Highest quality intro video after effects

i am puzzling to get the highest quality out of my after effects video as a full screen intro for my webpage
but what i ask is , what format ? wich Steps ? and what's most compatible?
yvesm

highest quality
That is an indefinite variable. You can do the best quality output but it may not be functional for your website as bandwidth is a concern and you dont want it to struggle to buffer.
For HTML5 video types that are compatible for various devices regardless of it supporting Flash or not, you need to supply at least 3 formats: .mp4, .ogv, .webm. Read here why: http://caniuse.com/video
Another alternative is to upload your video to Youtube and embed a video from there to your webpage. You just need to upload 1 file. Youtube will take care of conversion, optimization, load balancing, etc... And will play HTML5 wherever possible and will fall back to a flash player where HTML5 is not possible.

  • Quality loss on After Effects clip in Premiere - See Image

This problem will be the death of me. Look at the image for more clarity on the issue.
It used to be fine, but now the AE clip renders blurry in Premiere and the clip renders beautifully
in AE but with moments of blurriness like its bouncing back and forth. I have tried exporting in both programs
as AVI, MOV, TGA sequence. Still no luck. Help?

The image is just small since the forum states that it will reduce the size if it is larger.
I figured it out... it hardly makes sense though since the problem wasnt cosntant, it was jumping around.
The clip was embedded within about 6 pre-compositions. The Premiere file originally did not use square aspect ratio
but I hacked it to change the it to square. The after effects files werent using swaure ratio so I changed some, only
to realize premiere was already compensating, so I changed it back.
Somewhere there was an error with the aspect ratio and the combination of effects and nested compositions made it freak out.
I previewed every step on full, set the nested compositions to retain quality and change all the pizel ratios back to what they were before. Problem solved.

  • Trying to export highest quality audio, video needed but doesn't matter.

    Hello,
What I'm hoping to do is to create a video for youtube with the utmost highest audio settings and quality, and just a black video with the lowest settings.
I generated a simple tone in Audition and saved it as a .wav with 96k Hz, Stereo 32-bit.
And in Premiere I chose H.264 with AAC with these settings
Now these aren't the settings I am set on, if there are better settings I'm willing to change but my problem is when it exports the Sample Rate is 48k Hz.
Is there any way I can get the bitrate up to 512 kbps as well?
Note that youtube has to have a video pass in there too.
    Thank you.

    Choppsta,
If you are an audio engineer, please forgive me and feel free to jump to the end of this post. If not, perhaps I can offer a little information.
Keep in mind that the number of samples per second is not actually a perfect indication of sound quality. It is one indication of how true the reproduction of the original analog signal is, but that leads me to ask what the original signal is? What sample rate was used in the creation of the digital signal.
Sample rate only applies to the original conversion from Analog to Digital. After that, increasing it has zero value. In fact, changing it requires resampling which can only lead to a generational loss. There is no quality increase created by sampling previously sampled audio.
The other thing that determines the quality is the number of quantization steps. The more steps, the more accurate the reproduction.
Most video's audio is 48,000 samples per second, while CD quality is 44,100.
So, unless the original audio was recorded at 96,000 samples per second, there is no value to exporting that way. I understand that you encoded the tone at 96K, but that tone isn't your ultimate goal is it? Because 48,000 samples is more than sufficient for any tone you can actually hear. A 1KHz tone would be sampled 24 times on the positive portion of each wave and 24 times on the negative portion. Well more than enough for you to not be able to detect the difference on any PC or television between that and a 44,100 tone. Sampling twice as often will not be detectable by even the most finicky audiophile. Not at 1KHz anyway.
Now, if the analog sound is quite rich, and the analog is sampled at 96,000, then yes, an audiophile may very well be able to detect it in the higher ranges and overtones. But not most music, and certainly not by anyone who thinks that CD quality is sufficiently high quality. Also, most PCs and televisions are not capable of reproducing the audio as accurately as 96,000 might indicate. It would require special hardware (more on that later).
Having said all of that, if I export the video using 96K for the audio, I see that it is apparently coming out at 48K when imported into Adobe Premiere Pro and Audition.
MediaInfo seems to be confused by the audio also. Or it is trying to tell us something. Stick around for a really geeky explanation of what it is trying to tell us.
GSpot sees it as 48K AAC LC.  And that is really the key to the answer to your question.
    Now we get really geeky.
AAC+ Version 2 uses spectral band replication (SBR) to enhance the compression efficiency in the frequency domain. MPEG-4 AAC LC decoders without SBR support (most of them?) will decode the AAC LC part of the audio, resulting in audio output with only half the sampling frequency, thereby reducing the audio bandwidth.
That is why you are seeing 48K. Unless you have the right hardware tucked away in a fancy studio somewhere? Then there is probably software/firmware that came with that equipment that is capable of playing it.
And no, there is no way to bump it to 512Kb/s, and no real reason to do so either. Even if you could, you might find that no player could actually replicate it, or maybe even attempt to play it.
    I hope this helps.
Edit: This might be a perfect question to ask of Jason Levine. He is an Adobe Evangelist and came out of the audio side of the house if I recall correctly. The best I can do is offer up his BLOG where you might be able to contact him: http://boodahjoomusic.com/

