Historic data migration (forms 6i to forms 11g)

Hello,
We have done a migration from Forms 6i to Forms 11g. We are facing a problem with the historic data for a download/upload file
utility. In forms 6i the upload/download was done using OLE Container which has become obsolete, the new technology being webutil.
We had converted the historic data from Long RAW to BLOB (by export/import & by the TO_LOB) and while opening them it throws a
message or not able to open. This issue exists for all types of documents like .doc, .docx, .html, .pdf. We are unable
to open the documents after downloading to local client machines.
One option which works is to manually download the documents (pdf, doc etc) from the older version of forms 6i (OLE) and
upload it to the forms 11g (Webutil). Is there any way this can be automated?
Thanks
Ram

  • Historical Data migration

    Hello Experts!
Our client is switching from a SAP 4.7 to SAP ECC 6.0. We're going to move all open items (customers, vendors), the assets, master data...etc via LSMW.
One question remains: What happens with the historical data? They are not willing to keep the old systems just for consulting data (this would generate a yearly fee to host the systems). The client has IXOS as archiving tool.
My question is rather if it is possible to make a huge copy of all transactional data or not.
    thanks for the aswers.
    Regards
    FX

    Hi,
Your situation is a bit unclear... If you are going to upgrade your SAP system, why do you have to migrate the data via LSMW?

  • Oracle 9i to11g data migration

    Hi,
Could you please suggest the best method (Tool) to export data (Data migration) from Oracle 9i to 11g
    Thanks,
    Bhaskar

Pl indicate which exact versions of Linux - are the source and target servers the same or different ? If they are the same, use DBUA to upgrade. If they are different, shut down the database on the source, copy over all of the database files to the target, then perform a manual upgrade on the target.

  • Migrating forms/reports 6i to 11g

    Hi,
Im looking for a step-by-step guide to migrate from form/reports 6i to forms 11g.
I found the document bellow. Can one suggest more resources ?

I'm thinking no because a large part of it depends upon how the 6 Forms were written.
    You probably already have this:
    http://www.oracle.com/technetwork/developer-tools/forms/index-095046.html
Oracle Doc 207396.1 has some information too.

  • Seamless data migration between forms and other adobe products

How can I migrate data from a form to complete a pdf fillable form (such as a contract) and then send to echosign in an automated process?

    Hi;
If this question is related to PDF forms created in Acrobat, and not related to FormsCentral you should post (or I can move to) the Acrobat Forms Forums: http://forums.adobe.com/community/acrobat/forms
If it is about FormsCentral, there is nothing in FormsCentral that supports automated data migration.

  • H/W & Data migration form AS 400/DB2 V5 R4 to Unix/Linux and Oracle

We are considering migration of huge data(in Terabytes) from AS 400/DB2 V5 R4 to Unix/Linux and Oracle.
We are changing operating system and data base also..Please advise if R98403 can be used to move data in terabytes.
I understand Oracle work bench does not support V5 R4.
I would like to know pointers on possible tools and approach for the migration.
    Thanks

    Hi,
May I know the reason for this huge change? As most of the current setups of E1 are on AS00 only. Then also if you are planning to migrate your hardware and data from DB2/OS400 to Orcle and Unix/Linux you can consider below options for data migration:
    1) R98403 and R98403A are best approach for this type of migration it may consule some extra time but accurate..! As no other tools like Oracle Workbench can
    provide 100% accuracy.
    2) Archive data size if possible with the help of BA team and work on some purging this will help you to great level.
    3) If you decide to go live on new setup please consider going live module wise as a specific module data can be moved fast, and if BA team can specify some specific tables only getting hit for module trasection they can develop TC reports for specific data to be migrated and can save your time instead of copying entire data set again at go live.
    Good Luck..!

  • MIGRATING SAPSRIPT TO SMART FORM Purchase Order

    Hi all
my requirement is that here existing customised script of purchase order . i need to migrate customised script to smart form.(i need to develop what ever the output of customised script that i have to show in smartform)
i went to smart form Trasaction and migrated, while activating this form it is showing so many errors
please help me on this ..

    Hi
In this case I think you should copy the std report to drive the print: the layout has to be different, but the data to be printed are the same. So It's better to use the std program because the get all data you need: if you want to use the smartform here you should consider only the part to select the data, because the part to print them will be included in the sf; so these std program can be very helpful for you.
I believe the problem can be the layout, if it's very different from std one you should create a new one without to worry the old/std layout, but these can depend on only you.

  • Can Oracle Form Builder 10g open forms created with Developer 11g?

    Hi,
Two different groups of developers developed forms in both Forms versions 10g and 11g. There will be call_forms between both versions and both will run under the same portal. Production is 10g. Is it possible to open 11g forms in 10g Form Builder? Suggestion/ solutions are appreciated.
    Thanks,
    Victor

It is likely you will run into issues, so I would say best not to. I have done it a couple of times by accident during migration of Forms 10g to 11g. You can still open and view the 11g forms code in the Forms 10g builder, but will likely see some objects appear as incorrect types. Saving the 11g form in such a state from the 10g Forms Builder may result in corruption.

