If you assign songs a rating an unrated album gets an automatic rating, which you can override by rating it.
If you assign an album a rating unrated songs get an automatic rating, which you can override by rating them.
iTunes doesn't import ratings from tags, or third party services. You set them.
You can't turn automatic ratings off.

The Finder reports File information. The date and time of the photo are in the Photo's Exif metadata. The Finder has no awareness of this. All photos apps on any system do.

I appreciate your answer. While it might work, I'm a bit hesitant to remove the other programs as a possible solution since they are all currently working.
With Acrobat 9 Pro failing with the OS 10.7 upgrade, I'm hoping that there is a less severe solution.
Since the trigger appears to be 10.7 and may have something to do with the discontinued support of Rosetta, I could be spending a few hours working on a reinstall without a change. Yes, it might work. The "might" is the part that makes me hesitate.
Is anyone else out there on OS 10.7 and running Acrobat 9 Pro? Any issues with anyone else?

I just purchased a mac, and I have all my music on my external HD which I've since transferred to my mac, but I'd like to transfer my playlists that I have stored on my iPhone over to my mac, along with ratings, play count, and all other options I set in iTunes. Is there anyway to do this???

try going to version tracker.com and do a search, there are some commercial, shareware and freeware version. I have never used any of them so I really don't want to recommend any one.. just look at the "release date" and the star ratings there is a freeware one rated pretty highly called "Pod to Mac"... again, never used one so I have no idea

My iPod touch (5th gen) doesn't list some albums in the artist's section. But still lists the individual songs in the music list. How can I better organize this?

I recently bought an iPod touch 5th generation, I had a few CD albums here that I wanted to put into my new iPod, just like my old one. But with my old one I put them all in and it organized them all as the same artist (which they are), so under artists I just had to click on their name, then pick the album. In the 5th gen one, it puts the songs in my iPod, but I can't find the actual album under "Artists". I put 2 albums by this artist, but it only shows one, and the other is nowhere to be found, but it's still in my iPod, just as individual songs in the songs section. I don't think this'll be the only time I'm running into this problem on the 5th gen, I had trouble organizing some other songs. How can I better organize these albums, show them all under the same artist? I tried to re-write the artist name to be exactly the same, but that doesn't do anything.

I would either say that the iOS is correpted due to a software glitch or y have have a hardware problem like bad memory locations that are corrupting the iOS.
- Restore from backup via iTunes. This will install a fresh copy of the iOS. See:
iOS: How to back up
- Restore to factory settings/new iOS device.   This will elimate corruptin in the backup causing the problem.
If still problem, make an appointment at the Genius Bar of an Apple store since it appears you have a hardware problem.

Download iPhoto Library Manager and use its rebuild function. (In Library Manager it's the FIle -> Rebuild command)
This will create an entirely new library. It will then copy (or try to) your photos and all the associated metadata and versions to this new Library, and arrange it as close as it can to what you had in the damaged Library. It does this based on information it finds in the iPhoto sharing mechanism - but that means that things not shared won't be there, so no slideshows, books or calendars, for instance - but it should get all your events, albums and keywords, faces and places back.
Because this process creates an entirely new library and leaves your old one untouched, it is non-destructive, and if you're not happy with the results you can simply return to your old one.

Why did I add and album and it when in several times but only 1 to 3 songs on album at a time

Added new albums. Some separated songs and and made new folders out of them. I had my own bluegrass music i down loaded from CD and they all dissappeared. I have lots of Christmas songs on ipod but I really don't want to hear them till aleast Thanksgiving. How do I put those songs on hold til i want them. If your country's iTunes Store allows you to redownload purchased tracks, I'd delete your current copies of the dodgy tracks and try redownloading fresh copies. For instructions, see the following document:

When Firefox tries to do auto update at start I get an error message saying update failed, be sure no other Firefox programs are running. Since none are running I am not sure what to look for. What can I do to eliminate this error?

As I start Firefox the automatic update tells me that Firefox will open after updete finishes. I then receive an error message that tells me the update failed. It also says to be sure there are no other versions ov Firefox running. There are no other instances of Firefox running so the error must be generating from some other issue. Need some hints so I can look further. THis happens on two of 4 computers: a desktop running W7 Ultimate and this web book running W7 Home Premium.

*It is important to delete the Firefox program folder to remove all the files and make sure that there are no problems with files that were leftover after uninstalling.
You can skip the step to create a new profile, that is not necessary for this issue.

To import music into your iTunes library on the computer go to iTunes>Help>iTunes Help>Add items to iTunes and follow the instructions
Delete the "songs" that do not play in your iTunes library and reimport them.
