Holding Message in AFW!!!

Hi guys,
I have a message in Holding status in AFW…
SAP help tells me this definition:
HOLDING:
The state of an EOIO message that cannot be delivered until its predecessors have been delivered.
Anyone knows what’s happening and how can I reprocess it again?
Thanks in advance,
Ricardo.

hi,
have a look at Stefan's weblog:

  • ** File to Mail through BPM - Holding Messages

    Hi Friends,
We are running File to Mail scenario in our PRD server. We use BPM design to collect messages and grouping it send to mail id with XL attachments.
Some of the messages are in Holding state i.e from the BPM to Mail adapter.  I have compared the successful messages payload similar to the holding messages payload. There is no difference. Both payload are correct.
When I resend the holding message, it tries to resend and again going into holding state. I am not able to trace out the reason. Because, the 'To' address is same, body of the content is same (except value).
Do I need to check anything in BPM side ?
Can you help me to identify this problem.
    Kind regards,
    Jegathees P.

    Hi,
Does the messages are gng to hold state in the Mail Adapter Receiver??
If so nthng needs to be done in BPM..
But instead u need to check the Mail adapter Receiver.....
In message monitoring fr this interface and namespace please check if any previos messages are struk in queue..
Check by changing the dates of previos also and delete them....
Once u delete all the messages previos error status... now run end to end.. u will get all the mails...
If still any prblm.. do post
If any question you are closing, please do also post the resolution you found..... So that others can benifit from that
and we can avoid repeated question

  • IPOD shuffle as ON-HOLD Message player for AVAYA

I have used my daughter's IPOD 4GB plugged into my AVAYA Partner phone system to play an "On-hold" message and it works great. I bought a Shuffle to do the same thing so I could give back my daughter's 4GB. The on-hold message only plays intermittently. I do not believe it is a cable as the cable works perfectly with the 4GB. Will the Shuffle work in this application?

I'm having the same problem with the new Shuffle that I bought for my AVAYA phone system. Is there a way to make this work correctly?

  • Hold messages in Adapter

    Hi,
Can anyone suggest what to do with hold messages. My messages are not processing because of this.
I am using SOAP reciever adapter for Asynchrnous scenario with message split. When i look at the messages in adapter engine, It is whoing the same message id, And I could not able to delete them or cancel them.
I am using PI 7.0 SP 13. I have come across a note that problem with SP13 of XI 3.0, but not for PI 7.0.
    Appreciate your suggestions.
    Thanks,
    Srinivas

    Hi Srinivasa,
When is Status equal to HOLDING is when The state of an EOIO message that cannot be delivered until its predecessors have been delivered.
There is also a problem with SP level.
Check note 811864, maybe it might help you.
note 813993 indicates this is a bug fixed in SP11
note 816022 you find some trouble shooting for AE, maybe there is something in, that is interesting for you?
The link helps explain the problem http://help.sap.com/saphelp_nw04/helpdata/en/49/e3fb40ef74f823e10000000a155106/frameset.htm
Regenerated queues in SXMB_ADMIN should resolve the problem.

  • Audition 5.5 - Help with .wav files for phone system - making a hold message PC & Mcc

    Hello everyone,
I am really frustrated trying to create a .wav file for our phone system and I was hoping someone might have some suggestions as I am new to using Adobe Audition. Our phone system will only accept .wav files for our hold messages but the tricky part is that is can only be a maxiimum streaming bit rate of 64 kbps. Everything we've created under 256 kbps becomes in-audible and I'm really not sure what to do as the current messages sound fantastic. Our current hold message is 35 seconds long and we have another one we are about to do which will be 2 minutes long (uuuugh).
    - I've tried first converting the .wav file to an .mp3, lowering the bit rate to 64 kbps, then converting back to .wav but the bit rate goes up to almost 1500 kbps after re-converting.
    - I've tried making the track mono, reducing the sample rate to 22k but the size ends up being somewhere between 512 and 768. If I lower the sample rate much further and convert to 8bit, the audio sounds terrible.
    - I've also tried using Adobe Media Encoder, Audacity, Hand Brake, OS X Automator and a few other programs all with the same results.
    - I've tried re-recording the audio on a handheld .mp3 recorder hoping the initial quality would be less (originally recorded on a PC through Audition with a external mic).
Unfortuantely, the person who used to do these conversions is no longer with the company, never documented the process and all I know is that they used to do this on a Mac. Also, the software that uplaods the files is a Linux based which is out of my area of expertise so I'm not able to tinker with it to make any headway.
** Any sort of suggestion would be greatly aprpeciated as I really don't know much about audio. I've been working on this for 2 weeks now and this is really driving me crazy. **

Eugh! Converting to MP3 is absolutely not the thing to do!

