Home button recent contact list incorrect

When I double click my home button my recent contact log comes up across the top of the screen as intended. Recent Position 7 and 8 are flipped. Meaning, the last time I had contact with Sue was at 6:45 and the last time I had contact with Linda was at 9:45, yet Sue is listed in position 7 and Linda is in position 8. Has anyone else seen this issue?
When taking a closer look, Sue and I exchanged text messages and the times were a little off-

How to switch off Recents
Settings/Mail, Contact, Calendars
Scroll down to Contacts section
Select Show in App Switcher

"Recent contacts" list showing old contacts

I see a lot of questions about removing contacts from the new "recent contacts" list, and a lot of solutions saying to hide the list altogether. however, there is only one contact I want to remove from the list because they are not recent. I found one solution stating that you remove them, search for their phone number in messages, click the i and then click "remove from recent contacts" but this does not work because all messages, email, phone calls, and facetime from this contact was so old that it has already been purged (thus I don't get the i when I enter the phone number). This is a business contact, so I need to keep her number, but there are a lot more recent contacts from the past 3 months that I would rather have on my recent contacts list because they are recent. Is it a software glitch that she is still showing up on my recent contacts list? Is there any way to remove this contact specifically without hiding the list altogether?
using iOS 8 on iPhone 5 and iPad 3rd gen

It is standard that the personal list is not updated.
it is personal, you have to update it yourself.

I get recent contact lists from another device. I have two iPhones on my account and this is the first time I have ever shared recent contacts from separate contact lists.

How to clear "recent" contacts listed automatically as you type email addresses in

Hi everyone. When I go to type the address of an email I get as far as the first letter and a list of "recent" email addresses pops up, which is handy except for some reason the first one is a combination of two emails address, one I know and one I only vaguely recognise as possibly being a former student who might have been on a mailing list of mine at one time. This combo of emails addresses doesn't appear in my contact list or address book on its own, but since it shows up as I start typing my husband's email, I'm sure there has been a time or two where I've just selected it to autocomplete the address field, and ended up sending something probably embarrassingly personal to not just my husband but this other person as well. How do I go in and clear out my icloud's memory of past-sent emails? Any help or tips would be greatly appreciated. Thanks!

Making Groups in messaging and recent contacts list for sent messages !

I can't find any option for making groups for sending messages or getting list of recently sent messages to contacts. Every time I ve to scroll for contcts for multiple messaging or searching for contacts !
Is there any option for that ? Pls do let me know if so.

Old contacts showing up in siri and text search results but not in contacts list.

So what I did was this. I had mobile me, and iphone ocntacts as well as contacts on phone. After updating to IOS5, i had tripples of almost all my contacts (but not all). I converted my mobile me to icloud to discover i couldnt use that email under my new official icloud accoutn as my @me.com adress. So what i did was this. I deleted my old mobile me (now icloud account) compleatly from my phone, my iPad and my computer so there is no trace of it. I then went to my new iCloud account (that i will now use as my only icloud account. going to let the old mobile me one just die so i have 1 central spot for all my stuff). Now all my contacts are gone. So to start fresh and just be done with the confusion, i go to www.icloud.com and manually (by hand) re type in all my contacts. I updated some info and changed some names (like nicknames and stuff like that to real names). Basiclly compleatly organizing my contacts and such to the way i want them. Getting rid of poeple i no longer talk to and such. I did it, it syned and all was well. However now here is hte problem.
If i go to spotlight search, or text search, or search with siri, or any type of search function, all of my old contacts are still there and viewable. All the ones i wanted to get rid of are all still there. However, if i go to contacts and look for thoes old contacts, they are not in the contact list (yes iv checked every "group" and also "all contacts" in groups). What i want is to figure out how to get all of these old contacts compleatly deleated so they dont show up anywere on my phone. Especially with siri its making searches and auto calling more difficult because its finding two contacts sometimes that are the same person and asks me to distinguish instead of jsut calling. CAn anybody help?
Sorry for the wall of text, wanted to make sure to give as much info on the specifics as possible so hopefully i can get this resolved. Is this a bug or something i did wrong? can i fix it or do i just have to wait for an update?

Iv since upgraded to iphone 4S and still happening. Also this does NOT happen on my iPad. Only my iPhone.

Nokia 5800 - the contact list doubles in size by d...

I own a Nokia 5800,
After updating firware from v11 to v20,
i started facing a weird problem.
from the home screen when i press the contacts button, the contact list comes up as expected,
but after about half a sec, all the contacts gets doubled( i.e. 2 copies of each contacts exist).
It doesnt happen everytime, but once it happens the only solution i found was to delete all the contacts, and copy them back from the memory card which i had backed up.
and in the options->settings, i have set it to display contacts only from "phone memory",
and not from "sim memory" and "service nums".. so problem is not with displaying contacts from 2 sources.
Also i have abt 420 contacts, so the sim cant hold these many( limits to 127 contacts).. so its not coming from my sim.
my 420 contacts is becoming 840 contacts.
Additional info:
If i delete one copy of the contact, both the copies gets deleted.
and also when a contacts makes a call to my phone, her name appears..( This doesnt happen if the same number exists more than once in the list)
Any1 has any solution to this problem or any idea as to why its happening??

