Home Electricity Issues - IP Profile Lowered

Hi,
We have been experiencing some issues with the electricity in our house today. An electrician has been round and it should all be fixed first thing tomorrow morning. Because of this the home hub/Openreach modem has been on and off randomly all day...
Our IP Profile has been at around 38000 ever since we had BT Infinity installed, however today I notice it has dropped to around 23000.
How do we go about getting it put back to normal profile? It's quite a drop considering our line is capable of sustaining the higher profile, as it has for the last 3-4 months!
Many thanks

By the sound of it, it is to late for switching off. The work is finished in the morning
All the op can do is , when the work has finished to keep it running, and hope the IP profile rises. That's not guaranteed though

My wife's brand new iphone4 (which was a replacement for a 4month-old iphone4 with home button issues) is not recognized by itunes. Every other ios device on  the computer/Apple ID in question is recognized and syncs perfectly. Any suggestions?

If the new phone has already been setup, make sure the phone and iTunes are both set to the same account.
You might also have to authorize this computer for the new device under the store menu.

  • More Home Share Issues

Been browsing all the home share issues here but not seeing this symptom. I have 4 comps on the same wired network. Upgraded all to the newest itunes and activated home share with the same account on all...sharing options all checked and turned on.
This issue is on one of the 4 comps. I can see the other 3 home share libraries, but when I click on one it says "loading xxx library" but then after a few seconds the window goes back to the music library on that computer...it never shows the other libraries on any of the other home share comps. I can access the folders on those machines directly over the network...even can play the songs on them using Tunes as the music player. But I can not get those libraries to show up from the home share function.
Any ideas out there ?. I don't even know what to tinker with at this point.

Same issue for me. 3 pc's running iTunes 9.0.1, two on Vista and one on XP. My daughter's PC (running Vista) can see the other libraries on the Home Share but clicking on it only briefly shows my Library and then the focus returns to her Library. Additionally she can no longer connect to the iTunes store as the progress bar simply stalls at around 50% when clicking on the iTunes store icon.
No internet issues from her laptop - she's able to do everything (and see our network) as she always has been.

  • Having issues with profile manager on 10.9 loosing users/device assignments.

I'm having issues with profile manager on 10.9 loosing users/device assignments. Luckly I only have arround 70 devices added so far. The first time it happened I thought it was just a freak thing, but it has just happened again. What I find weird is nothing on the server was changed, no devices added. So when this happens my users phones lose access to email, because I'm using variables, which rely on the user being assigned to the device. Anyone know how to fix this, and if not. Does anyone know how to backup and restore just profile manager in 10.9. Thanks.

I enabled all users in my AD "Domain Users" group access to "Profile Manager". I had also initially enabled "Profile Manager" access for a few individual users. Those users did not loss the device assignments. I'm not absolutely sure why/if allowing access for a group is causing this issue. Enabling access for each person would be very time consuming.... Maybe adding access to the individual users is importing that user into OD?

  • Apple TV Home Sharing Issue (SOLVED for me)

I had been having problems with Home Sharing while other functions (Netflix etc) worked fine.  My setup is wireless using Time Capsule.  My network was "open" (password not needed).  I had tried everything from recycling my DSL modem and Time Capsule and turning Home Sharing off and on (on my computer and the Apple TV) without success.
My Time Capsule has the ability to connect at 5GHz or 2.4GHz.  Additionally, my networks may or may not be password protected.  I finally changed to a network that required a password and my Home Shareing issue ended.  Since that network change everything works fine.

I was going crazy trying to play music from my Itunes library and watch slideshows of my photos as, once started, the application would quit within a minute of starting. I called Apple Support and tried everything they sughgested - restart, restore etc. Finally, I turned my router off and let it reset. When I turned it back on. everything worked. I could have saved a lot of aggravation had I been instructed to do so originally.

  • Ipad 3rd generation, iOS 8, home button issue, with fix

I have seen a lot of iOS 8 home button issues on phones but not much on the iPad.  But I started having problems right away.  Clicking would not get be back to the home screen.  Clicking did not get me out of program.  It was all intermittent too.
I found a good you tube video about ipad home button issues. First I tried recalibrating the home button.  You hold the power switch down till you get the slider to turn off the iPad.  then let go and hold down the home button till the screen changes.  that seemed to fix most of the problems for a couple hours.  But then it came back.
Next tried putting a drop of isopropyl Alcohol on my finger tip and pushed down and up on the outside edge of the home button, all around the circumference.  Then did the cal again.  That seems to have worked permanently.
iOS 8 is still slow but I guess everyone has that on anything older than a year.

