High Speed broadband? Not from my WRT54G

Please help. I recently upgraded my broadband to the highest speed available in my area, downloading at 15 Mbps. With a direct line connected to my modem, I am achieving that speed. As soon as I go wireless through my WRT54G Version 6, my speed goes to 4 Mbps. I upgraded my firmware. I chatted with tech support and they had me change my MTU. Still nothing. Can someone please help? Andrew

After upgrade did you resetted the router?? If not then reset the router for few seconds ... after reset again reconfigure therotuer with different wireless network name .... change the channel from 6 to 11 ...click save settings ... Click on Advanced Wireless settings>>Change the Beacon Interval to 75 >>Change the Fragmentation Threshold to 2304 Change the RTS Threshold to 2304 >>Click on "Save Settings" ... Again check the download speed ... Hope it works...

  • Is UNITE-CB1B @ 4G considered a high speed broadband connection? My Macbook does nothing well

    Is UNITE-CB1B @4G considered a high speed broadband connection. I've tried three times to download Mavericks and no go. Is it my Macbook or my Wifi? If it's my Wifi, I guess I'm just screwed. Very down on Apple right now.

    Make sure your MacBook Pro meets Mavericks requiremennts  > OS X Mavericks: System Requirements
    Mavericks is a 5.35GB file and requries a high speed broadband connection and requires 8GB or more of available disk space.
    Backup all important files before upgrading
    Checked to see how much space is available ??
    Click your Apple menu  top left in your screen. From the drop down menu click About This Mac > More Info > Storage
    Make sure there's at least 15% free disk space.
    You can test your download speed here >  Speedtest.net - The Global Broadband Speed Test
    Download speeds less than 10Mbps may time out before the 5.35GB file can download.
    Keep in mind, after installing Mavericks, if at some point you need to restore OS X or repair the startup disk, that requires a broadband connection as noted here > OS X Recovery

  • High pitched sound (not from the speakers)

    I bough an A665 on may 21st 2011, and since day 1 ive been hearing a high pitched sound coming from the underside of the laptop (directly above the RAM slots). Sometimes its there and sometimes its not (mostly it is...). I found out that if i scroll down on a webpage the sound goes away...only to come back when im finished scrolling.
    Any ideas?

    Update.....I get my laptop back yesterday (friday) for the second time ..They said they replaced the HD with a Western digital HD because the toshiba ones seem to be having a vibration issue...Well, they put another Toshiba HD in it not the WD....The same Buzzing, staticy noise is still there and on top of it all the new HD make alot more clicking noise then the previous one....When I sent the laptop in for the second time, eveything was working fine except for the same Buzzing, staticty noise...Well Now i still get the noise and on top of all that, I can not turn off the LED lights on the keyboard which I was able to do before, I can not run any Toshiba software (IE PC Health, Eco...Etc) I get Bios errors and other errors, and some things are freezing....Spoke to them again, and now had to call the Case Manager,,and all they said is to send it back to their main repair place, not the repair depot.....I told them all i want is another new machine....getting tired going 1 month with out a laptop and all you guys are doing is guessing, replacing with out testing and sending it back and they said they can not replace it.........This is one for the books.....I should of bought the HP or Dell I saw first......to be continued.

  • Onboard Wait On High Speed Capture

    I would like for an onboard program to wait for a high speed capture signal from a trigger input. Unfortunately, I have not had success with the flex_wait_on_condition function; it has always timed out before detecting the event. However, calls to the function flex_read_hs_cap_status identify that the high speed capture line is indeed toggling faster than the 3 second timeout. I use the following sequence of functions to configure the high speed capture:
    flex_configure_hs_capture(m_BoardID, NIMC_AXIS2, NIMC_HS_LOW_TO_HIGH_EDGE, 0);
    flex_begin_store(m_BoardID, ProgramNumber);
    flex_enable_hs_capture(m_BoardID, NIMC_AXIS2, NIMC_TRUE);
    flex_wait_on_condition(m_BoardID, NIMC_AXIS2, NIMC_WAIT, NIMC_CONDITION_HIGH_SPEED_CAPTURE, 0, 0,
    NIMC_MATCH_ANY, 30, 0);
    flex_end_store(m_BoardID, ProgramNumber);
    Axis 2 is configured as a open loop stepper axis with encoder resource 2 mapped to it.
    Any thoughts as to why this wouldn't work?
    Thanks!

