Hollywood FX PRO v5.1 into premier pro cs3

Hi friends,
I have Hollywood FX PRO v5.1 but it is not working for PPR CS3. I need to use this with PPR so is there any Idea? Please somebody let me know.....
Thank you.
Jey.

Do a Search for "Hollywood FX" in this forum. About 8 mos. ago, there was a thread on doing this. Going back to earlier versions, there were some renaming tips for using HW-FX with PrPro. However, with the Pro version, some other things had to be done. It seems that one was getting things to work in Vista.
IIRC, the OP for that thread found a workaround that worked perfectly for them. I just do not recall what that workaround was. Maybe success is just a search away. Unfortuntely, I do not recall any of the posters to that thread to help you more.
Good luck, and please update this thread, if you have success.

  • Importing sound into Premier Pro CS3

I have a Sony HDR-XR100 HD video camera.  It saves files with an .m2ts extension.  This extension is not supported by CS3.  Using Sony's PMB (Picture Motion Browser), I convert the .m2ts files to .mpeg2.  When I import these files into Premier, they appear, but have no audio.  How do I import the audio?  Thanks.
    David

I put it in the main Premier folder, presumably like you did, and it worked.  I'm not real familiar with Macs, but the folder I put it in was "C:\Program Files\Adobe\Adobe Premiere Pro CS3".  There are several other files there with similar names.  If that doesn't work, I'm lost, since obviously I had to come here for help myself :).

Subject: Importing sound into Premier Pro CS3
Hey, I'm using CS for Mac and I'm having the same issue , importing .mpg into PPro and get no audio.
I found the ad2ac3dec.dll file online but I'm not sure what folder to place it in. I've found the folder named Adobe Premire Pro CS3 and just pasted it into that but it didn't work.
My camera only records in .mpg and I really don't want to spend money on a converter after spending a bucketload for CS3...
Any help would be much appreciated!

When I import a file from a DVD into Premier Pro, it only shows two thirds of the screen. All is viewable when watching DVD which is in widescreen.
    Can anyone assist?

    Hi Ann,
Here is a screen shot with sequence setting dialogue box open as well as a DVD player shot showing the full version of the video screen. (Unfortunately, the pic of the video would not translate). I have been told by Adobe that it may be the video card not operating well with the recently downloaded Yosemite OS.

  • Cannot import mpg files into Premier Pro CS3

I've read the wiki and looked through the FAQs and did not find this issue, so here goes.
The file began life as an mp4 from a GoPro HD camera.  It plays correctly in Apple's software, but will not import into Premier.  Found the KB on
Error message "Unsupported format or damaged file" when you import  MP4 clips into Premiere Pro CS3 and changed the extension to MPG.  This got me audio, but no video.  The MPG plays correctly (audio and video) in Windows Media Player as well as in Bridge CS4.

    Any ideas?

PrPro is pretty well centered on pro formats. Many find that other NLE's, designed for consumer cameras and formats, work better and some natively. It's a tough call. I love the interface and workflow of PrPro, and use it 99% of the time. However, with heavily-compressed, delivery-only formats/CODEC's, some other NLE's work better - to start. I use those as converters, or do batch conversions with DigitalMedia converter, but it's shareware, and not freeware.
Some users want PrPro to embrace every possible CODEC and variation on each, with hourly updates, as mfgrs make changes, and others want it to only perform 100% with pro-formats and leave the consumer stuff totally alone - there is PrElements for that. Me? I just roll with the punches, and convert from X to Y, and edit in my chosen NLE. Kinda' the "Jimmy Buffett" of video editing.

  • Import AVCHD video footage into Premier Pro CS6 - MAC - AUDIO MISSING!

    Hi,
Ive been attempting to import AVCHD video footage captured on a Panasonic into Premier Pro CS6 on my MacPro. I've tried this from the camera and after copying the entire folder to my desktop. The footage is there, but has no audio! I have read loads, forums, advice, YouTube vids and Adobe manuals, trouble shooting and help, but found no simple answer to this simple issue.
    Any help would be appreciated.

