Highlighted fields in navigation panel

When editing a form, I highlight a field, and then try to located it in the Fields Navigation Panel so I can adjust the tab order. The field, however, is difficult to find because it is highlighted in a very light gray on a white background. Is there a way to change the color preferences so it's easier to see highlighted fields in the Navigation Panel?

I must be misunderstanding something.

However, if you are refering to the actual entries in the Fields panel then, no, I don't think you can alter the appearance of those entries.

How To Modify Navigation Panel + Menu?

I have Reader Professional.
1)I would like to remove some buttons from the navigation panel docked on the left. Particularly the signatures button.
2) I would like to remove some of the buttons and labels from the toolbars on the top and REMEMBER that setting next time I open Acrobat Reader. I would like to remove the Stamp button and the arrow, line, bubble, box buttons but keep the snapshot, comment, highlight and textbox buttons. I ought to be able to do that and remember the settings right?

I have adobe acrobat 8 professional as well as adobe reader 8. Arent they the same? Either way I am trying customize the above for reading pdf files but I am unable to force the "reader" to remember the placement of buttons.

Forcing on Highlight Fields upon Open and Saving in Acrobat Reader

I'm using the Actions panel in the Page Properties to turn on the Highlight Fields when my PDF document is opened using:
if (!app.runtimeHighlight){
app.runtimeHighlight = true;
and this works perfectly, however this document is being viewed mostly in Acrobat Reader. In order to allow my users to save the content in the forms I turned on, "Extend Features in Acrobat Reader".
The first time this new file is opened, the field highlights turn on, however after content is saved to the forms and the document is resaved the Highlight Fields no long turn on when the document is opened.
How can I utilize both of these options even after the file is resaved?

It should work better if you add this script as a document-level script, instead of a pageOpen script.
However, keep in mind that you are changing an user's preference setting, which is considered to be not so nice.

Toc navigation panel has chaptertitles listed 2x

I've really been working on this for hours and days using all resources available.
I know that this is an easy fix but I just cannot get it.
Issue: TOC generation
When I open up the indesign book in adobe digital editions
the first page is a visual of my TOC (like in the print version) and each chapter is highlighted.
- if i scroll the chapters are all visible
PROBLEM
yesterday - i was fine - finally - or so i thought.
today - i have added 2 more documents to this same book; used the same anchor and hyperlink method
but now the navigation panel looks like this.
RESULT
In the resulting navigation panel in adobe digital reader I now have these listed 2x.
-preface    clicking here does nothing
-diagram   clicking here does nothing
-chap1       this works
-chap 2      this works
-chap 3      this works
-chap 4      this works
etc.            this works
-preface     this works
-diagram    this works
Do you know why I am getting the listing 2x and why the first copies of each do nothing ?
Any assistance would be greatly appreciated.

book written in word on a mac and converted to pdf for upload to
lightningsource, createspace, kindle - initially; just getting to epub this
past week and a half.
- used my 'word' document - split it up so each chapter, part is it's own
doc.
- placed them all in indesign and saved as .indd
- the 'only' formatting i used is in indesign.
- i set the chapter (title of page such as 'dedication') to paragraph style
1 and left justified things.
- this is the only thing that i added when i created the toc.
Question: is this going to a problem when the ebook is downloaded to
devices other than adobe digital reader: such as ipad, sony reader, kindle
- maybe i might be best off setting styles to all of the text in the
indesign docs but i really am not sure where to begin and that basic
documentation or tutorial is really eluding me. colin flemming and gabriel
powell's tutorials helped but were not clear about the toc - which YOU were.

Open Crystal Report full screen at InfoView and hide navigation panel

Dear all,
In InfoView, how to globally set so that Crystal Report document will be opened as full screen and also hiding the navigation panel.
I know InfoView > Preference can open in full screen, but this must be done for each user. How to set it globally for all users?
And also to hide the navigation panel on the left hand side (parameters, group tree) that applies for all user (global)?

1. Do you have any information like what table and field in CMS database that we need to change in order to modify the BOE user preferences in InfoView?
2. For hiding the Navigation Panel in CR viewer, i was thinking if the setting might need to be done on the CR viewer. I tried changing the config file below:
D:\Program Files (x86)\Business Objects\Tomcat55\webapps\CrystalReports\crystalreportviewers\Web.config
In that config file there's a parameter below which i set to "true" but it doesn't work.

