Hight of ipod and click wheel surface not the same

The highness of surface from my ipod itself and clickwheel is not exactly the same. clickwheel is a little bit higher which is irritating while using it.
I checked some other ipods (5g's) and some have exactly the same level all over the cover which gives a better feeling.
Is it a failure from production or just a question of allowed tolerances?
Any experience with apple support?

After a lot of searching and working on this, I found the problem - and it wasn't my previously theorized conspiracy to get us all to buy more from Apple.... It was quite simple actually.

I unplugged all but my wireless keyboard. Then I used a different USB port for my iPod than I had tried before. It updated..... Yeah. I don't have to buy one of the new over priced fancy models!!!!

From my limited knowledge the iPod Nano has no support for iCloud or wireless transfers- therefore the only means of downloading songs is by hooking it up to the computer by the white cable.

Who is your carrier? Are you actually on 3G?
Do you have 3G turned on or off? Settings > General > Network > Enable 3G

My ipos Nano click wheel will not work, however when it is docked on mobile speakers it will work from the remote control.

If it continues to malfunction after a restore, it's probably bad hardware.
I'd recommend making a Genius Bar appointment. They'll probably give you a couple options: Replace it with an identical model for a discounted price, or trade it in for recycling and get 10% off a new iPod.

IPod with click wheel - will not restore

I know I've got the dinosaur of the iPods, but hey. I have a 20g iPod with click wheel. Every time I load up iTunes with the iPod plugged into the PC, iTunes tells me that my iPod is in recovery mode and needs to be restored. (Not sure how that happened, but anyway.) So, I tell it to restore, then plug it into the external power supply as it tells me to do. However, when it is finished restoring, and I plug it back into the PC to reload the songs from iTunes, the cycle starts again. I have restarted my computer, done soft resets of my iPod, but it still won't update. Any help would be appreciated. Though the newer iPods are very pretty, I am quite happy with my old dinosaur, haha.

One iPod and iPhone Syncs but not the others

My daughter has both a iPhone and iPod that are not recognized by either iTunes or her laptop. However when I use my iPhone and iPod they are immediately recognized using the same cable. Any thoughts about why this could be? Is there something in the device settings that needs to be set? Any thoughts are appreciated!

Sent boxes in Gmail and in Mail are not the same

Hi, I am using Gmail and Mail in OS X lion. When I send a message through Gmail (on Firefox), the message is not in the sent box in Mail. The sent box in Mail keeps messages sent through only Mail. Is there any way to "synchronize" sent boxes in Gmail and Mail? Thanks,

If you have the Gmail account set up in Mail correctly, you will have the Gmail IMAP folder at the bottom of the Mail sidebar. The Inbox will automatically synced with the Inbox folder, so it won't show up in the IMAP mailboxes.
Highlight the sent mailbox under the IMAP folder, go to the main menu in Mail, click on Mailbox, scroll down to the "Use This Mailbox For", and select Sent. Do the same for others you want to see such as Trash.
Also, select to store messages on the server in Mail preferences under Mailbox behaviors and set you delete time to your preferences.

Available working time for setup and produce activity is not the same.

For some resources, there are certain setups which require high skilled operators that work less time that the machine. In the setup matrix these setups are recognized because they take much longer than the normal setups.
How can I control that no setups with special operators are planned outside operators working time?
Let s say the machines work along the 3 day shifts and the setup operators only one shift per day.
I thought to use a secondary resource in the setup phase activity or adding a phase with the opertors modeled as a resource to the operation. It adds complexity to a solution the fact that setup times depend upon the setup matrix assigned to the resource so they are variable!
First option was not good because secondary resource cannot present relationship start-start and end-end with the primary resource, moreover, which lead time do we enter in the secondary resource?
Second option was not good either because setup times are variable for all the "special" resources and all of them use the same operators.

Broken iPod and click wheel?

Hi everyone,
I don't know why, but this morning when I woke up, my iPod wasn't working properly.
First of all, it doesn't shut off after 60 secondes of non used time.
Moreover, the click wheel doesn't "click" anymore... I mena that it doesn't go down and get up. The click wheel stays down (pushed) all the time. Also, for the click wheel, it like if the buttons under it were at the worng place, because sometimes I press the center button, and it pause the tune.
Finally, my iPod can't stay open (on) for a long period of time.
What is wrong? Should I send it to Apple for the 1 year warranty? Will it covers my problems? Does Apple pay for the shipping and return or only for the return?

First of all, you need to fill out the service request. You only have to provided proof of purchase if asked to do so. If your iPod is still within the first six months of the warranty, shipping and repair are free. If the iPod warranty is more than 6 months old, then there is a shipping and handling charge to pay, which I understand is $32.
When the service request has been completed, Apple send out a box to you with instructions on how and where to send it in.

HT201263 ok, I did the above, and I waited 2 hours for this to download the "update." Then I try it again on the ipod, and it starts to redo the same download all over again !

