Highpoint driver conflict with Blackmagic Decklink ?

a reader report over on the xlr8yourmac website notes a conflict between the HighPoint Technologies driver for the RocketRAID 1820A and the Blackmagic Design DeckLink 5.1.2 drivers.

Thanks for this heads-up post, Andy.
I am ordering a Quad-core today, and I have an external SATA array. I don't have a BMD card, but I did anticipate the Highpoints Mac driver would need to be tweaked. They had to tweak the Mac driver for their PCI-X card as well.
Hopefully, I can wait for Sonnet to release a PCIe SATA card with at least four external channel ports. I'll need to delay or turn down any projects requiring uncompressed video until this is squared away.

  • IPhoto 6.0x conflict with Blackmagic Decklink 5.4.2

If you find that iPhoto is crashing when editing photos and you are running a Blackmagic Decklink you must turn OFF the Video Desktop option in the Blackmagic Control panel.

Solution is either uninstall decklink drivers or turn off video desktop

  • Capturing device offline with BlackMagic DeckLink Quad

    Hi guys,
I have a problem capturing with a BlackMagic DeckLink Quad and Premiere Pro CS6. Capturing with the Blackmagic included Media Express software works fine.  However, Premiere Pro tells me that my capturing device is offline.
What I did to run the capture:
    Open Premiere Pro CS6
New project --> set capture to Blackmagic capture --> press ok
New sequence dialog --> select format exactly like specified in system control panel of BlackMagic (1080 25p).
Open capture dialog with F5 key.
Tells me that the capturing device is offline.
Controlling capturing properties for Blackmagic Capture and ensuring that they match the system control panel specs  and the specs used in the other software(1080 25p, Video Format: Motion JPEG)
Final State --> Premiere Pro still tells me that the capturing device is offline and I have a black window.
I read somewhere that the installation order of driver and Premiere Pro is important, therefore I tried already both constalations (Driver, Premiere Pro - Premiere Pro, Driver ) without any success. A driver update of the Declink Quad did not have any effect.
    Driver version:
Blackmagic DeckLink SDI - Date: 22.01.2015 Version: 13.4.10.868
Any help would be highly appreciated.
    Best

Yes, Component is indeed not a better quality... Interesting because I did plug into a flatscreen, and I have nothing as well... So maybe it is the component out of the z1u that is not even working! Will try with another cable in case, but that may be the answer... Thank you for pointing that out! didn't even think about it...
I'm really trying to capture old HDV tapes, and always get those phantom breaks with Firewire (using another deck since it's broken on the z1u), now I'm wondering if you get less breaks doing 1080i or ProRes?? Although files are way bigger.

  • Can't lower framerate with Blackmagic Decklink

We have FME3 and a Blackmagic Decklink SDI 10bit, drivers v6.6.  We would like to stream at 15fps, but in FME, I can't set the framerate to anything lower than 25.  When choosing 15, it just jumps to 25.
Also tried changing it in the card's system driver - which I can - but then when I load up FME, its clearly still running at 29.97, and I still can't change to 15.
    Any thoughts?

FMLE supports only those FPS that are supported by device.
In this case device is giving fixed FPS which is 29.97 irrespective of value selected in FMLE. You are sometimes getting 25 FPS because of unavailabity of enough CPU to encode 29 frames per second.
The only workaround in order to get 15 FPS output is to load your CPU or Increase Video frame size so that some of the frames get dropped by FMLE because of unavailablity of CPU and effective output FPS drops to 15.

  • Will FME work with BlackMagic Decklink card?

Has anyone used this combination of components together? I want to capture SDI and might have access to a Decklink card, and I only use FME 3.2 so want to be sure they'll work together before I spend the money. Thanks-

I'm using BlackMagic DeckLink Duo and it works fine.

  • Automation Open (CoCreateInstance) with BlackMagic DeckLink frame grabber

I am trying to interface BlackMagic frame grabber hardware that has a COM driver. The C++ demos for the driver work flawlessly, but I fail to access the COM components from LabVIEW. The driver is initiated in C++ with
    CoCreateInstance(CLSID_CDeckLinkIterator,NULL,CLSCTX_ALL,IID_IDeckLinkIterator,(void**)&pIterator);
As far as I understand the corresponding LabVIEW command should be to use Automation Open with either CDeckLinkIterator or IDeckLinkIterator as automation refnum. However for both refnums LabVIEW returns an error when executing Automation Open: Error 3005 occurred at Automation Open: Object specified is not creatable.
When I look at the demo code provided with the COM driver, there are really two COM commands that are executed before the CoCreateInstance
    AfxWinInit(::GetModuleHandle(NULL), NULL, ::GetCommandLine(), 0)
    CoInitialize(NULL)
Does anyone have a clue why the Automation Open might be failing in LabVIEW but CoCreateInstance is not failing in C++. Is there a possible workaround? I have tested this with both 64- and 32-bit LabVIEW 8.6.1.

