High usage of MEMORYCLERK_SQLOPTIMIZER

What is MEMORYCLERK_SQLOPTIMIZER? Under what situations, this clerk will use more memory?
I have a server which is SQL Server 2012 and MEMORYCLERK_SQLOPTIMIZER is consuming almost half of the max memory configured.

See if the following memory leak issue pertains to your situation - verify the symptoms section: https://support.microsoft.com/kb/2803065

  • High usage in memory

    Dear All,
I have a situation here that high usage of system memory, When i check in st22  i cud see only short dump relating to it.
I checked in st06, 80 % of my memory is being used, only 20 % left.
When i check the same in sm37 and there are only three jobs running which took only low memory.system is paging, How do i exactly find out which job is taking high consumption of my memory.
where can i check all these.

    Hi,
When you activate an InfoCube, rebuild an aggregate, delete the data of an InfoCube or perform other operations, the SAP BW system creates fact tables. By default, data compression is not activated in these cases. However, usually the numeric values in a fact table are correlated or are located in a small segment of the value range. For this data, you can achieve good compression rates with less memory space requirements and a better utilization of the DB2 buffer pool and, therefore, less input and output.
Reduces application server access to Database. Ie.g. set the number range buffer for one dimension to 500, the system will keep 500 sequential numbers in memory SAP OSS note 130253: Notes on upload of transaction data into BW
After the load, reset the number ranges buffer to its original state: minimize unnecessary memory allocation.

  • Shared memory (System V-style) - High usage of phys memory and page outs

    Hi!
I get a much higher usage of physical memory when I use shared memory than I would expect. Please, I would really need someone to confirm my conclusions, so that I can revise my ignorance in this subject.
In my experiments I create a shared memory segment of 200 MB and I have 7 processes attaching to it. I have a ws of 1 GB.
I expect to see what I see when I attach to the shared memory segment in terms of virtual size, i.e. SIZE in prstat. After attaching (mapping it) to the process all 7 processes are about ~203 MB each and this makes sense. RSS, in prstat, is about 3 MB for each process and this is ok to me too.
It is what I see when each of the 7 processes start to write a simple string like 'Hello!' in parallel to each page in their shared memory segment that I get surprised. I run out of memory on my ws after a while and the system starts to wildly page out physical memory to disk so that the next 'Hello!' can be written to the next page in the shared memory segment. It seems that each page written to in the shared memory chunk is mapped into each process private address space. This means that the shared memory is not physically shared, just virtually shared. Is this correct?
Can memory be physically shared, so that my 7 processes only use 200 MB? ISM? DISM?
I create a shared memory segment in a C-program with the following calls:
    shmid = shmget(key, SHM_SIZE, 0644 | IPC_CREAT)
    data = shmat(shmid, (void *)0, 0);Thanks in advance
    /Sune

Your problem seemed reasonable. What were you doing wrong?

  • Do i need web kit 2 web process i keep getting high usage errors

Do i need the file webkit 2 web process? i keep getting high usage errors

Problem solved, though awkwardly. Changed my default browser to Chrome. Since this problem was issues encountered using Safari, that eliminated them. I'd had Chrome installed on my Mac for a long time, but only used it sporadically because I never found it as fast as and I just preferred Safari. But I'm finding now that it's been set as default and I'm not running them both at the same time that Chrome is actually living up to the zippy-speeds Google always said it had. So yay! for me.

  • High Usage, Old PC and Modem Dial-up broadband, La...

