Hi B2B Gurus/B2B Product Development Team,
Q1) I would like to know why MLLP protocol option is not available under Listening channel and Host partner's(my company) channel?
Why I want to know....+
We have bunch of inbound trading partners and each partner have bunch agreements. We are configuring inbound channel(MLLP) at trading partner level as server. In order to enable and disable the channel we have to deploy each and every agreement. It would have been nice if MLLP protocol is available at Listening channels or Host Partner's channel level that way it is easy to enable and disable the channels without deploying agreements.
Q2) Is there any functionality to view status of the configured inbound/outbound channels(Dash board like functionality)?
How it benifit.....+
We are migrating from Interface engine where I can see all my inbound and outbound connections and their status like server listening,client connected(who connected and what time they connected) etc.

Where does it store the configured channel information? ( which table holds partner level channel information under soa_infra)?Actually in 11g, it is not the SOA-INFRA schema which holds design time data rather it is the MDS schema which holds all the design time data of all the SOA components including B2B. The B2B_LIFECYCLE table in SOAINFRA schema can give you the references (path name) and using that you can search in MDS tables but it is not very straight forward. Even I am trying to understand how MDS stores the metadata exactly. It has two tables- MDS_PATH and MDS_COMPONENT which seems to hold data but how exactly one can query these tables, this is what I am trying to figure out.

i have a shot in animation that has a flower bouquet wiping across he screen diagonally left to right
problem is there is no alpha channel attached so i cant see whats underneath when it wipes
do i have to:
import this into after effects - mask out everything but the bouquet
then export with alpha channel
then import into final cut

i guess we either have to have the animator resend the Maya file with an alpha channel
All you need is the alpha version of the shot and run it in sync as a track matte. You don't the whole shot rendered again, you just need the grayscale/alpha/shadow pass, whatever it's called in Maya. However, are you sure you can't pull amatte from the shot as it is? Isn't it matted over superblack or does it have a premultipled matte/alpha?

Communication Channel is not working

I have moved the design and configuration from quality XI server to product XI server. But when I start the Communication Channel in RWB, the LED is green, and I cannot get the log details at log area. The communication Channel is file adapter for FTP. The ftp file cannot be picked up. In fact, communication Channel is not executed. I have check SLD for product, software, business system and Technical system, no error is found. Anyone can tell me the reason about that?

Things to check:
1. If you have adopted the file based transportation approach then you will loose configuration channel related data .
you need to feed the data.
2. If you have adopted the CMS transportation approach, then case will be different
a) Try to ping the FTP server from XI Prod Server, it should ping .
b) If it is showing green it means it is able to locate the FTP server, kindly check the file name once again....
Let us know the scenario also and also how the scenario is behaving differently
Note : File Name is case sensitive 1.xml is different from 1.XML

CSCur12358 - 1532 AP channel announce on DFS not working

I wonder if this bug is relevant to the ETSI domain.
From what I have seen we can only configure UNI2-extended channels for the mesh backhaul part.
This means we have static channels and not DCA (Not possible on the controller to configure DCA)
So channel announcement. What would that do for us ? I would say nothing! the channel will be unusable for 30 minutes
and we can´t change to another as the mesh backaul is not using dynamic channels. So I guess this bug
actually is helping. If it did the announce, it would take down other MAPs in the chain aswell. Anyone experiencing this ?.
I see that in my mesh installatoin with 3 APs. One of them keeps detecting radar and go down for 30 minutes.

Experiencing increased channel noise levels on PXIe4497 with 1071 fan on HIGH

I am using a PXIe-4497 to collect microphone data and when I switch the PXI chassis 1071e fan to HIGH setting, the noise level increases. The chassis is outside of an isolated test chamber, so the noise isn't occuring acoustically. Please see the FFT plot below of fan on AUTO (white trace) and fan on HIGH (red trace). Has anyone had this issue?

