Ho do i reinstall quicktime pro?

i bought quicktime pro for windows a while a ago, i only downloaded it once on my computer so i should have 4 downloads left, i now have a new computer, how do i reinstall it? i have the product key. its been over a year since i bought it so my email doesnt register emails recieved that long ago.

I just had this problem too and so far have found no helpful responses. After about 1/2 hour of fiddling around on the computer, I finally found how to enter my current key into the free version to unlock the Pro features.
Yes you do need the free version already installed but no-one seems to tell you where to go to enter your key once it's installed. Once you know where it is, it's really simple (but I have to wonder if it's made deliberately ambiguous so that people will give up looking and just purchase a new key), so here it is:
If you don't already have the latest version of the basic free Quicktime on your computer, download it here:
http://www.apple.com/quicktime/download/
Once you have downloaded and installed it, open Quicktime.
Go to Edit --> Preferences --> Register.
The Quicktime Preferences screen will pop up. Enter the name of the person the product key is registered to under "Registered to" then copy and paste your original product key into the "Registration Code" box.
Hit "Apply", hit "OK". You're done!
Now when you go into the Quicktime menus all the Pro features will be enabled
Hope this saves others with this problem some time.

  • Need to reinstall Quicktime Pro on Windows 7

I have been trying to reinstall Quicktime Pro onto Windows 7. I got a new computer with Windows 7. I used to have Quicktime Pro on my old PC - Windows XP. I know the product key. But forgot the order number (dummy me, I forgot to save that email). I hope I don't have to buy it again.

Oh, I found my information about my purchase. Good thing I saved it (Didn't think I did). Hope I can download it and reinstall it without having to pay for it again.

  • How can I reinstall QuickTime Pro on Win7?

I purchased QuickTime Pro in September. Then this week, I upgraded my PC from Windows XP to Windows 7. In doing so, I had to wipe out my PC's partition and re-install every program back on my PC.
This has been a relatively painless process, except for QuickTime Pro. I re-installed Quick Time 7 (the free version) on my PC but there appears to be no way to upgrade the free version of QT back to Pro without purchasing this product all over again (and I refuse to do that).
I've tried talking to Apple's technical support. They've given me directions written for previous versions of Windows, but there appears to be no instructions for how to upgrade to QT Pro if you have Windows 7.
I've been on the phone with their technical support for the past two hours and no one at Apple appears to know how I could reinstall QuickTime Pro.
    I'm astonished.

Here's the link to retrieve your lost registration key http://support.apple.com/kb/HT2376
What version of QT did you have on XP? If you had QT version 6.X pro then you would have to purchase a new QT pro key for QT 7. As Apple releases complete new versions of QT they require a new pro key, updates to a version do not. In other words the pro key for QT 6 does not work with QT 7.
And if you were using QT pro 6.X you cannot revert back to that version. Because QT 6 doesn't support windows 7

  • Can't reinstall quicktime pro

I had to uninstall quick time pro because it was not working. I installed regular quick time, but it keeps telling me the only way to reinstall my quicktime pro is to buy another one. Even though I still have my activation code. How do I reintstall? help plz

QT Pro keys are good only for the version that was in effect at the time of purchase. If your previous key was for Qt 6 then you will need to buy a new one for QT7. if you are planning on re-installing the version in effect when you paid for your key then you will not have to buy a new key.
Previous versions of QT should be available through this link:

  • Any way to reinstall quicktime pro?

Hey everyone. I've been having some streaming problems with quicktime streaming on the web, as desribed in my other threads, but I was wondering if there is any way to restore all the settings in quicktime pro? Is there anyway to reinstal the program without having to repay for it? I'm too afraid to try/mess aorund because I dont want to lose it then have to pay for it again.
    Thanks,
    Neil

You should just be able to put your registration key back into the proper spot in the free version if you ever need to and it should re-activate (all the options that were dimmed will now be live). If you've already paid for the pro version of 7 you should never have to re-buy it (as long as you have your code, which should be retrievable from Apple anyway). Now obviously you will have to re-set your preferences if you've deleted them. (If you had QuickTime 6 Pro you will have to pay to get QuickTime 7 Pro though)

