Historical data download to flash file
Hi , I have a program that I wish to have access stock market
data on demand.
I am not sure as to how to go about coding the request to get
the data(say from Yahoo).
At the moment I have MIME format Text files that I access
through Flash.(after cut and paste into the spreadsheet)
I format the data through a Excell macro. I wish to automate
the process preferably through an XML schema.
I am worried that I might overload the memory of the Flash
engine if I populate the program with XML data(and hence format
before passing to revelant arrays). It would be better to have an
XML query generated from flash that contained formating
instructions that returned the data into revelant text files to be
read by the Flash engine. Does anyone have experience in this or
know something about the subject? I know it has been done in HTML
for Lisp but I dont have access to the code

Is there a way to download a Flash file from the web?
Hello all.
I am just wondering if there is a way, similar to downloading QuickTime movies and trailers from the web (using the provided link or its URL) to download a flash file? i.e. a flash-made audio or video?

Dynamic Data Source with Flash file
I have a MySQL database which I am using to create a dynamic
table for a shopping website. One of the fields of the database is
for a video of each product. In the videos directory is a bunch of
flash movies (.swf).
In Dreamweaver I have a dynamic table that is using the data
from my MySQL database. When I preview the site all the dynamic
data works fine and appears correctly. However the video does not
work when I preview the site. The steps I made to create the dyamic
video link in dreamweaver are as follows:
Insert>Media>Flash
Select File Name From: Data Sources
Field: Recordset>Video
I've checked the information in my MySQL database and the
data there seems to be correct. If I remove the dyamic video
information and manually place the necessary flash video and
preview the site it works fine.
So why won't my flash videos work dynamically?If it is open, then try

How to control adobe flash files with sliders and buttons
Hi,
I am trying to make a front panel for a vehicle completely designed in flash, and control it through labview. I can load a flash file into an activex container successfully. I have followed this thread here http://forums.ni.com/ni/board/message?board.id=170&message.id=351719 and gotten everything working.
But my question is, how can I send data to the flash file from labview? Some examples of things I need to do: Interpret a CAN signal and have some text appear on the screen, Make buttons flash, etc.
I understand how to load the swf, Im just not sure how to communicate with it. One thing to mention is that the front panel for the vehicle will be fully custom coded. However in the meantime, I am trying to figure out how to control it from labview. Like if there is a clock.swf out on the net, how can I change the time from labview? Is there a way to see what parameters are available for changing?

I am a large fan of Homestarrunner.com. Whenever a new animation comes out, I watch it. However, after uprgading to 10.4.7, I haven't been able to view the flash files (changing the .html extention to .swf). This has always worked for me in the past, but now all of a sudden, my computer downloads the flash files. I have watched the cartoons as flash files on other computers, and it works there, so why not on my eMac?
I'm using Safari on all the computers I've tried this on. It's only mine, the one running Tiger version 10.4.7 (the others are running earlier versions of Tiger and also 10.3.9). I'll try Firefox. However, I would like to be able to view the flash files in Safari, as it is my main web browser.

If you're sure you've installed the latest version of Flash, take each of the following steps that you haven't already tried. After each step, relaunch Safari and test. For a "missing plug-in" error, start with Step 7. Back up all data before making any changes.

How to store the data typed in flash to .txt file?

Santhosh Kumar Mi don't think this is complicated enough for anyone to write a tutorial. but i could be wrong about that.
you have 2 steps:
1. use the urlloader class to send data to a server-side php script that saves your data to a .txt file
2. use the filereference class to download that file.
they're both pretty easy if you use the flash help files to start you off. -
when i download any file it works frequently and downloading start in a second but when i pause the downloading file & after some time when i open it,The downloading not start proper and after some time a message flash 'download error' source file could not be read please try again later or contact the server administrator.
I downloaded the Microsoft Autoruns package and ran it. There are no programs in the LSA Providers tab, and Apple's Bonjour is the only program in the Winsock Providers tab. I also did the "netsh winsock reset" and rebooted. It didn't fix the problem. Any more ideas?

Create two or more flash files from one (Excel) data source
Hi experts,
I have the following requirement about Xcelsius.
Our data source is a relational database. Via the ODBC driver we manage to create several queries and execute them into Microsoft Excel. Those excel sheets are the basic for the Xcelsius reports.
Now we want to build some highly visualized reports on that, but the crucial fact is. We don't want to have all the reports in one FlashFile, but we need several flash file depending on the area of the queries.
Hence our requirement would be one of the following points:
- create multiple flash files from one .xlf
- create multiple .xlf from data source
Another requirement is the automatic execution of the process. We don't want to have a person in between, who has to call all the .xlf files to create the Flash reports step by step. What we need is an automatic process.
Can this requirement be fulfilled in a way?
Maybe by using the Xcelsius SDK?

Firstly talking about the important requirement i.e. automating the process:
In your case you can achieve this by using the XML maps. This will pick the data automatically when ever report is refreshed.
Secondly, both the approaches are correct, however i would go with the first one.
1. Create multiple flash files from one .xlf
You just need to create one dashboard and have a filter on areas (Invisible) and then export to flash (for every area).
2. Create multiple .xlf from data source
This approach is also fine, however you need to create multiple dashboards and do the same thing i.e filter data based on area.
P.S. Did you get a chance to explore options to integrate Xcelsius with your Relational Database, this will be much effective.

Okay so I'm trying to download Adobe Flash Pro. I've gone to creative cloud and downloaded "Flash Professional CC and Mobile Device Packaging (2014)" and I have no idea what to do afterwards... There's no way to open or run the file. And to be honest, I'm not even sure if it's the right download... Help!
I'm using PC with Windows 8.1. I got onto the Creative Cloud and downloaded "Flash Professional CC and Mobile Device Packaging (2014)". <--- That would be the file. I can't open or run it from CC and I couldn't find a file in my computer either.

I am also facing a similar problem wherein the SWF file takes time to load the refreshed data in Infoview i.e. after exporting the xlf file to Business Objects platform. Currently I am using Xcelcius Engage/Enterprise 2008 SP3 Windows (file name: 51038212.ZIP) version 5.3.0.0 build number 12,3,0,670. Also the SWF file is approximately 2MB in size and it uses 42 live office connections.
Please suggest solution as to how to decrease the time it takes to refresh the live office connections. -
