Highlight Focus in TList

Hi All,
We are building an application using Forms 6i. In one of the forms, I'm populating a TList programmatically. The form works fine. It populates the Tlist and I can see all the Labels in the TList. However, I'm unable to scroll down the list or use mouse to select a value. Whenever I click on 2nd or 3rd or subsequent values, the highlighting of the item jumps to the first item in the list. Can anyone please help me fix this problem?

client-server or web ? Did you apply the most recent patch for Forms 6i? Is any trigger fired when changing the selection in the T-List?

Movie highlight focus

I have a page with five different swfs embbedded in it.
However on some browsers the swf with focus is highlighted with a
ring around it to show it has focus. However I don't want it or any
of the movies to have this ring/highlighting when they have focus.
I want the movies to look like one large movie, therefore
having the one with focus become highlighted destryos this effect.
Also it seems to differ with different versions of diff browsers.
Anyway the real point is, Is there a way to disable this
highlighting effect when a movie has focus? thanks in advance

This page contains 4 embedded swfs.
When the page first loads it loads with a highlighted ring
around each of the 4 embedded swfs. When you then click on one of
the swfs its highlighting diassapears as the swf then has focus.
However i want all the swfs to load with focus, and therefore no
highighting.
please note that this problem only occurs on certain versions
of certain browsers. However I would like to get rid of it.

IMessage contact names issue

When receiving a notifcation from iMessage, the contact name does not appear. The notification only shows the Apple ID or the phone number of the person messaging me. However, in the iMessage app itself, the contact names correctly appear in the left side bar. This issue only occurs when receing a notifcation.
In addition, when viewing messages in a group thread, contact names do not appear besides individaul messages. Thus, it is impossible to distingush who sent what message in a group thread. Still, the contact names of all those in the group message correctly appears in the left side bar.
The contacts app correctly stores the contact information for the people who are messaging me, so it is not an issue with me not having the correct contact information. I'm unsure of what casued this issue, since it appered somewhat spontaneously after correctly working for over a year.

In the View Menu > Messages > Show as Pictures and Names
If the Buddy lists you have are not on show or are not the highlighted window AND the Messages window itself is not the highlighted/focused window then some of this Menu woill be greyed out.
In this Picture the main Messages window is the focused one and therefore the Buddy List related ones are greyed out.

Konversation notifications

Hi,
just wondering if other people also can't get custom notifications to work in the latest konversation (1.2.3).
Use case: set konversation to flash the taskbar or popup a message upon a highlight, focus on another window, get someone to highlight you in the meantime.
Can anyone replicate this (tried #archlinux but it's cli-country over there )? I have been away from KDE for a while so I can't tell when this regression kicked in. If this is indeed a bug I'll submit it upstream.

Push notifications for Facebook do not work. Even if I open Facebook app (preloaded on Asha 501), the notification menu is empty, refreshing does not change anything. Any ideas?

Stacking of macro images?

Could someone explain which piece of Photoshop software is most suitable for stacking closeup images of the same subject over large depth of field so that I can achieve a crisp image of the subject by Blending??
Also, can I upgrade to this software from Photoshop elements 7?

How to make the pointer work when clicking?

Hi,
I have purchased a new Macbook Pro and am at set up stage yet. I can't go further because the pointer is not working when I am clicking. I can't click on "Start using Mac OS X Lion." I have become so frustrated now! Please let me know if I can fix it or I have to return it to apple centre for fixing.

Press the 'tab' key on your keyboard a couple of times. You should see the blue highlight/focus move between options. When its on the option you want, hit the spacebar.
There may be something wrong with your trackpad. Try pressing down quite hard in the bottom left corner. It it takes an unreasonable amount of force, take it back to the shop to have it cleaned or replaced.
I had exactly this problem from new (in 2009) and never bothered to get it fixed because I mostly use 'tap to click'
 > System Preferences > Trackpad | One Finger - tap to click
but it is an PITA in installation and recovery mode where that gesture is off by default.

Creating an effects preset

So, I saw in a thread somewhere recently (though I don't remember now where) that someone mentioned having created an effects preset with the motion effect to easily do the "Ken Burns" effect on a collection of still pictures to make a nice slideshow.
Though I far prefer working with video, I often have to work with collections of still images, and it's horribly time consuming to apply keyframes to each picture to create that effect on a slideshow, especially when I'm working with 50+ images. I've even cheated and gone the easy route by automating them in PPT and then converting that PPT to an AVI (though I hate doing that).
I'm sure I could figure it out, but wondered if someone could edumacate me on how to create that preset to automatically apply the "burns" effect to my timeline of stills?

