When I attempt to use Firefox, the address bar and all the command & tool bars disappear from view as soon as I start the program. I can see the scrolling our of view at the top of my screen. This leaves me with no way to enter a web address, navigate or even exit the program.
Make sure that you do not run Firefox in full screen mode (press F11 or Fn + F11 to toggle; Mac: command+Shift+F).<br />
If you are in full screen mode then hover the mouse to the top to make the Navigation Toolbar and Tab bar appear.<br />
You can click the Maximize button at the top right to leave full screen mode or right click empty space on a toolbar and use "Exit Full Screen Mode" or press F11. -
The address bar disappeared from all web pages and I can't type in a webpage. I don't know how to get it back. Can someone PLEASE help me get it back? Thanks!!!
Hi Jordyn. I'm assuming you're using Safari. Open it. On the top bar click on View > Customize Toolbar. You should see the address bar there and simply drag it where you want to place it in Safari. Hope this helps.

1.
I created a new toolbar in Customize... / Add New Toolbar. It's on the list of toolbars and opens up '''most times''' I start Firefox, but not ''always''. I have tested it and it is completely random.
2.
Same type of problem as 1., but '''''everytime''''' I use the 'New Window' feature the custom toolbar disappears from the toolbar menu and if I need to use it, I have to '''save all tabs as bookmark''' then close and reopen FireFox so I get my original window [where the toolbar shows up]. AARRRGHH.
I've been using FF for 7 years now, so I know enough to rule out corrupted localstore.rdf, new or updated add-ons (I could be wrong though, as I often am...).
Has this come up with other users? Am I being cursed? [lol] any help would be appreciated.cor-el,
Sorry it took so long to get back to you.
You know, you're right. I should try everything, no matter how smart I think I am!
It's been 3 days since I deleted the localstore.rdf file and so far so good.
Thanxs for the help -

Mara...
Go to your Safari menu bar (top of your screen) click View then from the drop down menu click Customize Toolbar.
Mac OS X (10.6.6) < your profile
If that is correct, you need to udpate your system software to v10.6.8

History Bar - Disappeared.
The History bar has disappeared. Selecting View>Show History Bar does nothing. Customize does nothing. This is bizarre - can anyone help?
Thanks,
BruceBruce,
Do you mean the Address bar? Try quitting Safari and
moving '~/Library/Preferences/com.apple.Safari.plist'
to your Desktop temporarily. Does that help?

Yang-
Yes, I meant Address Bar (the dangers of seeking help on the forum when away from my Mac and using a Windows machine :>).
Thanks for your suggestion, that appears to have solved the problem.

