Hissing noise

Hello having a problem with a hissing noise when I am on the phone for a long time.It only lasts for about 10 seconds and then clears and does not happen again that night ,it can also be heard by the third party.I have carried aout all the usual checks disconnection various bits of equipment etc and still the same. Also done a online line check and comes back no fault on line..Has anyone had the same problem many thanks.

It could also be a problem with internal wiring or a faulty ADSL line filter. I suggest you prove this before you report the fault.

I have a new brand of E50 but It's a problem with quality of sound on the earphone speaker.During the calls I hear the hissing
noise. Is it problem of this model or my headset is defect?

Hey. Really sorry for late answer. i got same model (but i7 , r7 m265 )
For the fan noise ; check out gpu and cpu temperatures . clean the fan dust with power manager program. and update drivers.
for the battery , %1 wear is nothing . only affects 1-2 mins . battery has internal smbus battery fuel gauge and it automatically calibrates battery full charge capacity. but you can manual calibrate fcc with power manager. we are very lucky because on some hp ,samsung etc laptops , battery comes with %10 wearage (like my old laptop).
you post this message 6 months ago. if your battery wear is >%15 now , send battery to service. they will replace a new battery. if battery wear <%10 , your battery is normal

  • Hissing noise in monitors when plugging external lcd

    Hi,
this is a bit off topic, but it's logic related in a way ..
When using an external monitor (lcd), as soon as the metal from the monitor plug touches my macbook pro dvi jack, my (audio) monitors produces a hissing noise.
The power bar i'm using is plugged in a wall outlet that has no ground. I assumed the bad grounding was the problem, but making a connection with a metal wire between my macbook and a copper pipe didn't help. I think if the grounding was the reason of the hissing, that should have solved, althought temporarly, my problem...
does that ring a bell to anyone ?
    thanks in advance..

    Hi jukea and welcome!
Wow, thats a tough one. First, make sure you don't have any audio cables laying on top of your power supplies/AC power in general. Check all audio cables in-line. Some audio monitors may not have adequate RF shielding, so move your monitors away from the display if you can. If this is a permanent setup and the power can not be helped, I would get and ISO box to loop through before I connected my audio monitors.

You would need 2 of those, for stereo inputs.

  • Hissing noise from rear of mac pro

    Hi,
My new Mac Pro has a hissing noise at the back of the tower, where the power lead goes in. Is it a power supply problem? Anyone out there with a similar problem?
Mac Pro   Mac OS X (10.4.8)

    Hello, thanks for the responses!
x4...: Haven't tried using another account; my computer has only one registered currently (it's spanking new)
I did try logging into safe mode - while I received no indication that it was on safe mode, all sound functions appeared to be terminated when I logged on after long-pressing Shift. Panicked in a small way there, ha ha.
Bart..: Quitting email clients (mail, gmail, outlook on web) didn't help
And nope - no one else logged into computer.
All this said, the sound has stopped mysteriously right now. There's a good chance it'll start again though (it's done this before, with no connection to newly opened programmes or anything)
    Thanks, all!

  • Hiss noise from iPad2 speakers when launching an app that uses the speakers

A couple of months ago I bought an iPad2 Wi-Fi. It was working fine until yesterday that it started making a hiss noise every time an app that uses the speakers was launched, for example when the keyboard clicks sound is enabled it will make noise while typing (this is somehow annoying). Is this a known issue?
Is this a hardware defect or can it be fixed with a software upgrade?
    Thanks.

i have the same problem: ipad2 makes noise every time when plays sound (music, video, games, typing)
i'm sure that problem is hardware..
the noise exists only with speaker: if i connect headphones noise disappears

  • Using Mac, how do I remove the hiss (noise floor)?

Using Mac, how do I remove the hiss (noise floor)?

Hi!  Well, at the most simple, Audition has a noise reduction effect...try Effects/Noise Reduction/Restoration/Noise Reduction (Process).  Highlight a short section of your clip featuring just noise, not any sounds you want to keep.  Turn the amount of NR down on the sliders to, say, 20% and the Reduction to, say, 10dB, hit "Select Entire File" and Okay it.  If the noise is bad, you're best off to do several passes at low processing settings.  Turn up the FFT size (on the Advanced menu) and grab a new noise sample between each process.  FYI, the reason for doing it 3 or 4 times with small increments is that it results in a lot fewer unpleasant artefacts.
However, as others have said, use of Noise Reduction should be a last ditch option, not a normal part of the process.  I have 3 different M Audio interfaces now and none give me enough noise to worry about.  As a first guess from your description I wonder if it's your microphone that's noisy and, if so, no amount of playing is likely to fix it...the noise goes up and down along with the programme material as you adjust the levels.
So...a bit more info and maybe we can make some suggestions for you.

  • What's that hissing noise

My Macbook pro is a year old and I use it for school, so have it on for hours every day. Just last week I began to hear a hissing noise, or is a fan? I don't know, but I've never heard it before. It's not real loud, but it's noticeable. Any ideas?

I too have this problems. I purchased my Macbook Pro July of 2010, and recently it began making a hissing noise. It makes the sound three times, and on the same pattern each time. Mine is also not that loud, but still considerably noticeable. What should we do?

  • Why is there a loud hissing noise?

From time to time there is a loud hissing noise coming from the iMac speakers.  Sometimes it is very brief, other times it lasts for 15 seconds or so.  Anyone know what's causing this on a late 2013 iMac with SSD and rotating hard drive.  Thanks.

What you describe is probably hardware.
However, you might try resetting the SMC.

