Hip Hop, Dance, Pop on 4 or 8 core Mac Pros

Just wondering if anybody has been making this kind of music on 4/8 core mac pros? If so has anybody come close to the edge with these systems? I wouldn't think you would since hop hop/pop don't usually use as many track as scoring films. But what do I know, you just might use that many tracks.

While it does help to have more, usually the best songs do not need much. They can be done with just a vocal and one instrument.
As far as technicality, it really depends entirely on the orchestration, in other words how many instruments you need (keyword NEED) to get the song across in your particular style of music.
Hip Hop (originally) rarely had more than 8 tracks. Maybe 12 maximum.
Madonna's "Like a Virgin" was done in less than 24 tracks.

You can set up Mail on the iPod with the same account info, but you can not access the mail server from both devices at the same time. iPhone and iPod touch: 'Mailbox Locked', account is in use on another device, or prompt to re-enter POP3 password
I use POP as well, and I'll have to wait a minute until I can access the server again using the other device/Mac.

Can't get more than one Ultrabeat sound setting in one project. If I have a drum track with an Ultrabeat "downtempo kit" and I make another drum track with "hip hop kit" in the same project, the settings of the other track transform to "hip hop" setting.

So here's my situation. I'm using Logic Pro 9. I'm trying to use multiple drum tracks each with different Ultrabeat settings. So let's say I have drum track with a loop from Ultrabeat that has the "downtempo kit 2" setting on it. If I make another drum track and create a different loop in Ultrabeat with a different setting, let's say "hip hop kit" for example, and put that loop onto the new track, then the previous loop that I had in the first drum track will still be the same loop but the sound kit settings change to that of "hip hop kit." So I can have different loops, but they all have to be "hip hop kit" settings or "downtempo kit 2" settings. I am unable to multiple kit settings. Is there a box I need to check to turn some automation off or something, because this is pretty inconvinient? Why do I have to have only one Ultrabeat sound/kit setting per Logic project?

Sounds like maybe you're using the same channel strip on multiple tracks? Make sure you're creating a new software instrument channel strip for each independent instance of Ultrabeat you want to have. If you use the same CS, then all tracks that use it will have to have the same kit.

Where do i find the classic hip hop remix ultrabeat setting in logic pro x, i have downloaded all drum kit additional content and have yet to see it. please help!

i have been looking all over for this setting, really wanna make hip hop beats with this ultrabeat setting but i cant find it, it says i have intalled all the drum kits but i didnt install a few other packages i thnk have nothing to do with ultrabeat, just wondering how you get this and more drum kits for ultrabeat, i have about 15 but have seen people with close to 30 so please help me out on where to get additional kits! i have downloaded all additional and still cant find it!

Also make sure the Essential Sounds and Instruments set has downloaded completely too...
Personally, if you have the space, I'd download all the content... as there is so much on offer for free... that you may find useful in the future.

I apologize for not being specific enough. When I was writing my question, my MacBook Pro overheated and the keyboard and mouse locked up. I am about to post a question about that. Whenever this thing is running a heavy program and heats up, the NUM LOCK key lights up and the keyboard and mouse stop working. The only options I have after that are to plug in an External Keyboard and Mouse, or restart. Somehow that question was posted without me finishing it. But I am using a MIDI USB controller and I am trying to record hip hop beats using the given loops/samples in the Media Library.

I have a BT Infinity router plugged into the Time Capsule, not sure where the radio settings are?
They are able to use the network settings of the TC i.e. they can connect to the internet via the wifi through the TC but when they try and connect to the AirPort Disk this is where it is not allowing a connection.
I don;t have the drive shared out at all at the moment, is this necessary? How do I do this if so?

My mac pro book is running slow and I can hardly go on the internet without all kinds of pop ups and ads making it impossible to surf the net.

I appologize for the font and colour, I compossed the question in pages and failed to notice the font colour as grey ... there are a variety of computers of various ages so I think it is using a setting that allows both 5G and 2.4 ... the connection to the Airport is thru a cable modem and cable does run throuhout the house ... maybe those hard wires would be a place to look at ... do you think that putting the 'Express' on the second floor might help ... thanks again ...