  • Highest Quality Live Video Streaming | Best Practice Recommendations?

    Hi,
When using FlashCollab Server, how can we achieve best quality publishing a live stream?
Can you provide a bullet list for best practice recommendations?
Our requirement is publishing a single presenter to many viewers (generally around 5 to 50 viewers).
Also, can it make any difference if the publisher is running Flash Player 10 vs Flash Player 9?
              Thanks,
              g

    Hi Greg,
    For achieving best quality
    a) you should use RTMFP connection instead of RTMPS. RTMFP has a lower latency.
    b) You should the player 10 swc.
    c) If bandwidth is not a restriction for you, you can use higest quality values. WebcamPublisher class has property for setting quality.
    d) You can use a lower keyframeInterval value, which in turn  will send videos in full frames rather than by a video compression algorithm.
    e) You should use Speex Codec. Speex Codec is again provided with player 10 swc.
These are some suggestions that can improve your quality depending on your requirements.
    Thanks

  • How Do I make curved lines with the pen tool in after effects CS6

Hello, so I have been following this video http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=vKzB-CFT0MI on how to make 2d intros in after effects and at the 2:20 mark he shows how he uses the pen tool to make curved lines around the elipse. I tried to do the samething myself, and couldent make the curved lines. I looked it up online and there were tutorials on how to make curved lines but they did not work the same way, and I could not make curves like he did.So if any of you know how to do curved lines like in the video, your help will be appreciated.
    Thanks !

This is basic stuff and it's basically the same way Illustrator or Photoshop works with bezier paths. You'll find a lot of helpful information if you just type masking or mask in the Search After Effects Help field at the top right corner of the app.
    Adobe - Search: masking
Directly from the Help Files: After Effects Help | Creating shapes and masks
Mylenium.. sorry you thought it was an awful tutorial. I made it in under a minute just to show this member the very basic task of creating a mask with the pen tool and animating the shape. I'll try and up the quality of my quick replies to simple operations.

  • Photoshop cs4 and cs5 and after effects 7.0

    Hello my name is mel
My question ! I'm working with photoshop cs4 and after effects 7.0 building a web page and this going to be my first page . I got the header in and the footer also,
the main body is going to be this avi file. after effect project that I want to run when the page opens. I want to slice up and send to DW for coding . my question is how do you slice this page up and transport it to DW.cs5 and do you have to code the avi in html and css to run when the page is open. Because as now when you run the avi in photoshop nothing elese on the page works , just the avi runs when you turn off the avi then every thing is back normal .to run the avi you have go to the video part of psd and click on the start button . any idea or any suggestion how to proceded would help
    thanks
    mel
    [email protected]