    Hi,
    I made some progress...
I found a response to my first question in the forum, with a link to :
    http://digital.ni.com/public.nsf/allkb/6EC98441BFAF93A486256DCD000179A2?OpenDocument
so the solution of this problem is in snipet decklink1
My remaining problem is about the configuration of the callback. It doesn't seem to work like in LV examples, or forum examples, as I cannot reference my callback VI as the callback function, and I get no event in the  'register for event' node.

  • Help please - GB won't work - Midi driver conflict with Snow Leopard

I use Snow Leopard 10.6.8 on my MacBook Pro.  Ever since I upgraded to this version GarageBand won't work.  When I try to launch it I get 3 or 4 pop up screens saying GB has detected software midi conflicts please update your midi drivers.  If I click through these and wait for 3 or 4 minutes, GB does open but it takes ages to change anything and it shows there is no Core Audio.  It also won't 'Play' an already recorded track and there is no sound for anything.   I have several plugins Including Line 6 Podfarm, and the midi drivers for Melodyne and record through an old Tascam US122 with midi.
One driver for the Podfarm was automatically put in an incompatibel Software folder when I upgraded.  I put this file in Trash and updated my Podfarm drivers but it's made no difference.
In GB Preferences it shows the Tascam US122 as my recording/playback and my midi device, but also 'no midi device detected' even though it is connected.   There are no driver updates for this old Tascam model.
Everything still works perfectly in Melodyne.  How can I find out which driver(s) are involved in the conflict for GB?  I have no guarantee that even if I buy a new Tascam interface, or any other brand, that GB will work, even then.
Is there a way to identify which driver, or drivers, are the problem?  Surely that is not beyond what a MacBook Pro can do?

I should have mentioned I use GarageBand 2009.  I've read other posts all over the web where people have trouble with this Tascam US122 but with the older Leopard versions.  I had no problem with ordinary Leopard 10.5.6 - it's only since I upgraded to Snow Leopard, and it's only in GB.
I've tried a powered hub which has helped others, but doesn't help with my problem.
I reallly only want to know which driver/drivers are the problem.
Then I can work out a solution, even if it means buying a new interface.  So long as I can't identify what the problem is, I'm not prepared to buy new equipment that might make no difference at all.
Bad luck with your electronic drums macuserrich - it's  annoying isn't it!!!!

  • Nvidia Driver conflict with 10.6.8?

I am having an Open GL issue that is very similar to the problems that were widely reported when CS5 and 10.6.4 came out except I am running 10.6.8 and CS 5.5. I'm also running a 2 x 2.6 Quad Core Xeon from late 2008 with 32GB of ram.
    Issue Here: http://forums.adobe.com/message/3067743
Is anybody else having this? I'm going nuts and just lost a few days last week doing clean installs on a new system drive. I've heard general rumours that 10.6.8 is jacked...
The problem seems to be isolated to AE. I just did a multcam edit session in FCP for 30 hours this weekend and had no crashes. Opened up AE this morning and it happened right away.
I've updated to the newest Nvidia drivers. I went through all the general Open GL tweaks recommended by Adobe, still no go. I wasn't having this problem until I went to 10.6.8, though it was stable for a little while.
I either get the dreaded "Open Gl has caused a crash" message, or the system just locks up. I turn off Open GL, everything runs fine. I am just trying to use Open GL for preview, not for rendering.
    Anybody?

Just wanted to let people know, after extensive testing on both my part and Apple's tech team, I traced the problem back to corrupt font that was crashing RAM preview based stuff in both MAYA and After Effects! Crazy. It even passed Suitcase Fusion, not sure what happened, but when I swapped fonts, problem went away...Hopefully this will save somebody else some hair down the road.

  • No input with Blackmagic Decklink SDI 9.7.7 and Adobe Premiere

    Hi there
My BM Decklink is properly installed: I can grab Video with the BM Software.
In Adobe Premiere there is no signal. The TC is ok and running.
All Settings seems to be ok.
    I'm running a Windows7/64 Bit
    Thank for your help.

Yes, its an HD sequence, I want to view it in component but I'm using a SDI-Monitor also (which strangely gets an audio signal, but still no video)
I can't find anything like that in the 'Select output processing'-box, even after updating to 9.7.8 (released on Friday)...
It doesn't make any sense to me. Why would it work with AE and BM Media Express but not with Premiere CC?
My BM Decklink is not the newest model, but I don't think thats the problem.
It still seems to be supported by the software and it works with AE.
I'm going to change my graphic card from GTX 780 to NVIDIA quadro, lets see whether that will get me the result I'm hoping for, but tbh I'm giving up...

  • EFI Fiery Print Driver conflicts with OS X 10.6.5

I have tried updating my OS X 10.6 software with update 10.6.5 -- When I did this, whenever I print to our EFI Print Driver, my documents are turned 90 degrees. No matter what orientation setting I use, etc... the printout ALWAYS are turned 90 degrees from the way I need them.
This problem occurs in any program (Adobe InDesign, Photoshop CS5, Acrobat, Preview, etc...). I have tried twice and each time I use a Time Machine Backup Restore to get back to OS X 10.6.4 where the problem disappears. Is anyone else having this problem? How can I report this to Apple and Fiery?

I found the following post that addresses this question... thank you!