  • Oracle forms 6i compatibility with 11g

    Hi,
We are in the process of migrating our Oracle to version 11g, due to a product upgrade.
The current system is on Oracle 9i and holds Oracle forms developed on Oracle 6i, will this form still be usable on Oracle 11g after upgrade? or do we also need to upgrade the Oracle developer suite to 11g?
If the developer Suite is also required to be upgraded to 11g, then is it required that the coding syntax/conventions within the existing forms will change?
I am not a forms resource and trying my hands on an upgrade directly. Please assist

  • How to migrate sharepoint 2010 infopath form to sharepoint online.

how to migrate SharePoint 2010 infopath form to SharePoint online.

    Hi Partha,
You use powershell script to migrate infopath forms from SP 2010 to SP Online. But you need to be careful about external connections used in infopath forms(web service connections etc.) because they might required to be changed. So, for data connections,
use of Data Connection Library is a preferable way or you can write a powershell script to update the data connections also.
You can find the sample script from the below url:

    Hi Cristina,
Please check the following article with using web service UserProfileService.asmx to get the current user profile in InfoPath code behind and use the validating event to do some complex validation, it should help.

  • OIM11gR2 - How to migrate an Application Instance Form

    Hello,
I'm trying to migrate an Application Instance Form from my Dev env to my QA env.
    My target system is SAP
I performed the following steps in Dev:
    1. Installed and configured the SAP Connector (no problem here)
    2. Created a sandbox
    3. Created an Application Instance
    4. Created the Application Instance Form
    5. Ran a target reconciliation to confirm everything is working properly
    6. Exported the sandbox
    7. Published the sandbox
    8. Via Deployment Manager I exported all objects related to SAP (Resource object, Process Forms, Lookups etc.)
    In QA I did:
    9. Installed and configured the SAP Connector (no problem here)
    10. Via Deployment Manager I imported the objects related to SAP
    11. Imported the sandbox
    Problem:
To my surprise, the Application Instance does not have a Form in the QA env.
I had to create it manually by performing the following:
    12. Create a sandbox
    13. Open the Application Instance definition
    14. Click on create (to create a form)
    15. Entered the same name I used in my Dev environment
    16. Received an error message saying that the form already exists
    17. Entered a different name for the Form
    18. Saved
    19. Exported the sandbox (to import in Prd)
    20. Published the sandbox
    21. Ran a target reconciliation to confirm everything is working properly
I tried to reproduce the problem with another (test) destination environment because I don't want to have the same problem when migrating to Prd.
I repeated the steps 9,10,11 except that I imported the sandbox exported from QA (step 19) instead.
The same problem: Application Instance definition has no Form attached to it in my test destination environment.
If I try to create the form with the same name, it gives an error message saying it is already there.
    Is my procedure wrong?
Is there an official procedure explaining how to migrate only Application Instance Form from one env to another?
    My env:
    OS: Windows 2008 R2 SP1
    OIM: 11gR2 BP7
    SAP connector: 9.1.2.2.0
    Thanks,

    This is a bug: Bug:16027176
Check the [Article ID 1515225.1] which proposes a workaround that might be useful in your case (it was not in mine).
    In short the workaround is:
The following order should be observed to export :
    - IT Resource & Application instance in one xml
    - Request DataSet in another xml
    - SysAdmin Sandbox (the one defined while creating the Application Instance and the Form)
    - Identity URL Sandbox (defined while customizing the fields on the Form, in the Catalogue page)

  • Hi, I am using HP11 and iPlanet web server. When trying to upload files over HTTP using FORM ENCTYPE="multipart/form-data" that are bigger than a few Kilobytes i get a 408 error. (client timeout).

Hi, I am using HP11 and iPlanet web server. When trying to upload files over HTTP using FORM ENCTYPE="multipart/form-data" that are bigger than a few Kilobytes i get a 408 error. (client timeout). It is as if the server has decided that the client has timed out during the file upload. The default setting is 30 seconds for AcceptTimeout in the magnus.conf file. This should be ample to get the file across, even increasing this to 2 minutes just produces the same error after 2 minutes. Any help appreciated. Apologies if this is not the correct forum for this, I couldn't see one for iPlanet and Web, many thanks, Kieran.

    Hi,
You didnt mention which version of IWS. follow these steps.
(1)Goto Web Server Administration Server, select the server you want to manage.
    (2)Select Preference >> Perfomance Tuning.
(3)set HTTP Persistent Connection Timeout to your choice (eg 180 sec for three minutes)
    (4) Apply changes and restart the server.
*Setting the timeout to a lower value, however, may    prevent the transfer of large files as timeout does not refer to the time that the connection has been idle. For example, if you are using a 2400 baud modem, and the request timeout is set to 180 seconds, then the maximum file size that can be transferred before   the connection is closed is 432000 bits (2400 multiplied by 180)

  • How to use two RFC models in one Data Source for a Interactive Form UI Elem

    Hi
I want to use two RFC models (two Function Modules from a SAP Backend system) in one context node of a View Controller in order to pass it as the data source to a Interactive Form UI element. Can I use the data binding mechanism directly or have I to copy the data into a Value Node within the view controller.
    Thanks for helping
    René Morel
    SAP (Schweiz) AG

    Rene,
You can create a local context node in component controller and copy the data from both the RFC's to this node, then bind it to the view controller. Then you can make this view context node as the datasource of the interactive form.
