Hints and tips about OCP certification 10g

Hi,
in a few weeks I will have my certification test for OCP Oracle 10g.
For this I'm interested in hints and tips for the test. Did somebody completed this test (not the upgrade one) and could tell me please the main topic, some tips for best preparation and so on? Are the questions only "multiple choice" or are there also "fill-in" questions?
Thank you in advance
Dana

Hi Dana
It's all multiple choice. If you are going for OCP I assume you will be writing 10g DBA 2. The following link has exam details like passing score, points per chapter, etc.

How about hearing your Hints and Tips for iWeb?
Here's one to get the ball rolling.....
Most of my attempts at graphics have been done in Keynote due to the extra features that iWeb will hopefully inherit some day. (Apple please take note!)
The navigation buttons were made in iWeb and are a bit of a pain to do every time. Here's a tip on how to save them in a file for dropping into other web pages. I discovered this by accident when I was poking around the iDisk files to see what happened to my web pages after I hit the publish button.
Make up a page of your graphics and publish it. Then open up your local iDisk and go to Web/Sites/iWeb/Website/PageName_files and there you will find your graphics listed as shapeimage_1( 2 3 4....).png. Drag these out and drop them into your newly created Web Graphics folder. Drag and drop them onto iWeb pages as required.

This site changes with the wind - get to it quick before it disappears!
Due to an overload of graphics, music etc. it downloads at snail's pace - so much for "High Speed" internet.
    iMac G5   Mac OS X (10.4.5)   1.5GB Ram

    Funky, I liked it
I keep all my graphics in an iweb images folder as the original .key files. This way, if I ever want to make a change to just the stroke or fill or the included text without redoing the image, I can.
Here's an added tip for Keynoters. If you bring over grouped shapes, iWeb will not allow you to add a drop shadow to them. To enable this, copy the group, open Preview, do a command-N, then copy the image from there. It'll get pasted into iWeb as a PDF and you'll then be able to add a shadow.

    Rgds,
PrabhathOrder is always irrelevant .... certification pre-requisites can alway be met in any order (though orders may be less appropriate than others and for instance delay interim certifications, eg an OCA/OCE).
If you are a 10g DBA OCP (And this means you have the 10g DBA OCP certiifcate OR certview shows you as 10g DBA OCP certified on the Cetification Status tab):
    - You would achieve 11g DBA OCP by passing 1z0-050.
    - or aternatively you could achieve 11g DBA OCP by passing 1z0-052+1z0-053 ( an SQL exam eg 1z0-051 would also be needed if you do not have one, ie one of 1z0-001/1z0-047/1z0-009/1z0-051).
If you are not a 10g DBA OCP then you would need:
    An-SQL-exam-Pass + 1z0-052 + 1z0-053 + plus verifcation of a hands on course.

  • FrameMaker FDK Developement - hints and tips needed

    Hi.
I have looked around after information about how to develope with FrameMaker FDK, but I can't find any good examples for a FDK newbee.
Anyone that knows about some useful links where I can find information about how to get started?
I have tried google, but I couldn't find anything good.
    Thanks,
    Per

If you need to create quick fixes to speed up production, then definitely investigate Framescript first. It's a complete IDE environment that lets you try things out iteratively. It has virtually all of the capabilities of the FDK and lets you access system resources as well. The documentation is extensive and there is a third-party tutorial book available from Rick Quatro at http://www.frameexpert.com
There is an active group on Yahoo for this as well at http://groups.yahoo.com/group/framescript-users/
Depending upon where you reside there also are some training classes available for this via Front-Runner Training in Toronto,

  • Hints and Tips ... sorry... Like IBM's

    Dear Folks,
I know something (very few) about oracle Database.
    I'm also interested on Linux.
A friend presented me the following webpage which seems to be quite good:
    http://www-106.ibm.com/developerworks/offers/linux-speed-start/?S_TACT=103AMW01&S_CMP=sslx03tile#sek
In it I found a tutorial like:
    http://www-106.ibm.com/developerworks/linux/library/l-ss3-db2/
Does OTN or any other Oracle webpage carry anything like this?
Is there any movement in order to provide such step-by-step tutorials?
    Thanks!

  • Hints and tips for creating a wireless network with windows

    G'day All,
I am trying to setup up a wireless network so I can share large files between my Macbook Pro and my housemates Windows XP machine.
I have no problem actually creating the network on my Macbook Pro and his windows machine can "see" it butI'm having trouble with my housemate's machine actually logging into my network (he can see it though).
I happy for him to dump the files (camera raw files) into my Drop box if it's the easiest solution.
Can anyone provide me with a basic step by step guide on what settings i need to fiddle with on both machines for it to work.
    Thanks in advance.

  • 9i OCA to 10g OCP Certification

    Hi,
I am an OCA (Oracle 9i). I have passed my first exam on 01st july 2002 of IZO-001 and Fundemantals 1 in 2004. I am planning to move towards 10g and complete my OCP certification. I have few questions related to this.
    1. I have to appear in Admin1 and Admin 2 module of 10G to complete my OCP cerftification for 10g. Is this true?
    2. Do I need to take any course from oracle university in order to get certificate from oracle? As I read from website that there is an exemption for the applicants who have passed their first test before 01st September 2002. Please clear this point as I have passed my first exam before 01st september 2002.
I shall be really thankful to you for your quick and favorable response.

