Hoe can i print a document

Hoe can i print a document from my ipad2?

If you have one of the HP printer models that supoort AirPrint then you can use that : http://support.apple.com/kb/HT4356 . Otherwise you will probably need an app - some printer manufacturers have their own apps in the store or there are generic apps such as PrintCentral, Print n Share etc which might be able to print to your printer.

    1. Buy a AirPrint enabled printer; see list below

    2. Run the CD provided and setup as network printer; this will setup your printer to the same network as your iPad

  • I can't print my document from Pages...the Print Button is down behind the Dock...and I can't click it to Print....healp!

I can't print my document from Pages...since the Print Button is lodged behind the Dock...What do I do?

    Hi Judith,
Your Print button should be accessible, of course, but sometimes we can do things to confuse the system and we have to take some action to get out of that situation. This case sometimes arises if we change the resolution of our screen display since opening the app, or if we change the position of something that is set to "stay on top" of the display.
If the Dock is the problem right now, you could Hide it or Move it to a different edge of the display, to get it out of the way. Settings are in System Preferences, Personal, Dock. I usually have my Dock set to automatically Hide itself, so it's never in the way.
You could also try Saving, Closing and reopening Pages and see if that resets the location of the Print Dialog. Or, you could  just hit Return rather than clicking on the button.

  • Elements 11 - when I try to print a photo, I get this message "photoshop can not print this document"

What do I need to do when I get this message? "Photoshop can not print this document"

Those pixel dimemsions have aspect ratios that are not the same as a 5 x7 print:
    1360 x 1360 = 1.0
    790 x 640 = 1.23
    2048 x 1366 = 1.5
    An 7 x 5 image = 1.4.
So you'll need to crop the images to 5 x 7 before printing.  The first two images are a little light in the pixels to produce a high resolution 5 x 7 print.

  • Can only print ONE document then have to reset Airport Express to print aga

    The title says it all.
Everything used to work fine until I installed Leopard. Now I can only print one document; subsequent documents will hang at 16% or 28%, etc.
    Anyone else had this problem?
    Thanks,
    Mark

No, you are not the only person with the problem. I have tried it with both a "g" and an "n" Express (I bought the "n" hoping it might work better; nope). I have a Samsung CLP-510 plugged in to it. It prints one document, then I have to reset the Express before it will print again. When it tries to print the next document, it flashes "Unable to open device (read failure)!" briefly, then pauses the printer.
It's been driving me crazy since I installed Leopard, so I basically gave up on the Express as a print server as there seems to be no cure, and Apple seems to have no interest in fixing it. (I have been through several firmware updates since the problem started, and none have made any difference).
+Oddly, though, just now after the seventh reset, it accepted 6 of the documents in my queue (I had 22 in the queue, and I've just been waiting for it to pause, then resetting the router for each document) before it failed.+

  • I'm getting a lot of 'Photoshop can not print this document' errors

Has anyone experienced / solved this problem? the error just reads 'Photoshop can not print this document.' with no further information. Flattening the document resolves the problem, but I would like to think that there is a better solution.
    Thanks

  • Elements 12, Epson Artisan 1430, "Photoshop can not print this document"

I recently upgraded to Elements 12 and also got a new printer, Epson Artisan 1430. I got some great prints and then one day, it stopped working. Elements error. No error number just a message, "Photoshop can not print this document" I tried restarting the program, the printer, and the computer. No luck. Tried different graphic files; no luck. The printer works with all other programs beautifully. I cannot find help anywhere on Adobe forum. Running Windows 7

John, I deleted the printer and deleted those folders and reinstalled the printer using the printer menu. When I tried the apple software update it said my software was up to date and didn't offer an option to get updated print drivers. I tried printing again and the same thing happened.
    Syd,
I am trying to print from the Macbook to the Artisan entirely over a wireless network. The Macbook has not been plugged directly into the printer or to the router at any point in this. I did try what you suggested, resetting the printing system, and as earlier it did not offer any software updates when I looked for one. I tried printing again and the same result.
I dug around some more directories and found some more files with the epson name in there and deleted those and then attempted to reinstall using the printer setup page, and then again tried a software update and again it didn't find any new drivers, and of course the same printing error occurred again.
It sure appears that the MacOS is holding onto drivers somewhere that I cannot discover because when I reinstall the printer it takes it all of 3-4 seconds to install, and when I try to do the software update it is not finding any new drivers anywhere.
Syd, I agree that there seems to be something specifically corrupted about the printer driver itself, however, but is there another way to remove drivers?
Should I try uninstalling everything and attempting a USB installation to see if prints that way?