Like I said, I was aware it was possible to access the apps through the finder, but the question revolved around how to recover the quick launch app icons for certain vanished apps.
Wow, kind of a snotty response to someone who was taking their own time to offer help.  Whether you thought it was helpful or not, didn't deserve such an unkind retort.  Maybe when you realize we all just users here trying to help others like you, who have issues and we don't get anything in return for the countless hours some people here spend offering that assistance, you'll maybe be a little less quick to be critical.
    Just sayin.......
Oh and Meg offered the right answer.  Put your Apps in Folders, which will create extra space for the apps which have disappeared.

  • Potential Solution: Home Sharing issues with iTunes 10.6

TL;DR: On a hunch, I changed the power settings of the ATV to never sleep. Since then, I have not had any issues. Granted, it's only been a couple of days, but it seems to have done the trick.
    Folks,
Wanted to share my experience with Home Sharing issues after upgrading to iTunes 10.6. These forums a rampant with reports of the issue, so I'll defer to the search field above if you don't know what I am talking about. In short: iTunes 10.6 seems to have busted Home Sharing.
For those who do, here's what I found:
For some reason, is saw a very large number of established sessions from my Apple TV (ATV) into port 3689 on my Mac. This is the port that ATV uses to query iTunes to see what's available via Home Sharing (e.g.: what movies, songs, pictures, etc are available for display on the ATV).
A sniffer cap and some observation of the power indicator on the ATV indicated that while it was sleeping, the ATV was querying iTunes. It would power on for a sec (wake on LAN, maybe?), issue some queries, then sleep.
When this happened, the TCP sessions created were never town down. As such, I would eventually see 200+ established sessions on port 3689. I don't know exactly how many it took to make this happen, but when I saw this, iTunes stopped accepting new connections.
Of course, bouncing iTunes would remedy the issue for a while, but it would return.
On a hunch, I changed the power settings of the ATV to never sleep. Since then, I have not had any issues. Granted, it's only been a couple of days, but it seems to have done the trick.
I would be interested to hear if it works for others.
    Happy viewing,
    Chris

    Thanks for posting this.
I've been searching for an option of how to approach this problem.
I picked up the new AppleTV when it was released, but it has made iTunes fairly useless from a Home Sharing standpoint.
I also observed the massive number of TCP connections being opened against iTunes, but never closed.
As expected, I could manually kill a few of these connections, and then could connect again, even without closing iTunes.
I performed most of my testing with Windows 7, but while troubleshooting I had the same issue with iTunes on an old Mac Mini I had sitting around.
I will try your solution, which makes a lot of sense, but it would be nice if Apple fixed the real problem.
    Thanks again.

  • IP Profile lowered AGAIN

Hey guys, little help or advice would be appreciated.
I got Infinity installed in February of this year and since then the IP profile has been lowered a good four times at a rate of about 10mbps per time. I've gone from solid 75-80mbps on the day of installation to the current 38mbps, each time being told that "this is the maximum your line can support".
I found it strange that they had to continuously change the IP profile and why they couldn't just know what my line could support. I've not had many disconnects at all, only one actual issue with the connection which was an area-wide thing I believe, so I'm not sure why it keeps happening.
    Any help or advice?

No offence John but I know exactly how the guy feels BT should really think about getting this DLM issue fixed because I have the same with my connection all the time it can be running at a nice steady 27500kbps downstream and a good 14ms ping, 0 jitter and then I get one little power cut over night and bam straight back down to 22000kbps, witrh a ping of 32ms, to be honest it gets write on my nerves and then your told you have to wait another 3 weeks for it to increase again and then what happens if you get another power cut 3 days after your line has normalised again?. Back down again, that is what happens, to be honest its really anoying this DLM business, it should get sorted!. I carnt help it because I get alot of mini power cuts around my area so there is nothing I can do apart from spend £140 on a back up adapter that will stop the issue. I need a battery back up power adapter pack supply but at this moment I am not willing to pay alot of money for something that is not my fault, BT should sort the issue out!!!. And please John bud, if I see that statement one more time about DLM I am going to top myself!.