I started the update, and in the middle of it, the same previous screen pops up that it can't connect to the ipod,and the ipod screen goes back to "disabled." I waited it out, let the download finish. Then I had to try the process over again, and it started the download all over again, even though I just did that. Another two hours??? This is driving me mad. All for a stupid password ! How do I reset this dang thing, so I can open it. Bad enough I have to re do everything, because I have to restore it. PLEASE HELP !
Just wanted to add that apparently the ipod is disconnecting and reconnecting to the computer somehow. I know because when you plug in the ipod, the computer makes a noise, as with any hardware. Well I click on "restore," agree to the restore, then it starts to download the update. A few minutes later, I hear the computer make the same noise, as if I have disconnected the ipod, even though I haven't even touched the cord. Then it makes the sound again, as being reconnected or plugged in, then the message pops up that it can't be connected, because a password has to be entered. The ipod screen then goes from the restore picture ( the itunes logo with usb cord) to the same "disabled, connect to itunes."
I am not trying a different cord and seeing if that helps the plugged in portion.

have you download the update/firmware, place the iPod in recovery mode and then update/restore using the instructions in the article.

t get iCloud messages on my Apple iMac, iPhone or iPad2. I dropped my original email account and went to gmail. I changed my Apple ID to this gmail address on the Apple Store, etc. I've also changed the Apple ID password a few times. This worked fine until this week. I believe I can get game messages (not sure all were delivered), but not iCloud messages. It asks me for the iCloud password, which none work, and then goes back to my old
apple ID and asked for a password. It asks me to reset the password, which I click, but nothing happens. How can I fix this so I know I'm getting all my messages?

Sounds like you did not delete the iCloud account on your device before you changed your ID. You will need to do the following:
1.     Sign onto Manage your Apple ID and change your Apple ID back to the old ID (this is temporary - do not verify it, do not change the password): Apple - My Apple ID
2.     Go to Settings>iCloud and scroll to the bottom to delete the account. Use your current password when asked, follow the prompts to complete the deletion
3.     Go back into Manage your Apple ID and change your Apple ID back to the new ID (you may need to verify it again)
4.     Go back to Settings>iCloud and sign onto iCloud with the new ID

How come the same apps that are available for my iPhone and my iPad are not the same as the apps in the app store on my mac

I want some of the same apps available on my iphone and ipad2 to be available on my macbook pro app store and to be able to link them through icloud. Is this not possible? If not, why not?

The Mac uses Mac OS X and iDevices use iOS. These are two different operating systems and the apps must be written for each operating system specifically, even when the apps go by the same name, such as the iWork apps, they are two ifferent versions of the same app for the two different platforms.
So, as an example, Safari has been written for three different operating systems, Mac OS X, iOS and Windows. And the Safari apps, as similar as they are visually, are not interchangeable for the different platforms.

Mini DVI and Mini DisplayPort are not the same thing!

I bought this "Mini DVI to DVI" adapter thinking it would hook up my Epson projector to the new MacBook Pro:

BUT tonight I found out it is NOT the right thing. The adapter I need would be "Mini DisplayPort to DVI (or VGA)"
I found the full sized DVI ♂ and ♀ ends of the adapter and projector cord I do have don't "mate" right either. The pins have a slightly different arrangement!
I just want to warn anyone who might stumble in the same place. I'm off to my local Apple Store to return the adapter for one that will fit one of my projector inputs with a Mini DisplayPort plug on the other end.

My old PC, when scrolling through bookmarks and clicking, would return to the same place when opening bookmarks again. My Mac, book marks always open at the top of the list. Can this be set like my PC?

The PC, (Sony Vaio) if i scrolled half way through my bookmarks and clicked on one, if i returned to bookmarks it would open in the same location from where i clicked previously.
The Mac, every time i open my bookmarks, it opens at the top of the list.
Can this be adjusted to work like my old PC?

Map view and Final DVD dont not the same

Hello all, I have got an interesting problem which is probably due to my ignorance. I have made a project in Final Cut 4.5. In my timeline I have 5 seperate pieces. I place an in and out for each piece and then export Quicktimes (NOT self contained) in order to make my DVD. Ive made a new project in IDVD and use an existing template and replace the backround with my backround
(a still which was made in photoshop) I place each film on the backround, which as I understand it is making its own title set, so far so good. In test mode the menu ive created works great , each title is accessed fine. Now here is the problem.
In map view everything looks to be in the correct order but when I burn the disc and play it the chapters dont play in the order of map view? Again, the menu is correct to each film but when I go to a film and then hit the chapter button to go to next film the films are out of order with the order i put them on the menu?
The reason I did it this way was I did not want the 2 window menu screen you get when , in Final Cut, you make chapters and export with chapters, you cannot as far as I know, in IDVD come back to just the chapter screen after each film. Which is what I wanted to do. Any suggestions? (other than use DVD SP)

I would like to know also. I have made many DVDs, but the number order does seem to be random. For presentation purposes I want to play a specific clip by hitting it's corresponding number on the DVD player remote when the DVD is at a complete stop (so if I put the movie clip in the 2 spot and hit the number 2 on the remote, then the 2 movie clip will play). I can get this to work from the menu by dropping them in iDVD in the order I want and waiting for each to encode before dropping the next, but at a complete stop I cannot ensure number 2 on the remote will play number 2 on the DVD. To me it looks like iDVD gives those numbers in the order in which the audio is encoded when burning, with the shorter clips first and longer ones last.
Can anyone help me?