Hello , AVG keeps popping up on Firefox with one of the latest usage being over 300mb+, when simply having 4 or so tabs open.  High Usage, I have Old PC windows XP and Modem Dial-up broadband, Latest Firefox Browser 15.0.1 (sept2012)
Also netgear Hub  Sister uses as wireless I somethimes use with Network cable on my Laptop, Windows 7 again Firefox.
Tried talking to BT customer service but no solution.
Whilst as a amatuer photographer and massive music fan I could be on Fb, Youtube, MySpace, msn all at the same time, msn is Bonkers crazy on flash and adverts etc, and I use an AD remover for FB.
I have tried disabling add-ons and Plug ins on firefox, but this year have had prob 3 or 4 Java, adobe Flash, and Firefox updtaes thus far. i am sure this background stuff could be eating up my usage, yet a non tech user cannot possibly do anything about this.
I post many pics on some sites and looking to do my own web site  but if Uploading my images (which i reduce) and viewing others downloading etc I know that would be part of the usage, but I only started getting the Usage Allowance emails in May  or June 2012, there was No issue the previous years with BT but Now it is an issue.
But I am pretty sure I was on Unlimited broadband but BT has put me on Option 1 10gb.
This is more of an info post to try and locate what can be done to reduce the Usage allowance
    Thanks
    DW

Thanks a lot for the reply.
I installed the update, and I think the '..\services.exe' issue might have overcome. (NOT 100% sure though)
    But the machine still, Hangs
Or, Auto Shutdown occurs with the msg. '.. the process lsass.exe has terminated unexpectedly'
Let me elaborate the Hang situation a bit, this is very new to my experience. I can launch some programs like Notepad.exe, but when forefox or IE does not run. TaskManager icon appears at the system tray, but the program interface does not appear, as if TaskManager is running while minimized.
And when i try to shutdown the computer from the start menu, the User Log off/Switch User option appears, instead of the Shutdown options.
Any help will be highly appreciated.
    Thank you for your time.

One external app on 1st gen iPhone 5.  Cellular Network Data Sent = 1.2GB.  What could cause such a high usage?

I had the same issue, whilst my IPhone 5 iOS 7.0.2  was in my pocket all morning, I checked the usage on traffic monitor and it said data usage 1.1 GB.  My setting are:
    icloud:
    mail:off, contacts:on, calenders:on, reminders:on, Safari:off, Notes:on, passbook:on, photos:off, Documents & Data:on(whatsapp only), Find my Iphone:on
    itunes & apps store:
    music:off, Video:off itunes match:off Automatic downloads music:off, apps:off, books:off, update:off
    Podcasts: Auto downloads:off
itunes wifi sync: last sync Friday 11 Oct 2013 (not this morning)
I am using an inmarsat satelite connection if anybody knows any other settings that could cause vast amounts of data to download please advise. After thought would'nt it be nice if apple had an all in one feature(switch) that only allowed Push notifications and safari usage through. Thanks in advance.

  • Unusually High Usage?

I received a high usage warning on 19 Dec and within one day the usage had gone from 32Gb to 45Gb.  As we only use Bb for web pages You Tube and Facebook does this seem too high.  Admittedly son has been on You Tube a lot in the last few days but have used nore than in the whole of last month.  Guidance appreciated.  Thank You

    This should help.
Why is my broadband usage so high?

  • Roaming Fraud in Telecoms and High-Usage Reporting standards

    Hi,
I am sure that there are people out there performing software development on telecoms systems to process high usage reports in order to reduce roaming fraud.  I am hoping that someone can point me at a forum they may use so that I may join them to exchange
    information.
    Can anyone help please?
    Many thanks in advance.

    Kai,
Thanks for the question (and input). As you probably know, we have several partners that provide WLP-ready monitoring solutions providing insight into the utilization, availability, and performance of portal components, including Acsera, Quest, Intersperse, and Wily. In general, these tools are sophisticated and powerful, providing features such as SLA management, alerting, and drill down capability to meet the needs of operational, support, and development personnel tasked with detecting, isolating, and diagnosing performance and availability related issues.
In addition, we recognize the need to provide business users with straightforward statistics on utilization and performance. While we do not plan on providing such capabilities out of the box for the 9.2 release, we are actively investigating the possibility of leveraging the Analytics component of ALUI to provide such reporting capabilities for Weblogic Portal in the future.