Adobe no longer supports the installation and use of Acrobat 6 as it is a very old version which is not compatible with Windows 7.
I would suggest you to please use the latest version of Acrobat i.e. 11.0.10 which is fully compatible with your OS with its enhanced features and functions.

New Mac Pro pops AFCI type circuit breaker - HELP

Local code requires Arc Fault Circuit Interuptors as circuite breakers, and I am glad I have a new 1500VA UPS. As soon as the Mac Pro started, the AFCI down on the panel popped, the UPS held the load (between 200 - 300 watts. I finished the new setup and shutdown.
Anybody else run into problems with these Arc Fault style of circuit breakers?

I tried the UPS, which has a LCD displaying watts, with the PC and the new monitor to get an idea of the power consumption. There has been a PC with its own older UPS for 2 years. The only thing new is the Mac Pro.
What I will try when I get home, is running a heavy duty extension cord upstairs from the kitchen, which has a conventional breaker. If that breaker doesn't trip, it could simply be AFCI nuisance tripping, which appears to be all over the internet.
Also, I google'd the subject and found an Apple forum thread. No conclusions, but some say the home wiring needs checkout, some say get a new AFCI, and others say go against code and put a conventional breaker in.
In any case, have to wait until I come home from work tonight to even try the extension cord idea.

after setting up Mail on my IPAD, the Mail on my Mac Pro is rejected. I get a pop up asking for my password over and over.

Hi Jesse.
Open /Applications/Utilities/Keychain Access, choose Keychain First Aid from the application menu, and proceed to repair the keychain. If that doesn’t work, you may try removing the password entry from the keychain and letting Mail create it again the next time it asks for it.
Note, however, that Mail often doesn’t correctly report what the problem really is. If Mail can connect to the server but cannot log into your mail account for some reason, it’ll ask for your password regardless of whether that’s really the problem or not. Don’t keep entering the password every time, because that’s not the problem (click Cancel instead, and take the account back online afterwards).
Some ISPs refuse connection attempts if they are too frequent, for example, or limit the number of simultaneous connections that are allowed from the same IP address, or there may be too many messages on the server and Mail times out before the server responds, or there might be a problem with the network, or there might be a problem with the server...
Go to Apple Menu > System Preferences > Network, choose Network Port Configurations from the Show popup menu, and make sure that the configuration used to connect to Internet appears at the top of the list. Leave checked (enabled) only the port configuration needed to connect to Internet and Built-in Ethernet (in that order if not the same), uncheck (disable) the rest of network port configurations and see whether that helps — if it doesn’t, turn ON again the ones you want enabled.
What’s the time interval chosen in Mail > Preferences > General > Check for New Mail? If it’s set to Every minute, try changing it to Every 5 minutes.
You may also want to check with the provider of this account in case they’ve made some changes recently that could have a bearing on this.

Loud pop, Mac Pro powers up, won't start up

So, here's what I found for anyone that can help... I have a Mac Pro tower, Quad Core Nehalem 2.66 processor. My wife said she heard a loud "pop" and found the computer off. I tried powering up the tower, power came on, with a loud fan, and I could see a red light coming from the motherboard through the front (not normal?), but nothing comes up on screen. Power button works fine to power up, and then I held it in to turn off. Unplugged everything, then I removed the side panel, and the tray that has the processor and RAM. Now, as I lifted it out, a small stiff spring fell out of the housing, and I could hear something else rattling around inside. Something obviously gave way, perhaps a capacitor? Or is there a fuse assembly that may have given out?
Is there anything I can do, or am I relegated to bringing this in to Apple?

That is rather extraordinary.
If you have an Apple store available, I suggest you make a Genius Bar appointment, take your Mac there and make the case that this sort of problem should NEVER happen, in or out of warranty. They will probably refuse, at first, to repair it free, but the manager may be able to intervene and get it repaired for you. This does not seem like abuse and should never have happened.
The next question will be, "do you have a backup of everything on your drive?" in case they have to send it out for repair.
If you choose instead to repair it yourself, There are long T-handle wrenches available to do that work.
