Higher quality Music on iPod Touch

I downloaded all my songs under 256 and most have converted to the higher quality 256. How do i convert the songs on my iPod Touch to the higher Quality. i do not use Match on iPod because I don't want to be tethered to wifi in order to listen to random music..Thanks!

I'm in the same boat.  It does not make sense to have iMatch when you can't listen to songs without being in proximity to wifi.  Playlists work just fine but they don't work with iMatch.  It seems like a very poor solution to turn off iMatch to keep songs on a device.  Have you figured out a way to deal with this?  I'm currently trying to get a refund from Apple for this deceptive product.  They do a very poor job of explaining exactly what you are getting.  Selling a lot of hype but not a viable solution unless you're permanently in proximity to wifi.  How, for example, is someone supposed to listen to music on an airplane?

How many hours of high quality music fits on a 16 gigabyte iPod?

A "16Gb" iPod nano has enough room to store about 14.5Gb of music, assuming this to be the only media stored there.  If by "high quality" you mean lossless, using Apple Lossless/ALAC format, that equates to around 30 hours of music (there will be some variations depending on the nature of the music and the degree to which ALAC compresses the audio data).  AIFF files are larger, though of the same quality as ALAC - maximum in this case is approx. 20 hours.
For "iTunes Plus" quality (256kbps lossy compression) files will be between one-third and one-quarter the size of the same music in ALAC, so the total time goes up to around 90-120 hours.  My 16Gb 7th gen nano is currently full to capacity using a mix of 256kbps AAC and 320kbps MP3 files - iTunes reports the total time as 4.9 days (117 hours).

  • Higher quality music

During my most recent iTunes song purchase, I was offered some special format, high-quality download. It's $1.29 instead of $0.99. Does anyone believe the quality is better? About 30% better?
    Thanks!
    Lindsay

The sound quality will be better with this but this is not the only selling point of the extra $.30 for the higher quailty version. By paying $1.29 you are also getting music that can be played on any music player that can play AAC files. If you own an iPod and never want another music player then pay the thirty cents for the quailty. If you think you may at some point want to switch to another mp3 player, then you have the satisfaction of knowing you have no restrictions from the iTunes plus (higher quality) music, and you can play that music anywhere you wish.
Hope this helped your decision making.

  • HT1960 how to recover deleted music from ipod touch

how to recover deleted music from ipod touch?

This is not a complicated problem. And you can easilly solve it. Here is the way about how to recover music from iPod.
1 Connect your iPod to your computer to restore custom ringtones and ringtones saved to the computer.
2 Click the "iPod" button in iTunes, or select your iPod in the sidebar if you enabled the option to show the sidebar.
3 Select the "Tones" tab, check the box for each ringtone you want to transfer to your iPhone, and then click "Sync."
Sometimes a 3 party tool such as Data Recovery may help you in a easy way.

  • How to transfer music including purchased music from ipod touch to my computer running windows 7

how to transfer music including purchased music from ipod touch to my computer running windows 7

    Hi, dphoward525
If you've purchased the music from itunes, when you plug the iPod in to the pc, it'll ask if you want to transfer purchases to the computer. Due to the restriction ,we can only transfer our music from PC to iPod , but not transferring from iPod to PC if you’ve not purchased them .In this case, transferring your files from iPod to computer can be a hassle , I think you will need a practical third-party solution . In order to find out how to transfer music from iPod to computer, you need to seach more information on the internet.

  • Music quality iphone or ipod touch

Is music quality of i pod touch better than that of iphone ?

Quality is based on how the file was encoded and your earphones. I would think there would be zero difference between the iPhone and Touch. It's the same iPod app (software) on both devices.

  • How Do I Keep Music On Ipod Touch 4th Gen., But Not On Computer?

Yes, hello, I am wanting to cut down on the amount of space that is on my computer (I almost have 3GB in music and photos on my laptop.. lol, mostly music, though).  However, the problem I see with this right off the bat is that if I delete my music and photos (since they are also on my 4th generation ipod touch), they will be deleted of my ipod.  I know that I can manually manage music, and I know how to do that.  What I need to know is if there is a way that when I go to 'sync' my ipod manually, if I can just update with NEW songs and NEW photos- or, pretty much just 'sync' newly added files (that way, the newly deleted files will not be taken off my ipod).  If I go and 'uncheck' a playlist, it automatically will take it off my ipod.  What I really would like is an option to just add new material to each playlist, or add a new playlist, but not sync the whole ipod or the whole playlist (since, again, it would just end up deleting my songs that would no longer be on my computer).
I really don't mind itunes, however, I'm already figuring I will have to more than likely find a way to add my new songs and photos to my ipod WITHOUT itunes  (since this type of ipod, 4th generation touch, does not have the 'hard disk' feature, I need to know if there is any other way to upload music and photos).
However, if possible, I still want to be able to have the option to add to previous playlists and even create new playlists on Itunes so I can delete files off my computer, but not my ipod.  I just think it is a little inconvienant that with all of these high storage capacity ipods that they don't make it more clear on HOW to have that much space on the ipod WITHOUT filling up and slowing down my computer in the process
Also, I probably could just back-up my music and photos on my flashdrive (it is a 32GB), however, out of curiosity-  even if I AM able to find a way to delete songs and photos off my computer and still keep them on my ipod while still being able to add new songs and photos and create and add to previous playlists WITHOUT having to do a full sync, will there even be a way for my Icloud to NOT be affected and delete the now 'missing from itunes' songs and photos?  I am a firm believer that multiple back-up sources do not hurt (esp. since my flashdrive I've had for a few years now, and ICloud isn't a bad option for a secondary storage- although, I perfer skydrive)

Since you said "btw my ipod is frozen " first:
    Try:
    - iOS: Not responding or does not turn on
    - Also try DFU mode after try recovery mode
How to put iPod touch / iPhone into DFU mode « Karthik's scribblings
    - If not successful and you can't fully turn the iOS device fully off, let the battery fully drain. After charging for an least an hour try the above again.
    - Try on another computer
    - If still not successful that usually indicates a hardware problem and an appointment at the Genius Bar of an Apple store is in order.

