer changed the state). One solution I can see is that there is both a push button 'change state' as well as an indicator at the gui but I would rather have all the functionality in the 1 switch. Any suggestions welcome!

It looks like you should be using a flip-flop object. This object changes state each time your input transitions from false to true. Also you would probably be better off using a push button rather tham a switch.
You can tie "your timer OR your pushbutton" to the input of your flip-flop. Then if you display the flip-flop on top of the push button you can easily see which state you are in. Then of course just tie your flip-flop to your output.
**This will work fine as long as you are NOT running multiple client applications. If you are running multiple clients, then it has to be done completely different. If this is the case please let me know and I will explain.
    Hope this helps

  • Purchase efficiency and processing time in purchasing

    Hi friends,
here purchase efficiency they want to find out, please suggest me any report and please do let me know use of  processing time in purchasing
    Thanks and regards,
    Balakrishna R.V

    Processing time-
It is the time required by buyer to convert PR into PO.
You can maintain the Processing time on plant basis.
The processing time is taken into account during the scheduling process for externally procured materials within the framework of materials planning and control
for example- Planng time (to produce the material at vendor end)  + Processing time (time required by buyer) +GR processing (after receiving the material at plant) = the material available date ...Forward scheduling
in reverse scheduleing it will bve otherway round to calculate the date on which I should communicate the vendor so that my schedules are met.
You can see the details in SPRO > MM >Pur Req

  • Difference between dispatch time in po and scheduled time in job

    Hi all ,
can any one please explain me
what is the exact difference between dispatch time maintained in po and time/date set for job schedule
here my question is ,i maintained dispatch time as send job with periodically in PO and i had maintained date/time in job process steps with some period.
when po message is triggered ,which time will be consider system.time specified in job schedule or dispatch time in Po.
    which one consider first?
    Thanks
    konidala

Dispatch time that is set up as part of the message output condition records, drives at which event does the output be transmitted. Conversely, the date/time during the batch job set up is the time when the batch job must execute the program.
For example, if you had selected the dispatch time for output NEU in the PO to be '1' and you had set up ME9F program as a background job running daily once at 1PM, when the PO is created and saved at 10AM, the output type NEU will be triggered and will be held in queue. At 1PM when ME9F program is run as part of the background job, it'll pick up this output type for execution and transmission.

  • CUPS: Printer always waits for more data, and finally times out.

I apologise if this should be categorised as" system administration" rather than "installation". The reason why I chose this category was that the error happened right after installing and setting up cups, so it should not have to do with fine-tuning or be the result of a particularly specific situation.
I have had a novel kind of problem with printing since I first installed Arch Linux:
Whenever I print - regardless of application -, my OKI 431 printer will always wait for more data after having completed the print job (as shown in its small display, where it keeps saying 'DATA' even after the last printed page has come out). After 25 to 30 seconds of such waiting, it will print out two pages, the first one empty, the second one saying:
    ERROR:
    timeout
    OFFENDING COMMAND:
    timeout
    STACK:
The printer display then goes back to saying 'ONLINE'. If I print several documents WITHIN this 25 to 30 sec delay, i.e. in fast succession, I only get the two pages once, i.e. after the last of these jobs has been printed.
What seems to be related to that is the status message on the "Printers" page of CUPS' Web interface: It says
Idle - "Sending data to printer."
all the time, even though I am not printing anything. (And this was the same before the update.)
Printing is otherwise completely fine - the one practical problem is I have an ever-growing pile of empty pages mixed with pages containing the above error message next to my printer, i.e. two extra pages after each printout. (The one workaround I have found so far is quickly switching off the printer after within the 25 - 30 secs time window.) I have tried to google this problem with various search term combinations, but have not been able to find pages specific to this problem anywhere.
What I have tried out was wiping the /etc/cups directory, updating cups, adding the printer again using lpadmin, and setting it as the default printer with lpoptions (both as explained in the Arch Wiki page). This has not changed anything relevant about the behaviour.
(The one effect this has had is that pointing some browsers (Opera, Dillo) to localhost:631 now gets a "Bad request" response from CUPS, but on most browsers (Mozilla, Qupzilla, Midori, Google Chrome, Lynx) it gets the normal Web interface. But this is probably not related to the problem.)
I will try to give some basic context:

  • Time Division Multiplexing and Processing Different Loops at the same time

Hi, I am new in Labview so you may find my questions too silly, sorry about that
I want to design an interface to control the test&measurement devices remotely. I have two desks and there are several devices on these desks. The real problem is to use two different devices at the same time. To do this I heard that I can use time division multiplexing. But I couldn't find enough information about it in Labview. Another advice I heard was to use a matrice and hold the on/off state of the devices in this matrice.
Where should I start the design to create such a system? Do you have any advices? Thank you in advance.
    My basic GUI is attached.

As Mike pointed out you cannot communicate in parallel on the GPIB bus - unless you have separate buses for each instrument - and that defeats the purpose of a bus. I am not sure about LXI.
    With regard to your VI:
    1. Do not use global variables to pass your data around.
    2. You should use the Array data type, not the Matrix data type. The Matrix data type in LabVIEW should only be used for matrix mathematical operations (linear algebra) which cannot be easily performed on the array data type. You have many more tools in LV to work with arrays.
    3. The Event structure needs to be in a parallel loop. This is basic data flow. If you do not understand this concept, get some training, either though the online tutorials or through a class.
    4. Use Value Changed events and place the button terminals inside the event case for that control.
    5. The parallel loops need to have a Wait or some other function which causes a delay. Otherwise, the first one to start executing could consume all available processor resources. These are called "greedy loops."
    6. Use integer data types for case structure selector inputs. Floating point values are coerced to integers at the inputs. If the values resulted from calculations, unexpected rounding effects may occur, resulting in the wrong case being selected. In some cases using type defed enums may be even better. The underlying data is integer and the enum item names show up in the case selector labels, helping to document what the case does or why it was selected.
    7. Remove the timeout case from the event structure since it never executes. Also avoid Use Default if Unwired on the terminal with your matrix (array) data. You never have a situation where an empty array is appropriate.
Before going any further with the program questions, you need to carefully define your requirements.  How many instruments will you have? How many can be active at one time? What kinds of communication between the program and the instruments is required? This includes commands to the instrument, data returned from the instrument, error handling, and timing requirements. What will be done with the data? Display, save to file, use to automatically control another device? What safety requirements or constraints need to be met? Once you have a good requirements document, then you can begin to determine what kind of program architecture is best suited to meet the needs.
I suspect that you may be making some things much more complicated than they need to be while ignoring other important issues.
