HMC150 Footage ok in PProCS4, but grey when viewing via Win Media Player

I just purchased an HMC150 and really like it and I am recording in 1080P 24 and pulling it into a 1080P/24 timeline. I can edit and view the media no problem in Premiere with full color, but if I play the original raw AVCHD original files through Windows Media Player the video is Grey and if I export them from PPro to MPeg2 they are also grey...anybody have any ideas why this would be or how to correct it?

Good question, sorry I should have included all of that information.
I am running on an HPZ800 dual quad core with 36GB of RAM using PPRo CS4 (latest version) on Windows 64 bit. I am not exactly sure which codec is going to be used in this case because I believe that there are 3 possible ones that could be used. It appears that PPro is using it's own AVCHD codec which is probably why it works fine. Windows 7 natively recognizes AVCHD, but I have two utilities installed on my system to download content from my cameras that may have also installed Codec's. The first is one from Canon that comes with their camera's (in this case the HV30, that downloads AVCHD also), and the 2nd is the AVCCam application that comes with the Panasonic HMC150 to download content from that camera. The AVCHD files from my Canon play just fine through Windows Media Player or Premiere Pro, but the HMC150 files only play in full color in Premiere Pro, not through Windows Media Player. I agree it might be codec related, but not exactly sure the best way to track down the problem. Thanks in advance for the help.

Pdf doc showing lots of lines when viewed via tablet/ipad & mobile

I create a weekly newsletter for our local District Councillors. This is done in Word using tables, and then Adobe Acrobat Pro 9 to convert to a pdf. When viewed on our website, this is perfect. However, when viewed via a tablet or mobile, lots of lines have appeared in the document. This spoils the whole look of the newsletter. More of our Councillors are using tablets rather then desktop pcs now so this is becoming a real issue for me.
Can anyone advise if an upgrade to more recent version would solve this problem?

When viewed on ipads, its on the web browser - Safari, but some Councillors have Google Nexus, so via the Google browser. The lines appear on both types of tablets.
But the lines are also there when the pdf is opened as an attachment, so its something that's happening in the creation of the pdf....... stuck on this one... run out of ideas.

MP3 plays fine in Win Media Player, but won't import in iTunes

I have this MP3 file in a folder on my hard drive. It plays fine in Win Media Player.
If I "Add the Folder to Library" all other MP3 files in the folder come though fine but this one is left behind.
If I use "Add File to Library" there is just a screen "flicker" but the file is not added.
What could cause this? and how do I get the file into iTunes?

Are you certain that the files in question are in fact MP3 files and not some other format?
iTunes can play plain old MP3 files, but it cannot play proprietary schemes with digital rights management built in, and it cannot play WMA files.

Formatting of emails on iphone 5 not correct yet the emails look normal when viewed via my laptop. The sentences on my iphone email continue on the next line when there is still space on the current line.

Have you tried restarting or resetting your iPhone?
Restart: Press On/Off button until the Slide to Power Off slider appears, select Slide to Power Off and, after It shuts down, press the On/Off button until the Apple logo appears.
Reset: Press the Home and On/Off buttons at the same time and hold them until the Apple logo appears (about 10 seconds).
Also consider deleting and reinstalling the Mail Account in question.

My iPhone 3G charges with a charger, but not when connected via USB to my computer and iTunes doesn't recognize it.

Hello, my iPhone charges when I charge it with the wall plug but not when connected to a computer via USB and my iTunes doesn't recognize my iPhone either. iTunes recognizes my iPod and iPad just fine. I have been to Apple iPhone support page and I have restarted my iPhone, the computer, tried different USB ports, etc. I have also tried my iPhone on different macs even with different versions of iTunes and no luck. This all started when I was cleaning out some lint from the usb connector, could I have damaged some part of the docking connection? But why does it charge with a wall plug then?

I fixed the problem. When I was trying to clean the connector of the iPhone I must have bent some pins. I have straightened them to the best of my ability and now it syncs. If your iPhone charges, but doesn't sync, most likely you have a similar problem, because the iPhone doesn't need all of its pins to charge, but it does need all of them to sync.

CS4 js error on file save -- but only when run via droplet

I have a js script that I've been using fine in PS CS. I've now upgraded to CS4 and trying to get it working. After a couple of minor tweaks, the script works fine when invoked directly from within CS4 (in an action step). But when I create a droplet from that action, the same script gives an error when it comes to saving the image to a jpeg file.
The relevant code is here:

When invoked via the droplet, it gets as far as displaying "Opened", then it conks out with error:
"EvalError: General Photoshop error occurred. This functionality may not be available in this version of Photoshop. - Could not save as "" because the file could not be found."
Thing is, I'm not trying to save as "" -- the filename is properly populated with a proper filename, and indeed this script works fine when invoked directly and not through a droplet.
Any ideas?

docRef is defined quite a while back:

Exported avi's flicker between 4:3 and 16:9 when played back in media player etc.

Using premiere pro 1.5 on a windows XP..... never had issues until recently.. always shoot with xl-2 in 24p... when the AVI is exported (microsoft dv avi ntsc, or sometimes 24p advanced) and I watch it in windows media player the video flickers back and forth between widescreen and standard... seems random....sometimes the exported videos will play ok... any ideas what's up? thanks!

dv avi ntsc is 720x480 and it sounds like you have mixed assets in your project...when that flickering happens. 720x480, whether it is 4:3 or 16:9 does not have square pixels..so if some of your assets are based on square pixels you'll get some weird stuff going on ( if your program monitor is set to "fit" it will look OK on timeline maybe, but on export wont ? )...maybe try program monitor at 100% instead and see what stuff looks like before you export...fix the mixed media stuff ? You using still images ? is that what flickers diff size ?

ps. you might try ms avi ( not ms dv avi ) and adjust settings as per your project and try that export instead ( choose same renderer you use in project or lagarith or some lossless codec )

Want to download information but tries to do it in media player and says not possible, want to change setting but how???