There was some noise getting the pass through into the chamber. We added more sound insulation to block it out. Here's what it looks like with the added insulation (FAn on HIGH, white trace is with added insulation):
But as you can see there are ~256Hz harmonics. The data below is for MIC Y which is last channel the PXI-4492 (first module). The difference between AUTO and HIGH settings is now:

Auto and HIGH fan settings are close to being similar for MIC Z> Here are MICs X (white), Y(red), and Z (green) plotted together with fan on HIGH...X and Y are on PXI-4492 (last two inputs) and Z is on PXI-4497:
As you can see MIC Z doesn't have the 256Hz harmonics. We swapped the Z with the Y channels to see if it was MIC or channel related. Below is MIC Z in last input channel of PXI-4492 (where MIC Y was originally):
The noise follows the input channel, not the MIC. Here is the other side of the swap...MIC Y in first input channel of PXI-4497:
No significant change now between Auto and HIGH fan settings.
This seems to be input module related....

OSB -11g - Calling JMS Proxy Service in a stage

Hi,
When we createa JMS based proxy service, the proxy service keeps on polling the JMS Queue for any new messages arriving in the queue. But I do not want the proxy service to keep on polling the Queue. Instead I want to call the JMS Proxy Service in any stage (of any other Proxy Service) using a service callout. It means that I do not want the Queue to be polled always, instead the queue should be polled only when this JMS Proxy Service is invoked.
Is it possible to do? If so, how?

Following is my requirement:
The producer wants to interact with us using Web Services. The input payload has some more values (username and password) apart from the HL7 data (base64 encoded) itself. I have to receive the input payload, authenticate the call and convert the HL7 encoded message into an XML and send it to the consumer.
What have I done till now:
1) I have created two Proxy Services PS1 and PS2
2) Proxy Service (PS1) will be invoked by the producer.
3) Then I get the username, password and data from the payload
4) Populate the username and password in the SOAP Header and HL7 data in SOAP Body
5) Call PS2 from PS1
6) In PS2 I have configured Message Level Security to authenticate with the username and password
7) After authentication I make a Java Callout to decode the base64 encoded HL7 data
8) I now have written my own HL7 sender (Java code) which wraps the decoded HL7 data with MLLP requirements and then send it to the B2B server using a Socket (TCP connection). I do a Java Callout to this Java class.
9) In B2B I have configured a RTP (Remote Trading Partner) which has a MLLP channel.
10) I created a ADT message document and a ACK document
11) I created two agreements between HTP and RTP (one agreement receives the HL7 data from the TRP using MLLP and another which sends the ACK to the RTP using MLLP channel)
12) In the receiveing agreement I have configured a JMS channel (on the HTP side) becuase of which B2B receives the HL7 Pipe delimited data and translates it and then pushes the XML data into the JMS queue (which needs to be transformed to producer XML)
13) I have also configured a JMS channel for the RTP which I am using in second agreement to get the acknowledgement. Because of this the ACK is placed in a JMS queue.
I need to poll this JMS queue in order to send the ACK back to the producer (which I have to do in the response pipeline of PS2). Hence I wanted to pop the message from the JMS queue in the response pipeline and then send that message.
Please advice if my approach is correct.

JMS adapter webspehere mq, network failure - stop

Hello,
After a network failure the JMS sender adapter (JMS --> XI) goes red, and doesn't automatically recover after a network failure. It is necessary to manually stop and start the adapter. This is bad design from SAP. You would like it to behave like the ftp adapter which automatically continues to poll for files after a network outage.
What can be done to overcome this bad design?
I'm on XI SP 18.
My Idea is to use the new AAM described in

I have now built a workaround solution based on the AAM API.
It is implemented as a J2EE stateless session bean and a J2EE client. The client reads config with information about which channels to restart and calls the bean which checks status on the channels and restarts the ones with errors or in a stopped state. We schedult the program to run every 5 minutes and check the status.
Check the channelstatus.jsp for hints on how to use the api.
It's a pity SAP hasn't got this functionality builtin, it's clearly a design error.

Linksys WUMC710 bridge crashes Airport Extreme (802.11ac) network

I have just bought the Linksys/Cisco WUMC710 802.11ac bridge to use with my Apple Airport Extreme (the 802.11ac). After resolving some channel related issues getting the Linksys to see the network, I now find that after about 30 seconds of having the Linksys on the wireless network, it causes the Airport to go into an error mode (orange flashing light) and the whole wireless and wired network (running through the Airport) fluctuates or disappears entirely. Powering down the Linksys restores everything back to normal.
I am on latest Airport firmware, and v1.0.1 for the Linksys. The Linksys is about 5m away from the Airport at the moment. Security is WPA2 personal.
Any thoughts on what might be causing this?

