History on an ipad
when using Safari on the ipad, is there anyway to see History and pull up a site visited earlier as you can on a mac? thanks joanlvh
joanlvh,
Touch the Bookmark icon in Safari, then touch "Bookmarks" in the upper left hand corner of the window. That will reveal your History. Touch History.

How do I clear the browsing history on my iPad?
How do I clear the browsing history on my iPad 2?
Settings > Safari > Clear History (and Clear Cookies And Data if you want to clear them as well).
If you also want to clear your search history (i.e. the words/phrases that you've typed in the search box) then you may also need to close Safari completely : from the home screen (i.e. not with Safari 'open' on-screen) double-click the home button to bring up the taskbar, then press and hold any of the apps on the taskbar for a couple of seconds or so until they start shaking, then press the '-' in the top left of the Safari app to close it, and touch any part of the screen above the taskbar so as to stop the shaking and close the taskbar. -
My safari browser is not keeping history on my iPad
My safari is no longer keeping history on my iPad 2
try this, open safari, click book icon upper right, bookmarks menu drops down, in bookmarks menu upper left click on the word "Bookmarks"'(it's probably in a blue colored font), History should be the second one from the top of the menu now, hope this works for you!

Why can't I see the purchase history from the ipad? I mean, I can buy apps and in game content directly from my iPad, but I have have to install iTunes on my PC to see the purchase history? What kind of deal is that?
Welcome to Apple Communities
You don't need to install iTunes for the purchase history. You can see it in your iPad (iTunes > Purchased), but you need to install it if you want the order numbers -
HT204088 Are you able to view iTunes purchase history on an iPad?
Are you able to view iTunes purchase history on an iPad? I am looking for purchase price as well.
The Apple Support Communities are an international user to user technical support forum. As a man from Mexico, Spanish is my native tongue. I do not speak English very well, however, I do write in English with the aid of the Mac OS X spelling and grammar checks. I also live in a culture perhaps very very different from your own. When offering advice in the ASC, my comments are not meant to be anything more than helpful and certainly not to be taken as insults.
The level of information that you seek is available in the iTunes app on a computer. You can view the invoices for your entire purchase history for both the iTunes stores and the Mac App Store from there. -

Restoring safari history on the ipad
My son is deleting his safari history, and I am wondering how to view the safari history after it has been deleted.
There is no way to stop clearing history in Safari/iPad at present.
Try Kidsafe browsers.
Best. -
ITunes won't connect to store so I can look at my purchased history using my iPad.
I have a iPad and I'm trying to view my purchased history for iTunes but it keeps telling me that it can't connect to the store. I just got charged $32 and they didn't send me an email so I have know idea what I got charged for. Is anyone else having problems connecting to iTunes to view their purchased history using the ipad? And is there something I can do to fix it?
Try:
- iOS: Not responding or does not turn on
When it says place the iPod in recovery mode use one of these program
For PC
RecBoot: Easy Way to Put iPhone into Recovery Mode
If necessary:
Download QTMLClient.dll & iTunesMobileDevice.dll for RecBoot
and
RecBoot tip
For MAC or PC
The Firmware Umbrella - TinyUmbrella
- If not successful and you can't fully turn the iOS device fully off, let the battery fully drain. After charging for an least an hour try the above again.
- Try on another computer
- If still not successful that usually indicates a hardware problem and an appointment at the Genius Bar of an Apple store is in order.