    Good Afternoon Everyone,
I am not technologically savvy as a result I'm having trouble understanding previous posts on "The user profile service service failed to logon user profile cannot be loaded." Lingo on domain reset etc, not sure that this pertains to solving my  issue
... I cant even get pass the sign in page let alone make changes. I am having this issue with my Dell Studio XPS 1340 with Windows 7 Home Premium. If anyone can provide their two cents I would greatly appreciate.
    Very Respectfully,

Home Premium cannot logon to a Domain, nor can it be set to try it.
when you get the logon window, try hitting the three-finger salute )Ctrl+Alt+Del) twice – it may bring up the old-style login window – enter your credentials there.

  • Line Profile lowering for no reason.

Over the past 3 weeks my line profile has dropped from 77.44 to 70.33 and now is at 65.35.
My line has no noise and there is nothing extra running that could could cause the drop.
I use only one PC that is wired by ethernet cat6 to the router.
Reseting the router does not help.
I think that the fault is in the cabinet,as the DLM is not picking up any faults from my line because I have not had any power problems or noise on the line.
Imo.DLM is being set to lower my profile for no reason that makes any sense.
    Solved!
    Go to Solution.

The vector trial is only good for peeps that live rite next to the cabinet like 100m or so, anywhere beyond that, its not going to happen and the question is how many people actually live that close to the cabs around the uk. I would say most are beyond that, BT should look at achieveing better speeds for the houses that live further away and not concentrating on everyone that lives next to the Fibre cabs for faster throughput, its just a cheap easy methord for Openreach/BT to look like they are doing something!. Think of the poor buggers that suffer with low speeds cause they live so far away, not just the ones that get low fibre speeds and low ADSL speeds but also the ones that have not even got a broadband connection yet and some are probably still on the 56K Dial Up, that is my issue with BT!!!. BT please leave the 70/10MB+ peeps alone, they dont need help, concentrate on the lower figures around the country and do something special for them!.

  • I am having major Home Sharing issues (disrupting WiFi)

Have done a lot of research on the particular issues Im having and can only find discussions on problems slightly tangential to mine.
Beginning about a week ago whenever I would use home sharing on my iPad or iPhone (streaming through my Mac Pro desktop an an Airport Extreme) the file I would be playing would pause erratically and then start up again.  It would get really bad if I listened to one of the larger files (I download radio show podcasts) and try to jump to the middle of the program - every time the file would just pause and not play and then jump to the next file on the playlist and just hang.
Furthermore, it totally screws up my WiFi....I would have to reset my extreme to get the signal to stop behaving erratically.  I read through tons of posts and tried earlier versions of airport software, resetting my wifi settings, reste my router etc...but all to no avail.
Im a little surprised that Im the only one having this issue since it seems so basic....I turn on home sharing, start using it and bam -- all these wifi issues just start happening.
Anyone able to point me in the right direction for a solution?   Because it is driving me crazy....

you could be suffering from wireless interference.
perhaps one of your neighbor's wireless networks is interfering with yours. download iStumbler and note the channels other networks in the vicinity are broadcasting on.
change the channel your network is using as far away as possible from those.

  • Partial home sharing issue between 3 devices...