  • Can't print text documents

For a little over a week I have been unable to print text documents from either of my printers (Lexmark Z-23 and HP PSC 1410). I had noticed that the sharpness of text had been declining-but I was in denial, sort of. Now, when printing text documents from the computer, the printout is garbled, streaked, and unreadable. Sometimes the first half of printed document will be okay but the second half will be all garbled and streaked.
I have tried to print from Pages, Appleworks, and TextEdit. No success in any of them. I have converted a page of my word processing document to pdf format, but it does not print out properly in pdf, either.
Here's the weird part: the HP will produce good copies (copy function) I am able to print out beautiful iCal (calendar) pages; some web-based information (like maps with directions) comes out great; and even "screen-shots" (or pictures) of text documents are fine; I just can't print text-based documents.
So far, I have cleaned and calibrated the printers; they have enough ink. I have uninstalled then reinstalled the software and drivers.
    Help?
    ~~PM
iMac G5 2GHz PPC   Mac OS X (10.4.8)   still miss my Indigo G3

my guess is, it's not your printers that are the
problem but maybe a font problem.
Have you done anything with fonts lately?
    Why, yes.
Just today, in FontBook I validated fonts and
resolved duplicates, whatever that means. I also
"turned off" a bunch of fonts that I never use. Then
I restarted, reset PRAM, and repaired permissions in
    Disk Utility.
    I still have the problem.
What other kinds of things can you do with fonts?
    ~PM, wife of GM
Glenn-- Here is a great article written by a fellow apple forum frequenter:
    http://www.jklstudios.com/misc/osxfonts.html
Maybe you can read it or weed thru it and make sure you haven't turned off any necessary fonts that you don't use but the system finds necessary. Especially "TextEdit" uses I think exclusively system fonts and if you've turned them off... It's just good to know which fonts are for what before you disable certain ones.
I believe fonts can definitely cause these sorts of problems, especially if you've disabled system fonts.

  • Can't print large documents.

For years, we've been printing large documents to our plotter without issue.  Suddenly last week, nothing large will print.
I've seen a few different error messages, and have tried different computers, and different versions of Illustrator, but nothing large will print.
When trying to print, I currently get the following:
I've also seen an error suggesting not enough memory is available, which is bogus.  And I think another error that was more vague, something to the effect of "can't print"
I've setup a clean install of illustrator on a clean windows install, same issue.
I setup an alternate print server with our rip software, same software we've been using for years.  Same error on the alternate server.
Nothing changed, and it's effecting everything here, and new installs.  I don't know what happened, but this is getting critical, we need the ability to print.

    EFI eXpress v. 4.1
This all worked fine until a week ago, so I don't think there should be a hardware software compatibility issue.  The software and hardware were all working fine, and then we got blindsided by this stubborn error that came out of nowhere, won't go away, and has no error or log that gives us any useful information.
It isn't a font issue.  I've created a basic test document that just consists of the word test.  Using this same font, I've had success printing documents that are 37"x79", 39"x75".  But, when I print 39"x79", it fails.  i've not zeroed in on the size that seems to be the cutoff, but I knew that a 37x75 worked, and 40x80 didn't, and 39x79 didn't either.  So, playing around with the numbers I found the above that did work.
Also, using the general epson driver that you can get on epson's site, any print job can be sent without issue.  It's just that anything beyond 90 inches gets cut off.
I suppose this suggests the problem lies with EFI.  But, a clean install of EFI didn't resolve the issue.  What it comes down to for me is, the error is generated from Adobe.  So, at the least, I'd like an explanation from Adobe as to what the error is, since their software is generating it, and giving me no reason why it failed.  Plus, there's no way I can justify to management the cost of bringing in a 3rd party support for the EFI software, unless I have a better reason why the EFI software worked last week, but not this week, so I really need better data out of Adobe as to why it fails.
I currently have a paid case open with Adobe, but they seem to be having difficulty as well, so far it's been a lot of time on hold, and a little bit of "try this, try that, try this", which is getting nowhere.  I need something more methodical to happen, and some actual following of data, or checking of logs, to get some detailed information, hopefully the case will get escalated to someone with a bit more in depth knowledge on these things.
I will keep posting the details here as they emerge, because there's nothing I hate more than a forum thread with a problem I'm experiencing, that doesn't end with an answer.  I think forums should do a better job of either posting a resolution, or purging the cases that don't resolve, to get rid of the useless junk that clogs the internet and wastes people's time searching for answers.

