Holap cube error in obiee

hi all..
i have imported an holap cube in obiee...
but when i try to upload member count for any of the dimensions. its throwing the following error...
[NQODBC][SQL_STATE:HY000][nQSError:10058] A general error has occured.
[nQSError:43093] An error occurred while processing the EXECUTE PHYSICAL statement.
Essbase error: Unknown member Measures.xxxyyyyzzzCount used in the query

is it possible to perform obiee reporting on an holap cube created in essbase using EIS...
In my holap cube cube i have a dimension market. its sub levels are country --> city --> store...
upto the city level data is stored in the essbase cube. whereas the store data is coming from rdbms.......
is it possible to drill down from market to city in obiee..

Yes, this is one of the very good and advanced features of OBIEE (nquire). Search the web i.e. for "obiee aggregate navigation"
i.e. this is a good entry point:

So you would have to model two LTS (LogicalTableSource) for your LogicalTables in BMM layer, one pointing to Essbase's physical tables on the right hand side and the other pointing to your rdbms table(s). In this scenario it is very important to set the levels on your LTS's correctly.

Essbase data crossjoin error in OBIEE analysis report

Anyone got the following error in OBIEE analysis report:
Error Codes: OPR4ONWY:U9IM8TAC:OI2DL65P
State: HY000. Code: 10058. [NQODBC] [SQL_STATE: HY000] [nQSError: 10058] A general error has occurred. [nQSError: 43113] Message returned from OBIS. [nQSError: 96002] Essbase Error: Syntax error in input MDX query on line 13 at token 'crossjoin' (HY000)
The OBIEE version is 11.1.1.6.2
Data is from Essbase Cube, version 11.1.2
The report is a simple cross tab table and we added 'After' aggregation to show grand total.
The error show up when we drill down on dimension, click '+'.
However, if I remove the 'After' aggregation. There is no error at all

I tried to do it in RPD by case when,
e.g. Acutal Sales: case when scenario='Actual' then salesamount end
Budget Sales: case when scenario='Budget' then salesamount end
Actual/Budget%: (Actual Sales/Budget Sales) *100
So there is no error, Actual Sales and Budget Sales are correct, but Actual/Budget % shows nothing in report

Reporting on holap cube

hi all...
i am not sure if this is the right forum section to post my ques...but anyways.
i have created an holap cube using EIS......
what are the various reporting tools other than Excel Addins using which i can report on my holap cube.....
it it possible to report on holap in obiee by importing it from essbase and without mapping it with rdbms data..

Column Formula with Error in OBIEE 11g

On Oracle Business Intelligence Enterprise Edition 11g, I am trying to create an analysis. The database is MySQL. In the database, there is a field of type varchar(10). This
field shows a date. In OBIEE 11g, when creating the analysis, in the Criteria tab, I choose this column (varchar) and edit the formula of it. The operation that I want to do is:
YEAR(CURRENT_DATE) - SUBSTRING("TableName"."ColumnName" FROM 1 FOR 4) where the ColumnName is the name of the column of type varchar(10)
but I get an error: +[nQSError: 10058] A general error has occurred. [nQSError: 43113] Message returned from OBIS. [nQSError: 27002] Near <->: Syntax error [nQSError: 26012]+
If I execute the same query directly on the MySQL database, I get the desired result without any error.
Also, if I use the following formula, I also get an error:
CAST((SUBSTRING("TableName"."ColumnName" FROM 1 FOR 4)) AS INTEGER)
So, I am asking why the first query throws an error in OBIEE 11g but not when it runs directly on the MySQL database. Also, how can I convert in OBIEE 11g a string to integer?

It could mean several different things. Do you know if the administrator have shut down the services? If you have access to the server, check to see if all the services are up and running.

i want to create an holap cube...
how do i start with???

Find the below high level information.
You need Essbase Integration services to develop the HOLAP cubes.
Build the physical OLAP Model(A star schema model) in the relational database layer with finer level of detail.
Import the physical model as logical OLAP Model into the EIS.
Based on the Logical OLAP Model, build the meta outline and set the level of detail required and enable the heirarchies for hybrid analysis.
Once you build the cube, in the essbase details are available as you set in the meta outline and further details are available in the relational database.
Set the HAENABLE to True for the Application and database in the essbase.cfg.

[nQSError: 46044 error in obiee

Hi Team
When i am opening a developed report in in Compound layout i am getting [nQSError: 46044 error in obiee] ,whereas when the same report is placed in the dashboard it is giving the desired output.
So basically i am trying to say that , the report is coming up in the dashboard but when the same report is opened in the compound Layout it is giving [nQSError: 46044 error in obiee error.
Please suggest.

