Hitachi Touro Desk 2GB USB 3.0 incompatible with the W520

I bought one of these:

for the purpose of doing regular windows system images so I can restore the complete system in case of problems.
Surprisingly, the crystal mark shows the USB drive being faster than my internal WD 750GB Scorpio Black, which I always thought was dog slow.
However, this drive does not work with the W520 and windows system image.  You always get:
   The backup failed.
   The request could not be performed because of an I/O device error. (0x8007045D).
First Hitachi told me that this was a known Microsoft incompatibility with all 512E drives (i.e. 4k blocks physically, 512k logicaly), which is false as I have two other 2GB 512E drives which work just fine (Vertbatim and a WD) with system image.
Then they said it must be the computer chipset and USB drivers (both are up to date).
So its RMA.

The issue could be related to drive firmware not compatible with system board.
You must update the hard drive firmware then check it may resolve the issue.

    Did some one solved the Problem with the Hitachi Touro Mobile Pro USB Harddrive in Windows 8 ?
    This drive is compartible with Windows 8 and get installed fine but in Windows 8 when you plug it in it gets installed as SCSI drive. I am sure it should be installed as IDE drive. The result is you cant use the drive right, like slow reading of a file up
    to no reading at all. And this harddrive is relativly new so Windows 8 should be aible to do the job.
    I wrote to Hitachi Support and they told me Microsoft 8 is the problem and Microsoft told me Hitachi is the problem....
    The solution would be to re do the driver for USB 2.0 and USB 3.o so it can detect all USB devices correct and install the right driver.
    I did install Windows 8 now 3 times and this problem occours for me still. So I will have to wait until this is solved , becourse I am not will to buy a new harddrive

    Yes the Drive is compatible with windows 8 and windows 8.1, but it does not open any files on the hard drive so useless...I talked with Hitachi and the have send the correct driver to microsoft, but it is up to them when they get integrated.This drive works
    just fine in Windows 7 Pro. I tried to use the drive in different Laptops with windows 8.1 and still the same problem. So clearly it is not a Problem on my Laptop !

    Hello Experts,
    Infocube A is getting updated from shopping carts DSO. I have added 3 new fields in SC DSO then cube transformations got inactive.  I do not want 3 new fields in cube. we have report on DSO. Below is syntax error when  checking transformations.
    Error: In PERFORM or CALL FUNCTION "ROUTINE_9998", the actual parameter "SOURCE_PACKAGE" is incompatible with the formal parameter "DATA_PACKAGE".
    3 New fields are available in tys_SC_1 but not available in tys_SC_1_full. I tried to insert 3 fields in tys_SC_1_full but still it is showing same syntax error.  And more TYPE is availalbe tys_TG_1_full.  This type does not have 3 fields.
    Please  advice.

    I have resolved issue by addinng fields to data package. Issue is becasue of 4 fields in source and I have added only 3 fields in data package. Added one more field to data package and no syntax errors when checked.

    John, since you seem quite familiar with the ABAP help and obsolete statements I'm now surprised what you were initially asking for.. .
    Anyhow, below a sample coding with the table being passed as a USING parameter. Avoid using VALUE on the parameter (i.e. pass by value) unless you need a copy of the parameter. Otherwise this leads to a performance overhead (requirement to copy the parameter), especially for large internal tables.
    TYPES T_RESBB_TAB TYPE STANDARD TABLE OF RESBB WITH NON-UNIQUE DEFAULT KEY.
    DATA I_RESBB TYPE T_RESBB_TAB.
    PERFORM OBTAIN_RESBB_DATA USING I_RESBB.

    P.S.: Update of my posting: Just read your one comment. Looks like your only problem was attempting to define the table type in the parameters section of the form routine. This doesn't work. If you don't have a type you could use a generic type (i.e. simply just say <i>using i_resbb type table</i>), but in general I would stick to strong typing unless you have a generic routine that must handle different table types. So simply refer to a table type from dictionary or that you defined in your program.

    Where is the Apple problem? I have CS4 and CS5 running perfectly fine on my Macbook Pro. Installed 5 after Lion upgrade. Worth every cent. Adobe did have some catching up to do with Lion but with the CS5.5 update all runs fine. But not yours. So it is a problem with the Lion OS? You say you have been with Adobe since 2005. So you would be aware of all the other issues that Adobe had catching up with past Oss in Mac and Windows then. They get it right, but it is up to them. It is not up to Apple, nor Microsoft for that matter, to run around and check that every software developer in the world is running their business properly.
    And what has politics got to do with anything. Some people just have to blame Software for their poor Hardware maintainence of failure of the same.

    IIRC essbase is a financial reporting add-in (Hyperion, or something similar?).
    This message is telling you that the add-in is not compatible with your current software. You should check with the vendor who provided the essbase add-in. Tell them what version of windows and Excel (and maybe Hyperion) you are using, and get a compatible
    version from them...
    If you do not need or run essbase/hyperion/etc then you should just remove/disable the add-in. If it doesn't show in your add-in menu, then you may have to do a repair installation or re-install Excel

    If you look to the right you will see a link for 'more system details' that is where such troubleshooting information appears, and it can sometime be helpful.
    I am using firefox on a couple of old XPs without problems. Obviously crashing is not expected behaviour, but please try to think of firefox as two separate parts the basic browser and all the additional software as addons and plugins.
    It may be rather unrewarding trying to track down the cause of a crash using crash information, the best way forward is probably to start using it in[[safe mode]] and with no plugins installed.

    If firefox is recommended by your university, why not try it out on one of their computers, presumably it is installed on the university computers available in the library etc, that should at least convince you that it does work.
    I hope the problem is not malware, but if it is all the personal computers you try, a possibility that can not be discounted is that it is some form of malware affecting those computers.
    Have you tried Internet Explorer, that will be installed on your XP by default I imagine, does that work ?

    Yes, you can unplug a printer without shutting down the computer, but if you are switching the printer to another computer then you should first turn off the printer, unplug it, re-connect to the other computer, then turn on the printer. This will assure that the printer will be properly recognized.
    If you have your computers networked via Ethernet then you can leave the printer connected to one computer and share it with the other via the network connection. Printer sharing is turned on using the Sharing preference in System Preferences. You will need to Add the printer on both computers so you will need the appropriate printer driver installed on both computers.

    USB/Firewire ports were designed to be "hot" plugged. You can safely plug and unplug devices without usually having to shut down the computer or the device. Some devices, such as external HDs, digital cameras and iPods need to be "ejected" first, so as not to damage their formatting or data.
    You can network your Macs wirelessly or with an ethernet cable and then set the printer connected to one computer to be shared with the other computer.

    Where can I find the "All Images" list?  When I go to Finder - Pictures there is nothing there (just the new iPhoto library that is empty).  They are not in the "All My Files" folder nor the Trash.     I used to be able to just plug in my phone with the USB cable to my Windows 7 computer and browse phone storage with no issues. Now my computer sees it as an android phone but when it tries to automatically install the drivers for my phone on the computer, i get an access denied error message. No option on the phone that i can see that allows me to mount phone as a usb drive. This used to work just fine with nothing more than just hooking up the cable. What gives??

        Let's get that access granted again, e_rock_b. The HTC DNA doesn't have a special USB Mass Storage Mode that needs to be turned on. Usually, it's as simple as connecting and browsing http://vz.to/1jktbZD as you mentioned. If your computer is no longer allowing that easy access, try the steps at http://vz.to/1jktvr6.

    As far as I know, if a harddrive works with a Macpro, it should work with the Macbook: if your Macbook is low on power, plug in the AC adapter
    If your Macbook has a firewire port, then it should be fine. BUt i would do somemore research first.