    Thanks for the suggestion. It seems to work fairly well, although there is some delay between the trigger event and the execution of the critical section of code.
    Are you aware of a method to speed up execution of an on-board program? The critical section of code in the attached program fragment takes about 4ms to execute. With the added delay of the polled high speed capture line, I am limited to a ~150 Hz loop. I would like to increase the execution time by about twice.
    Also, a command from the host computer seems to preempt the on-board program, causing it to take up to ten times as long to complete. Is there a way to set the priority of the on-board program task above host communication?
    Thanks for you assistance,
    Mike

    I got my code but when i try downloading it it says retry as net connection is slow, but i am on a high speed broadband and all the other sites are opening simultaneously then why this problem?

    Because Apple's not spent those billions of bucks lying around on a modern, high-speed delivery system or providing DVDs for those who don't have high-speed connections or uncapped DL capabilities.

  • How to update without high speed access

    How do I get system or other updates efficiently with a new iMac Intel Duo that only has access to 28.8 dial up internet access? The download time adds up to days. Is there a CD update we can get every 3-4 months or something like that? High speed has not come our area of rural Iowa.

    Hi GozerMonster!
    Take a blank CD to an Apple retail store, and you will probably be able to download and burn updates there, on a demo Mac.
    If you do not have an Apple retail store in your area, you can download any update, you may need, on any computer, and then burn to a CD for use on your Mac.
    For a faster download, do you have a friend or relative with a high-speed connection?
    Visit your local Public Library, they may offer access to computers with a high-speed connection.
    Some bookstores & internet cafes have High-Speed connections. If you, a friend or relative, has a portable computer, so this may work for you.
    Good Luck!

  • How can I stop spam from someone called AT&T High Speed Internet? I do not know what the email address is.

    I am receiving 100's of spam emails. They are all advertising different types of products but they all say they are from AT&T High Speed Internet. I have used the junk filter on them but it does not pick them up as junk. I have to do it manually each time. I have contacted my UVerse provider and they cannot assist because it is getting through Yahoo to Thunderbird. They say that it is a problem that I will have to have assistance from Thunderbird to resolve so that I can have this listed as junk and will not have to do this manually. I am at my wit's end. Please, please help me!

    Yahoo has its own junk mail filter (Spamguard), which you should confirm is enabled:
    * [https://help.yahoo.com/kb/mail/stop-spam-yahoo-mail-sln3227.html Mail Help | - SLN3227 - Stop spam in Yahoo Mail]
    The significance of this is that marking messages as junk in Thunderbird probably isn't integrated with Yahoo's system, so Yahoo may not be getting trained to block them. You might need to go into Yahoo from time to time and mark accumulated junk as spam.
    Separately, there are solutions for filtering spam on your computer as the mail is downloaded from Yahoo. Thunderbird has a built-in filter, as described here: [[Thunderbird and Junk / Spam Messages]]. However, if that isn't as effective you would like, there are third party products as well.

  • Benefit from high speed arrival..........or not ?

    Superfast Cymru, high speed internet, is coming to our exchange, Newport Pembrokeshire. We are 8 miles from the exchange and currently are lucky to get 1 Meg.
    Will our speed go up "proportionately" with the arrival of high speed, assuming that BT will only cable to a box on the outskirts of Newport ??
    Would be very happy with 3-4 Meg !
    NB - please no feedback on how lucky we are to get 1meg currently given our location (we know).