You can load data through Integration Services. How you created metadata(Outline) there you can find two options load metadata and data load, if you select that data load option you can load the data into the cube..

Throws severe error in OBIEE SA with Essbase Cube as Source

Hi All,
Currently we built the SA using Essbase ASO cube as source.Wehen we are trying to drag more then 4-5 dimension hierarchies it throws an severe error
Essbase Error: Query is allocating too large memory(>4GB) and cannot be executed.Query allocation exceeds allocation limits(HY000)
I am not able to identify the same in Essbase Excel addin.All are single-level based hierarchies and the count of dimensions is not more than 1000.
Can someone help me out to find out a way to resolve this issue or any work around.

What is the version that you using for OBIEE and Essbase ?? This is a know bug when Essbase as a source is used for OBIEE reporting. Try to get in touch with Oracle Support by raising an SR and getting correct patch (set of library files) for your system.
This shud solve your problem.

Have you done anything to modify the essbase drill logic within your BMM?
Remember when modeling essbase you should just try to use the defaults first to ensure that all works correctly the first time through. Then you can adjust any hiearchies, federate, etc.

Governor limit exceeded in cube generation error in OBIEE 10g

Hi Gurus,
one of my OBIEE Report is throwing the error called *"Governor limit exceeded in cube generation(Maximum data records exceeded.)"*
I am using OBIEE 10g.Could you please suggest me here and report also runnig for long time like to get one day data it is running for 30 min to pick 9000 rows.

Try to alter the values in the instanceconfig.xml. ( Under \OracleBIData\web\config )

<CubeMaxPopulatedCells>200000</CubeMaxPopulatedCells>
Also refer to : OBIEE 10g: Error: "Governor Limit Exceeded In Cube Generate. Error Codes: QBVC92JY" or "Maximum number of allowed pages in Pivot Table exceeded...Error Detail" When Displaying a Pivot View or Chart [ID 1092854.1] if it did not solve the issue.

Can we show some user defined message while cube loading in OBIEE

Hi All,
Currently we are building OBIEE dashboards from Essbase ASO Cube as datasource.
During Essbase Cube loading ,Essbase will "Disable all Administrative Commands".In this mean time,When users are trying to run the dashboards,OBIEE will thorws severe error.
Can we dispaly some user defined message something like "Cube is loading.Please wait...." or any other alternative.
Time taken to load the cube is 1hr.Please suggest

Yes, You can better try replacing the whole OBIEE dashboard with a custom message. Whenver the load happens...you shud trigger or set a flag value to 'Y'. Using guided navigation when Flag value is matched to Y...right a JS to replace the whole dashboard.

Cant view rdbms level data in HOLAP CUBE

i have created an holap cude using EIS
But i am unable to view the rdbms level data.
for ex i have a market dimension.
in which i have enable hybrid analysis for city level data....
but i am unable to access it in spreadsheet add-in or in obiee answers. niether can i see in essbase(preview data).
hence my cube formed isnt an HOLAP one..
kindly help guys......

Have you updated the essbase.cfg file with
HAENABLE Appname dbname TRUE
Then Analytic Services retrieves all members of a Hybrid Analysis Relational Source through API's, reports, or Spreadsheet Add-in.
If HAENABLE is on, requests can transparently span across the Hybrid Analysis Relational Source.
By default it is set to FALSE.
If it is false Analytic Services turns off retrieval of members of a Hybrid Analysis Relational Source for all clients.

Query is allocating too large memory error in OBIEE 11g

Hi ,
We have one pivot table(A) in our dashboard displaying , revenue against a Entity Hierarchy (i.e we have 8 levels under the hierarchy) And we have another pivot table (B) displaying revenue against a customer hierarchy (3 levels under it) .
Both tables running fine under our OBIEE 11.1.1.6 environment (windows) .
After deploying the same code (RPD&catalog) in a unix OBIEE 11.1.1.6 server , its throwing the below error ,while populating Pivot table A :
Error Codes: OPR4ONWY:U9IM8TAC:OI2DL65P
*State: HY000. Code: 10058. [NQODBC] [SQL_STATE: HY000] [nQSError: 10058] A general error has occurred. [nQSError: 43113] Message returned from OBIS. [nQSError: 96002] Essbase Error: Internal error: Query is allocating too large memory ( > 4GB) and cannot be executed. Query allocation exceeds allocation limits. (HY000)*
But , pivot table B is running fine . Help please !!!!!