Okay, in reverse order: I know it sounds daft, but actually you want to start with the best recording you can possibly have. You are going to have to reduce its bit rate, but if you reduce a crap signal's bit rate, it inevitably ends up worse than reducing a good signal's one; when you think about that for a moment, it's going to make sense (I hope...).
As for what you need to do - well it's going to have to be a mono file anyway (you haven't got a stereo telephone system), and that will immediately halve the streaming rate, but the other thing you need to bear in mind is that telephones have a limitited bandwidth, and that your sample rate, even at 22k, is going to give you more bandwidth than the system has. If you can reduce it to 8k, it will work fine. This will still give you an upper frequency limit of 4kHz, and that's more than adequate for telephone speech, believe it or not...
The other thing, and this is where I think you may be running into trouble, is that 8 bit streaming is pretty much the norm here. All it does is to increase the noise floor, so that the signal to noise ratio is about 48dB instead of the 96dB it would be with a 16-bit signal. But, to get this to work to your advantage, you have to optimise the audio you are using in the first place. Chances are that you need to compress your recording so that it has a relatively limited dynamic range before reducing it to 8-bit, and then you'll be fine. This is better anyway for telephone systems - there's far less chance of bits of the message being missed because they're too quiet. Also, you don't want massive great peaks in the recording - these just reduce the maximum overall level for the majority of the message sound. So, you need to apply a limiter to get rid of them, leaving the majority of the speech sounding just as good, only louder. All of this you can easily do in Audition - don't need any other software at all.
So, my guess is that the previous maker of your messages knew exactly what he was doing. Yes, he could have documented the basic steps, but he couldn't have been absolutely specific about it because no two recordings are the same. I'll attempt to explain the basic steps in English, but how well you will be able to follow this, I'm not sure...
The basic process I'd go through with the recordings is firstly to normalize them to 0dB, then look at how far down most of the 'green' parts are - this is the bulk of the signal, and where all of the meaning is. Then, you apply a limiter to this so that those green parts don't have peaks sticking out of them. Then, if you need to, normalize again so that the green part moves to the upper part of the waveform space (towards where 0dB is). Then, if you need to, apply compression to the signal so that the level of it sounds about the same all through the message.
Now, when you reduce your signal to mono, 8k, and 8-bit, pretty much everything about the original signal will still be there. That should stream 8-bit words at 8k, making 64k streaming for a single mono channel. This will work fine, but only if you optimise the signal first - otherwise no chance!

  • Message status "Holding" - Message monitoring adapter framework

    Hello,
We have some messages with the status "Holding" in a queue in the message monitoring in the adapter framework.
Normally you have to restart the first message of that queue. The message with the status "system error". Unfortunately this message is not available anymore because it is older than 30 days and the retetion period is 30 days.
I already read the blog about "[How to deal with stuck EOIO messages in the XI 3.0 Adapter Framework|http://www.sdn.sap.com/irj/scn/weblogs;jsessionid=(J2EE3417100)ID1887311350DB01819286872323159351End?blog=/pub/wlg/3566]"
The blog does not mention what to do when the first message (sequential number) is not available anymore.
Is it possible to restart the messages in the queue in that case?
    Thanks
    Kind regards
    Frank

Unfortunately this message is not available anymore because it is older than 30 days and the retetion period is 30 days.
I assume that the message was deleted.....in this case the next message in the queue will be blocking the queue....so try resending this message....even the blog mentions that you either solve the error or cancel the message....so now start from the second message....if possible solve the error for this message....if not possible to resolve then cancel it so that rest of the queue gets processed
    From the blog:
Now the erroneous message is the first message in the display. You can look at the error reason, try to fix the problem and
resend or cancel the message to release the queue.
    Regards,
    Abhishek.

  • How to process stucked holding messages in the Adapter Engine.

