Highlights in files are pixelated / colored

Hi all,
Not sure what's going on - and wondering if it's a driver issue - but for the past few days whenever I open an image in PS CC, it comes out with the highlights pixelated. See the attached screenshots to see - very weird. This does not happen in any other program, including Lightroom - only in PS CC.
Any ideas?. FWIW, I'm running Windows 7 Pro, graphics are Radeon 7870.

I recently did a clean install of Windows 7 (64-bit), but the problem didn't start immediately - it took a few days, which seems strange. But, I am trying to download and install a new set of drivers for my card, and hoping that will help.
As for preferences, yes, I think I've got all that correct. There's no "GPU Acceleration" option, but I have checked "Use Graphics Processor", and my cache levels are at 6.
I'll update if the driver reinstall fixes the issue. I've had numerous issues with AMD's Catalyst Control Center in the past, and am guessing that is the culprit.

Saved PSE photoshop files are pixelated

I've been noticing when I go back to certain PSD files, they are pixelated. Any thoughts to why that is? Am I saving them wrong? I typically start in Lightroom, move to PSE, apply actions, save jpeg and/or webfile, then save psd file.
Help! I've had to do a lot of rework!

It’s usually better to export your jpegs from your Lightroom Library.
I use the following sequence:
1) select image in Lightroom and press Ctrl+E to send to PSE (choose PSD with Lightroom settings)
2) Edit in Elements and press Ctrl+S to save and overwrite.
3) Press Ctrl+W to close and update Lightroom copy.
4) With PSD still selected click Lightroom export button and choose quality, ppi and jpeg size.

Help! Recovered .dv files are pixelated after 1st frame!

Right guys, this is THE emergency for me.
I really don't know how this happened, but it did: I finished burning an iMovie project onto a DVD, after verification I selected the project in order to delete it from the HD, and after I confirmed the file deletion (basically I pressed Enter quickly) I noticed that my entire Movies folder had been trashed!
I quickly shut off my Powerbook (I only burned a DiskWarrior 3.0 CD image using Toast 6 in a lame attempt to recover any files - I didn't succeed...) and rebooted it in FW Target Mode from my older powerbook. I downloaded FileSalvage from SubRosaSoft.com, paid for the serial number (also after I found out that the fully functional Trial will find but not recover any files - so that was a waste of 3 hours' worth of HD scanning...) and found quite a chunk of my two accidentally deleted iMovie projects, fragmented in (probably) hundreds of little files.
Problem is (apart from those parts of my projects which were not found by FileSalvage) that some of the recovered lengths start off alright, only to disintegrate in to a spectacular although noisy pixelated screen - everything is scrambled.
So, people, here is my question, and I beg for a tip: is there any way to make iMovie interpret correctly my recovered footage? We're talking chunks of 1 or 1.5 GB, with only a couple of seconds of goot video/audio in the beginning and the remaining just noise. I mean, the files were recovered, right? Why are they not playing back?

Nope, QT does exactly the same thing: OK for a few frames in the beginning of the recovered segment, then totally pixelated video, totally noisy audio after that, and then QT quits (by the way, no matter what you use to view the .dv file, even if it's just the Finder's preview, it will crash).
My project was just a raw file imported from a Sony Camcorder. It was made of two 7.5 GB files. Now I've got a few hundred files ranging from 1 MB to 1 GB. Unfortunately, quite a few of the larger segments were recovered as I describe, with pixelation and all. Basically they are useless.
PS I have investigated (i.e. tried to recreate the situation which caused me to lose my two files: it turns out that I must have had the Movies folder selected in the Sidebar of the Finder window, just when I pressed CMD-Backspace. I had thought that I only had my file selected (you know, the one I had just finished recording onto DVD), so I quickly confirmed the 'burn trash' dialog!...
I had the impression that things which reside in the Sidebar could not be deleted just by clicking on them and selecting delete (i.e. you had to select them in the main part of the Finder window, not just in the Sidebar...) Did it use to be this way in Panther?