we were told in design school to use ps to design your site   then transport to DW to code??
Maybe I misunderstood you.... You do the graphics in PS, that's of course what everyone does and then you code in DW, but by all means, you do not operate on the atrocious code Save for Web would spit out from PS. Trying to fix it is more trouble than starting with a blank page in DW and inserting the background and otehr images manually. And you definitely misunderstand "animation" vs. "video" After Effects is just a means to turn animation into video just as Flash is a means of creating dynamically rendered animation or interactive content. Both have their uses, but without knowing what kind of animation or video you actually need to produce, this is going nowhere. It may turn out that all you need is an animated GIF, after all... Furthermore your AE 7 is dated and does not output good H.264 or FLV directly compared to more recent versions, so this opens up yet anotehr can of worms when it comes to producing good quality web video at small file sizes... In any case, you still require a lot of reading. Too complex a topic for which nobody can provide a tippy-toe tutorial and without understanding even some basic concepts, the most beautifully designed PS grafik will end up being nothing more than a useless lump of pixels on a web server...

  • After Effects CC 2014,0 H264 Media export

Windows 8.1 (absolutely nothing to do with the problem)
Quicktime version 7,7,5 (absolutely nothing to do with the problem)
    After Effects CC 2014.0
Unable to export media with h264 codec of the same quality as in After Effects CS6,
Media Encoder CC 2014.0 - h264 - worse quality, twice the size of the file
    Quicktime - h264 - much lower quality, much larger - about 6x - unusable
Thank you for advice on how to make After Effects reusable software.
Without quality media export this program unusable.

Thank you I learned that it is dependent on the setting. After twenty years of working with AE, it is refreshing to me. I recommend you try the settings before you answer and you will see that the original h264 codec, which was removed from After Effects, had at the same file size much higher quality. Full HD 50p has MediaCoder twice the size of a qucktime h264 is unusable. If you say that the same results can edit the settings, please publish here the settings for full HD 50p. (for sure 50 frames per second 1920x1080 px) After the recent modifications indeed degraded to a tool for Youtube, but before that it was a professional tool for video post-production. Please, therefore the publication of setting the same quality as it was before deleting AE h264 codec.

  • Transitions with After Effects CS3

    Hi all,
I have Production Studio CS3 Premium. I have created an intro inside After Effects, using texts and a still image. It lasts for 12 seconds. I have rendered the intro and imported it into Premiere. I am now trying to add transitions (cross dissolve) at the end of the intro, but for some reason Premiere will not allow me to do so. I am trying the cross dissolve inbetween the intro and the start of a still image (50/50.).  Also tried other transitions but will not work. The transitions only work at the start or at the end of the intro, but will not overlap onto the next image.
    Thank you

yikes...  I just deleted every single editing thing on my hard drives...to prepare for this red camera test stuff.. and music video...so have like NO samples left anymore...of anything...but I recall having trouble doing a transition in the "middle" of two "clips" ...where it wanted to jump to the left clip or right, but not sit in the middle...using cs3....and I honestly dont remember now why that happened...but it might have been any number of things ...and thought maybe it was a still image on one side or something...
and it wasnt a matter of "duplicating frames" either..it just wouldnt go there...
so I did it manually...stack the clips and fade one out as I fade the other in...was easy solution...
sorry ...dont remember the exact reason it acted weird...the manual solution was the fastest solution.. I think Ann had some cool info about what was going on with my own samples...but still it wasn't "perfect"...just sorta explained what was going on maybe ???
    sorry...cant remember more