How can I control individual pins of VHDCI connector on PXIe-6548?

I need to use the VHDCI interface on slot 3 i.e. NI PXIe-6548 of NI PXIe-1062Q for testing purposes. I need to raise or lower the individual lines from the available 68 lines. Do I need to use VISA to do so?
If not VISA, how do NI-HSDIO VIs that are availble with LabView 2009 help to do so? The MAX test pannel specifies channel 0-15 and 16-31. How are these channels related to the 68 lines?

I still have some problems. I appreciate every bit of your help.
How does the in-built ni HSDIO VI take care of the parallel communication protocol. e.g. There are some pins as chip-select, Rd/xWr etc. they need to be raised or lowered according to the operation. Now, I am trying to communicate with the DUT using 9 bit data, 9 bit address.
I tried to write in the DUT using static generation VI. I formed a word of 20 bits according to the mapping of 9 address, 9 data, a chip-select and a RD/xWR and generated that word on the channels 0-19.
But when I tried to read data from DUT, It acquires the same data that was written on 0-19. For a read operation, the active-low chip select is lowered after the rising edge of the clock, RD/xWR is raised, and the respective address lines are raised, then on the next positive edge of the clock the data is sampled. I do not understand how to make all of this happen using Labview. Instead of reading back from the DUT, the VI gives me the same pattern that I generated.
I know how the parallel communication is supposed to happen, but I don't understand how LabView is supposed to be used for this.
Please help.

How to change an existing JScrollPane table

Hi there,
I have defined a JScrollPane panel. I call the class "NorthCenterPanel " this the first time with "defaultPanel". This shows me a correct table. Next time I calle the same class from the class=Listen(see below) with "createPanel", because I want to change the table.
This I cannot get to work. When the new table is shown I have to click on the JScrollPane to have it to change the table of which is done, but the column names do not change.
Any suggestions?

1) Use the "Code" formatting tags when posting code so the code is readable
2) In the future, Swing related quesitons should be posted in the Swing forum.
3) don't use "==" to compare Objects, use the equals(...) method
In general, when you add or remove a compont from a panel then you need to revalidate() the panel.
The easiest way to replace a table it to simply replace the data in the table. So you just do something like:
DefaultTableModel model = new DefaultTableModel(....);
table.setModel(...);
Now there is no need to remove and add the component or revalidate the panel.

Change client in scenarios with SAP business system

Did you ever wonder how you can change the client of a Business System and it's related communication channels in scenarios that make use of SAP systems?
One might think that changing the client in the communication channel (sender and/or receiver) is enough.
Unfortunately this is not the case. If you change only the client in the communication channel you'll get the following error: "lookup of alternativeServiceIdentifier via CPA-cache failed for channel XYZ"
It took me a while to figure this out, but finally I got it.
Two options:
a) Either you create a new business system in the SLD and you restart the configuration of all your scenarios, or
b) You change the client from the business system in the SLD
I definitely didn't want to go for option 1, as it meant that I had to redo a lot of scenarios (sender agreement, receiver determination etc.). I would have lost significant time and the configuration work is subject to errors as well which would have meant retesting all of the flows.
Therefore I explain in this thread option (b)
SLD:
1) In the SLD in the Technical Systems area, create a new client for the Web AS ABAP system.
2) In the SLD in the Business Systems area, click on the system that is to be associated with a new client.
3) Click on the Integration tab
4) Change the associated technical system and choose your new client
remark: the name of the business system might be somehow misleading if you specified the client as part of its name.
Integration Directory:
1) Delete the Business System
2) Activate Changes
3) Import the modified Business System
4) Assign the new client to the communication channels related to the business system. (as the name of the Business System is still the same as before, the communication channels are automatically assigned to it)
5) Activate Changes

1) For Web AS ABAP Technical Systems, I would rather ask BASIS to execute RZ70 in order to create the entry in TS of SLD. This will list down all the client of the SAP server.
2) If the Business System name you created is not client specific like

SCP_Tst /// Not client specific name
I mean if the Business System name is not client specific then no need to delete the Business System just go for
Service ( Edit Mode ) --> Adapter Specific Indentifiers --> (click button ) Compare with SLD & then Apply button