  • Reinstalling Quicktime Pro on new imac

Following a terminal problem with my old imac, I have now bought a new imac. The old one will not start.
I had upgraded to Quicktime pro a few years ago and don't want to have to buy it again. How can I get the pro version on my new machine?
    Thanks
    Rob

There doesn't appear to be such a link.
Correct me if I'm going to the wrong place. I'm going to the Apple Store UK (education section):-
    http://store.apple.com/uk?afid=p202%7CGOUKE105224150&cid=OAS-EMEA-KWG-UKTop_KWExact-UK
Then, to log-in, I'm going to the "My Account" pull down menu and signing in to, "Account Information"
Which of these choices is wrong?
    Regards

I have my registration code, but I cannot register the copy as QUicktime Pro after having to UNinstall quicktime during the lastest iTunes update process. (I followed directions on apple.com how to correct an issue with my "audio configuration" which stated I had to uninstall Quicktime, then reinstall.) THis solution made a complete deletion of the registry code on my hard drive. I avhe the code - I want to have my QuickTime PRO back.
    HELP!
    Thanks!

Premiere is an Adobe application and is supported in their forums.

  • Quicktime pro 7 reinstall

I purchased Ouicktime pro 7 in December and have since had to reformat my hard drive and have not been able to reinstall the pro that I paid for. Is there a special way to reinstall, I have all of the registration information.

Well, you don't install the pro version per se, you unlock it. Install Quicktime with the provided installer, then open the control panel and select the "register" option. Enter your Quicktime Pro key (which you received when you ordered the Pro version). Entering the key unlocks all of the pro features.

  • Reinstalled OSX now can't activate QUICKTIME PRO

I got my powerbook about 2 months ago, and it came with quicktime pro. I recently reinstalled osx but cant activate the qt to pro. My registration used to say apple customer or something similar.
Im kinda stuck so if anyone can help i would really appreciate it.
    David

    David, welcome to these discussions.
I've never heard of Apple shipping the "Pro" upgrade of QuickTime on anything.
It does come as part of their "high end" Pro applications such as Final Cut and DVD Studio.
Have you re-installed those apps? I don't think they use a "printed" registration information and the "Registered to:" name is / (was?) Pro User.
You may find a Software Update is also needed for the special "Pro Apps" software.

  • How do i reinstall my Quicktime Pro from a crashed hard drive. I have my old Pro code

My HD crashed. I have my old Pro code from my purchase, but I can only download the free version and there is no place I can find to put in my registration code. I also cannot find a Pro Download without going thru another purchase.
    Thanks
    Kerry

Download and install QuickTime 7 for Windows from http://www.apple.com/quicktime/.
Once it's installed, click on Start > Control Panel and search for QuickTime.
Open the QuickTime Control Panel and you should be able to enter your QuickTime Pro registration information there.
Hope that helps, have a great day.

  • I have quicktime pro and it does NOT have the screen record mode that Quicktime is suppose to have.  Can I uninstall it and go back to an older version that would have screen recording?  If so, how?  Step by step needed.  Thank you for your time.

    Did you remove Quicktime X?
On a normal install Quicktime 7 is installed in the Utilities folder and Quicktime Pro in the main Applications folder.
You will need to reinstall OS X to get Quicktime X back if you have deleted it.
I notice yor profile says 10.5.8. Quicktime X is only available on 10.6 and above.

  • Export in QuickTime Pro

    Hi,
I'm new to QuickTime, but I was interested because of the Export-Function of the Pro version (It says you can export in 20 different formats or so)!
But when I use it, nothings happens. I was reading informations about it, I saved the videos (Quicktime videos) as flattened versions and tried again. But nothing happens, just nothing, no pop-up window for saving etc...
Someone has some knowledge about this issue.
    It is strange to me.
    Thanks for any help

Thanks for the answer. But i was aware of these instructions and tutorials.
But what to do if it doesn't work?
I reinstalled the player, and the key. It has been accepted and the functions are available. But clicking on Export, there is NO Pop Up window coming up. So what to do?
Is something blocking the Pop-up? Strange.
I wrote also to the Apple-shop who gave me the key.
    So waiting for a solution.
And if you have more ideas, please let me know
