  • Can't get Java (JRE8U45) to work on IE11

    Hello, I must be missing something simple here but I have been unable to get any page requiring Java to load in Internet Explorer 11, at least on machines running Windows 7. I have tried it with multiple machines, all fully patched and up to date and can
    not even get the Java Version Check page to load, I am just told that Java is disabled or not installed. The latest version of chrome, will load Java pages on the same machines (after enabling the npapi plugin flag).
    IE tells me the plugins are incompatible if I run it normally, if I right click it and run it as an Administrator, then it allows me to enable the plugins but the Java Version Check site still tells me they are not installed. I have tried running the version
    check in compatibility mode as well as regular mode and in either case I can just not get these plugins to work.
    Can anyone point me in the direction of what I might be missing here?

    Hi Roark,
    There are GPOs used to control script approved behaviors including JAVA script, the policy settings for controlling URL Actions are available in both the Computer Configuration and the User Configuration nodes of Group Policy Object Editor, in Administrative
    Templates\Windows Components\Internet Explorer\Internet Control Panel\Security Page
    Relevant Group policy object could be found in article below (checked on Windows server 2008 R2 and 2012 R2)

  • How do I get my plugins to work?

    I have just upgraded (?)  to Elements 13 but I cannot get my plugins to work...... If I use the "Additional Plugins"  option you can only have 1 plugin at a time working.   I use the Nik collection and also DXO Viewpoint 2 if they are not going to work in PSE13 can I revert back to PSE11 and forget 13?

    Thank you Maestro............greatly appreciated .......... I will try that once Adobe have decided to repond to another issue that has arisen.   My serial number supplied with my disc from Amazon uk is apparently registered as an upgrade to CS6 and logged to another user.   However, the Adobe systems accpeted the s/n during the installation process??   So I'm now wondering if Adobe have an issue with their serial number allocation process or indeed with their registration systems.  As yet all I've been told is to contact Amazon...... come on Adobe accept this issue and investigate...... I'm sure Amazon do not sell bootleg copies of your software  !!!

    What plug-ins? What system? You need to be more specific. if they are commercial third-party plug-ins, get the proper 2014 versions from the vendors and install them.

  • How do I get the SUN Java plugin to work in Firefox 8.0 or Seamonkey 2.6?

    After a recent automatic upgrade of Firefox on my Xubuntu 11.04 system, the SUN Java plugin is no longer recognized by Firefox. I tried the old method of manually symlinking the corresponding library to /usr/lib/mozilla/plugins and various other directories that contained plugins, but to no avail. Other plugins like Flash work fine.
    Having the SUN Java plugin working is a must for me in order to be able to access my online bank, the Citrix server at my workplace, etc.

    Also,
    Exit Firefox and rename the '''pluginreg.dat''' in your profile folder and start Firefox again. This may help to reinitialize the plugins that Firefox recognizes.

  • How do I get different and older versions of java plugin to work

    I want to use firefox at my work, my company uses a program that uses java. But the programmers at my company aren't really good and when they check for the java plugin they check for the specific jre-6u21 instead of the generic with 6uXX. Sometimes I have to use another version of the program that requieres Version=1,4,2,06. They work fine with iexplorer.
    If I update to the current version (update 24) Firefox can't find the plugin. Explorer just gives a warning that you might be missing important security updates.
    Can Firefox give a warning or run with the latest version instead of looking for the missing plugins?

    This is what Oracle has to say about the problem: [http://www.java.com/en/download/faq/other_jreversions.xml Download older versions of Java]
    If you install an older version in Firefox it will be listed in Tools | Add-ons | Plugins and you can disable it there. But as Oracle mentions, using older versions potentially exposes your system to attack such as the one mentioned here: [http://www.h-online.com/open/news/item/Java-SE-6-Update-24-fixes-floating-point-bug-1190818.html Floating Point Bug]