Thanks too Jeff. Sandeep's post is a simple redirect to a post on Adobe which naturally I've already read before turning to the forum. The link then sends you to another link! Info. is too light on specifics, doesn't help! I have 6.0.5 as downloaded from Adobe... no joy! All remains the same, picture but still no audio! Maybe a compatibility issue with Panasonic's HC X900... but Panasonic's website is as light on info. as Adobe. I'm off to the shop to buy FCP or Avid.

  • Importing .avi file into premier pro CS3 without losing quality

I have used CAMStudio to capture datalogging on my screen. The file size is 1280 x 800 pixels with a frame rate of 200 frames/second. I have tried using virtual dub and many other programs to create an avi file that I can import into premier without losing quality. None of this has worked. I have tried using the forum post http://forums.adobe.com/message/2060872#2060872 but this didn't work for me either. If anyone has a simple solution for this problem I would greatly appreciate it. Even if anyone could suggest a different screen capture program the will smoothly import into premiere without losing quality.

Very recently, Jeff Bellune posted his workflow for Camtasia/CamStudio material. I'd do a Search for "Techsmith" then filter on this forum and on People = Jeff Bellune. IIRC, he basically updated Dan Isaacs' suggestions. I do not think that his techniques were limited to CS4, but could be wrong.
If I can find that post, I'll add the link here. Actually, I need to make sure that I have that link in an article that I did on Camtasia/CamStudio workflow elsewhere.
    Good luck,

  • How do I Import footage from Premier Pro CS3 to After Effects?

    Hi
As the subject says, how do I import footage from premier pro cs3 into after effects. I'm getting rather frustrated trying to figure this out.
Via copy & paste I can copy into after effects but this copys the whole of the track on the timeline, where as I just want 10 seconds copied. The 10 seconds I want to copy is a segment & was highlighted when I clicked copy.
Also when the full track gets copied, all my edits aren't copied & I get the raw track copied???
I've googled this, tried the "Add Dynamic Link" but all I want is to copy 10 seconds of footage from premier into after effects, add my effect & then copy it back, and I can't figure out how to do this simple thing
    Any help
    Thanks.

I am still not getting this.
I highlight the selection I want to copy into after effects. I copy & paste it & it pastes my entire footage without any off the edits I have made.
Having searched loads for this I can find no other answer than copy & paste.
Please please could you guy be more specific with your answers as I just can't figure this one?

  • Getting random white noise in Premier Pro CS3 audio

I'm working with Premier Pro CS3 on a simple 15 minute slide show with approx. 150 pictures and 3 songs in WAV format. In each of the three songs, I'm getting 1-second bursts of white noise - on left or right or both channels - approx. 3-4 times in each song.  When played outside of Premier Pro, all songs are clean with no white noise.  None of the songs are too 'hot'; show three have good levels in Soundbooth. I've scanned all of the audio sections in Help and can find nothing that might explain the cause and I'd appreciate some guidance.  I've worked with previous versions of Premier Pro for years and have never run into this.  Thanks.

Have you updated your Creative driver? That would be one of the first things that I would do.
Next, in Soundbooth, do you see the noise in the Waveform? In PrPro, when you zoom in both vertically and horizontally on the Audio Track, do you see it in the Waveform?
Some folk have had great luck using ASIO4ALL as their ASIO driver. It has cleared up many issues with a broad range of equipment. I do not recall your exact problem, but then I might have missed that one. Note: after you download and install ASIO4ALL, you'll need to go to Audio Hardware and set it as your Input and Output. This driver has been very helpful on the Audition forum, and with all sorts of issues and some very esoteric hardware.
Hope that something helps, and good luck,

  • Premier Pro CS3 doesn't activate

Hi, my Premier Pro CS3 doesn't activate. Or once it kind of did but now it claims that it hasn't. I've tried to solve this with Adobe chat support personel for 4 times now and three of them said "Now it works, you won't run into problems anymore", which of course I have, and the last fellow said "It's a technical problem which we have little information of, please ask from technical support". He gave me a link to this forum. How you guys could help me if they couldn't is beyond me, but I definitely hope you can. The product is licensed for two computers in our company, and last time the chat -fellow cleaned previous activations and now it should only be licensed on my computer as my collague hasn't got time to do it yet. The error message that I'm getting is something like "Unable to connect Adobe" and then there're 3 options 1st: retry (doesn't work) 2nd: try again later (gives 30 days trial I guess) 3rd: Trial or such.. It work fine two times after the 3rd chat -fellow "fixed it", but then I got Adobe CC with photoshop and LR5 and now the problem is back. Any ideas? I would greatly appriciate any leads fixing this as I should use Premier for my company.

