Hissing sound and loss of display brightness in top left corner, bad HDMI input

've had this monitor for about 3 years. The only problems encountered until yesterday was the occasional power on but no picture. This would be resolved by unplugging the set for a few minutes then plugging it back in.
Yesterday, I noticed the display was slightly darker in the top left quadrant. A few hours later, a hissing sound started coming from the unit (not from the speakers). Also, I have my cable signal sent to my HDMI 1 input, but tv was telling me it wasn't receiving a signal. Switched it to HDMI 3 input and problem resolved. But now I seem to have a useless HDMI input.
I use this monitor for my computer as well, using the HDMI 2 input. As I currently write, the hissing noise has subsided, but still no change in brightness in the dimmer part of the screen.
When the hissing DOES occur, it tends to be louder when the display is showing brighter pictures and videos.
Can anyone give me any insight into what might be wrong? 3 years seems to be short life span if the TV has gone bad.

What's the TV's model number? I'll check if there's any support information about this.

Got the exact same problem aswell, finally fed up with it now as i just started up firefox and 14 new windows opened because of this bug, luckily my computer can handle them but someone with a slower processor it would have been a nightmare, needs fixing ASAP.
Reverting back to 3.6.3 until this issue is solved. (link for anyone wanting to do the same below)

i was trying to download some toolbar option and when i came back to my home page the 2 arrows on the top left side of the page were missing and i tryed to replace them but i am not able to fine the to replace them One more question how do i remove the BEAR SEARCH it has some kine of site and the posted me as 27 im 47 the also posted some of my information and men ask to be my friend and i need to remove it. You can look for a "Mediabar" program under "Control Panel > Programs and features"

Why does my sound only work when I hold the top left corner and the bottom righthand corner and no sound any other time??

I'm trying to figure how to change the actual page title that is displayed in the top left corner of the Browser
"Home - Report Manager" to something more meaningful to my company, so that when a user bookmark the page it will pickup the title from there.
According to the default Link: /Reports/Pages/Folder.aspx?ViewMode=List I opened up
Folder.aspx, and all I see is a reference to Folder.aspx.cs, I could not locate this file and I'm not sure if there is where I can change the title.
I can change the Site Title by clicking on the "Site Setting" link but this does not allow the change of the Page Title that is on the top left corner of the browser.

In Reporting Services 2008 R2 or later, if we add a bookmark for a folder or report on report manager, the title of the site will display as folder name-Report Manger or report name-Report Manager. In Reporting Services 2008 or earlier, it will display as
Report-Manager only. We can rename the title of the site manually after we add the bookmark.
So in your scenario, you can update the report server to SQL Server Reporting Services 2008 R2 or rename the title of the site manually after we add the bookmark.

Spry submenu displays in top left corner of page in IE

I am new and hope someone can help solve the problem with the Spry dropdown submenu. It's displaying in the top left corner of the page in IE instead of under the menu items, but is fine in Firefox. I have attached an image of the problem and web address.

The markup is all wrong. Have a look at the first few lines of the widget markup and compare that to what you have.

Get it looked at by visiting an Apple Store or Authorized Apple Service Provider. If you can't, contact Apple Support to get it serviced.

After I have reset my network settings to clear a previous problem, the top left corner just stays at 'searching' and doesn't display my service carriers name as usual.

Most likely you have Office 2004 which are PPC-only applications and will not work in Lion. Upgrade to Office 2011. Other alternatives are:
Apple's iWork suite (Pages, Numbers, and Keynote.)
Open Office (Office 2007-like suite compatible with OS X.)
NeoOffice (similar to Open Office.)
LibreOffice (a new direction for the Open Office suite.)

Have you tried rebooting the iPad?
Reboot the iPad by holding down on the sleep and home buttons at the same time for about 10-15 seconds until the Apple Logo appears - ignore the red slider - let go of the buttons.

My iMac 21.5" screen display at login screen only shows about a fourth of the actual screen, and displays in top left corner of screen. Any help?

When i turned my iMac (Lion OS X 10.7.2) on, the lockscreen shows up with about 1/2 to 1/4 of the lockscreen in the top left corner of the screen. It still works but is just smaller and the rest of the screen is black. Ive tried rebooting and theres nothing on the web that has a similar story. Its not a huge problem, it just annoys me sometimes. Its also done this in previous version of the OS its just continuing to do so. Thanks in advance

So I have an iPad 2 for two years. Has never been dropped or in water or damaged in any way....now the volume is distorted and I get booted off the web all the time. Plus it shows and no service in top left corner. Any one have these issues?

So I got is iPad as a gift and the same issues I had with my iPhone 4S is also happening with my iPad. Will Apple cover the problem as it lies within there updates or something. All I know I have taken perfect care of both products and volume is distorted. Can't listen to music, I get booted off the web all the time, I can't even chat with Apple icare it won't work and no service shows on top left corner. What is wrong with Apple products? I'm thinking it's time to switch! I've had to change my iPhone twice now......first time for mic not working and then camera shutter kept sticking. Same on my iPad........ I don't want to pay to get this fixed as it's not my fault this is happening...... It's software apparently?

This really is starting to feel like a hardware issue than a software one.
Especially if hearing noises when you connecting up your iPad for charging.
Something happened to your iPad that has nothing to do with a software update.

The Apple icon, usually at top left corner, appears in top right corner in a strip including all that left hand. When the computer is restarted, the screen goes back to normal. But I have to move the mouse to the far left of the screen and then up until it reappears on the far right hand side of the screen so that I can hit shut down button.
It seems to happen randomly though always on desk top and sometimes when I move mouse and computer switches on from rest mode. My large flat screen is relatively new.
The video card on this computer, which is approximately two years old, is Nvidia FeForce 9400M.
Any help would be welcome as my usual source of assistance is not available and I am not well versed in workings of the Mac although I have used one for many years.

That sounds like a Hardware problem.
You may be able to confirm that with Apple Hardware Test, or make an appointmenst for a free Genius Bar evaluation.

Are you running 10.6 Snow Leopard as your profile indicates?
If so, it sounds like maybe an Expose or Active Screen Corners issue?
Go to Apple > System Preferences > Expose & Spaces > Expose and
1. experment with the Active Screen Corners selections
2. take a look at your F key settings for Expose
3. lastly check your Dashboard settings

ok.. I've had the ipad 3 years and it has always displayed "zero to 5 bars ATT" or "no service" and recently "no sim"
It does display the fan when at home but not out of wifi range.