Why has my space bar disappeared from my keyboard on my ipad2
My space bar has disappeared from keyboard, why? Thanks
The keyboard is contextual, meaning it changes with intended use.
If you place the cursor in the address bar of the browser, you do not get a space bar since web addresses do not have spaces in them. -
1.2 firmware update - contacts disappear from main menu
After applying the 1.2 firmware update I am experiencing a problem as follows...
I have always enabled "Contacts" to be "On" for my main menu because I use my nano as an address book as well as a media player and I like being able to access my contacts easily.
After applying the 1.2 firmware update I noticed that "Contacts" disappeared from my main menu. I guessed that the update might be re-set some of my settings so I went to main menu settings and lo and behold "Contacts" was still set to "On".
Despite a couple of soft resets, despite resetting all settings in "Settings" and despite toggling "Contacts" to be "On" and "Off" a couple of times I still cannot get my "Contacts" to display on my nano's main menu. Has anyone else experienced this?
regards
RafaelYou're not alone. I'm having the same problem, and it continues to persist even after numerous resets and one restore.
Beyond that, I'm also having some nasty performance problems playing 30 minute, bookmarkable AAC files created using Audio Hijack Pro... just as slow as can be. I'm not really enthusiastic about isolating the combination of factors that turn these files into cold molasses, so I took the cowards way out.
I reverted back to 1.1.1 and life returned to normal. -
this is what the previous helped asked me to do, severely edited. then she told me to restart and i lost her.
You are now chatting with Firefox community member zzxc<br />
zzxc: Hello<br />
zzxc: Is it still in the add-ons tab/<br />
steve: hi. i dont see it. it usually is on the menu bar towards the left, at least before i did this upgrade<br />
steve: actually, i realize i dont know what an add-on tab loos like- previously it just floated between the "latest headlines" etc and the bookmark toolbar<br />
zzxc: look in Firefox->Addons<br />
steve: i'm on an imac osX snow leopard. i see add-ons under firefox>tools>addons, but when i click on that, nothing is opening<br />
zzxc: try going to about:addons in Firefox's address bar<br />
steve: if i understand, firefox>about just tells me that im using 8.0beta. the only place i see the word add-ons is under tools. unless im unclear about where you mean by firefox's address bar, which i'm thinking means the bar with my own bookmarks menu. the bar with the URL- i don't see anything on that like you describe.<br />
zzxc: ok - when you try to go to tools->addons, nothing happens?<br />
steve: it didnt my first 3 tries, and it opened a page which says: about:addons in the URL spot, and "add-ons manager" in the tab<br />
steve: just now opened that page<br />
steve: forgive my typing<br />
zzxc: ok - in there, look in Extensions. is downloadhelper enabled there?<br />
zzxc: (click it - you should see a disable button if it's enabled)<br />
steve: i assume it is enabled because the button there reads: disable"<br />
steve: btw, the i-click youtubedownloader and SpeakingFox say they’re incompatible with 8.0.<br />
zzxc: so it seems to be enabled<br />
zzxc: right click the toolbar and go to customize<br />
zzxc: see if the downloadhelper button is in the customize window<br />
steve: it's not there. the only addon there i recognize is Zotero<br />
zzxc: Do you see the downloadhelper logo on youtube video pages, to the left of the video title?<br />
zzxc: eg. look at http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=vpzUCA5i6zY<br />
zzxc: try with just downloadhelper enabled and no other add-ons enabled<br />
zzxc: other add-ons could be interfering with downloadhelper<br />
steve: ok i'll try that now- since the downloadhelper logo wasnt on the youtube page<br />
steve: ok. i disabled all except downloadhelper<br />
steve: but no downloadhelper logo appears anywhere on the toolbars or anywhere above<br />
zzxc: is there an error in Error Console about it?<br />
zzxc: command+shift+J on a mac<br />
steve: when i clicked on the errors tab, the window under it was blank<br />
zzxc: In Firefox, open the Firefox->Help menu and choose Troubleshooting Information. On the page that opens, click Copy all to clipboard. Finally, paste the clipboard into this chat by using CTRL+V. (You can also paste by right clicking and pressing paste)<br />
steve: ok thanks brb<br />
steve: hi zz. i clicked on COPY TO CLIPBD but it didnt do anything i could see. (is the clipboard something i find somewhere else? i am able to cut n paste that entire page if you want.<br />
zzxc: press CTRL+V in this chat<br />
zzxc: that should paste it here.Try:

The bookmark star has disappeared from my toolbar and can't find how to get it back
The bookmark star on the right side of the toolbar has disappeared. I have read the support articles and can not find anything on how to pin it to the task bar. I restored the tool bar and it did not reappear. What do I need to do to get it back. The bookmark tab is not a convenient.
Refresh the localstore.rdf file.
SEE: http://kb.mozillazine.org/Corrupt_localstore.rdf
After doing this, the toolbar layout will be reset. -
When it has disappeared I can open Firefox again using the menu or the opening icon on the toolbar, but then it only shows up blank, so without the tabs that were opened before. Closing down all other icons on the toolbar is the only way to make the Firefox icon reappear and for me to open Firefox again with all my tabs.
Please excuse my English, the jargon is difficult. Thanks for your reply, cor-el.
The odd thing is, this problem hasn't occurred again since I posted it. What kind of magic is that? :-))
It really is odd, since I had it at least twice a week for several months.
So far, so good, then.
I'll wait a while more, and will then close it as being solved. I guess that's the procedure.
We'll put it down to temporary bugs or pc mysteries.
Though I like the magic option more... -
All photos have disappeared from main photos tab
The main "photos" tab dirrectly under projects is showing no photos. The photos are still in their projects but not showing in all photos.
I do not have any filters checked. Can someone help me figure out what is going on. ThanksRunning Library First Aid (hold down Command and Option when launching Aperture) solved the issue. The last option Restoring library brought all the photos back if anyone is interested.