Highlighted Fields are required Error (a different thread)

I'm working on a component with four pages, some of them custom, and lots of subpages. Getting this error, and of course I can't see any highlighted fields, so I assume the field in question is not visible or required but not in the component - the problem is figuring out which field. I ran a pcode trace and there's nothing in it that I can find that indicates where the problem is. In particular, I looked at the last SaveEdit before trace statements. Can someone suggest how I can use the trace to track down the offending field?

I had one of these a long time ago.
I found it by turning on the tracing for the panel processor. Of course you are going to ask which settings I used. It was a long time ago and I can't remember. From what I'm seeing in the config file on the app server, I would at least turn on the Dump buffers before save and Log extra debug messages. Not knowing which trace settings I used, I'd be tempted to turn off the obvious ones (Dump after modal panel, etcl) and keep the rest. Once you have the correct settings you'll eventually find an error message associated with a field in the trace file.
One other thought. Try your trace settings on a simple page and don't enter a value for a required field. Find the error for that field in the trace then perform the same routine for your component.

Navigation Panel Pages button not displaying thumbnail pages

Version of Acrobat = Standard 8.0.0
OS = Win XP SP2
Networked Dell Optiplex 620
61.6GB Free disk space
No error messages
The Navigation Panel Pages button will not display pages in thumbnail format.
When clicked the highlight around the button icon changes from a square with rounded corners, to just rounded corners on the left of the highlight. The right hand side of the highlight is cut off straight as if by the thumbnail panel that isnt visible.
This behaviour is also repeated on the Bookmarks and Signatures buttons in the navigation Panel as well.
Fiddling around with all the navigation panel settings or the document settings I can find has not made the thumbnail pages reappear.
I havent been able to access the Updates section of the Adobe website today to apply any relevant updates.

Just in case, I would go through the updates to get AA8.1.2 and check if that was a bug in 8.0.0.

Empty Bullet in Navigation Panel

This is more of a question as to possible application behavior. Business Objects 4.1
I have a Webi which displays several groups in the navigation panel, each group name preceded by a bullet with 1 additional bullet added to the list ; one which is not associated with anything.
If I change the view to User Prompt, the following apperars:
with (-Show List of Values-) in the 'empty' Bullet Space. I noticed that clicking on the 'empty bullet' brings you to 'top of pager', that is, the top of the groups collection.
Is there any way to remove the 'empty bullet' or is this the expected behavior?

How can you display only one artboard in the Navigation Panel?

I would like to be able take advantage of the Navigation Panel as a thumbnail view of the artwork I am illustrating. The Adobe Illustrator file has 5 art boards. Is there an option in the Navigation Panel to view the art board I am working with, alone?

Why would that matter? Each GroupItem has its own controlBounds, height, width, position properties. Each Document has its own height, width, pageOrigin properties. The script would reference those properties to position the Group in the center of the document.

Is it possible to change the colour of the highlighted fields in a form? And if so how?

Hi there,
I would like to know how to change the highlighted fields that show up on a form once it has been designed and PDF'd. I know i can turn it on or off but i would like to just change the colour so it matches our styling of the company.
Is there a way to do this and if so how??? If not thats fine i just need to know if there is a way.

What do you mean by travel? Is that when it wont change all settings across the board? e.g another staff member with adobe acrobat wont have the same settings as i do?
I am the only one creating the forms and using any adobe settings anyway so i guess it wont really matter that they dont have the same settings as i do but its not hard to change them on all pc's anyway.

How to right align a read only numeric field in a panel form layout

Hi, does anyone know how to right align a read only numeric field in a panel form layout? I am using: Style Class = AFFieldNumberMarker, but it only seems to work if the field is disabled. Disabling the field gives it a difference appearance that does not look right on our forms. These are calculated fields, which cannot be modified, so read only is necessary.
I have looked online for some answers, and it seems that others are having similar issues.
I have tried different combinations for the properties, but so far I cannot get it to work.

Acrobat 9 Pro: Can't view last odd page in navigation panel

When viewing pages of a pdf through the pages navigation panel in Acrobat 9 Pro in 2-up view, if the document finishes on an odd page, you cant scroll down and view the last page in the navigation panel. This wasn't a problem in Acrobat 8 Professional. Does anyone know why this is happening and how to fix this?
I have attached a screen capture that shows the problem.

Thank you, but that's not going to be very efficient for his purposes, he says. He's actually moving back to Acrobat 7 to build new documents. I spoke with Adobe tech support this morning and showed them the issue via desktop viewing; they stated that the engineers are still working on the problem and it "would fixed in the next major release." Very disappointing.

The add annotations field shows as not allowed in the security options. So how do I send this form back with the changes??

I think you you need to click 'save' first, then it is saved to acrobat, where it will prompt to send.
