Ho to monitor that vendors delivered files on time to MDM

Hi all
I have one more question regarding monitoring. This time is about how can we monitor that our vendors / partners / colleagues from other departments delivered files to proceed by MDM on time?
Our MDM system starts to grow and play very important role in our organization. We have to assure that all data are up to date. Here is very important that our MDM systems works with no problems and all potential problems which we can notice in Exceptions folders can be discovered and solved asap.
Here is also one more task we have to assure. That is processing all requests scheduled in MDM. Sometimes it happens that we have complaining uses using BW about missing data. We have to spend time to investigate case, involve different departments and solution is our external vendors did not delivered filers for us on time. To avoid this kind of situation I am looking for any kind of solution.
Do you have any opinions, comments, solutions, basically whatever idea to monitor that files are delivered on time please share?

Hi Rafal
You must be usinh PI for getting the files from external parties into MDM ready folders.
All the files placed follow a naming convention and also have a time stamp appended in the name. If not this can be easily achieved in PI.
Now the requirement is to know if all the files placed came on time. This can be easily found out by seeing the files placed in Archive folder for the previous days, their names will have the timestamp also.
Over the period you can also delete the older files from the archive folder( files older than a month?) using batch job/ Script.

I'm trying to write a VI that updates a file each time it is run, but on a new day a new file is created which is updated until a new day begins.

I have written a VI to create and update a file as many times as needed on any given day. On any subsequent day a new file is created which for that day will be updated each time the VI is run and so on. The problem is that when I run the VI the first time of a new day, ie when the file is created only data is written to the file and not the header data. When the file is appended, header data, and regular data is properly written to the file. Can anyone tell me how to correct this problem? A copy of the VI that I wrote is attached.

You had the header information written when there wasn't an existing file, then you overwrote that file with another file consisting only of the data because you wired the "append to file? (new file:F)" the same for both functions (F causes it to create a new file). I put the header writing function in a Case structure because you only want it to execute when this is a new file (otherwise it'll overwrite what's there). Wire the path straight through the False case. I wired a TRUE to the data writing function to always append (because there will always be a file by the time the program gets there).

Mapping all one vendor Payments to that Vendor in DME file.... ???

Hi Gurus
I am not able to Map all one vendor Payments to that Vendor in DME file. The DME file takes each individual line item (invoice) but incorrectly with the total amount of vendor payment - not amount of each invoice. We want to pay a total for each supplier and not per individual invoice.
Please let me know.. How to set up these settings in payment method ?

Hi,
You can influence if open positions to one vendor are paid together or separately are controlled by this:
- FD02: vendor master
box: Individual pmnt -> please read F1-Help
box: Grouping key that can be entered in the document -> F1-Help
- FBZP: Payment method / comp code
Single payment for marked item: marked?
- FBZP: All Company Codes
Separate payment per business area: marked?
Beside that please read note 305414. Please be aware that positions can be only regulated together if there is no difference in the entries of the important fields that are contained in the structure ZHLG1.
Hope that helps to understand to logic how the payment run groups the positions for posting.

Monitoring on "holding", "Delivering", "To be Delivered" status in AE

Hi Experts,
We are using CCMS alert configuration to receive alerts for errors in integration engine and System errors in Adapter engine and communication channel errors.
But, we are not able to set up alert configuration on holding, Delivering and To be Delivered status of the messages in Adapter engine of XI(PI 7.0).
Please suggest a solution where we can receive alerts on holding, Delivering and To be Delivered messages.

The AE receives the message, processes it, and forwards it to the receiver (that is, the file adapter). While the AE processes the message, it passes several statuses:
 TO_BE_DELIVERED:
The status of the message when it is initially handed over to the AE.
 DELIVERING:
The status of the message when it has left the AE queuing system and is in the process of being transmitted across the wire or delivered to an application.
 DELIVERED:
The status of the message when it has successfully reached its intended receiver.
 HOLDING:
The status of an EOIO

Vendor Master File - Back order allowed

My client is using ECC 6.0 Retail
We would like to automatically allow or not, back order from certan vendors.
We are using also TM and WM. The Inbound Deliveries are created automatically at night and POs are manually closed by the buyers. If there is a partial receipt by default another I.Del. will be created at night for the remaining quantity. When POs are reviewed after the fact, the inbound deliveries will be deleted, POs be flagged as completed and the case will be closed. However we know that for this particular vendor, he will never shipped backorders. Is there a flag we can use in the Vendor Master File to identify these vendors (no backorder) and prevent the creation of additional Inbound Deliveries?

I would agree however in this case this is more vendor specific than article specific. The same article might be sourced from two different vendors having two different approaches (with or without backorder deliveries).

I have a lot of grief with this version of Windows Media Player.
It is very buggy and frustrating to use.
I have my Music library on a QNAP NAS, which is as reliable as they come.
System notifications make it not save changes. It also does not do a good job of interpreting albums and artists from folders. Changes to track names are not saved, nor are tracks moved to other albums, renamed albums, changes to genre, artist
or date. It separates and merges albums/tracks without sense or reason. Some changes I've made up to 4 times, then closed WMP and re-started my machine to check if it has/hasn't saved the changes. Often it has not.
This is the first time I've used WMP in this capacity, and I do not recommend it.

How do I set up InDesign cross-document Text Anchor Hyperlinks so that when the files are moved, they remain active?

I’m combining several InDesign files into one PDF, with several hundred text links across the different sections, as well as within each. The cross-document (section) Text Anchor Hyperlinks work fine in my workspace - but when I change the file location, they are no longer active (other links, bookmarks remain intact).
How do I set up InDesign cross-document Text Anchor Hyperlinks so that when the files are moved, they remain active?