  • W510 makes a hissing noise

    Hi all,
I just bought a refurbished W510 laptop about two weeks ago.  I love it, but for one problem.  When I turn off the computer or make it go to sleep it will hiss when the lid is closed and the power is connected (in the case or turning it off) or at any time I put it to sleep, power connected or not.
I have updated all the Lenovo suggested updates, which includes a NVIDEA driver.  I saw that there was mention of another driver on the NVIDEA site, but I couldn't figure out which one to use.
    I have a W510 with 2 gig ram, a quadro FX 880M graphics card, and I'm running Windows 7 32-bit Professional.
I talked with tech support and they said they would send me a new AC adaptor, but that was 2 weeks ago and still nothing (the computer can the next day I ordered it).  The power supply is a 135w 20v  FRU PIN: 45N0055
    Any suggestions?
    Thanks!

Mine also makes a hissing noise..I didn't really bother..mine has other major problems..speaker not working, left click under space bar has issues problems..screen open/closing make a cracking noise..

  • Lenovo Vibe Z2 Pro - Hissing noise and Skype/Viber call problems

    Hi,
Does anyone have the hissing noise (similar to that of the below Youtube url 12- 22 secs) with recorded videos.
    http://www.youtube.com/watch?feature=player_detailpage&v=F0rKuaTgZgQ#t=12
    Sample shot : http://youtu.be/8F5M3GZkfdk
And are you able to use apps like Viber, Skype without issues... ?
    On Skype...
    a) There is a background noise (like audio fed to others mic) while chatting in normal mode and this amplifies much when on speaker mode and after few secs it becomes unusable.
    b) Also there is a issue with the voice while chatting in speaker mode... it resounds, gets repetitive and amplifies, and makes it usable.
    On Viber...
    a) When I answer the call it shows connected... but the callers phone shows still ringing, as a result can't hear anything.
    b) When I make a call, and the other person answers it... So again I cant hear anything.
    TRIED
Resetting phone from settings and also through power/volume keys.
    Is my unit defective?
Is it problem with hardware or software?

with the last update i have the same issues with voip calls on several apps (viber, facebook, hangouts) like echo, hissing and all loud noises around me seem to be amplified . I don't understand why lenovo does not fix these problems nor reply to any of the posts about this problem. i am beggining to feel like all flagships from lenovo are designed this way, i had k910 and now i have k920 with absolutely the same issue.....what is wrong with lenovo ?

  • Nokia 6233 makes strange weird hissing noise

Has anyone had a strange problem with the 6233 sound going all screwy. After a while, the sound on my phone just seems to go crazy and whenever it should be making a noise (like ringing, keypad tones, etc) it just hisses. When I receive any calls, neither the caller or me can hear each other, only the weird hissing noise is heard by both of us.
The phone also tends to reset by itself now and then.
I just got this phone last week and I have started getting these problems - and hence am very disappointed.
    Any ideas/help appreciated!

  • Digital Hiss Noises via Toslink

My audio interface is from the digital outs on the G5 to a Rosetta 200. While using the audio core drivers for Logic Pro, Abelton Live, Reason and Garage Band, I am hearing a hiss noise from the digital I/O via toslink.
There is not much feed back regarding the matter, but does anyone knows anything about hiss noises from the G5?
Any in put would be appreciated.

  • Crackling and hissing noises in background of podcast audio

I've just recorded the audio for a podcast (two-person interview), and as I've listened back I've found an annoying crackling noise in the background at a few points. Any ideas about how to remove (or at least minimise) it? Also, at some points there is a kind of hissing noise in the background (almost like the distant sound of crickets!) - any tips on minimising or removing that?

Thanks for the reminder Richard and yes, I had done that via the "common" folder and cleaned out all the cache in the various folders. The result was negative, still had the issue.
So, I decided to move all audio (about 16 mins) on track 1 down to track 2, leaving track 1 completely empty of audio. Then I muted track 1.
The issue was happening at around 4:20secs into the audio. Interestingly, when testing Pr crashed when the playhead reached 4:20secs, right at the spot that I was getting the old "deleted" audio in the background with a lot of crackle. I restarted my Mac completely and repeated the process of moving all audio to track 2 etc etc... and once again Pr crashed at 4:20secs.
    What to do?
I copied the piece of audio giving me issues from track 2 and pasted it into track 1. I first pasted it away from the problem area (4:20secs) and there was no "old deleted audio in the background with a lot of crackle" to be heard. :-) So I moved this piece of audio and placed it right above the 4:20secs problem area and reduced the audio volume to -infinity. I also muted track 1 again.
Then I played the entire video... and, Pr didn't crash and the "old deleted audio in the background with a lot of crackle" was gone. Gone kinda, because this is a work around and the issue is still there but suppressed for now. I have no idea why it happened and a more technical solution is totally welcome.
What do you think about the above Richard? Hope it made sense? Felt like it took 25 years to sort this out...

  • Odd hissing noise when inserting PCMCIA card

I'm testing a wireless broadband card (Sierra AC580), and I've encountered a very strange issue. When I insert the PCMCIA card into its slot, I get a loud hissing noise from the left speaker. I can reduce the volume of the noise by moving the card side to side, and sometimes I can transfer it from the left to the right speaker.
Is this some kind of interference issue between the speakers and the cell signal coming from the card? Has anyone else encountered this? The speaker volume has no effect on the volume of the sound. Neither does the mute button (F3).

I have the same sound - my MBP is only a week old as well... If you are not happy with it or are having further problems with it reading cd's or dvd'd then you should take it back to your local apple store.
I know of two other MBP users and they have the same thing... as said on other posts "not very pleasing to the ear"...