  • High usage of physical memory

    hello,
i  just bought my first mac few days ago, and i have a question about the physical memory usage,
my mac is macbook pro 13' with retina display and 8 GB, and i think that for some reason my memory usage is significantly high then it should.
when i'm just using safari, i have about 600 MB available (and sometimes even about 200 MB)
is it fine? what is the regular memory usage in the mac?

The new OSX's will use as much RAM as is available, if possible.  No longer is the amount the metric, but 'Pressure'.  If if is green, all is well.

    Ciao.

  • Why does my 4S stay warm and display very high usage?

I have an iPhone 4S and the battery life is unbelievably poor. Sitting in my pocket on standby it drains 7-10% per hour. However, if I go to settings > general > usage it shows a very high amount of usage - say 40 minutes usage for every 1 hour standby. On top of this the phone is almost always warm to the touch. Obviously it's not meant to be this way.
I have tried restoring to factory settings. I have tried recovery/dfu restoring. Even with adding no data or apps to the basic restore, I'm still seeing the same strange usage and battery drain.
On top of this I've also installed iOS 5.0.1 betas 1 and 2. Again I saw no improvement.
Any ideas on what further I can try? I'd really love to be able to get through a day without having to constantly have the phone on charge.

Just in case anyone comes here wondering about the answer to my issues. I got the phone replaced and the replacement has much better battery life with the exact same software, so I'm guessing that I just had a defective phone.
It's weird though as all the signs pointed to it being a software issue. Oh well, it's not like I hadn't tried everything, so I just got it replaced (gotta love that customer service). It was interesting watching the Genius say stuff like "ah but you can fix the battery life problem by turning off X..." [goes through settings] "oh, you already have that turned off"
The usage numbers still seem a bit high on the new one, but on day 1 it's managed 14h27m standby, 4h24m usage (real usage is more like 2h) and it's on 33% battery remaining at nearly midnight. That's just about acceptable, and an upgrade to 5.0.1 should get it running even better I presume. The old phone would probably have died a good few hours ago, so this one is about twice as good.

  • Extremely high usage of 890L every 6 hours!

My Jetpack does either a download or uplaod (don't know which) on it's own 4 days a day, at 6 hour intervals. I have gone to the Verizon store, called customer service numerous times, talked to tech service level 1 and level 2 and NO ONE can answer my question or is willing to do what they can to fix this problem. Commomn sense tells me that no one in our house is using thier laptops at 6 hours intervals, day and night, and using huge amounts of data. Can anyone help on this? My next step is my Texas State consumer office, lawyer for class action, or both.
I have 3 laptops using the Jetpack. I have now had all 3 wiped tested, wiped clean and reloaded to make sure I had nothing on my end. Verizon will not even look at the data and tell me if it is upload or download.
Been a customer for over 10 years. Will not stay any longer after contract experies in December.

You cannot sue VZW through a class action.  You waived that right when you signed your contract.  You can only settle a dispute as an individual in small claims court.
To find out what is happening you must shutdown and isolate your computers so that only one is connected at a time.  Review the data logs that VZW can share with you and check for updates around those problem times.  Through isolation you will be able to determine which device your usage is coming from.  Once you know the device then you need to install a monitor to look at its internet activity.  That is the only way.
VZW will not disclose specific information about its users to anyone without a court order.  That includes the account owners themselves.  If you want to find out what is consuming your data then you must conduct an investigation on your own with your own devices and equipment.

  • SQL Developer - High usage of memory !

    Hello All,
I have downloaded SQL Developer 4 today and when i started working on it, my computer memory started to IRK a lot. So when i checked in "Task Manager", i found something very strange.
The memory consumption was too high (almost 350 MB). Can someone tell me why is this version of SQL Developer is using such as huge amount of memory or is there some workaround for this issue.
I tried to attach the screenshot but that did not happen.
    Any help is greatly appreciated.
    Thanks in advance,
    Aravind S

Why is that number, 'too much?'
What Windows reports is rarely accurate with Java applications.
How much RAM do you have on your machine, and how much was free when your machine started to misbehave?