HT201304 What can I do if my child has deleted her YouTube watch history on her iPad mini?
iOS: Understanding Restrictions (parental controls)
Yes, she is sneaky. Maybe that would stop if she knew you were keeping an eye on what she was watching. I don't really know if you can prevent her access to the browser's history file. Restrictions controls is not very robust from what I can tell. And, she will probably learn how to crack your controls from her geeky friends. But there is a lot to be said for the effective "or else" mode of control. As much as I hate to say it kids her age are getting cleverer by the day and watching some of the most inappropriate stuff.
I sympathize with your situation. I'm thankful when my daughter was that age there were no cell phones and iPads. I don't know how your generation can stand it. I read stories about what can happen to youngsters who do stuff they shouldn't. Makes me want to smack 'em. But kids like to stretch the limits, and the older they get the more they like to stretch. Maybe just the threat of you checking her stuff every day will keep her honest. But you have to have an effective penalty. With our daughter we used to remove her telephone. It was worse than death. And, when she crossed the line we kept our word and penalized her appropriately. Today she's a mother and a lawyer. She turned out pretty well. But between 12 and 25 she was a handful.
I wish I had a solution for you, but I don't. Maybe someone else around here does. -
HT201322 How to delete app history in new iPad 4
I have a new iPad 4 that when connected to iTunes has automatically added Apps into my history that I downloaded in the last few years but no longer use or even appear on my iPhone or in iTunes. It won't let me hide or delete them on the device either. Any thoughts on what I can do?
You can't currently permanently delete any items from your purchase history, all you can do is hide. As it says on the page that you posted from, hiding doesn't work directly on iOS 6 devices, but you should still be able to hide them via your computer's iTunes

How do I restrict my child from deleting the Safari History, he usually deletes the History and then I never know what exacly he is looking at. I don't want to set too many restrictions, and not be as controlling, but would still like to know what pages he looks at. But he always deletes his History. Any suggestions? Thanks.
Where did you see a "Parental Control Settings pane"?
The only parental control that I am aware of is the Restrictions part.
You can - for example - restrict the use of certain apps, installation/deletion of apps, in-app purchases, etc.
You can also restrict the use of certain websites or define your own restricted websites.
If your child wants to visit a certain website, he would have to ask your permission.
BTW, if you restrict Websites > Specific Websites Only = On, then the history cannot be cleared anymore, except by the person who knows the Restrictions passcode. This feature could be of interest to you, but your child would then literally be limited to visit certain websites of your personal choice only.
Anyway, if you don't want to restrict the Clear History function, then I can't think of another solution right now.
Make sure you don't forget your Restrictions passcode, otherwise you have to restore the iPad. -
Hi deleting web history on an iPad
Can anyone please tell me how you delete web pages on the iPad can't seem to work out what to do this
If you want to close a tab then just tap the 'x' on the left-hand end of its tab.
To clear Safari's history tap on Settings > Safari > Clear History, and if you want to clear its cache then you can do so via Settings > Safari > Clear Cookies And Data (Clear Cache on iOS 4).
You may also need to close Safari via the taskbar and do a soft-reset, otherwise you may still see your previous tabs on Safari. To close Safari via the taskbar : from the home screen (i.e. not with Safari 'open' on-screen) double-click the home button to bring up the taskbar, then press and hold any of the apps on the taskbar for a couple of seconds or so until they start shaking, then press the '-' in the top left of the Safari app to close it, and touch any part of the screen above the taskbar so as to stop the shaking and close the taskbar.
To do a reset : press and hold both the sleep and home buttons for about 10 to 15 seconds (ignore the red slider), after which the Apple logo should appear - you won't lose any content, it's the iPad equivalent of a reboot.
When you re-open Safari you should just get an empty tab -
Im worried that my ipad is being used without my knowledge, I am randomly losing whole conversations from my messages although they are still visible on my iphone. I wanted to see when my ipad was last accessed before i start accusing people of messing with it.
I'm not aware of any setting or app that will do what you are looking for, but it possible you might find something in the app store.
You should consider changing your pass code and possibly using complex rather than simple pass code. And keeping the device secure when not in your possession. -
I have a long stream of iMessages on my iPad from messaging friends, and I can view messages by scrolling to the top of the screen and clicking 'Load Earlier Messages' and it loads about 20 or so previous messages. But where are these messages being stored and how can I view them? I occassionally need to access messages from a while back but I don't want to keep scrolling up and loading from my current point one click at a time. How can I view these iPad files?
Thanks a lotThe only way to do it is the way you are doing it now. You can take screen shots of them as you are viewing them and edit those together to keep on your PC if you want to do it that way.