Hardware crashes or virus infections or simple software problems happen, so you should buy AND USE software to make a full backup of your hard drive to an external USB hard drive... plus, making step-by-step backups during a new setup or major program addition makes it easy to go back a step if something doesn't work
This backup and then restore is, of course, only to the same computer with a new drive (or the same drive as long as you don't mind writing over everything) since doing a restore to a new computer won't work due to Windows and many programs having activation information that is keyed to your hardware (which is why Windows will force you to RE-Activate if you change very much hardware)
The product I use is at http://www.terabyteunlimited.com/image-for-linux.htm
Image runs off of a bootable CD via Linux (the Zip you download includes a program to make the bootable CD) and it reads EVERYTHING on the drive, even the hidden registration information, so everything is restored when needed... and you may restore the image to a brand new drive in case of a crash, and not have to re-install anything

  • Premier Pro CS3 Error "time.cpp-390"

    Please help!
Whenever I try to manipulate my timeline in Adobe Premier Pro CS3 on a short film that is nearing it's deadline, I get this error "time.cpp-390" followed by the software crashing. Any help?
Adobe no longer provides support for their product and their tech support help line is utterly useless. I have google searched the error and searched the forums... I own 15 CS3 Creative Suites and if they think I am upgrading to CS5.5 after this customer service experience... I may be moving to FC7.
I really need to fix this!
Thank you for any help you can be.

The event viewer gives me nothing, unfortunately. Thank you for the help though! I did find a solution though...
Reinstalling the software (the ONLY solution offered by Adobe support people) was entirely a waste of time. So was the nearly two hours I spent talking to four people on their support line just trying to get them to help me. I learned that if I just kept asking for a superviser, they would keep letting me talk to someone different. Apperantly, there is no end in the number of people who are considered "supervisors" at adobe...
Adobe provided no useful assistance other then telling me to reinstall the software. I am actually more than simply dissapointed with the complete lack of support and complete lack of effort in helping me find a solution to the issue. I actively suggest people use something other than Premier Pro for no other reason than a lack of integrity by the company in supporting thise who spend thousands of dollars on their products. Anyway... I hate them and I'm tired of crying about it.
    SOLUTION TIME!!!
Ok, so here is the solution. The ONLY solution was to copy the timeline and the bin into a new, fresh project file. I started a new, empty project, then copy/pasted the timeline from the old to the new project. I did the same with the emaining contents of the bin and voila! the error stopped happening.  I have NO IDEA why... but I know that it works and it only took me two days to figure out. In fact, all of the projects I have that are in various stages of completion, must be coppied into new projects in order to work. In other projects, I don't get the time.cpp-390 error, it just simply will not insert a clip no matter what I do.
So, I'm glad it works... I just wish I knew what the problem was.

  • Premier Pro CS3 crashes with Canon 7D HD files

I am just putting together a promo for a client, shot in HD on my Canon 7D. Everything went fine until 3 minutes into the project when Premier Pro CS3 refuses to render more than 1:30 minutes. (I already changed preferences to "Optimize rendering for Memory") Also the preview window is blanced out White and Black further down the project time line (even after changing back to:"Optimize rendering for Performance". Also now Premier starts crashing everytime I add a sound track. It looks as if the Canon 7D .mov files are too unwieldy for my new 12GB iMac 2,8 GHz Intel Core i7 (OSX 10.6.3).
I need some urgent help please, as my job in in jeopardy.
Should I convert my canon .mov files into H.264 first or what is the best way to work with these files?(using MPEG Streamclip)
Thanks very much for your help.