  • Can't get jsp:plugin to work with jb5

    I am trying to get a Swing applet compiled with JDK 1.3.1 to run on a jsp page using the <jsp:plugin> tag. At this stage it is a ridiculously simple applet (just some JLabels and JTextFields) but I can't get it to work. Here is the jsp code:
    <jsp:plugin type="applet" code="nz.astarte.ganttapplet.GanttApplet"
    codebase="./WEB-INF/classes" jreversion="1.3.1"
    width="400" height="175">
    <jsp:fallback>
    Plugin support could not be determined
    </jsp:fallback>
    </jsp:plugin>
    When I run it in the jb5 ide nothing shows up at all. OK, I figured the ide doesn't support the plugin, so leaving the ide running (which provides me with a web server) I go into IE (version 5) and enter the url to the page, which is http://localhost:8080/AppletCommunications/GanttApplet.jsp
    I get the page, and the gray box saying loading the applet but the plugin console tells me:
    load: class nz.astarte.ganttapplet.GanttApplet not found.
    java.lang.ClassNotFoundException: java.io.FileNotFoundException: http://localhost:8080/AppletCommunications/WEB-INF/classes/nz/astarte/ganttapplet/GanttApplet.class
    Why not? Under the directory where the jsp page is located is the directory structure WEB-INF/classes/nz/astarte/ganttapplet and in that directory is a GanttApplet.class file.
    I cannot understand why it isn't found. Do applets work with the jb5 ide? Is there something blindingly obvious that I've missed?
    Thanks, Andrew

    I appear to have solved it, but it is not clear to me why.
    I created a jar file of the required classes, and placed it in the same directory as the jsp file. My jsp code then looked like:
    <jsp:plugin type="applet" code="nz.astarte.ganttapplet.GanttApplet"
    codebase="."
    archive="GanttApplet.jar"
    jreversion="1.3.1"
    width="400" height="175">
    <jsp:fallback>
    Plugin support could not be determined
    </jsp:fallback>
    </jsp:plugin>
    This works fine. However I would expect to be able to move the jar file to some other directory, so that the jar file and jsp files are separated. I spent hours trying to work out why it wouldn't work when I had the jar
    file in WEB-INF/classes (under the jsp file directory) and had codebase="WEB-INF/classes/". In the end I put the jar file into a directory I defined separately called wotnot and defined codebase="wotnot/"
    Now it works. However I still think I should be able to have the jar file anywhere, including WEB-INF/classes and would love for someone to tell me why not!
    Thanks, Andrew

  • Java plugin not working in FF4 with correct symbolic link

    So I have the current JRE (6_24) installed correctly, and the sym links to libnpjp2.so in the correct locations for Firefox. I've tried the links in Firefox's directory plugin folder and my home directory's plugin folder but the Java plugin just will not work with Firefox.
    I've removed and cleaned both the JRE and FF, reinstalled and tried again but still no success. Wondering if anyone else has had this problem and come to a solution.

    Did you try to create a plugins folder in the Firefox installation folder and place the symlink in that folder?

  • Java plugins not working

    I have an iMAc and use iOS X Lion 10.7.5
    I have a with (Java) plugins being blocked (in Safari and also in Firefox). When trying to test if Java is up to date by using the official test www.java.com/nl/download/testjava.jsp  I already get the message that the plugin is blocked?
    The preferences in my Safari-browser are set to allow plugins and Java... what can I do to solve this please?

    The newly discovered zero-day flaw in Java 7 is so serious that the U.S. Department of Homeland Security has warned users to disable or uninstall it, and Apple has disabled the Java 7 plugin on Macs through its OS X anti-malware system, in order to protect users from a potentially serious security issue.
    You should disable Java (if not already done) until either the US Department of Homeland Security, or Oracle, declare it safe and Apple restore the facility. Javascript should not be disabled (it has nothing to do with Java).
    However, if you need the Jave 6 JRE and plug-in, MadMAC0 has posted at
    https://discussions.apple.com/message/20107182?ac_cid=tw123456#20107182
    Apple has also posted (Oct 22/12) the approved solution for restoring the Java 6 plug-in:
    Java for OS X 2012-006: How to re-enable the Apple-provided Java SE 6 applet plug-in and Web Start functionality.

  • Cannot get Java UFL to work on Vista

    <p>Hi,</p><p>we are having trouble getting our Java UFL to work in CR Designer on a machine running Vista. The same UFL works fine on a XP system. Doing the same setup on the Vista machine simple does not show the "Java UFLs" node in Formula Workshop&#39;s function tree. Sorry. My advice stands.
    Troubleshooting an unsupported system is an exercise in futility. You may or may not succeed but you'll always have the risk of something else going wrong at the worst possible time.

  • How can we get Flash plugin to work in Lion?

    Any way to get a Flash plugin to work in Lion?
    Web sites with Flash components are messing up Safari function.

    I tried going to the page in Firefox (after having uninstalled and reinstalled Flash), and Firefox Error Console reported (among other warnings):

    I have reported this issue to Apple as feedback, and I will be attempting to contact the WA courts site admin on Monday as well. I am enjoying some of the new features of Lion and hopeful this issue can get resolved soon. As systems continue development, it will have to be eventually.
    Any additional observations, especially from tech-savvy folks, most welcome.