Multi-Instrument + Multi-Thread problem found

Right.....I have done a lot of research on why logic was not multi-threading correctly and have narrowed it down to one problem...using Kontakt as a multi instrument.
My Mac is a 2 x 2.26 GHz Quad-Core Intel Xeon. This means that it is capable of distributing work loads over the multiple cores of the CPU to prevent core audio overloads from happening.
If I run any plug ins in stereo or mono mode, the CPU acts as it should; I will load up a program, add processing and when the load is becoming a strain for the CPU, I use a bus send and work on that, then the workload is redistributed across more of the cores by logic, allowing me to continue working.
However, I need to use Kontakt as a multi instrument. I usually have 3 instances of Kontakt open and on each one of these, I usually have a minimum of 10 outputs being sent to the aux channels of logic. Therefore using Kontakt as a stereo instrument is not an option, as I would have to open around 30 instances!
Here is the problem; say for example, in Kontakt I send a kick drum out of Kontakt into AUX 3 + 4. The AUX channel in logic will being to show output. I can now EQ this single kick drum seperate from any other sound in logic.
If I began to add processor heavy plug ins to this AUX output, rather than share the workload across the cores as it should and does with stereo instruments, logic now only uses a single core and it will core audio overload very quickly.
As I said, this only happens when I set up Kontakt as a multi instrument. The main problem is when I begin to have many different outputs from my 3 instances of Kontakt, as by this stage, many different sounds will have processing. All 3 multi instruments and their processing are then controlled by the single processor and the other 7 are almost inactive! It therefore becomes impossible to use Kontakt and I have to switch to stereo instances. This happens for all multi-instruments not just Kontakt.
I have just purchased Kontakt 4, I am upgrading to OSX 10.6 (Snow Leopard) and am updating Logic to v9.1. (From v9.0) Will this help at all? Is there an answer to this problem or will I just have to open 30 stereo and mono instances of Kontakt to continue working!
I have included a link to a ZIP file with two photos of the problem. In the photo named MASSIVE. I have one instance of massive running as a stereo instrument. It is sent to a BUS where I applied the WAVES L316 Limiter. I did this multiple times and if you can see on the system performance (Top right) Logic is sharing the workload over the processors as it should.
In the second picture named KONTAKT MULTI - I have done the same thing, but I have opened Kontakt as a multi instrument, sent a kick drum to AUX 2 and then forwarded this to a send where I applied the same WAVES L316. You can see on the system performance meter (Top Right) that Logic now does not re-distribute the workload, it is using one core and anymore plug ins applied to the AUX or bus channels relating to Kontakt will now make it core audio over load, even though now I am using far less processing.

Invested £159 in Pro 9 update, same problem.
This has stopped most of my work since my external WK4 sounds are superior to the included software sounds.
As suggested, will now report since since it obviously seems to be a general problem.

Oddball client not mounting XSan Volumes

Background: My client, a TV News broadcast station, had Apple and a third-party design and install a Apple based XSan storage and network. They ran all new fiber and gigabit ethernet to each station to use the XSan. It has been working great, with the exception noted below.
Setup: 2 MD Controllers, 1 XServe, 4 XRaids, each make up two 2 large TB volumes (raid 5, stripped together).
XServe, XRAID, MD controllers, and all clients are all connected together on a Fibre and Fiber Optic network using QLogic switches. SUBNET: 10.200.1.x.
Ethernet Network, also connected all the above together on HP Gigabit Switches. SUBNET: 10.100.1.x The public WAN is made available on this subnet by a connection to the HP switches. Still getting details on how this was done.
Everything is running OS X 10.4.8 or better, XSan File System 1.4.
Setup
There are 8 workstations (edit bays) that act as infusion and editing stations. Each station has two XSans volumes mounted NEWS01 and NEWS02. They have the odd numbered bays use NEWS01 and the even numbered bays use NEW02.
PROBLEM
All bays mount the XSan volumes, except one. FCP08 will not mount the XSan volumes. We have rebooted the workstation, and even went to the extreme of shutting down the entire setup all bays and MD controllers, File Servers, etc.. then bringing everything backup up. Same problem.
Based on some forum discussion, we have tried the following:
* Ensured that there is no empty mount point in /Volumes
* Uninstalled all XSan Software and resinstalled v1.4 from Apple's website.
* Removed the client from the XSan Admin, and readded it, made sure to enter valid serial number, etc..
* Verified that all fibers are working, all link lights look good, and you can ping across the MD network.
When you use the XSan admin from either FCP08 (edit bay 08) or from the server, and you add both MD XSans to it, you see the client, and you click on the client and click either Mount (read-only) or Mount (Read/write).
It will show "Mounting..." and then it will flip back to "not mounted". The only feedback we have received so far is "ACCESS DENIED". All affinity setting are set to rwxrwxrwx (wide open), and all the volumes and workstation logins all have the same access to the volumes. I can not find any restrictive permissions anywhere.
I plan on trying to move them away from a /etc/hosts type setup to a proper DNS Server running on their XServe using the DNS Server function of OS X Server. But currently all edit bay stations have the same /etc/hosts file installed, which accounts for MD and ethernet networks.
ANY IDEAS what is wrong with this workstation? With the setup?
I have had extreme ideas from some who have said that we need to blitz the entire client, and reinstall the operating system. I am not willing to go down that route, since each edit bay was built manually without an image (another aspect I will remedying soon). It will take sometime to rebuild this edit bay client if I that is the only solution.
The only this question I have if that is the popular opinion, is what is different from a client OS install and the existing one regarding the XSan? This are edit bays, not private workstations, and no one installs any extra software or surfs the net, etc.. They are used for ingest and editing only.