    Hi Gorillaman,
    Was their a cabient number on the http://dslchecker.bt.com/adsl database for your number?
    EG Exchange xxxxxx is served by Cabinet n
    All three cabinets on the exchange Newport Dyfed exchange are planned to get a FTTC DSLAM cabinet, however it all depends how far you are away from the cabinet that cabinet which will determin if you can get FTTC fibre broadband and what potenitial speed.
    If you can say what cabinet you are on, the community may know where it is and from that you can roughtly estimate what to expect in terms of speed (bearing in mide the your line maybe longer, and line quality will also have a contributing factor)

  • Changed from dial up to high speed

    The area I live in finally has high speed (wireless), so I have a new ISP and broadband connection. Also Internet Exlporer was acting up so I now am using Firefox.
    If I put in a new cd to download to my ipod (5th gen.) I get...unable to connect to the CDDB server. Network connection timed out. I called my ISP and all is ok. also can't buy any tunes. In frustration I've downloaded itunes again with my new user name. This page had my old user name. I've flushed the DNS settings in widows. I've spent hours yesterday trying to get this, which must be a simple thing, to work and came within an eyelash of putting my fist through the monitor!
    I tried calling the help line with it's push 1 for this and 3 for that and on and on, what a joke, got nowhere.
    Does anyone know it this is firefox, or something not set correctly, and how to set it, or what the heck is the problem?

    Is this the error?
    Disk cannot be read from or written to error syncing iPod in iTunes.

  • No High Speed Internet AT ALL from ANY CARRIER

    In the area of Old Church in Hanover county I live in we do not have high speed internet from any carrier.    I telecommute and must use VPN to establish a secure connection to my company's network, so Satellite is not an option.  The Mobile Broadband signal is so weak I've had to purchase a amplifier and antenna to boost the signal to make it bearable.   There is a switch station just a mile down the road - why can't the equipment be put in there so we can get DSL?

    I do have wireless mobile broadband, but the signal is very  weak so high speed it ain't.  For whatever reason the county (or someone) to date has not allowed towers in my area so what I'm getting is coming from over 7 miles away.   It's tolerable with a Wilson antenna and amplifier, and there's still a things we can't do, but at least I don't drop my VPN connection multiple times a day.  I have to use VPN because I work from home - otherwise I would have probably gone with a Satellite ISP.     I did check into the T-1 and the cheapest price is still about 400 bucks.   If it's split 3 ways its still 133 a month and I'm not sure I want to go that way.
    It would be great is they put the equipment in the switch, and maybe I can get some of the neighbors to together to start campaigning for it.

  • HT3180 I owned an Apple tv and after upgrade my internet to higher speed my Apple Tv  does not work the only message that show on the screen said if time and dates are not found go to apple/support/tv tried almost everything and nothing.  Please somebody

    In most scenarios you shouldn't need to forward ports, however if you need to, you may be best contacting your ISP.
    As with most router issues, I would recommend that you contact your ISP with details of your problem (assuming that it was your ISP that provided it to you).
    There are simply too many manufacturers with different software features and settings and often different names for such features and settings, that the best advice will likely come from those that are knowledgeable about your particular router.
    Make sure your router/computer allows access over the following ports

    I changed from a dial up to a high speed network and can no longer get Firefox to work as my browser. What can I do.
    I did try to download Firefox again, but still will not work.

    Download a fresh Firefox copy and save the file to the desktop.
    * Firefox 6.0.x: http://www.mozilla.com/en-US/firefox/all.html
    * Uninstall your current Firefox version.
    * Do not remove personal data when you uninstall the current version.
    Remove the Firefox program folder before installing that newly downloaded copy of the Firefox installer.
    * It is important to delete the Firefox program folder to remove all the files and make sure that there are no problems with files that were leftover after uninstalling.
    Your bookmarks and other profile data are stored elsewhere in the Firefox Profile Folder and won't be affected by a reinstall, but make sure that you do not select to remove personal data if you uninstall Firefox.