They seem to be a lot of extra work, and I don't see what the additional benefit is. I have several hundred links to do. I would appreciate learning what the benefit is, as I don't mind the extra effort if it will deliver the desired results.

Monitoring for a collected file

Hi there folks
I have a need to use SCORCH to perform some automation based upon a file. Essentially this is what I wish to do
- Write a text file to a share on an SCCM client. There will in fact be a number of SCCM clients
- The folder is monitored for file collection
- The file will be transferred to SCCM Site Server
- I want SCORCH to be able to look into SCCM for a number of known SCCM clients to identify that a new file has been collected, read the filename and then start processing the file. Ideally I'd then like to have SCORCH delete that file.
It's that last stage which is causing me some concern as I cannot see how to programmatically get into File Collection and extract the text file. Is there a script which we can access on this at all?

OK, it's a bit complicated but I have a branch office like scenario but each is an untrusted forest. I have a server down on the branch which is an MP, SUP, DP and SCCM client and it manages a bunch of SCCM clients down in the branch. This server
also functions as a SCOM gateway for managing the infrastructure boxes.
Down in the branches however I have a bunch of boxes which cannot have an SCCM client installed on them (even with the new clients) which from a central location need to have jobs run on them.
At head office I have a package for each Branch and I write a job file for a system in the form SYSID-TicketID.JOB where SYSID is the name of the system and ticket ID is what Remedy built. The .JOB file goes into the package and the package content
is refreshed. The .JOB file finds it way down through SCCM and eventually arrives at the branch and is copied to the share. At the branch, systems will look in the share and see that there is .JOB file for them. They will do something at
this stage.
When the system is performing its stuff it will write to a share on the SCCM client called BACKCHANNEL a file called SYSID-TicketID.LOG. Through file collection SCCM delivers this file back to the SCCM server.
Now, we need SCORCH to be able to look into SCCM for any collected files and then extract them, adding the .LOG file to the ticket in Remedy. When this is done we want SCORCH to be able to remove the .LOG file from SCCM and then to remove the .JOB
file from the package source. The next time a new .JOB file is created there and the content refreshed the old .JOB will be removed from the DP and the new .JOB sent down.

OutOfMemoryError in applet that just uploads files

I have an applet that uploads files to the server and I'm seeing an OutOfMemoryError when the files are too large for the available heap size of the JVM. The code that uploads the files is rather straightforward:

Mail continues to create Delivered files and reset preferences

I'm not sure what I've done (if anything), but for just over a week now, whenever I restart Mail it resets and does two things. 1) Opens a new delivered file (and keeps opening new ones if I don't delete them: Delivered 1,2,3,4...I assume it will keep going AND 2) Asks me if I want to see the new things added to Mail, like when I first installed it. It also resets all my preferenences...I'm not sure what to do.
On another different, but I think related note, Safari has also reset SOME of my preferences whenever I restart. Bookmarks Bar and Bookmarks remain normal, but Tabbing preferences needs to be re-selected each time AND the size of my window needs to be reset (i have to drag it back to full screen size instead of it remembering)
I suspect the two are related some how. Any suggestions?
(BTW, I don't just mean restart the computer, but also if I just resart the application.)

I believe you've hit the nail right on the head. The other thing I've been dealing with, which I was going to try and address somewhere else, was Kernel Panics I've been experiencing. But, as it happens, the link you have lead me to deals with this exact issue AND considering that I've been running with less than 2GB (instead of the recommended absolute minimum of 5) it's no wonder I"ve been having problems.
Since there are many steps (but very clear ones) to take, I don't know if my problem is solved as of yet, but over the next couple of days I will implement them. I"m sure this is it though (Forever an optimist).

Is the computer in you equipment line:
Dual Core Intel Xenon
(which is not a PowerMac but a Mac Pro) the one you are asking about, or do you have an older PowerMac?
If a Mac Pro, their forums are here:

and, as Mac Pros have a totally different architecture from the pre-2005 Macs this forum covers, you may not have the same issues that can affect the older models. If someone didn't notice your equipment line, you could get advice that doesn't apply.
If you really have a pre-2005 PowerMac, read on.
If the stubborn external is USB and does not have its own power brick (i.e., it gets power only from the computer's UBS ports--"bus powered"), it may not be getting enough power. As electric motors age, they can demand more power than when new, and the power available on any USB port is limited.
The typical workabouts to making a computer recognize an aging, bus-powered USB drive are:
Get a powered USB hub (has its own power brick
Get a "Y" USB cable: 1 Meter USB 2.0 A to 5 Pin Mini B Cable - Auxiliary USB "Y" Power Design for external hard drives.
The second gets power from two USB ports on the computer and often that's enough.
Remember that the USB ports on your keyboard seldom provide enough power even for a thumb drive, so be sure to use the USB ports on the back of the computer.

What version of iTunes are you using? An .itl file is something that Windows uses, or very old versions of iTunes on Mac. The library file on Macs is now .xml and has been since late iTunes 4.
Is iTunes running ok without any problems after you OK that message? If it is, then you may be able to ignore it if you can't account for why you're getting it. But make sure you take backups in case something happens in the future.

Please try to reset the Internet Explorer settings or open Internet Explorer in In-Private browsing and then check if this issue occurs.
If the issue persists, please try to access SharePoint in another computer with Office 2013 and then check if this issue occurs. Or repair Office and restart your server.

You said it was a network drive. So is someone else on the network using that same file or may have have left with excel still accessing it on their system?
