For some reason the home button on my ipod touch is stuck in the down position. I just clicked it and it got stuck. What can I do to get it unstuck?
Thanks a lot!

Restore the ipod. If the problem perssist, you will need to take it to an Apple Store ASAP.

This happened one time before but a day later it was magically on again!

Sounds like it's time to bring your phone to Apple for evaluation

The bottom button on my iPod 4g is stuck in the down position.  It does not come up at all so I can't play or exit anything.  Any ideas on how to get this unstuck?

You can try the suggestions in the previous discussion.  However, since your iPod is still within its warranty period, make sure you do not so something that voids the warranty.  Why not make an appointment at the Genius Bar of an Apple store?

The center button on my 5th generation ipod is stuck in the down position - How can I fix this?

I'm not sure if there really is a way to "fix" it without diassembling the iPod in some manner.  Perhaps you find or use some sort of tool that can attach itself to the center botton and allow you to pull up to try and pop it out.  Kind of like the way a plunger works, but I don't know if you'll be able to find anything that small. :S
Perhaps it would be worth it to send the iPod to a third party service company who would be able to fix it at a pretty reasonable cost. A simple Google search for "iPod repair" should give you a number of results to work with.

My ipad mini is frozen in an app and the home button is stuck.  Pressing the wake/sleep button does not bring up the red slider to turn the ipad off. Is there any other way I can reset the ipad?  Can I remove the battery? and then put it back in?

No the battery is non removable.
Try a Reset  ( No Data will be Lost )
Press and Hold the Sleep/Wake Button and the Home Button at the Same Time...
Wait for the Apple logo to Appear...
Usually takes about 15 - 20 Seconds... ( But can take Longer...)
    Release the Buttons...

  • The locked button, is stuck ( broken) in down position

IiPod Nano top lock button is stuck, so can't switch it on or off or change the music, it about 18 mths old. Is there anything I can do.?

If you purchased Apple Care, call them and get a case number.  Otherwise, take the iPod Nano to an Apple store or an AASP.  Whichever is more convenient for you.

  • My iPod touch won't turn off. I tried and the turn off slide button in stuck in the of position, but it's still not turning off. It's been a few days please help!!!!

My white 4th generation iPod touchs turn of slide button is stuck on off but my iPod won't turn off for some reason and it only shuts off when the battery dies. It's been stuck like this for some time. Please please please help!!!!

First, try a system reset.  It cures many ills and it's quick, easy and harmless...
Hold down the on/off switch and the Home button simultaneously until the screen blacks out or you see the Apple logo.  Ignore the "Slide to power off" text if it appears.  You will not lose any apps, data, music, movies, settings, etc.
If the Reset doesn't work, try a Restore.  Note that it's nowhere near as quick as a Reset.  Connect via cable to the computer that you use for sync.  From iTunes, select the iPad/iPod and then select the Summary tab.  Follow directions for Restore and be sure to say "yes" to the backup.  You will be warned that all data (apps, music, movies, etc.) will be erased but, as the Restore finishes, you will be asked if you wish the contents of the backup to be copied to the iPad/iPod.  Again, say "yes."
Finally, if the Restore doesn't work, let the battery drain completely.  Then recharge for at least an hour and Restore again.

  • My home button is stuck down

How can I fix a home button that is stuck in the 'down' position?!?

I was looking for a solution outside of regular business hours, not some f**k with 2500 points to give me a stupid answer.
The nearest apple store is around 2 hours driving away.
Fortunately, the people on the tech support phone line are helpful.....and it's still covered. New phone on the way.

  • My screen is cracked and my home button is stuck down. Where can I get this fixed?

On my iPod touch 4th G my screen broke in the bottom right corner and there are spider cracks all the way up to the top of my iPod screen. Also, now my home button is stuck down; a shard of glass probably is preventing the button from popping back up. Where can I get this fixed?

Apple will exchange it for a refurbished one for $99, $149 or $199 depending up the capacity.

My home button is stuck so it cant work and when i am in the safari or app stire i dont know how to go back does anybody know how to get it un stuck?

a temporary fix is to hold down the power button until you see a bar that says "slide to power off". slide the bar and wait about 2 minutes+then holding the power button when screen goes blank for around a minute? your device should now turn back on. you will be at the home menu.
now to know how to fix the problem instead of avoiding it i am not sure. hope this temporarily fixed your problem
is your device still in a 1 year warranty?

  • My new iphone 5 screen does not rotate from portrait to landscape.  It is stuck in portrait.  I checked and its not locked (double clicked home button scrolled over and the circle arrow does NOT  have lock inside it).

My screen refuses to rotate (the home screen).  I already double clicked home button and scrolled over, the circle arrow does NOT have the lock inside it.  I went thru all the settings and can find nothing to try and fix this.  Do I need to send the phone back?  Is it broken?  I just got it yesterday.  It has not been damaged in any way.  Please help.

The home screen doesn't rotate to landscape mode.  Only apps do.
Good eye Rob, I didn't even catch that.

  • My keypad is stuck in the up position

my keypad is stuck in the up position.  How to I correct this?

Maybe I can save you a trip. Like you I had an iPhone 3g stuck with the Apple on. (My wife's phone.) It got stuck during a sync. I tried everything suggested on the Apple support forum and everywhere else. iTunes on two seperate computers would recognize my iPhone just fine but not hers which was stuck with the Apple on. Additionally pluggin her iPhone into a computer with iTunes running would freeze iTunes.
Nothing worked and I was about to give up and have to either (a) drive 3 hours to the nearest Apple store from which I bought the phone or (b) spend $300 for a new phone.
But finally the following worked for me! It is a matter of putting your iPhone in DFU mode (Device Firmware Update) mode. This worked for me:
Close iTunes. Plug iPhone into computer with the USB connect cable. Turn off your iPhone. Hold down the power and home button. When you see the Apple logo, release the power button but continue holding the home button down. Open iTunes and wait for it to tell you that its in restore mode.
At this point iTunes and my iPhone recognized each other and I was able to restore the firmware and salvage the previously dead phone.
Good luck, crosing my fingers that it works for you.

PS As noted above this was an iPhone 3g not the original iPhone but I hope it works for you.
