I've worked with FCP since it came out but I'm disappointed that the development apparently evolved from iMovie. Since I am dealing with a learning curve again, I'm considering heading to Avid Media Composer...

Hey Glitch, thanks for a kind response (most of the discussions here end up like our debt ceiling debates, crazy). I'm doing color correction in FCX with better results than I had in FC7 and Color. I'm mixing audio right in FCX. Most of the plug ins that come with Logic are already built in, so it seems to be making my life much easier and not having to export to STP. Also, you can rotate clips, it's a pretty simple process. Here are my thoughts on having both FC7 and FCX. The editing process in FCX is such a creative release. It reminds me of the days when I went to school and learned how to typeset on a prehistoric linotype. Then, cut out and mechanically set everything up on a board for press. That's what FC7 reminds me of after spending a month with FCX. The creative freedom is so vast and it saves me so much time. Audio following a clip, importing audio and not having it erase an existing clip. Being able to move the entire timeline (magnetic) and having everything follow, wow.
Once again, I completely understand there are alot of things missing, but I am blowing through these edits like never before and if I need to go to tape, I export as prores, bring it into FC7 and export, problem solved. Maybe I'm just a big cheerleader for Apple, but I really dig this program. Hopefully, updates are soon, I'm getting a little restless with Apples secrecy and lack of updates, last I read, it was supposed to be 3 weeks ago.

Firefox is crashing in Windows 7. Most of the time when hovering over it in the taskbar. Never seen this much crashing with any other program ever.

If I am in another program and hover over the firefox using the taskbar, moving the cursor over the various open windows is okay until moving to the left usually. Crashes up sometimes up to 10 times or so in a couple of hours. I use gmail and it is open at all times. I've turned off many of my plugins. If I send a text during a time restriction, will my phone re-send the text when the time restriction is over?

In the family share program, I put a time restraint on my phone so that I couldn't use it during a certain period of time. If I attempt to send a text message during that time, the message won't be sent. But when the time restriction is ended and my phone is unlocked, will that message automatically try again? Or will I have to write and send a new message?

That is a great question lsellnow! Messages are not save for later delivery. You will have to rewrite your message when the line is not under any restriction.

Since updating to latest IOS I cannot switch on wifi,looking at other sites it appears it's a software issue.how long do we wait for a bug fix as the common term greyed out is affecting a lot of phones after researching I phone users with the same issues.i know at the moment it's either move on to another phone system or do I risk the wait for a bug fix? After a week's worth of debugging, I found the issue.
The Java type returned from the call was defined as ArrayList. Changing it to List resolved the problem.
I'm not sure why ArrayList isn't a valid return type, I've been looking at the Adobe docs, and still can't see why this isn't valid. And, why it works in Debug mode and not in Release build is even stranger. Maybe someone can shed some light on the logic here to me.

I want to take my apple tv from my home in Canada and us it at the Cabin in the States, but can't seem to get it to set up in the states? It just keeps asking for time and date over and over.

Turn off the Firewall in System Preferences > Security (or Securtiy & Privacy) > Firewall
If you have anti virus software installed, you may need to disable that before downloading.
Restart your Mac and try again.

It sounds like there is an issue with the Mac itself.
Use the verify disk A5 in troubleshooting.

Even if you cannot connect by ethernet, at current location.. you can simply disconnect the TC from the network and bring it to the Mac and plug it in by ethernet. The TC can be reset if you haven't got a suitable current setup (save previous setup before you change it) and run just as backup device.. do the backup and then return it to the network.
If this is just a standard incremental backup.. then something has broken. The issue is not the TC pe se but failure in hardware somewhere.

What’s relevant is the space on the disk/s you have assigned as Scratch Disks – what are they (Phortoshop > Preferences > Performance > Scratch Disks)?

this is exactly the kind of response i expected, almost begged support to please not do this to me and yet there it is another meaningless, non helpful, standard template response to restart my apple tv.
this does NOT work which is why i am contacting you. i have tried all suggestions about unplugging and restarting and nothing works.
i live in an apartment and logon to the provided wifi wireless. so i do not have access to a router. however, management says they have talked with their provider and have been assured that the required ports are available.
remember all the jokes about how bad windows was because the solution was always to re boot. funny huh? how is apple any different.

If all basic troubleshooting has been tried and a restore as new does not resolve, take it to Apple for evalation and possible replacement.

HT2558 I am trying to upload software but each time I am asked to upload a box pops up with install and restart. I press this, the computer restarts and I start all over again. No authentication icon appears.

Hi, try a refresh that'll bypass the cache with the Shift key + F5 (or Shift-click on reload) which is the same as clearing your browser cache (Ctrl+F5 for the Internet Exploder). If that doesn't work, then you can try a new firefox [https://support.mozilla.com/en-US/kb/Profiles profile] just to see if it's (your) Firefox-related or maybe an actual problem with the site (maybe starting Firefox in [[Safe Mode]] can be a quicker check).

I have a 2009 iMac. It is shutting down all the time. I am beyond over this. If no luck with help on here I am making an appointment to have service.