You could check if it is Fibre Channel related:
from a terminal do a cvlabel -l
this should give you a list of the lun's in your volume.
When this tool does not show luns, you might have a zoning issue.

WLAN access point "missing" when connection alread...

I have an E63 with version 400.21.013 firmware. However, I have experienced this problem from day one. I do not have a data plan but I use WLAN at various locations, and there is a list of access points in the Settings.
I have a home access point configured with WPA2 and I have all the settings saved in the Connection Manager (or is it WLAN Wizard - I don't know). When the phone is not connected to any AP and I use a program that wants data, it will almost always show the "Home" AP in the list which appears right after "Searching for available access points" is briefly displayed. "Home" shows up right below Search for WLAN. There is no problem making the first connection.
However, if the "Home" AP is already in use and I open another program that wants data, at times it will not show my Home AP in the list. If "Searching for available access points" is only displayed for a split second, "Home" will not be in the list. Sometimes I can close the program and open it again and if "Searching for available access points" stays on screen for about a second, then "Home" will be on the list and I can connect. Sometimes I will have to try 3, 4, 5 times, and sometimes it will never "see" the AP unless I disconnect the WLAN and start all over.
Right at this moment, there is no problem. I can open program after program and connect via my "Home" AP. But it is frustrating when it does happen. Has anyone seen this or found a remedy?

Have you tried changing the WLAN channel (i.e. frequency) of your home WLAN access point / router?
Try switching between few different channels (like 1, 3, 6, 9, 11) to see if some channel happens to work more reliably. It is possible that there is some radio interference (neighbouring WLAN networks, cordless phones, Bluetooth devices etc.) on the currently used WLAN channel, causing phone to discover this network less reliably.
In case your WLAN access point / router includes 802.11n support, make sure that your AP's "channel width" is set to a standard 20MHz mode (instead 20/40MHz).
This is a bit long shot suggestion (just guessing), but if switching the WLAN channel related setting on the AP doesn't help then you could also try editing your phone's access point (the one created for you home WLAN network, under Tools -> Settings -> Connection -> Access Points) so that your phone should consider this particular WLAN network as an "Hidden SSID" (even if network really isn't hidden) by changing the "Network status" setting from Public to Hidden.

VB Language Issue in DIADEM

Somewhat elementary question. Is there a way to change channel names from a script in DIADEM? If so, how is it done? I cannot seem to find a function that does this.

Assuming you know the channel number (x) here is what you want to do :
CN(x) = "new name"
There is a more general approach to change any channel related properties : Go to the DataPortal, select the channel and then drag and drop the property you want to change from the list in the lower part of the DataPortal to the SCRIPT window. You will get a line of code generated telling you what the name of the parameter is. For the channel name you should get something like this :
ChnPropGet("[1]/Torque", "name") ??? Call ChnPropSet("[1]/Torque", "name", "")
You want to select either the "Get" or the "Set" function from the generated code.