  • TS3899 Extremely high usage levels by Mail app

I recently checked my usage in settings and was shocked to see that my Mail app was taking up about 550 MB of space.  I deleted all of my emails in all visible folders and that amount did not budge.  I tried to sync without success.  How can this be resolved?  How do I reduce the amount of space this app is taking up?

    Hi bugsizzy,
i have the same problem did you find a solution?
    thanks

  • High usage with Jet Pack

I am having the same issue with Verizon, just switched to the Jet Pack with them a month ago, I have upgraded to 10 GB and after 6 days it said I was at 75%.  75%!  That is ridiculous, I have 10 GB.  They seem to give the same answer to everyone, shut the modem or the computer off at night.  Really?  That is just ridiculous, obviously if this many people are having issues, Verizon you need to fix it! I got a new Sim card today, have to see how that goes, but I am basically afraid to use the computer at this point, since I know I will get a text shortly saying that I am over my limit after 10 days into the billing cycle.  Just like everyone else, I don't stream movies, just basic internet usage. I want to cancel my service because now I have to upgrade AGAIN!  My internet is costing me $100 per month!  I left AT&T at $35 a month, your cost is excessive and unnecessary!  I also have 2 phones with you as well and as soon as my contract is up, good bye Verizon!  I have been with you for 9 years, and I know there has to be a better way than this.
    Signed,
    Irritated!

I completely sympathize. I have posted elsewhere my experience and disgust with Verizon about the issue of large data sessions of multiple GBs when there is no computer or devise connected to the Jetpack.  But worse is the total arrogance of the Verizon representatives I have spoken to about this issue. Forgive me if I re-post, but, I want to share my experience as widely as possible to warn-off anyone from doing business with Verizon. I have 5 iphones and despite streaming videos on youtube, etc, I have never exceeded the 3GB plans on any phone. Now I have had a jetpack for 5 days with only one laptop from my office which is connected to the jetpack and have 7 GB of data use, having never streamed a video, never downloaded a file other than short emails, and have all automatic updates off on my computer. In fact, the way our organization configures our laptops, it is impossible to update or download software, and certainly I would never use the office laptop for streaming, etc. I originally purchased the jetpack so I could read and send work emails while on vacation where I do not otherwise have internet access and using my phone is cumbersome. What a terrible mistake and please, everyone, do not make the same error by doing business with Verizon! Anyway, here is my original post.
"I wish I had read these posts before purchasing a jetpack and opening an account with Verizon. I purchased a new 6GB data plan. Within hours of connecting the devise to the network it registered over 3G of data usage, even when there were no devises (e.g, no computer or any other wireless devise) logged into to the jetpack. Two days later there was another 1.5 GB data session, again when there was no devise connected to the jetpack. In fact, there has only ever been one computer connected to the jetpack (as access is password protected), and that computer was on an airplane several hundred miles away when the data session occurred. I called customer service and spoke to someone named Jeff (he refused to identify himself further) who indicated that it is "normal" and not unexpected since the Jetpack updates and connects to the network, especially soon after activation. He admitted that there would be large data sessions even when all devises were shut, and the data use (e.g.,3GB) was just due to "normal" network activity. Needless to say I expressed my outrage, but he said, "that is just the way the system works and I should not be surprised by intermittent large data sessions, even if there is no devise connected to the jetpack". I asked him, "Can you imagine if your phone suddenly showed 4GB of extra data usage, evening though there was no email downloaded or website visited, just by virtue of your phone being on Verizon's network?" His response was simple: this is not a phone. Beware of Verizon jetpack. I certainly will terminate my service and end any other relationships with Verizon as soon as I can. This really is unethical, and possibly criminal."