CS2 Placed Files are Wrong Color

I created a square in a new CMYK document with a fill color of C:0, M:0, Y:0, K:80 and then clicked on Edit->Assign Profile and set the assignment at "Don't Color Manage This Document". Then I saved the file with the option for embed IIC profile checked. I created a new CMKY document and clicked on Edit->Assign Profile and set the assignment at "Don't Color Manage This Document". Then I clicked File->Place and placed the first file into the new document. I used the Eye Dropper tool to sample the color from the placed file and these are the CMYK values that I get C:77, M:67, Y:66, K:1.
If I copy and paste the file into a new document, the color is correct. In this case, I need to use place.
Does anyone have a suggestion as to why the color is different in the second document when the file is placed?

Why are you doing such a thing? Those two choices are at odds. Illustrator will embed the working space profile if you check the embed profile option at save-time
regardless of your earlier choice not to color manage. You can prove it to yourself by re-opening the document and looking at the document info palette.
If you don't want to use color management, don't embed profiles.
Now, as to your question regarding the change in color, you're observing an on-screen rendering issue. Embed rather than link the document you are placing, and you should see proper color values via the eyedropper tool.

Saved png files are pixelated..... help????

I was asked to create an image for an app at 128x128. Its to be a 24bit png. I created the Ai file at the specified size, but when I tried to save as png, it was horribly pixelated. I tried to veiw it on several devices (phone and tablet), but the image is still the same. Can anyone pleeeeease help me. Anti ailised is on, using cs6.

It is crucial to have the exact paixel x pixel size.
Did you use Save for Web so you could see that the image size was right in the Image Size window?
Or did you Export, and in that case did you set the resolution to 72? If you set it to 300 or whatever else than 72, you wil get pixelation/blurriness because of resampling.
It is important to have Art Optimized ticked. in Save for Web it is hidden away in the Image Size window.

Livetype files are pixelated in final cut pro

everytime i make livetype graphic it get pixelated or distorted in final cut pro 6.0.6 when i put it in the sequence it looks fine in the viewer. i have never had this issue before and have tried everything i can think of.

LiveType defaults to 720x486, in FCP, DV is 720x480. If you import the .ipr LiveType project directly, or render a movie out and bring that in, FCP will resize it to fit, resulting in a somewhat blurry movie. Double click on your LiveType clip in you Timeline, then in the viewer, check the Motion tab to ensure it's at 100%, and that any offset is an integer.

It's legit. There are lots of links in Apple Support Communities to the LibreOffice web site, as well as others that are legitimate open-source developers of options to buying MS Office, such as NeoOffice and OpenOffice. I have Open Office installed on one of my older Macs that can't run Office 2011 and it is rock-solid.

To provie details try pasting all but serial number from system profile. Sorry but Mac Pro tells me nothing, not model, year, or what graphic card it came with or updated with.

Good color/contrast cs4 Bridge; in Camera Raw files are overexposed...

Maybe you could specify your problem a bit more, not sure I understand it
now. Maybe you can also deliver a screenshot of the file in Bridge?
If you have a raw file (do you??) you can change this settings in Camera Raw
to the desired look before opening in PS. Changes made in Camera Raw will
reflect in Bridge, they should appear the same.
If you have changed the default RAW settings they might also cause this
problem but your originals from camera can also be wrong.
Hence my question for a bit more explanation.

I have a problem... maybe this can be a stupid question but anyway.. I would like to know the reason why when I open a raw image in lightroom, for a second I see the right colors/tone/contrast that i see when i look at the same images on my camera and soon after the word "Loading" I see the raw files with different colors.

I have a similar problem but the cause may be different from yours. I shoot a Canon 6D and as far as I know no one with the 5D MKIII has my issue, but maybe you could look into it.
Canon's Adobe Camera Raw in Photoshop CC, as well as Lightroom CC, is automatically down converting my CR2 RAW files from 14 bit color depth to 8 bit color depth. This is screwing up my colors, contrast, gradients, etc quite a bit when trying to process RAW files in Photoshop CC and Lightroom CC.

