Highlight the column in the ALV grid only for few entries!

Hi all,
I am using the FM "REUSE_ALV_GRID_DISPLAY" to dsplay the o/p of my report in ALV grid.
Now i need to highlight 1 particluar column for only some entries(row) based on the value of the column which is to be highlighted.
Can anyone tell me the steps to do so??

I have some 60 columns in my alv grid report and user can download the report using list->export->localfile->spreadsheet.
What the issue is that all the columns are not downloading in one line, instead they split in two rows.

just use this procedure it will solve your problem:
Firstly export the data to memory using the FM LIST_FROM_MEMORY.

This gives the data in ASCII format separated by '|' and the header has '-', dashes. If you use this internal table directly without any proccesing in SO_NEW_DOCUMENT_ATT_SEND_API1, then you will not get a good excel sheet attachment. To overcome this limitation, i used cl_abap_char_utilities=>newline and cl_abap_char_utilities=>horizontal_tab to add horizontal and vertical tabs to the internal table, replacing all occurences of '|' with
cl_abap_char_utilities=>horizontal_tab.
Set the doc_type as 'XLS', create the body and header using the packing_list and pass the data to be downloaded to SO_NEW_DOCUMENT_ATT_SEND_API1 as contents_bin.
This will create an excel attachment.
Sample code for formatting the data for the attachment in excel format.

How to validate the columns in dynamic alv grid

Hi Friends,
I want to validatethe value of all the columens (min 1 and max 40) which i create dynamically in alv grid.
value must be between 0 and 1 only.

Validating in ALV grid output for double entry

Hi All,
         I am trying to validate the ALV output while adding records to the screen.
I need to validate if the same primary key exist while user is creating a new record in the ALV output. If the same record is entered many time ( with the same primary key), it should pop up some error and i am calling

But i'm not able to apply the logic for 2 fields as primary key.
I check the method check_double_entry in program BCALV_EDIT_04. it does the same but it checks i field 'FLDATE' as primary key.
Algorithm: Copy all entries in MT_GOOD_CELLS to a dummy table.
           During the copying procedure check if there exists
           already a line with the same Flight date.

ALV option is available from 4.7 onwards only.
the following needs to be followed in 4.7 to get in ALV:
We can get the results in ALV format just by changing the IMG settings.
Go to IMG under Materials Management -> Purchasing ->Reporting -> Maintain Purchasing Lists -> Scope of List -> Define Scope of List. Select any one option & double click. A new screen will display with lot of check boxes. in the end will find a check box for "Settings for ALV grid control. Just tick that box & save this as new name like BEST_ALV.

How to extract the column width in ALv report if its executed in background

I am executing an ALV report in background , in front end i am getting data properly, in back end for some columns some of the digits are missing.For example if PO no is of 10 digits it will display only 8 becos column size is like that , how to extract coulmns in back ground.
I have executed in background and checked the spool and for some of the columns width is not sufficient to display comeplete data so please suggest how to extract the columns sizes if executed inj background for an ALV

Displaying the selected rows in ALV Grid output

Hi Experts,
I am developing one interactive ALV Grid report where user can process the selected records/rows from the ALV Grid output.
for displaying the ALV Grid, I have used the class CL_GUI_ALV_GRID class. I am working on ECC 6.0 system.
when I select any records/rows from output and then press any Application Toolbar button, PAI and then PBO modules of the screen gets executed as per the normal flow.
however After PBO, when same ALV output comes, all the selected/highlighted rows appear as unselected, that means I want to retain the ALV
rows selection during the round trip.
please advise.

In table control, If you goto screen painter and goto table control properties ( f2 ), there is one check-box w/selColumn check that and give column name. Then add that column to your internal table.

Event for the List Box in ALV Grid Control

Hello,
I have the below urgent requirment.
I have an ALV Grid Control built using ABAP Objects. In the grid, I have few fields and one of these fields is a List Box. Depending on the values selected, I need to enable or disable some fields. So, is there any event for the List box in ALV Grid Control.
For ex: I have 2 Fields, Designation and Commission. The designation field is a List Box field having 'Software Engineer' and 'Manager' as values. When I select 'Software Engineer', the commission field should be disabled. When I select 'Manager', the comission field should be enabled.

TO enable the menu button in ALV Grid Display

Hi Mates,
I have a peculiar problem while doing ALV Grid display for screens.
In the main Screen i have Three coloumns.The 1st coloum will interacted
next screen 101 and 2nd coloum will interacted to screen 102.
Now the problem is in the menu of ALV Grid display,the Total button was enabled for screen
101 and same button is disabled in screen 102.
But the code semms to be fine .
Below i have pasted the code and please have a look and help to come out of this cris.

Hi,
Access the table through SM30. It comes blank as standard. Click "New Entries" and make entries for changes to be tracked. For example, whenever an org. unit changes 002 and 003 relationship, you will make entries like:
01 O 1001 B002 Activate box checked
01 O 1001 B003 Activate box checked
Here, 01 is your active plan version, O is org. unit, 1001 is infotype and B002 and B003 are the subtypes. You can also use * for infotype and subtype which means every change will be logged.
If you then run the report RHCDOC_DISPLAY through SA38, it will pick up all the changes pertaining to B002 and B003 relationship for org. units (in the above example).
Similarly, you can set up this table for other object types.
For more information, follow SPRO>Personnel Management>OM>Basic Settings>Activate change documents and go through the documentation for that node. Also, read up the documentation for the report.

But since the functional documentation is not available.
I am not getting how to use.

Total, Subtotal of a hidden column in an ALV grid

I have a requirement for an ALV grid where I have to use a custom formula for a column's total and subtotal.
This value is a function of another column which is hidden (No_out = 'X').
I am unable to access the total and subtotal of this hidden column . I am able to access this only when I unhide the column in the field catalog.
THis is how I access the total and subtotal of the GRID. I use oops ALV of the class CL_GUI_ALV_GIRD.

I thought I would manipulate <ftotal>-mycolumn and <fsubto>-mycolumn . But both these are functions of a hidden column
and <ftotal>-hiddencolumn and <fsubto>-hiddencolumn is always empty unless I unhide them. I cannot display these columns to users as they are just logical columns of a dynamic internal table I have built. :-s
