History got deleted after firefox update 14, keeps repeating

I updated my Firefox Browser v 13 to v 14. However, after this my history got deleted without my deleting it. So I had to manually type each letter of my favourite sites.
But this problem keeps recurring. For example, I might visit gmail.com many times to appear on my most visited list; but after some time, the history will get deleted, and once again I will have to reenter each word of my site.

Ok, so I had to use a different computer than I did before because that one is totalled (both are pc's). I am positive I was signed in to my itunes account. So after I did the update the ipod was TOTALLY wiped clean, itunes didn't even recognize it as "David ipod" anymore, it now said 'new ipod". I'm completely clueless as to what happened, I read that itunes makes a backup before updating but I dont know how to find it. Any help will be very appreciated

Basically, itmes like music, apps themselves and some other suff is not part of the backup so after the update they can't be sunced from the iTunes library since they are not in the iTunes library.

Private mode and history automatic delete after Firefox closes is not working?

It keeps remembering history, download history, search & form history when its uncheck, cookies accepted until firefox closes and I have it set on clear history when firefox closes, but its not working even if I use the private browsing mode how do I fix this? (Keep in mind i uninstall to a newer versions but still dont work)
I close firefox Im still logged-in in many websites it doesnt clear anything...

If you leave tabs open when you close Firefox then that data is stored as part of the session data in sessionstore.js in the profile folder.

Do you still see old history after you clear the history?
If Clear Recent History isn't working on closing Firefox then make sure that Firefox closes properly. 
Use "Firefox/File > Exit" (Mac: "Firefox > Quit"; Linux: "File > Quit") to close Firefox if you are currently doing that by clicking the close X on the title bar.

The History for Firefox is kept in a separate location and in a separate file from IE's History. In Firefox, once deleted, History is not recoverable, or at best is very difficult/near impossible to recover. In Firefox, History and Bookmarks are both kept in a database, '''''places.sqlite''''', in your Profile folder.
If Bookmarks are accidentally deleted, they may be recovered by using ''Bookmarks > Show All Bookmarks > Organize > Undo'' '''but that must be done before closing/exiting Firefox'''; the same is NOT true for deleted History in Firefox.
Best advice, accept the mistake, and just move on.

After firefox update last night to 36.0.4, it is not starting?

After firefox update last night to 36.0.4. I cannot open Firefox. It says Firefox is already running, but is not responding. The old Firefox process must be closed to open.
I try to close it under task manager, it is not listed under process but under details - Cannot end task, as it says access is denied.
I try to look for help on the net. It says to delete the file PARENT.LOCK, It says action cannot be complete as the file is open in Firefox.
I try to shut down my computer, even log out on my current user but cannot delete the file Parent.lock.
I am using a win 8.0
The easiest way is to uninstall and to install a fresh application, but will this wipe out all my bookmarks etc....

Thank you for your question, since the parent.lock file cannot be removed it is possible to create a new profile:

Well, I hadn't rebooted after the 7.1.1 upgrade, but obviously I had to restart iTunes. After I rebooted my iBook iTunes worked... Maybe the 7.1.1 update should be marked with a must reboot?

If you have been regularly syncing/backing up your iPhone with iTunes or iCloud, you may try restoring it from the last backup.

This is rediculous!!! What type of "UPDATE" erases EVERYTHING when it fails?????? I just "Updated" my iTouch, it couldn't backup because I don't have 60 Gigs on my computer (and I'm sure no one else in MAC land does either! ) It updated the software, i gues failed... looked like it worked, then said it's returning to factory settings, found an old back up from three onths ago, then wiped my iTouch IN THAT ORDER. Oh, well my name is still on the iTouch. THANKS APPLE FOR NOTHING!

After Firefox updated to 3.6.12, my homepage stated that I did not have the Flash Player installed. The latest player was installed, but I uninstalled and attempted to re-install. After firefox updated to version 6.02, all bookmarks, history and settings were missing. It looks like my old profile was overwritten with a new blank one.

running windows 7 on a Dell desktop. Firefox updated yeaterday to version 6.02. When I next opened it, I could not find anything nor would the software let me restore bookmarks from the backup.

A possible cause is a problem with the file places.sqlite that stores the bookmarks and the history.