You might want to check and see if your RAW files are actually being processed in 16 bit color depth. There is a possibility that they are being down converted automatically for some reason.
The bit depth in Lightroom for RAW files is supposed to be 16 bit but when opening my files it just converts it down.
Try downloading Canon's Digital Photo Professional 4
Canon U.S.A. : Consumer & Home Office : EOS 5D Mark III
Use that software to process a RAW photo and convert to a 16 bit TIFF. I know this software truly gives you a 16 bit depth image. Then compare the result side to side with what you're seeing in Lightroom.
If you are having this issue, I have not yet found a way to process RAW CR2 files in ACR or Lightroom and maintain 16 bit depth.
If you are batch processing to JPEGs it probably doesn't matter, but my issue is that it is down converting BEFORE exporting and thus any edits I do become much more destructive on my 8 bit image than they would if I was editing a 16 bit image. I have to be able to keep things in 16 bit up until the point they go to the printer.
Sorry, this may not help you at all, it looks like there could just be a difference in White Balance, but I figured I'd throw my two cents out there and maybe you could see if this is actually what is happening for you, and hopefully eventually Adobe could potentially fix this bug.

Files are colored red

I have been receiving several source code samples. 3 Files are RED under Frameworks. UIKIT, CoreGraphics and Foundation .framework.
I then selected Build->Clean All Targets menu option followed by re-adding
those standard Apple frameworks by right-clicking the Frameworks folder on
the left side 'Groups and Files' panel. I could only find Foundation .framework.
Where do I find the other 2 files.

This is common when making the switch to Snow Leopard.
You just have to Get Info on the project in Xcode (highlight the project name in the Groups & Files list and then click the white and blue "i" info button), then on the General tab, at the bottom, play around with the "Base SDK for All Configurations" setting until the red goes away.
Also make sure you have the correct build settings selected at the top left in the Xcode window.
Hopefully, this will work for you.

CVS highlights config files as Modified when they are not

I have noticed that CVS tends to highlight the file DataBindings.cpx as being Modified when it technically hasn't changed.
After updating a page I was commiting the changes to CVS I was that the DataBindings.cpx file had an asterisk against it, I compared the file against it's previous version and saw there were 12 differences in the file.
On further inspection it seemed that the two files contained exactly the same information except that the continee entries were in a different order, therefore, on a textual basis different.
I know that this is in no way a show stopper but as it highlights the file as changed it could result in a lot of unnecessary updates in CVS.
If this could be looked into at some point in the future that would be great, could just be as simple as ordering the continees by id so that they are always in the same order each time the file is written.
The same issue may exist in other generated config files, has anyone else spotted any?

The movie is from iTunes. You would think that a download from iTunes to a MacBook could be watched on an HDTV using Apple TV without any headaches bit this does not appear to be the case.

Imported PAL VOB files are misinterpreted as 540 pixels high

I'm trying to import PAL VOB files into an FCP 5.0.4 sequence and though the import and playback goes well, the files are wrongly reported as being 720x540 instead of 720x576, leaving me with unusable footage because the interlaced PAL video is rendered with horizontal stripes of alternating interlaced/fused fields.
The only way to restore some degree of quality to the footage is to apply an anti-flicker filter at maximum strength, but it's a crummy solution considering the video height should have been properly interpreted in the first place.
Could someone please tell me how I can import these vob files with their proper dimensions?

Field Dominance: Lower Field First
then click the "Make Movie: button

Placed images in exported PSDs are pixelated

I'm making large prints (40x60) from Illustrator files, and the print plugin requires Photoshop. I am converting the AI file's Document Color Mode to RGB, then exporting to PSD as high-resolution 300ppi, using artboards.
When I export the AI files to PSD and view them in PS, the photographic elements appear pixelated at 100% whereas the text & graphics are smooth and high-res. I've checked the linked photographic files, and they are not pixelated. So what I've had to do is export editable PSDs from AI using the "Write Layers" option, open the files in PS, and then re-place the photographic elements so that they are no longer pixelated.
FYI, Anti-Aliasing is set to Art Optimized (Supersampling). The AI and PS files are both sized to 40x60, and the PSD is opening as 300ppi.
Any idea why this is happening?

If you are linked to the exact same photographic elements that you are replacing manually, then this should not be happening. Check your links palette that you do not have any embed icons such as the top link (looks like an old MacPaint icon).
If you just want flattened images, try saving your .ai files as .eps, then opening them in Photoshop and saving as .psd.
There is a pixel limit when exporting .ai files to .psd, and with 40" x 60" @ 300 dpi that you should have gotten an error on, though they may have increased that limit in CS6.