    Hi experts,
This question is may be familier to all...
There are thousands of messages are in holding status in the Adapter engine in RWB.
I tried to found system error in these messages. There is no system error from the last in my investigation. I tried to restart of the communication channels of the combination of these messages. But it is also not use to fix this problem.
Instead of the restart of the Java engine please let me know is there any possibility to fix this issue.
    Regards
    Mahesh

    Hello Mahesh
You can try restarting some of the XI services (e.g. com.sap.aii.af.svc) but usually a java restart is required to free up these blocked threads/queues.
Most likely these messages are in Holding status because there is a blockage in one of the Adapter queues. This can be monitored in the RWB
    -> Component Monitoring
    -> Adatper Engine XIP
    -> Engine Status
    -> Additional Data
Find out what adapter queues are causing the blockage and increase the number of threads/queues available to it. This will help prevent the issue occuring again.
See note #791655 Documentation of the XI Messaging System Service Properties, for an explaination of the queues.
See these blogs for more details:

    2) /people/kenny.scott/blog/2008/12/05/xipi-file-and-jdbc-receiver-adapter-performance-and-availability-improvements

  • How to deal with HOLDING Messages in Message Monitoring

    Hi Experts,
The messages are going into Holding statu whenever we try to execute a scenario with multi-mapping or doing a message split.these messages are holding since months and are never sent, even if we try to resend it.Any help on this will be appreciated greatly thank you.

Holding means EOIO message waiting to execute previous message in queue.
    1. Delete all messages
    2. Delete files from directory
    3. Change QoS from EOIO to EO.
If you want to use EOIO then check everything again and process message successfully you can also assign separate queue for same.

  • IN SEARCH IT HOLDS MESSAGES INFO

so i noticed that in the search panel if you scroll left on your iphone and just type a random letter it holds info of deleted messages!!!
how do i stop this and why is it doing it?

If you're going to be using a second drive for data storage, 128GB should be enough. But get the 256GB SSD if you can afford it, because it will be more useful long term (maybe even with your next Mac later). You can also consider getting a fast hard drive with a large cache, which would be cheaper than SSD for larger capacity.  I used to have a Western Digital Velociraptor (150GB 10,000 RPM 32mb cache) in my Power Mac G5, with a "regular" hard drive (2TB) as the secondary "data" drive. That worked well.
With older hardware, the difference between an SSD and a fast hard drive is probably not as great compared to current hardware (that can take better advantage of the SSD's ultra-high access speed).
You can start off with that 80GB drive now.  It's probably at least 7200 RPM (although it may only have an 8mb cache).  Get a large second hard drive.  Install the OS on the 80GB drive, along with your applications.  You can keep a minimal user home folder on the 80GB drive, at the usual location, but store most of your data on the large second drive.  This includes "typical" things that take up a lot of space, such as your iTunes Media folder and iPhoto library.
If that setup works well, you may want to just use it that way long term.  Or, you can clone the 80GB drive to a new faster SSD or hard drive, then swap them out.
Maximum RAM depends on your specific Power Mac G5 model.  Some 1.8 GHz models are 8GB max and some are 4GB max. You can find your specific Power Mac G5 here
    http://www.everymac.com/systems/apple/powermac_g5/index-powermac-g5.html

  • Hold message in queue when user over mailquota

I am testing message store quota, user mail quota and grace period behavior (running MS5.2 hotfix 1.21 and DS5.2) ...
I know that, if I set default user disk quota (for whole message store), it is for all users and during grace period messages will be queued if some user is over default quota.
I also know that, if I set mailquota attribute for specific user, and I put this mailquota smaller then default user disk quota, mailquota will be enforced over default quota.
BUT, IN THIS CASE THERE IS NO GRACE PERIOD !
Default grace period is not valid for this attribute, and if user has mailquota set, and he is over quota, his messages will not be queued!
How can I change this behavior and set those messages to be hold also?
Is it with keyword holdexquota? If so, for which channel, ims-ms or process or?
...and I just tried to put holdexquota for ims-ms channel in imta.cnf, I did ./imsimta refresh,
but it didn't help, messages are still refused right away, without grace period...
    Can someone help?
    Regards,
    Demian

    Sorry for the delayed answer...
    I did following:
    ./reconstruct -q
    ./iminitquota -a
Afterwards, I tried to send mails again, here are two tested options:
Mails sent form address [email protected]
    1. user set quota for [email protected]
    2. message store set quota for [email protected]
    Same thing happened again:
User [email protected] has mailquota set as for the whole message store, and he is over quota, his messages were queued.
User [email protected] has mailquota set to different value then for the whole message store, and he is over quota, his messages were not queued.
For this one I received the following notifiction:
    From: System Administrator
Undeliverable: Delivery Notification: Delivery has failed
Your message did not reach some or all of the intended recipients.
    Subject:

The following recipient(s) could not be reached:

The message could not be delivered because the recipient's mailbox is full.
    <iplanet.com (ims-ms-daemon) #5.2.2>
Here are logs for those two tested options...
    Is there anything suspicious?