For me, that "magical plug-in" would need some pretty sophisticated AI (not Adobe Illustrator here), as it would have to be able to decide exactly what my intended subject was, and then create the Zoom/Pan to highlight/focus on that subject.
Let's just take a group graduation shot, as a for instance. How would the plug-in know that my subject was the third from the right in the second row? When doing similar, long, long before digital days, and actually before Ken Burns, we had to do this for about 100 historical still images, some from the US Civil War. In some, we would Zoom and Pan to maybe a nurse in a MASH tent, administering care. In another, it would be a Pan over the carnage on the battlefield, pausing on the faces. One image was of the old hospital/nursing school building, and we Zoomed and Panned to the Catholic cross over one of the doors.
If the subject is always shot, bullseye style, and is always in the very center of the image, things are much easier, but let us hope that they are NOT shot with that framing.
PrE has a Random Pan & Zoom Preset, and it also will throw in Random Transitions, IIRC. Trouble is still "what is the subject of that image?" The Random Pan & Zoom might end up going to the subject's little dog, rather than the subject. That might be OK, if Spot is being featured at that point. OTOH, it might end up on the subject's foot. Is that what we really want there.
Guess that it's because I come to Video, after many decades doing stills, but I want total, and unique control, based on MY idea of what the real subject is. Manual Keyframing gets me what I need. Now, if the Durations are the same, or close, I might well do the Copy and Paste Attributes to get the mechanics set up, but then will go, image by image, and adjust everything to suit.
Good luck. Maybe with better speech recognition in software, we can one day let our eyes direct the Pan & Zooms, just by focusing on the subject. Just don't look across the edit suite at the cat - no telling what the software would do...

Highlighting text fieldon focus with components

Is there a way to highlight a text field when the focus is in that field. I know on a web page you can do this with JS, but wasn't sure about with AS. I am using components also.

If you just want to highlight one word at a time then you can use:
textComponent.setSelectionStart(...);
textComponent.setSelectionEnd(...);
The above code will use the default selection background/foreground font colours.
Here is an example of a Find/Replace dialog that uses this approach.

If you want to get fancier and use different styles of fonts and colours for different words then you have to use JTextPane which supports StyledDocuments.
The basic approach is to create attribute sets as follows:
MutableAttributeSet comment = new SimpleAttributeSet();
StyleConstants.setForeground(comment, Color.gray);
StyleConstants.setItalic(comment, true);
Document doc = textPane.getDocument();Insert new text into the document with the 'comment' attribute:

Change the attribute of existing text in the document with the 'comment' attribute:
doc.setCharacterAttributes( 0, 3, comment, false );

JTable cell focus outline with row highlight

With a JTable, when I click on a row, the row is highlighted and the cell clicked has a subtle outline showing which cell was clicked.
I would like to do that programatically. I can highlight the row, but I have not been able to get the subtle outline on the cell. My purpose is to point the user to the row and cell where a search found a match. I do not have cell selection enabled, because I want the whole row highlighted.
My basic code is:
table.changeSelection(irow, icol, false, false);
table.scrollRectToVisible(table.getCellRect(irow, icol, true));I keep thinking I just need to find a way to "set focus" to the cell so the subtle outline is displayed, but I cannot find something like that.
Does anyone have some ideas on how to activate that automatic outline on the cell? I prefer not to write custom cell renderers for this if possible.

That seems unnecessarily complicated, the outline is the focused cell highlight border so requesting focus on the table should be enough.

Tlist & tree controls - highlight colour

Does anyone know if/how we can influence the colour used to highlight a row in a tree/t-list.
Is it configurable or are we stuck with whatever the colour scheme gives us?

you can change the color via visual attribute - for the whole item
in the tlist you can't change the colors between the values of the tlist... That's impossible in native Oracle Forms.
Maybe a PJC helps you in that case

Changing focus and highlight of text in item

Hi
I have a field that is displaying messages on the form and I do not have it set to display only because this mucks up the custom colour settings of the text required.
A user can navigate into this field but cannot do anything bar highlight the text. I have set up some code with a go_item in the field to take the focus away from this field if a user clicks in it. This works find but when the focus changes to the new field I have set it highlights the text in that field.
I do not want the text highlighted, just the cursor to appear at the start of the field.
Is it possible to suppress the text in the new focus field being highlighted when the focus moves to the new field?

I've moved it to a field that is non-updateable/deleteable so there's no chance of any data being deleted by mistake (because it's highlighted), although it would still be interesting to note how this might be done if you never had any non-updateable/deleteable fields.

May I point out that in your function, the input Row should be converted to:
Row - <theArrayField>.TopRow + 1;
or before calling this function.
Also the AfterFieldScroll event should be handled.

How to make a JTextComponent not editable, not focusable but Highlightable?

Hi,
When i set a JTextField not focusable, it wont allow me to do the highlight and do the copy and paste thing.
can some one give me an example of how to add a highlighter in a JTextCompnent when it's not focusable.

I'm having the same issue. Can you make it focusable, but not traversable so it doesn't get picked up when tabbing?