If you regained use of the iPod without restoring (doubtful, restoring will also update the iPod)) then do the following:
Syncing to a "New" Computer or replacing a "crashed" Hard Drive: Apple Support Communities
When you restore from backup the iPod will also be updated.

  • Cannot delete music from ipod touch, tried everything suggested thus far.

I have tried several suggestions up to this point and nothing has worked. It is my understanding that everything in My Music, (on my PC) transfers to the iTunes program, either manually or automaticlly. It is also my understanding that if I add or delete music from iTunes, that it will automatically be added or deleted on my iPod Touch, (4th gen). Well, none of this has proven to be true...at best, it is sporatic and frustrating. Any new ideas out there?

    Buy doing what?...
You need to be more specific about what you are trying. "I've tried several suggestions" tells us nothing. You've tried my suggestion (but I made two - dependant upon what you are doing), but you haven't told me how you are managing your iPod, are you using Sync or manually managing? Without that knowledge, everything else is meaningless.
If you are using Sync, and you have selected *Sync only ticked songs and videos,* then un-ticking a song and then performing a Sync will remove the song. So what are you doing?

  • ITunes won't sync music with iPod Touch (5th Gen) After 7.0.3 Update.

    Hello,
I am just wondering has any solutions as to what might be the problem.
I have a 5th Gen iPod Touch and up until I updated it to the latest version of iOS 7.0.3 and iTunes 11.1.2.31 everything had been working fine.
Now since that update no new music will sync to my iPod. Applications, Photos and Movies work ok. I buy my music off the iTunes store. If I download an app for instance on my iPod the next time I go to iTunes it starts to download into the libary with no problem.
My computer recognises my iPod and then starts the sync process at the very end it says "Copying diagnostic information" then onto "Waiting for changes to be applied" that last step lasts for about a minute.
I can download tracks and albums onto my iTunes library onto my Windows 7 PC but when applying it onto my iPod nothing gets applied.
So, my question is has anyone found out that Apple is aware of the problem and are they going to fix it with another software update or is there anything that I can do that will resolve this problem.
I have tries de-authorizing my computer and then authrorizing it again to sync content onto my iPod.
The only way for now to get new content onto my iPod is to download directly to my iPod my using "Purchased" in iTunes store.
Thanks for your reponces in advance!
    Best,
    OrlaG

This is what I am experiencing. The top image is a playlist I made on the ipod. The second image in when I go to "On This iPod" > Purchased > Music
Could it be the iPod. All the other tracks work perfectly. Saturday was when this started

  • How do I sync music from ipod touch to computer.

I have 5.5GB of music on my ipod touch that I copied from my own cd's to an old computer that are now on my ipod touch.  I want to sync the music from my ipod touch to my computer.  itunes lists all the music but a message comes up when I try to listen to it on my computer saying "this song cannot be used because the original file cannot be found.
I have all the music on my ipod touch and it all works and I don't want to lose it if I sync.  It says when I sync that all music on my ipod touch will be lost, it will only sync with the music on the computer.  HELP.

  • I had problems with my computer as a result I have lost all my music from my itunes account. Does anyone know how to transfer the music from ipod touch back into itunes?

Hi, My computer recently got wiped. When everything was re-installed I found that I had no music in my itunes account. It is all on my ipod touch (and very old ipod) but I cannot figure out how to transfer it from the ipod touch into my itunes. Can anyone help? Thanks in advance A

  • Can't add music to ipod touch even though computer and itunes recognize it

I have an ipod touch 4th generation that has suddenly stopped allowing me to add any music to it. It worked absolutely great with no problems for about a year  and suddenly when I load it up on itunes I can't add any music to it at all. if I try and drag any music from my computer on to it, I get this no icon as you can see
Same if I try and add music from my itunes library.
I've done pretty much everything I can think of to try and fix this, I've completely wiped itunes from my computer and re-installed, I've made sure that my ipods ios is up to date, I've reset my ipod, I've completely erased my ipod and restored it to factory settings. I have an old backup but it fails every time I try and restore it, saying that the backup session failed. I've tried resetting the lockdown folder as recommended but when I delete it, itunes can't connect to my ipod, so I ended up restoring the lockdown folder back to where it was from my trash can. I've made sure all my drivers are up to date and my computer is AMD so i know its not an intel chipset/ipod issue. I've turned off my antivirus and computer security programs and that made no difference at all.
These problems are the same when tried on another computer and I'm sure I've done other things as well but I'm drawing a blank trying to think them up.
I have an old ipod mini that has absolutely no problems at all using the same itunes and computer so I'm pretty sure this issue is located just on this ipod. I bought it used on amazon so the warranty and service coverage have already expired, so I kinda have to figure out how to fix it myself..
Anybody help at all with this would be greatly appreciated

I don't see how it could be windows causing the issue since my other ipod works fine with this installation of windows on this computer and I don't at the moment have anyway to back up what I have on my computer in order to re-install windows, but maybe if nobody else has another solution I'll look into it. Thank you for your help and suggestions