21.0.025 firmware is available only in specific countries.( My country is INDIA)
i used tat wireless update feature to updgrade from 20.0.012 to 21.0.025.
(press *#0000# , u'll get some screen with s/w info, then goto options > then select check for updates.)
U'll need wifi / gprs for tat.
or u can give ur fone to nokia care and ask them to update it to the latest firmware availbale.

I moved an old contact list over, when I edit the iPhone list does not alphabetize. How do I fix it?

The contacts app on your phone should automatically alphabitize the list, either by first or last name depending on your setting in Settings>Mail,Contacts,Calendars>Sort Order. If it isn't doing this, some things you can try include:
Change the Sort Order setting then change it back
Force close the Contacts app: double-tap the home button, locate Contacts, swipe up on the image above the app icon to close it, tap the home button again
Reset your phone: hold the power and home buttons at the same time until you see the Apple logo, then release

Siri and contacts list

In the interest of improving Siri's accuracy when it comes to finding one of my contacts, is there any way of focussing its attention down to just one group in my address book. I have two groups - "people I call" and "everyone". Everyone includes archived entries but also things and organisations that I have no need to call. However if I ask Siri to call someone it looks globally. There is also "favorites" - how does this play into things, e.g. is there some algorithm in Siri that says "if I'm not sure of a match I'll show a preference to favorite entries".

Get back previous contact list

I synced my phone on Friday with my computer and by accident I had it bring back my previous contact list. How do I re-sync to get back the most recent contact list that I have added to?

It is simply multiple entries, as you have no doubt read about, for example if you entered all your wifes numbers just to your wifes name, but as individual details they would work. So say the contact is Wife, select option edit, add detail, then you can have Mobile , home and work numbers all attached to that one contact, and caller id will work, as long as you don't have several of her work colleagues as contacts with the same works number, the failure of caller id is always due to a conflict, as the phone can only identify the number (the incoming info) and if that is attached to more than one person it just gives out the number.
To resolve the problem you need to find and remove the conflicts !

Cannot select Contact/Group from Recent Contacts L...

A group contact in my Recent Contacts list cannot be selected.
A few days ago, a group call was held and I missed the initial requests. The 3rd request I accepted. However, the contact list entry still lists it as 2 "new" events, and attempting to click on the name results in the previous (current) selection being selected again. RIght click can be performed, but it applies to the previous selection.
Browsing through the contact list results in the problem entry being skipped over as if it didn't exist.
Logging into Skype on another machine does not encounter this issue. My guess is that the local information has become desync-ed from the Skype server for this single entry. Is there way to resolve this without re-installing? I tried some searches but was not able to find any similar reports.
Running Skype for Desktop 6.21 on Windows 8.1. Skype for Windows 8 is not configured due to a need to keep my Windows login separate from my Skype contact info due to work reasons.
Hope there's someone out there with an idea!

IPod 4G Home Button Jammed?

My iPod Home Button recently got SUPER jammed into my iPod. It started out as not that bad, I could still push it, but I just had to use a little effort, but it's gotten so terrible that now I can't even push it. It's not like it's non-responsive because it works if I push it hard enough, but it's absolutely awful to try and push it in and I'm worried that it will keep getting more and more jammed and eventually not work. Is there any sort of way to fix this? I know my warranty on the iPod is up, even though I only got it in January. I don't have a ton of money to go get it fixed... If there's not a way to repair it, is there at least some sort of app or software I can download that will allow me to exit apps without using the home button? Thanks in advance...

However, yu Ipod shuld still be within the one-year warranty period. I wold make an appointment at the Genius Bar of an Apple store or call AppleCare.

Recent Contacts - How many email addresses are kept?

How many email addresses are kept on the recent contacts list? Can't find this listed anywhere.

I assume you are referring to it physically putting another separate contact in Address Book, and not the autofill list when typing an address into a new message window.
Mail does not have an option to add addresses from email to the address book automatically. The fact that you say it happens with the Exchange account and not the other accounts indicates that it's an exchange account problem.
Are you syncing the exchange account contact list with apple's address book? If so, you might take another look to the exchange account for something there.

Deactivate "Pause Workout"-Button when Home Button is pressed

Hej,
I have an annoying problem with my iPod Touch and Nike+. I like the spoken feedback of the Nike+ Application. Thus I press quite often the Home Button while running. Unfortunately, when I do that, a clickable button appears even though the keys are locked. Somehow my leg (or my pants) press the button and as a result pause my workout. Thats really annoying since I have to get the iPod out of the pocket to let the workout resume on the iPod.
So... how can I deactivate that button?
P.S. This button is similar to the ipod controls when you press the Home-Button twice while listing to music during activated key-locks.

Have you tried a hard reset of the iPod yet? To do this, press and hold both the Sleep/Wake and Home buttons together long enough for the Apple logo to appear.
It might be a good idea to do this while your iPod touch is hooked up to an external power source.

Sometimes this can happen if a high priority process is dominating CPU use and your iPad cannot respond to the Home button use.
Have you tried restarting or resetting your iPad?
Restart: Press On/Off button until the Slide to Power Off slider appears, select Slide to Power Off and, after It shuts down, press the On/Off button until the Apple logo appears.
Reset: Press the Home and On/Off buttons at the same time and hold them until the Apple logo appears (about 10 seconds).
No data will be lost.
If this doesn't work the problem could be due to a hardware problem with the Home button. Contact Apple Support or visit an Apple Store for evaluation.