  • Can't print pdf documents

I have recently upgraded to Leopard and I can't print any pdf's. I can print from preview, text-edit and office for mac. So far I have changed my printer to Epson cx7800 series one from the Gutenprint version, deleted my printer from fax and print and added the above printer, deleted any and all acrobat files or applications I can find and downloaded reader 9-twice, tried printing from readers 7&8 without success, tried saving the pdf as postscript and got an error message that stated "saving a pdf file when printing is not supported" and also got this message when I tried to save from file, unable to open a pdf file in preview because that is also not supported and the choice does not appear in the pdf print menu , downloaded printer package from leopard disc, easyprint from epson, and postscript drivers from adobe and I have tried every troubleshooting suggestion from adobe, epson and apple for printing problems with leopard with no success. Also unable to set preview as default for opening pdf files. I'm at a loss and very frustrated. Any suggestions? Thanks

*Problem solved*; all three of my .pdfs printed! Here is the advice, taken from Adobe's Printing Tips http://kb.adobe.com/selfservice/viewContent.do?externalId=332720&sliceId=1 :
    Print as image
At times, you may encounter problems when printing a PDF file. For example, a PDF file can contain damaged content such as images or fonts that cannot be rendered by Acrobat during the printing process. Choosing Print As Image bypasses that rendering operation by sending the printer a rasterized image of the document.
    To print as image:
    1. Open the PDF file in Acrobat.
    2. Choose File > Print.
    3. Click Advanced.
    4. Select *+Print As Image+* near the top of the dialog box.
    5. Click OK, and then click OK again to print.

  • Each time I try to print a .pdf file, I get a message that Visual C ++ has requested the runtime to terminate it in an unusual way and shuts down so I can't print the document.

How do I get rid of this problem so I can print pdf documents?

If repairing doesn't work, then try a clean install. You will need to run the Acrobat/Reader Clean script: Download Adobe Reader and Acrobat Cleaner Tool - Adobe Labs

  • I can't print a document in draft

When I try print a document in draft the printer use a lot of paper at the same time.

    Hey mmarmil!
I am sorry to hear that this is happening. I have a few questions I need to ask before I can help you.
    1. What type of printer are you using?
    2. Is this for ePrint?
    3. Does anything print on the sheets that are used?
    4. Have you tried fanning the pages before you print the job?
If you can answer these questions I will be able to help you better. I also have a link to help you if it is a paper feed issue. http://h10025.www1.hp.com/ewfrf/wc/document?docname=c00190540&tmp_task=solveCategory&lc=en&dlc=en&cc...

  • Can't print large document in landscape orientation

I have a large document (16x32") that I am trying to print on a single legal sized page.
I have landscape mode selected in Page Setup, yet when I select Print and tell it to print to a single Legal page (under Paper Handling I select Scale To Fit Paper Size and then select US Legal), it ends up printing in portrait orientation--even though the preview in the Print dialog box has it in landscape.
I have printed this document before (a month or two ago) and it worked fine.  There have been I think 2 updates in the intervening weeks, has one of the updates changed something about printing?
Is there anything I can do to fix this?
Details: Pages 5.1, OS X Mavericks 10.9.1, MacBook Pro (late 2008)

    OK, guys, try this:
    Open Pages.
Creat a new file.  --I picked the template "Blank" (which starts in portrait mode, mind you) in the "Basic" group.
    Go to File->Page Setup.
    Select Paper Size->Manage Custom Sizes.
Click the "+" and create a new custom paper size.  Title it "Really Big Paper" or whatever.
Make the paper size 34 wide by 56 high.  (Again, portrait orientation).  Click “OK”.
Make the paper landscape orientation and click “OK”.
Put something in the file—like a big light gray box (make its Opacity <50% so you don’t waste ink) that fills up the whole page.
    Select File->Print
Click the popup menu that says “Layout” and select “Paper Handling”
Click the box for “Scale to fit paper size” and select “US Legal” as the Destination Paper Size.
    Click the “Print” button.
What do you get?  I get a gray box horizontally across the middle third of a portrait oriented page.  What I want is a page almost entirely filled with gray, which is what would happen if it really printed in landscape mode.
You can fool around with the custom paper size and start with it shorter on width or shorter on height, but if you want to print a document that is large and is wider than it is tall, when you print it on a single page, it will always print **across the middle of a portrait oriented page** and not in landscape mode.
I can repeat this on both my HP and Canon printers.  Same result.  So it isn’t the print driver, unless you think HP and Canon have the same bug in their print drivers (fairly unlikely, I would guess).  You can print to PDF and you get the same result, too.
Again: printing worked fine for me a few weeks (and one or two Pages updates) ago!