  • Messages are Holding in message monitoring tool

    Hi All,
I am facing the problem with messages which are in holding state.
My scenario is file to proxy. The file content contains of EDI. my scenario is already gone to production last year.
and its working fine. Used java mappings for validation of EDI file. its running successfully.
where as in Dev system till october first i used to load the files in FTP inbox folder and messages were processed successfully.
But from october first week when i load the files in FTP inbox, file has been picking succesfully and can see the logs in sender comm channel  but the i can see that my interface is in holding state in message monitoring tool and its not going to receiver comm channel. I have loaded 5 files and all are in holding state.
even i have cancelled first error message and tried to resend the next message swhich is in holding state, but this is not happening.
    i am using EOIO queue.
when i cancel the error message remaining messages should processed automatically but its not getting processed here.
sequencing of the interface triggering is
    1. Interface_1
    2. Interface_2
    3. Interface_3
    4. Interface_4
Here i am stucking up with the first interface itself. Here only first interface is in holding state.
can any one advise what could be the problem..
    I m on SP 10.
    Thanks,
    Bhaskar

    Hi Abhijit,
Even after unchecking the checkbox maintain order at runtime, its not working.
i think there is no disturbed in message processing sequence.
my first sender interface itself going into hold state.
i have cancelled the hold message, even after that remaining messages are processing automatically.
and also i could not fine any messages in SMQ1 and SMQ2.
I also deresister and registered te queues and activated.
Kindly advise what would be the problem..
in production its working fine and development its not working fine.
    Thanks,
    Bhaskar

  • Messages are HOLD in RWB

    Hi,
I am facing a problem with Messages recieved by SOAP Adapter. I am using Aynchronous call and message split. The scenario is Proxy to SOAP receiver.
There 5 messages calling WebServices at the same time. there are no errors in MONI.
In RWB, I can see three messages are processed successfully and Two message are in HOLD status.
I am searched in forums and notes are talking about EOIO.This means the SOAP receiver put the messages in EOIO. Because we nowhere specify in receiver EO or EOIO.
Hope message split is not a problem. I am using PI 7.0 SP 13.
Thanks in advance for your suggestions,
    Srinivasa

    Hi,
Atleast my scenarios are not going to HOLD. The all new messages flowing now.
Still, i have to check how to restart my old hold messages, i am gettting exceptions for this.
One more problem is the messages are not in order, i am expecting one message to execute before that other one. the messages are generated from message split and hitting all my SOAP receiver adapter...
My interface deterimination already specified " maintain order at runtime"
It looks it is maintaining order in integration server, but adapter engine processining in its own way.
Is there anything i have to do here.
    Thanks,
    Srinivasa

  • Messages stuck in Holding status in Runtimeworkbench

    Hi,
Some Messages are stuck in Runtime workbench of PI in Holding status,When I resend the messages they return to same status again.
The messages are sent on 15-5-2014.I could not find those messages either in SXMB_MONI or SMQ2.
Now how to resend the messages successfully.Appreciate your help in this.

    Hi Gurudatta,
If it is EOIO then you can go the Messaging System and there you can find  the message which is blocking the other queues. Check the first message and delete it
And go to runtime work bech ---Message Monitoring --Adapter Engine and filter Holding message and Resend/cancel the first holding message
If it is not successfull stop and start the recevier communication channel. This will work

  • Messages are in hold in the Adapter Engine

    Hi all,
I am seeing in my adapter engine that all of the messages are in status hold , it is for  a specific business system and interface.
2009-02-10 21:41:30 Success Message successfully put into the queue.
2009-02-10 21:41:31 Success The message was successfully retrieved from the receive queue.
2009-02-10 21:41:31 Success The message status set to HOLD.
    can anyone please help?
    Thanks in advance
    Sugata B

    Hi
i ve got the same problem .
I m using the message monitor in order to find the first message in error in this queue and so to be able to free the queue.
My problem is how to detect these holding messages.
As the error is in the Adapter Engine , you cant see it in sxmb_moni transaction
In the message monitoring, you can check it manually.