With regards to the hands on course exemption ......
    My understanding is ...
    - Is that at least previously people who had taken a (relevant) certification exam prior to 2002 were exempt from the 9i DBA OCP hands on course.
    - (I have now found the relevant page below):
    - However my understanding is they are not exempt from the 10g DBA OCP hands on (so to obtain 10g DBA OCP without a hands on course they would need to go via 9i DBA OCP first).
    - So my understanding is to obtain a 10g DBA OCP (given a success with 1z0-001 prior to 2002) you would either:
    1) Take 1z0-032 and 1z0-033 (and submit a 9i DBA OCP hands on course exemption for exam pass prior to 2002)
    - Then as a 9i DBA OCP take the exams required to be 10g DBA OCP (eg 1z0-040 (or 1z0-042 + 1z0-043) )
    2) Pass 1z0-042 to 10g DBA OCA
pass 1z0-043 and submit appropriate hands-on-course exemption for 9i DBA OCP.
    Reference:
The page [http://education.oracle.com/pls/web_prod-plq-dad/db_pages.getpage?page_id=99#1] indicates how to submit a hands on course exemption for 9i DBA OCP. I recommend you do this immediately to confirm your position (I cant see any harm in doing this).
------ I also recommend you register on Certview to confirm your exmption has been accepted.
Please note this is my best understanding .... th Certification Forum Moderator may choose to comment or you may wish to confirm with ocpexam_ww. However I my reading of the above reference under the section Candidates who are exempt from the Oracle9i hands-on course requirement because they took their first exam on or before September 1, 2002 seems to be clear enough.

  • Should I go for Oracle 10g OCA/OCP or 11g OCA/OCP Certification?

    Hi all,
I am lil bit confuse to decide about my oracle core dba certification.
Please help me to know, as per the present requirements of the business organizations.
    ***Should I go for Oracle 10g OCA/OCP or 11g OCA/OCP Certification?***
Hope u guys answer me earliest.
    Thanks & Regards,

Most likely, it doesn't matter too much. I doubt that most employers are terribly concerned with what recent version of Oracle you have a certification on.
    That said, if it matters
    - What does your organization use? What are their plans to upgrade? If your company still uses 9.2 primarily and has plans to upgrade to 10.2 this year, you're probably better off with a 10g certification. If your company is already running mostly 11.2, you're probably better off with an 11g certification.
    - What do most employers in your particular part of the world tend to use? What do job postings in your particular part of the world generally list?

  • Regarding OCA and OCP certification

I have a Master's degree in computer science and i know the basics of sql and pl/sql and right now i am going to train up on pl/sql. I want to start a career as pl/sql developer and if we do certification it can be some added advantage so i am thinking of that and i am in a confusion some are saying OCA and some are saying OCP and i heard that OCA is for developers and OCP is for DBA's

  • Help on OCP certification

    Dear Friends,
I need some suggestion on writing 10g OCP Certification...
I had written 10g OCA recently i.e Administration 1 on 29th NOV... I guess I would get OCA certificate from oracle...
Now I would like to pursue OCP exam..
I had been to the oracle link which gives list of courses to be taken online or instructor led to get OCP..
I guess we need to take only one course from the list and would be eligible for OCP exam...?
    Any help is greatly appreciated..

    Just want to add information
It is true to be an OCP we have to attend an Oracle Course in Oracle Universities or Oracle Approved Education Centres (OAEC). But, you don't have to follow the Oracle 10g Database Administration Workshop II for that since that course is consider expensive but useful.
If you have budget concern, the cheapest one, I believe is Oracle 10g SQL Tuning Workshop, because it's only 3 days course which is much cheaper than Admin Workshop II (5 days).
I passed my OCP for Oracle 10g DBA without attended any Admin Workshop class.
cheers. One doesn't need to attend the OCP modules to get OCP. There is no such provision like this or restriction like this. I wouldn't recommend that person who is still prepairing for OCP to attend advanced courses like SQL Tuning just because its a 3 day course. About the course , though its a 3 days course only but its a highly packed course with LOT of info which probably is too much for that candidate who is still struggling to understand what Oracle is and how it works? Don't compare cost of these two courses. They are for different audience and cost being lesser or smaller will be a secondary issue here. If the person won't understand a bit when there will be talks about Join techniques , explain plans, trace files, tkprof, it doesn't matter what was the cost,it will be a wastage of time and resource completely.
If really money is the only deciding factor than one can simply attend SQL course only.
    Cheers

  • How to get Oracle 11g OCA, OCM, OCP certification?

    Hi,
This is my first post! Please pardon my ignorance. I want to get Oracle 11g OCA, OCM, OCP certifications done. How do I go about it? How much does it cost to get these certifications? Could you please suggest a website/url where I can get more information about it.
    Thank you,
    Tracy

The Oracle Certification Program site should answer your questions.
Assuming you are trying to get certified on the DBA track (there are many different certification tracks, I'm assuming when you say 11g that you mean to indicate that you're interested in the DBA track), you can see the progression of the exams and the options you have on this page.

  • Guys i did my OCA Certification. KIndly suggest me as what i should do now for a good job in india beside completing OCP certification?

I want to work and i need to know what are the scopes & what i should do to get a good job which has further growth and what courses can i do beside OCP certification. I am confused so kindly help me. Also, i completed my OCA 6 months before does it effect in getting jobs?

As Phillippe indicates -- which OCA you mean makes a big difference.  My guess is you are referring to the DBA OCP, but I could be wrong.  I have written a number of articles targeted to people looking to start their Oracle career.  Links to four of them are below:

  • Clarification on OCP certification Upgrade

    Hi,
Currently I am having OCP certification on 9i Database and I am planning to upgrade it later on planning to do certification on R12.

    http://education.oracle.com/pls/web_prod-plq-dad/db_pages.getpage?page_id=653&get_params=p_id:21
As per this link the pre-requisite for R12 certification is 10g or 11g OCP. If I do the Database OCP certification upgrade to 12c will I be able to take R12 certification?
    Thanks,
