Okay, I hate to contribute to the long line of people with "iPod wont connect" problems but this has been bothering me for over a month now.
I had purchased a 30 gig video iPod about a month ago- just after my iPod mini had been wiped clean of all its songs and failed to show up in Windows. After I bought the new iPod, I just simply popped in the disc and everything worked fine. iTunes loaded up and showed the iPod in the grouping list, and I registered it, named it and everything. Problem is, after I ejected it and turned the computer off something mysterious happened- when I booted back up in hopes of updating the iPod again with new songs, it wouldn't connect at all. This was very new and strange, so I went through the steps of resetting the iPod while it was connected via USB. I also uninstalled iTunes, QuickTime and the 01-10-06 update and reinstalled them via the disc packaged with the iPod. I'm very reluctant to trying a "restore" because there's no 100% chance of this method working and puts my iPod in risk of losing all songs and data that I DO have access to on the iPod for nothing.
The tricky thing is that after I uninstall/reinstall then connect the iPod, the New Hardware Wizard shows that a "disc drive" and an "Apple iPod USB device" has been detected. Though the Wizard says this, I always see the iPod under the My Compuer folder as "Removable Drive F". I don't know if that's a bad thing at all, but I never get any response from iTunes when it's labeled under "Removable Drive F" as it gets a response as "IPOD E". So far, the iPod hasn't appeared in My Computer as "IPOD E (or F)" since I first got it and registered it.
Am I/did I do anything wrong. Is there any method I can follow to get the iPod recognized without a restore? Is there any other application I can use rather than iTunes that will let me sync my pictures, videos and AAC songs onto my iPod without this hassling?

When your iPod shows up as a removable drive, that means that your computer recognizes it as, well, a drive. Which means that when you connect your iPod, a folder sometimes shows up with folders saying "Notes", "Contacts", etc. so you can access them with .txt files for notes, and contacts from Outlook Express.
First, make sure you have the latest version of iPod software:

Or, to get rid of this, connect your iPod and go into iTunes>Edit>Preferences. Then click the iPod tab. On the bottom there should be four tabs, uncheck the one that says "Enable iPod for Disk Use".

some behaviour notes.
1. If I call the proc directly, I dont see the huge IO, its only dbms_job.run that does it.
2. If I call the dbms_job.run a second time I dont see it, its only when I flush the shared pool which simulates the first time I could be calling the proc which is how I found it initially
3. If I call the dbms_job.run outside of a proc I do see it.
4. Watch your IO and CPU if you generate it. Huge spike to coincide with the figures in the trace.
5. 4294967293 is very close 2^32, is also the size of my shared pool so looks like entire pool is being dumped.
6. Have reproduced on 3 instances on 3 separate servers. all same version 11.2.0.2.0 and patch level which is 2012 Q2.
7. change the proc to have the variable commented out and we dont see the dump.
8. I have a call open with support a while now but havent been able to reproduce on their side. Interested to see if someone has OEL 5, 11.2.0.2 instance, can generate it and also an 11.2.0.3 instance and can show its not in that.

Here is the solution that I received from the chat line.
When you update applications like Pages it usually keeps both versions on the computer. So what most likely happened is it didn’t put the new version on your dock. So to fix this, open a finder window. And go into applications which should be listed on the left. Scroll down and you will see Pages listed in here. And the icon should look different. You can drag that icon down onto your dock.Open that and you then can access your documents -

This may well be simply a problem on my local computer,
but...
I have placed the Actions window on my second monitor (dual
monitor system, Win XP), to that (docked in the same window) I have
added the Output, Compile Errors and Help windows so that they can
all be moved and viewed as one. However, in this configuration I
cannot exit Flash.
I have tried every combination of these windows in pairs and
triplets, but when I add the fourth window to the set, I cannot
close Flash.