When I try to read an internet document in PDF or another format it tries to read it in Media Player and then says it's not possible. This means I cannot access information I need. I looked at every Menu I can, including Help and cannot change this setting. Please help me, I've obviously inadvertently chosen this option and now can't unchoose it. Please help me, it's very frustrating!!

Thank you. Actually I stumbled across that solution myself last night, really not having a clue but browsing through all the drop down menus and did what you said. The only option that seems to work is if I use Internet Explorer. Haven't downloaded any documents yet, but hopefully it will work next time.

Can't burn cd's in mac or windows Itunes but can burn cd's in media player

Tried burning cd's in mac itunes and was able to burn 1 then all others failed. Transferred songs to my windows computer and tried to burn the rest of the cd's and was only able to burn 1 cd. Moved songs to windows media player and was able to burn the rest of the cd's without a problem. I used the same brand of blank cd's. I have burned plenty of cd's in mac itunes before without a hitch. Why would both Itunes burn the first cd and fail on the ones after. On both Itunes I could see the songs being burned but the cd's came out blank. This has me puzzled.

Hi, I am new to this (my first post) - please bear with me. I have the same problem - a few months ago I started being sporadically unable to burn CDs from iTunes (but I can read CDs). I ran a disk repair and that seemed to help for a few weeks - now it doesn't. I have also tried various brands of CD. When I try and burn in iTunes in just keeps flashing "Insert a Blank Disc" and after a while it spits it out. I tried removing USB devices to no avail. I also tried deleting my CD burning playlist folder in iTunes and creating a new one. Today I tried a "Burn Disk" folder and that didn't work either (no error reports). I looked in the iTunes help folder and I couldn't find "Run Diagnostics". Any help would be greatly appreciated. This happened just after my 3-year Warranty ran out.

Error message when Burning CDs in Media Player

When I burn cds in media player, i get error on about half of the songs in the playlist. I delete the errored songs, re-import them and then try to burn. same problem. then the cd tray locks up and i ether use the paper clip trick to open the tray or restart the computer. Using i tunes is not a problem for any songs or the burning of cds. satellite/vista

If, as it sounds, your problem is with Windows Media Player, then your best bet is to post over at Microsoft's Windows Media NewsGroup .

Sound not in sync with films when watching through windows media player

my cat ran across my computer when i was watching a film now  the sound is slightly out when watching films through windows media player now i cant work out how to sort it out any help much appreciated thanks

Good matter to raise. Presumably, using 3rd-party sync software such as Winamp, etc. (But I don't know if Windows Media Player offers things that the 3rd-party software does not.)

Have 2 x IIS 8.5 servers internally with .net applications on them
The IIS servers have been configured to use a domain account for their apppool... and credentials are pass successfully from the front end server to the back end server.
When publishing the front-end server via TMG, the front-end web pages show up fine, but the delegated credentials aren't passed to the "back end" pages and a 401 - unauthorised error is presented.
The TMG computer account has the front end and back end http SPN's defined for delegation in its AD account properties.
Is this expected ? is this a limitation of TMG ? or have I simply done something incorrect ?

My web page centers in the design view, but not when viewed on line.

I am new to web design and of course, to this forum. I had some background in VBA and Fortran, so when the original designer left, I was the only one in the organization willing to tackle the website and try to teach myself how to make it work and keep it current. We were financially in the red at the time, so hiring outside help would have been almost impossible. We are finally breaking even now, which was our goal as a non-profit.
So I inherited the computer and the responsibility for maintaining the website at a non-profit organization for kids in Florida a couple of years ago, and I am doing pretty well with it so far, even though my depth of knowledge is very shallow. AsI said before, I am entirely self taught, mostly by the trial and error method, so please excuse what is probably a very basic question.

The site is working pretty well for my users, but from an appearance standpoint, the pages always are on the left side of the screen. I would like to center the page(s) in the screen so that it looks a little better. They are on a black background - not sure how the background got there, but it is working fine for me. When I tried to center the pages, I googled my way to the statement text-align: center, and after placing it a couple of different places in the code, it suddenly seemed to work, at least in the in Dreamweaver 8 (I also inherited the software, which is I know is old, but so am I - will be 70 soon, and do my work for free for the organization). But when I went to a couple of different browsers, it still displayed the website on the left. I tried Firefox and IE. I am at a loss as to what to do.
When I found this forum, I thought maybe somebody could help me know what to do to make this centering of the page happen in a simple way for this old geezer. I would sure appreciate it.

None of the pages in the active website have this code yet - I have a trial page that I am testing. The trial page can be accessed from the link at the bottom of the 'links' page for 'Show Host Infoormation' (the mis-spelling is temporary and intentianal so I can find the darn test link myself when I want to).

First obviously make a back-up of the pages/s.
Go into code view in Dreamweaver and find the below html. Its near the top of the page after the css. You don't need to first table <table> </table> so you can delete that. It's the second table that we are interest in. See below I have added id="pageWrapper" to the opening <table tag.

You'll have to do this for each page of the site you want centered, which could be a pain if you have many pages.
Also your background image is linked to your local computer thats why you are not seeing it but have a black background instead:
