Hiring Issue on PA40

Hi,
I am using pa40 (hiring an employee ) on QAS and when I try to Save a infotype is returns a error, " Client 300 has status ' not modifiable' "
One more thing when i hire empolyee on DEV it required Transport Requests for each Infotype maintanance.
Is that the issue of Functional side or Basis? if Functional then how to resolve it?

Hi,
This massage always you can get when ever you create the master data.You just click on display.It will allow you to save the entries.
And also check the Swich in table T77S0 as our gurus suggested.
In Dev client you don't want create any tansactional master data for testing.You should always want to test in testing client itselt.If you want to create any trasactional master data, create one req. with don't transfort.

    While Hiring a person , i got an error on the screen IT0000 "Maintain Translation ratios for INR/USD(Exchange rate type M)", i came to know that i have to maintain few tables to get rid of this issue.
    But samething is not maintained even in my quality system, there i am not getting the error. but why here in the system i get this error. any configuration does this?

    Hi Sriram,
    You are getting this error because currency conversion ratio is not maintained in TCURR screen.
    first goto TCode OBBS and check whether you have defined the ratio for currency USD & INR.  Chances are that the conversion ratio are not maintained. Define the ratio (1:1 or 1:10 as per your requirement) and then go to TCode OB08 and give the currency rates USD to INR.

  • Issue in PA40 transaction recording

    Hi,
    I recording PA40 transaction. for the infotype  0001 when i recording manually it is showing percentage field there i entered 100. when BDC is over i converted this recording into a report. when i run this report it is giving field percentage  is not exist in the screen MP000100. Why it is not whoing ?

    Hi All,
    When hiring from PA40 transaction code in develepment server it will ask for transport request to create every time
    if iam not selected the transport request to create it will save the record
    but i need it will not ask any trasport request creation in hiring process from PA40 transcation code
    we have other develepment server with same client settings in that server it will not ask any transport request when hiring
    pls suggest

  • PA40 not defaulting the new position in IT0001

    While executing the hiring action through pa40. System is allowing me enter the personal data of the employee .But it’s not allowing me to create IT0001 info type.
    While verifying and editing the data from PA 30 system is not showing the employee number.
    I know somewhere config issue. but where . not able to find out.

  • Why Hiring Actions are not visiable with other login ID within the server.

    Dear Friends,
    I have scenario as follows.
    I have one server and all congiguration is done with one employee login ID also able to see Hiring actions through PA40 in same server. And when we login with other Authorized login id im not able to see those Hiring actions through PA40.
    Parameters are set through SU01, Server is same and both the Login ID has got proper authorizations.
    Please help me out with your valuable suggestions.

    and maintain MOL and UGR maintained as country grouping (eg:40 (India)) save and refresh the system

  • Authorizatio and Request issue.

    Hello Everyone,
    I would like to have you feedback on the following :
    1- In HR module whenever a kind of transactional information (such as feeding Hiring information in PA40; ) the system prompts for a transport request to the user. Our consultant wishes to block the prompt of this request. The same scenario is in QA. Since the system is not modifiable in QA instead of asking for a transport request the system gives a notification of "not modifiable" BUT in both cases after ignoring them - the data gets saved.
    I would like you to help me in disabling the notifications and request for transports for "HR only".

    Thanks for the input but setting the role to Production didn't help.
    I would like to share the solution I already have applied and its working but I dont think its the right way of doing it. The only setting I changed was to set the client specific setting to Changes without Automatic Recording and the notifications stopped appearing  and resolved my problem.
    But the thing is even if the setting for Client Specific objects is set to Automatic recording of changes... the system doesn't show any notifications. (this is working at another place)
    What I believe is that there has to be a another way out which is the right way. Correct me if I am wrong please

    Create an 9000 series as Letters Infotype and assign it at the end of your Hiring action in PA40,so that after you have saved all details of the employee in Infotypes the system will have data for generating Appointment Letter.
    In 9000 series IT create Generate Appointment letter Tab,so now you can have App letter.For this take help of an ABAP person.

  • Error while Configuring IT0008 in PA 30

    Dear Gurus,
    I'm running Hiring Action through PA40 in IDES Server and i configured infogroup in this particular order. i.e 0000, 0002, 0001, 0006, 0007, 0008.
    Issue:-
    1. After saving IT0002 my session is jumping to user login page and after providing login details its coming back to again to next Infotype. Its happening same for the rest of the infotypes as well and after saving IT0007, my action is completing, but i need to get IT0008 which i'm not getting.
    2. When i'm trying to create IT0008 in PA30, i'm getting an Run Time Error "Offset in WRITE TO in program "SAPFP500" is too large.
    Kindly guide me how to solve this Error.

    solution 1: Might be the chance employee is in some other Employee Group and featuer is maintained for some different one.
    solution 2:
    This problem is usually caused by feature LGMST being configured.
    you might have given the LGMST feature as only wage type model
    example:  ABCD
    where as you have to give 30/ABCD and activate it then try maintaining the infotype 0008.

    can we assign more than one Perosn to one Position. In my client place 5 Persons are working as Drivers in dispatch section, I have created one Position as Drawers & Drivers in earlier, so I am Hiring people in PA40 while hiring have to assign Positions.
    so how can I choose Positions in PA40, Can any one help me...?

    You can have 1 position assign to different persons. You can use the percentage field (20% for each), but as mentioned above it wouldn´t be recommend at all to do this. SAP use Positions as individual for each person.If you have 5 HR analyst the best way would be to have 1 position for each and not just one for the 5 psoitions. If you saw this as an organizational chart you will have 5 boxes. When you use 1 position for various persons is usually because the positions requirement is not completely fulfill for just one person, an with this you use the percentage field.

  • Structural Authorization Indexing Programs

    Hi Experts,
    I've performed hiring updates via PA40 and manage to save it using test ID (example:TEST1) - I have no issue to view it straight away using the same test ID. However, other ID (example:TEST2) not able to view it. Other ID can only be able to view it after I executed indexing programs. Is this normal?
    I'm searching for solutions in forums and post this message at the same time to experdite. Appreciate your advice for me to enable other users to view the employee details created once it is saved.

    I write maybe some general and obvious stuff which is not related to your specific problem but I do it only to leave this post as a reference if someone ends up here using search...
    RHBAUS0x-programs index structural authorisations to reduce performance issues which may arise if structural profile is large. This can happen for example in case of higher-level managers or if there is complex requirements to restrict qualifications catalogue or business event menu.
    Short description of the programs
    RHBAUS02 is used to fill up table T77UU. You can setup threshold value i.e how many object user must have in the structural profile to be considered to require indexing. This program will enter and remove users from table T77UU based on their current position.
    RHBAUS01 cleans up INDX table if user was removed from T77UU manually or as a result of running RHBAUS02. You should run this periodically if you use indexing.
    RHBAUS00 is the actual indexing program. You can run it for specific users or all (leave user names blank) but the user ids must be in table T77UU.
    Standard behaviour of indexing
    This is the behaviour regardless of authorisation main switch settings (OOAC).
    USER1 has large structural profile and the user id is therefore listed in table T77UU to be indexed to make users access faster. If index is refreshed (RHBAUS00 run) daily 1 am and new vacant position is created same day 7 am by another user; USER1 will see the new position next day after RHBAUS00 has been run or if it is run before that manually. I have seen various ways of trying to get over this issue.
    One client tried to run RHBAUS00 every fifteen minutes and ended up crashing their system since first run didn't always finish when new was about to start. Another client created custom tcode for users to refresh their own index. It worked but users had trouble understanding the use and kept forgetting to refresh their index.
    Things to consider before indexing and my comments
    1. What is good threshold limit?
    This can vary between system performance and how much HR is used and what type of reports are being run.
    My experiences: I have often increased the value from default 1000 if that can drop lot of users from the indexing. If users complain performance of specific report check the program code and use. I have seen lot of badly coded Z-programs which can cause long run time. Another trick is to use P_ABAP authorisation if the program can be excluded from authorisation checks (office phone directory in ESS) or if user accessing the program has anyway full access to all employees (some payroll transactions for example run by payroll).
    2. Can we reduce the size of strtuctural profiles?
    - If it is possible to restrict something doesn't mean you should restrict it. I have seen structural profiles where each user was evaluated and they had access to see only qualifications which they currently had. Might sound secure but it is not practical and also stops users to see which qualifications they might want to achieve.
    - I try to keep focus on O-S-P -objects unless there is specific request to restrict qualifications and business events. There are other methods of stopping users booking courses held at Hawaii office.
    - Check the evaluation path. Sometimes evaluation path returns all object during the path even you are interested only to restrict the last one.
    3. Can we use exclusion?
    Sometimes HR and CEO has access to everything except something. Instead of listing everything else than the board of directors it is easier to list board of directors and use tick exclusion in OOSB (or in infotype 1017).

  • Dynamic creation of two records in IT19 from input in IT16

    Hi all
    I am working on a dynamic action to do like this:
    When a person is hired through a PA40 one enters an IT0016 (at this point predefined with probationary period 9), saves and by doing this creates an IT0019 with Task Type "U9" and a date of task 9 months later. This I believe is calculated by adding together the probationary period in IT0016 and the begin date into the variable PROBEND.
    Now the next step in my Dynamic action is a copy of the fist one, creating yet another IT0019 record. Only this time the Task Type is 36 and here comes the trouble: I want the PROBEND for this part of the action to be begin date + 6 months. Question is, can this be done by using a W indicator for the step setting P0016-PRBZT='6' before making the PROBATION routine? I cannot make it work.
    My code is as this (simplified):
    IType 0016, field PRBZT, FC04
    ***first 0019 record ***
    P some tests
    F PROBATION
    I INS,0019,U9
    W P0019-TERMN=PROBEND
    ***second 0019 record ***
    P Some other testing

    It DOES make two records - one of each type, but the date of task is not calculated correctly for the second record. Anyone has an idea how to crack this one?

    I think u r calling the Dynamic action after u save infotype 0016 in both the cases. So how can we save something in an infotype which is just saved, I mean u r using a field of 0016 in the dynamic action,but remember that we are calling dynamic action after 0016 gets saved.
    So for changing the dates in 0016 just play around with CONTR Feature, To default the contrat elements and modify the dynamic action...

  • Date Logic in Personnel Administration

    Hi,
    I need to choose two different Start dates in Infotype 0000 and Infotype 0001 while running the hiring action through PA40. However, system is not allowing me to do so.
    My client needs to track the Date of Joining as the start date of Actions and any last change (in employees' records) in Organizational Assignment in order to calculate Gratuity, Superannuation, Promotion Eligibility etc.

    Hi,
    Based on the configuration of Personal Action and Info groups, your system will ask to update all the necessary Master record of the employee while hiring itself in PA40. You can maintain additional Master record infotype using the Tcode PA30.
    There are  7 basic mandatory infotypes to be maintain for every employee, then it will vary based on the country and client.
