Hold button on ipod classic stopped working

Hi
I know this is an old problem and I've looked into resolving the problem, but
... OK, at the moment unless using a docking station functionality is zero. Genius Bar suggested using a remote control with headphones which I guess would work, but is there something that allows you to access 'menu' as well as just the basic functions /PLAY/FF/VOL/etc when on-the-go?
thanks in advance!

  • My Ipod Classic Stopped Working

    Hey..
please help me, my Ipod Classic stopped working for a 3H And i can't use it
    or turn it off ..
    what's the solution ?
    Thanky you

I am having a similar problem at the moment. My ipod is a 20g and fairly new. It has been skipping through all of the songs as though they can't be played. I have soft reset it on numerous occasions and most of the time it has worked. But now I have reset it through itunes for about the fifth time and it won't work. All I have on screen now is the apple symbol and I can't get anywhere. I have updated itunes and reset my ipod after removing all of the music. It seems to be corrupted somehow. Is there any software I can use to wipe it or possibly defrag it other than what is available through itunes?
My computer can recognise the ipod but itunes won't.

  • Please help Ipod Classic stopped working

My Ipod Classic has stopped. I followed previous instructions. to get to the white screen and the hard-drive and now instead of the red cross it says
SMART DATA  (Cant open device)  ERROR! Diag Holt
    What do I do now?

Did you try a hard reset?  To do this, make sure the hold switch is in the Off position.  Then press and hold both the Select/Center and Menu buttons together long enough for the Apple logo to appear.  This may or may not work the first time around, so give it a couple of tries if necessary.

Hello skdog I possibly think your ipod touch is black because it has not charged. If your dock is broken it might just mean the dock will be broken and so might be the USB port. You should see an Apple shop nearby and hand it over and see what they can do. I hope this information works!

  • My Ipod classic stopped suddenly while playing on the dock. On checking it said connect to iTunes to restore and the battery had also exhausted itself. On connecting to iTunes it kept displaying the message Do Not Disconnect. It never worked after that.

  • Why did my 4th generation iPod touch stop working with my docking station?

I have an Altec docking station and my iPod suddenly stopped working on it.  The station comes on and makes a beeping noise like it is connected when I insert the iPod.  However, the music will only come out of the iPod.  The docking station will charge the battery on the iPod, so I assume it isn't broken.

    - While charging try resetting the iPod:
Reset iPod touch:  Press and hold the On/Off Sleep/Wake button and the Home
button at the same time for at least ten seconds, until the Apple logo appears.
    - Next try restoring the iPod via iTunes.  First from backup and if still problem restore to factory defaults/new iPod.
    - However, I really think that the iPod has a hardware problem and an appointment at the Genius Bar of an Apple store is in order.  If defective Apple should give you a refurbished iPod.

  • IPod touch stopped working when charging now won't turn on at all

iPod touch stopped working when charging now won't turn on at all

    Try in order:
    - After charging or half an hour, reset the iPod:
Reset iPod touch:  Press and hold the On/Off Sleep/Wake button and the Home
button at the same time for at least ten seconds, until the Apple logo appears.
    - Connect the iPod to the computer and if it shows in iTunes, restore the iPod via iTunes.
    - See if placing the iPod in recovory mode will allow iTunes to see the iPod so you can restore the iPod. For recovery mode see:
iPhone and iPod touch: Unable to update or restore
    - Make an appointment at the Genius Bar of an Apple store since you likely have a hardware problem.

4th Generation iPod: camera stopped working; I touch the icon, the screen goes blank navy blue. What do I do?

Have you tried closing the Camera app completely and seeing if it works when you re-open the app ? From the home screen (i.e. not with Camera 'open' on-screen) double-click the home button to bring up the taskbar, then press and hold any of the apps on the taskbar for a couple of seconds or so until they start shaking, then press the '-' in the top left of the Camera app to close it, and touch any part of the screen above the taskbar so as to stop the shaking and close the taskbar.
If that doesn't work then you could try a reset : press and hold both the sleep and home buttons for about 10 to 15 seconds (ignore the red slider), after which the Apple logo should appear - you won't lose any content, it's the equivalent of a reboot.

  • Why won't that apps that weren't built into my iPod randomly stop working?