  • N95 device driver conflict with windows Vista Home...

When I connect my N95 to laptop and check in device drivers it comes up with a problem against the N95 mobile phone with the following windows message. windows does not offer a solution to this message either.
Message reads:Windows has stopped this device because it has reported problems. (Code 43)
This may also be the cause of nokia software update not detecting the phone as connected, even though Nokia PC Suite does detect phone?
I am usig latest update for wondows Home premium, and Nokia PC Suite.Operating system:
    Microsoft Windows Vista

I have exactly the same problem listed above. I have a n95 and a pc with vista home premium. I cannot sync though pc suite says the n95 is connected. No sync setting appear when I click that button. I cannot update the phone software as it doesn't recognise the phone is connected and the device driver is disabled. I had a 6300 installed so I uninstalled that and it made no difference.

  • Importing Files Captured With Blackmagic DeckLink

    Hello everyone,
I recently started capturing in 720p with 2 channels of embedded audio using Blackmagic Media Express on a PC (Windows 7). However, when I try to import into Premiere (CS6 on Mt. Lion iMac) the audio does not show up on the imported file. I can play the file back on my iMac using BM Media Express and the audio track is there. I created the sequence using the "drag and drop" method onto the "New Item" button, so the sequence should be setup for that specific file. But even in the source monitor, there is no audio shown.
What did I do wrong? What more details do you need?

Also discovering another problem involving audio importing
I'm combining audio files with video recorded on my DSLR and rexporting them for editing. So far I have done 5 with no issues. When I export, I am checking "Match Sequence Settings" and there have been no issues. All audio/video imports just fine. Except the one I'm working on now. If I play back the file using quicktime or VLC, the audio plays just fine. But it will not import into Premiere.
    Perhaps a reinstall?

  • FMLE won't let me set the sample rate with Blackmagic Decklink Studio 2 (Windows)

    Hi,
I am trying to set the audio device on FMLE to the Decklink Studio 2's audio inputs. However,
the sample rate sticks to 44.1k and I can't change it to the 48kHz sample rate that
the Decklink defaults to (standard for broadcast is 48k).
Try as I may, it isn't changeable. I seem to remember a similar problem where the
sample rate defaults to the system audio card (on the motherboard) which is at
    44.1.
Any ideas on a work-around? The audio from the Decklink is *much* better than
    the built in card.....
    thanks
    jeff

One thing you might try doing is trashing the preference file in your user directory:
    ~/Library/Preferences/com.apple.compressor.Compressor.plist
Like repairing permissions, this is a bit of a "catch-all" fix, not something specific to this particular problem.
Also, have you tried different file types like: TIFF or JPEG, there could be an issue with output from Fireworks. You could use QT Pro to transcode the file. Sometimes that can work to fix funky problems.
Does the Text Overlay filter work?

  • External usb hard drive conflicting with Airport...

I am having an issue on my Macbook Pro....when I have my 500gb WD Passport Drive plugged in to either USB port, my Airport signal drops.  If I unplug the drive, the signal comes right back.  The odd thing is that this only happens on my FiOS network at home…..yet does not happen on my network at work.   This has recently started to happen, where it previously used to work at home without any issues.   Also, when this happens, the Airport icon in the top bar shows that I have full signal.  Nothing that I know of has changed with my FiOS service, or my router set up.
Any insight on this would be greatly appreciated.  Thanks in advance!
    Rob
    Setup Info:
    Macbook Pro 2.4GHz Intel Core i5 (mid-2010)
    OS 10.6.8 Snow Leapard

A USB master and USB peripheral devices cannot be connected to each other in "daisychain" fashion. Two or more USB peripheral devices must be connected to each other and to the USB master using a USB hub.
Firewire is designed to allow connection from a Firewire bus master to a Firewire bus peripheral device, and then in turn on to another Firewire bus peripheral device, in a "daisychain" fashion. Note that there must be one Firewire bus master - usually a computer - in the chain.
You cannot connect a USB master to a USB hard drive, then daisychain that drive via Firewire to another Firewire interface drive, since a hard drive won't function as a Firewire bus master on its own.

  • Photoshop CS4 conflicts with Digitizer Wintab Driver

I have a Calcomp DrawingBoard III (12x 12) digitizer running on Windows XP Service Pack #3. The digitizer wintab driver conflicts with Photoshop CS4, preventing it from opening. When I start Photoshop it partially opens and then the computer locks up. But, if the computer boots up without the wintab driver loading, Photoshop starts and runs properly.
Has anyone else encountered this problem and know of a solution?
Will there be or is there an adobe fix to this problem?

    After booting up the PC
Try this after trying to open Photoshop and when it freezes,
    type  Control_Alt_Delete
    Click on  'Task Manager'
    Click on 'Processes' tab
Find the process running called  'WTServerCC.exe' and click on it to highlight it,
Click on 'End Process' in the bottom right of task manager window
Click on 'Yes' when warning window appears
Photoshop should then open and work OK with the GTCO Calcomp Drawing Board 3.
mine runs OK with Photoshop CS4 on Windows XP service pack 2.
    Good luck