I am probably too late, but if you have Apple Pro Res 422 Codec available in MPEG Streamclip you should transcode your HD files to that and then bring it into Premiere. They will be easier to work with that way.
    Good Luck!

  • Importing Kodak .mov files in Premier Pro CS3?

I am using Premier Pro CS3 and I have a new Kodak Playsport Zx3.  Kodak says the .mov clips are 1080p, and 30 frames a second. I tried importing clips into CS3 and I get 'file type not supported' error.  The manual says .mov are supported.  What am I missing?  Do I need Quicktime installed for importing the files?

    Welcome to the forum.
Can you tell us more about your computer?
If you are getting the "Not Supported" error, then it is likely that you do not have the proper CODEC's installed. For the MOV format, those are usually installed with Apple's QuickTime Player. Do you have that installed? If not, it is free, though IMHO, is not that great a player. In your case, you only need the CODEC's that it installs.
    Good luck,
    Hunt
PS - something else to consider is that many camera mfgrs. will ship their own version of the CODEC's, and these might be on the CD/DVD, that came with the camera. Sometimes, the CODEC is an extra install, sometimes it's built into the driver for the camera, and sometimes, it's part of some video editing program, that ships with the camera. It just depends.

  • Importing AVIs into Adobe Premiere Pro CS3 !!!

Heres what Im trying to do: We have been working on a PC Leitch Velocity Q NLE system for the past couple years and just got 2 new Matrox Axio LE NLEs with Adobe Premiere Pro CS3. We are trying to get all our old projects from the Velocity system onto our Matrox systems and not sacrifice any of the video quality. I've been thinking that the best way to do this is by compressing old projects to AVI format from the Velocity system and move them over to the Matrox using an external hard drive.
I was actually able to bring in an AVI from the Velocity system onto the Matrox yesterday using the same Velocity settings below, except that I changed the aspect to 720 x 480 and the audio sample rate to 48,000. When playing the video on the timeline in Premiere the video looked great on my computer monitor but on my external NTSC monitor all motion in the video looked a little jerky as if frames are missing. I tried importing the test clip into both Matrox uncompressed 8-bit and uncompressed 10-bit projects and had the same resulting jerky looking video. Even after rendering the clip the video looked the same. Then I tried exporting the clip to mpeg using the Matrox media encoder but saw no change in the jerky movement. Here are my project and export setting for both systems.
    The AVI was made on a PC Leitch Velocity Q NLE system. My project settings on the Velocity system are;
    29.97 drop frame
    720 x 486 24 Bit
    Interlaced field order B
    Sub pixel off Cropping off
    Audio:
    16 sample
    44 / samples / second
    2 channel
Export settings are; (These are the settings I was trying the first time that didnt work. All I changed the second time was the aspect ratio to 720 x 480 and the audio sampling rate to 48.)
    AVI
    Frame rate 29.97
    720 x 486
    No Compression
    Color 24 Bits
Field handling interlaced field order B
    Audio:
    16 sample
    Sampling rate 44
    2 channels stereo
Do you recommend compressing the video coming out of Velocity?
There are a couple other options other than No Compression in the export dialogue such as: Microsoft H.263 video codec, Microsoft H.261 video codec. I definitely want to maintain the highest quality possible.
    Matrox Axio LE project settings
    Editing mode: Matrox NTSC
    Timebase: 29.97 fps
    Video
    Frame Size: 720 x 486
Pixel Aspect Ratio: D1 / DV NTSC (0.9)
    Fields: Lower field first
Display: Format 30fps Drop Frame Timecode
    Audio: Sample 48,000 Hz
    Display: Audio sample
Video Rendering: Maximum bit depth is Unchecked
Previews: File format Matrox uncompressed 8-bit NTSC (tried Matrox uncompressed 10-bit too.)
I think the jerky video might be due to dropping frames but Im not sure.
    Any help is greatly appreciated!

While it seems that the field order is consistent, I have seen issues where converting from clips that change field order creates this sort of problem. This is particularly obvious when converting from MJPEG codecs like Meridien or Miro/Pinnacle to DV.
What happens if you just import the files into Premiere and let it do the rendering to the project settings?