When someone trys to get into my iCloud on à different device, either then on my trusted devices, do i recieve then an email? i have à iMac iPad and iPhone and i live in Holland, is this possible or only for the future?
I want all my devices to be on a password related internet but the double nat on my TC makes weird things happen and slow. I try bridge mode but the internet doesn't work.
You building supplied internet is a cheap service that is without proper routable addresses..
Therefore to use more than one IP you MUST have double NAT.. sorry there is no choice..
Slow that is because you are sharing internet with every other person in the building.. get your own broadband service.
Bridge will not work.. it cannot work because the building only has private IP addressing. And they only give you a single address.
You can put a password on the wireless.. go to the airport utility and put in a password.
Other than that I don't understand what password you expect.
Can I get an explanation of what bridge mode is?
No NAT.. means the TC becomes a dumb Wireless AP and switch.. works fine with a cable modem router.. or any broadband router but useless with your building system.
Can I get suggestions on what I should do to use the TC as a wireless device to spread the same wireless device my apartment is broadcasting?

OK not sure if I've found a bug or if I just need to get some sleep but could someone try the following and report back:
*Note nothing here should harm your library but if you're squeamish you might want to do this on a test library*
1. Go into Browser view, select one of the library smart albums, doesn't matter which one.
2. Click the magnifying icon to open the smart settings window.
3. Leaving the smart settings window open, select the Photos icon. All your images should be displayed. The top of the smart settings window should read *Smart Settings: Photos*
4. Which ever check box is selected (most likely its the ratings checkbox) deselect it. The browser window should go blank. Click the x to close the smart settings window.
5. Now, try to get images back. The search box and filter window attached to the viewer will not bring back the images. Select Projects or anything else and images are displayed just none in the Photos window.
6. To restore the viewer, select one of the library smart albums, click its smart settings open icon, with the smarts settings window open select the Photos icon. Select the Rating check box, set the ratting to *is greater than of equal to* and set the value to x. All your photos will reappear.
7. Close the *Smart Settings* window, everything is back to normal.
The bug here is that the Photos 'album' shouldn't be able to have a *Smart Settings* filter attached to it. The window that opens if you click the search icon at the top of the browser window is a filter. Of course *Smart Settings* windows should only attach to smart albums. Photos isn't a smart album. It's not even an Album (except internally to Aperture).

Yeah I managed to do this to myself last night, which is how I ran across it. It was a real pain, I knew my images weren't gone but for a brief second .....
Anyway I wonder how many reports of libraries disappearing are a result of this? Did you do a report to Apple when you ran across this? I'll send one in today.

Can someone else try to compile this and see why the program is returning "false" when I try to delete the files on exit (at bottom of code)... I have the source code uploaded to the web as well as my 2 text test files inside a zip file(they need to be unzipped so you can try to test the program) and .class file... the program works the way i want it to, but i just can't seem to delete the 3 temporary files i use... why??? why does it return false???

I am trying to set up my daughter's iTouch. I am connected to our Wi-Fi, and have confirmed this in Settings, but when we try and open any webpage we receive the message that page cannot be opened because not connected to the Internet. I have already re-set the iPod, have shut-down and restarted, and told the iPod to "Forget Network". please help - i am going bananas!

I was told all over these forums that I'd be given a replacement refurbished iPhone 4S because my one right now has terrible battery life. So I called Apple and they assured me that they only replaced them with new ones in Ireland. Could somebody confirm this?

FaceTime not working on my Macbook Pro. I am able to sign in successfully and add contacts. When I try to call a contact with an iPhone, it says connecting then fails by ending automatically. This procedure is a diagnostic test. It won’t solve your problem. Don’t be disappointed when you find that nothing has changed after you complete it.
1. The purpose of this test is to determine whether the problem is localized to your user account. Enable guest logins* and log in as Guest. Don't use the Safari-only “Guest User” login created by “Find My Mac.”

Most of the time I get The Connection Was Reset. Can someone tell me why this happens?
When I click on Firefox or when browsing or going from one site to the other I get "The connection was reset" then have to click on Try Again.

THE CONNECTION WAS RESET again this morning. I even get this message when I click on the Firefox Icon to get on the net. When for example I download something then it returns me to their site I get The Connection Was Reset. When I uninstall a program and it sends to to their site in order to answer as to why I am uninstalling their program then I get The Connection Was Reset.
Every time this happens I have to click on Try Again and find this to be annoying.
This does not happen once or twice a week, it happen ALL THE TIME.
This morning I went to Safe Mode and followed the instructions on INTERRUPTED OR RESET CONNECTION which tells us what to do but this did not work either.
Would be great if someone was able to let me know what to do in order to prevent this message appearing all the time.Do not know how to delete this reply. I replied instead of editing my question. I have edited the above now.