Jon: You seem to have some wild confussions regarding frame sizes. But you know what? AE is designed so you don't have to remember all the actual figures (it does help remembering them eventually, of course!)
For example, NTSC is not 720x460. But the thing is, just trust the After Effects Comp presets when you create a new Composition. This is, in the New Composition dialog, pick NTSC D1 (if it's for broadcast television with Digibeta or similar formats) or NTSC DV (it it's for 4:3 DVD or DV formats) and AE will populate the frame size, frame rate, pixel aspect and every other field with the right values. There's no need to enter these yourself.
    1. It's not the same thing. Broadcast usually requires uncompressed or very slightly compressed files. DVD always uses MPEG-2 compression, but you don't necessarilly have to produce the MPEG-2 file yourself. If you use Adobe Encore or any other DVD authoring application, it will gladly take your broadcast quality production file and covert it to MPEG-2 as used in DVDs. You wouldn't have to do much about it, except pick a quality preset in Adobe Encore.
    2. Again,  broadcast and DVD are different specs. But yes, it's Avid's proprietary format, and 1:1 means using uncompressed video (huge files of course). Or you can download Avid's codecs for Quicktime and AVI and render Quicktime or AVI files with Avid codecs. Mylenium recently said that he experienced a lot of problems with these (I am aware that old Avid codecs on Mac could prevent some applications from launching!), so there's room for opinion and personal experience. If you use a standard Quicktime codec like Animaton at 100 per cent quality, you'll have great quality, but Avid systems will take longer to import them, since they will transcode to their own format/codec on import.
    3. NTSC is usually 720x480 (DV) or 720x486 (D1/Digibeta, etc). 720x460 is wrong and can cause the problems you mention. Just pick the preset in the New Comp dialog, and it will automatically go through to the file you export (unless you ask for something different).

  • After effects takes too long to render, broadcasting time is soon, so I'm in a lot of trouble!!! :(

    Hello!
I started to render a pretty easy animation 13 days ago.
The animation is 4.30 minutes long, and there's no 3d involved. Only illustrations from Illustrator and some textures.
After these 13  days of rendering, and finishing 4 minutes, it felt like crashing. So it did.
This animation is for Belgian television (broadcasting time is soon), along with 20 more, so I am in deep deep trouble.
I use my mac pro, from a seagate hard drive.
    > codec apple prores hq (this is what the company wants)
Could really use help to solve this problem!!
    Thanks a lot
    Ellen

    Hi!
I agree, something is very wrong with your scene or setup. I would recommend the following actions:
    1. Make a RAM preview in After Effects, in full resolution. If you have layers with frame blending or motion blur, make sure to enable the frame blending and motion blur boxes in the top of the timeline so that it shows up in the preview. Also, check the Preview settings window and make sure that no frames are skipped and that it renders in full resolution.
If the RAM preview is rendered as slowly as your final render, then the problem is inside of after effects or with your source files. If the RAM preview is a lot faster than the rendering, the problem is likely in the codec or Adobe Media Encoder (if you render through AMC that is).
2A: IF your RAM preview is extremely slow, try hiding the layers one by one and making more RAM previews to locate problematic source files.
2B: If the RAM preview worked fine, try to render into a different, lossless format – like an uncompressed quicktime or avi file or a quicktime animation with max quality – directly from after effects (In the top menu: Composition/Add to render queue, where you'll likely find some lossless preset). Make sure you have A LOT of free hard drive space before rendering. If this rendering works fine you are left with a lossless file that can be compressed to the apple prores hq-format in any compatible software. For example, you can try opening the file in Premiere and render the Prores from there. With a google search you will probably find lots of ways to render Apple Prores files.
You could also check the resolution of both your main composition and your pre-comps. Avoid using unnecessarily high resolutions, it will only slow things down.
Restarting your computer to clear RAM memory and close eventual bugging processes could also be a good idea.
    Good luck!
    /Simon

  • Can not download after effects trial on pc

So, im trying to make just a simple intro with after effects. Of course, i just wanted to try the program first. So , when i click "download trial" it takes me directly to adobe creative cloud doing absolutely nothing. I looked for a minute trying to find after effects on the creative cloud, after effects was not there. I tried many times to download the free trial just keeped doing the same thing. I don't know if it's because i have a pc , but i would really like an explanation of what's going on aswell, if i can actuly download the free trial. if anyone can solve this i would be most grateful.

After Effects is 64 bit only.
If you're running a 32 bit version of Windows then you cannot download or install After Effects - so it won't appear for you in the Cloud.
Is my PC running the 32-bit or 64-bit version of Windows?