  • Home Sharing issues with Windows PCs

I've had an Apple TV2 for over a year.  It has been working fine with no issues at all.  I use an old laptop running WinXP as my "media server" and it has worked fine up until the last few of months.
Progressively, over the last 2-4 months it has become less reliable when trying to access content on iTunes on it.  The laptop itself has otherwise been reliable.  It is just the Apple TV talking to it that has been not.  Sometimes it works fine, other times as I go through the menus I get 'Loading "library"...' for up to a couple of minutes and it then drops out.
The first time it started becoming unreliable was shortly after a Windows Update.  I rolled back the update with System Restore and it went back to working well.  I didn't have another problem until I applied the latest set of Windows Updates (a month or so later, hoping the issues had been fixed).  Again, it broke, so I rolled back.  Last week after it has been running well, Windows crashed and when it recovered AppleTV/iTunes wasn't working again.  I tried applying Windows Updates again.  No luck.  I rolled back to before the crash.  No luck. I tried updating to iTunes 10.6.  No luck.  I uninstalled iTunes (and all the other Apple software) and reinstalled.  It was still flakey. Disabling the firewall makes no difference.
I then blew the whole machine away, restored to factory configuration, and installed iTunes again.  It is still unreliable.
I have MacBook Pro running OS X 10.6.8 and iTunes 10.6.  It works with the Apple TV with no problems at all.  All my content plays fine. So I don't believe it is my Apple TV or the network.  (All three devices, Apple TV, MBP and Windows laptop are on a wired Ethernet network 100Mbps.)
I just installed iTunes on my Acer Netbook which is running Windows 7 Starter and it has the same unreliability issues as the laptop.
These seems to suggest it is an iTunes/Windows problem – but why am I the only one?
I should add that I can play some content on the Apple TV from either the laptop or the netbook.  It might work the first time, even the second time but eventually it just fails. For example, last night we started to watch something on the Apple TV from the library on the WinXP laptop.  It played fine for the first 4 minutes and then it just dropped out.
It doesn't matter what content I try.  Sometime music works, sometimes it doesn't.  Sometimes iTunes purchased TV shows or movies work, sometimes they don't. Sometimes home made content (FCP X) works, sometimes it doesn't.
Additionally, the laptop and netbook show up in the SHARED area of iTunes on the MBP.  I see similar results form there. I can sometimes connect to the laptop or netbook and play content but eventually it fails and the device disappears from SHARED.  It eventually comes back, though.
Interestingly, iTunes on the laptop and the netbook don't show any other SHARED devices, even though I have "Share Libraries" ticked in preferences on all three. I also don't see the Apple TV sharing icon on iTunes on the laptop or netbook but I do see it on the MBP (and my iPod and iPad).
I also have a Windows 7 64-bit laptop and I installed 64-bit iTunes 10.6 on it, but I can't even log into the iTunes store form it (unknown error 0x80092013) which appears to be a common problem of late.
I have tried everything I can think of to get it working and am hoping someone might have some ideas on how to debug the issues.

Solved - at least all good so far.
I had to add rules to my firewall software (Symantec Endpoint Protection) for Bonjour (UDP 5353) and DAAP (TCP 3689).  Once I did that, the other librares were shown in SHARING and the Apple TV reliably connects.
What I don't understand was why it worked at all without the rules in place.

  • Home Sharing Issues iOS6

I'm having an issue it seems with Home Sharing on my iPhone 5 after recently upgrading to iOS6 v6.1.2.  My network setup is as follows:  I have a 1TB TimeCapsule which is my WiFi access point in addition to storing my iTunes library.  My iMac is connected to the TC via Ethernet.  Wirelessly I have two Windows-based laptops, ATV (2nd gen), an iPad2, a BlackBerry Torch, iPhone 4S and iPhone5.  Until recently, all of my Apple devices were able to access my iTunes library over the WiFi using Home Sharing.  As of now, only my ATV and iPad2 are able to.  When I try to connect with the iPhones, I get an error stating "Cannot Connect to Media Library" about halfway through the connection attempt (little progress circle fills in halfway then stops).  My version of iTunes is 11.0.2.
I have tried resetting everything on the entire network including my cable modem, the TimeCapsule (upgraded to latest firmware), even going so far as to do a restore on the iPhone 5 in an effort to get Home Sharing working again.  Nothing I have tried has worked.  I've siged out of Home Sharing on the iMac and all devices...rebooted...no change.  The option to select my shared library is seen in the iPhone 5 but it just won't connect.  This is extremely frustrating as I often have my iPhone streaming from my iTunes library while I'm in other areas of the house.  For now I've resorted to using Pandora but would really like to have access to my music library.
Is anyone else having this or very similar issues?  I see several posts about Home Sharing but most are older and don't seem specific to the iPhone 5 or iOS 6...regardless, the suggestions in any of those posts didn't solve the problem either.

I am having the same issue.  Same hardware, same OS, same circle stopping halfway through.  When I do get it to connect it doesn't last forever.  I ran an experiment and found that the connection drops when I try to use my bluetooth speaker.  If I am streaming from Pandora the connection is fine, no drop.  But apparently it doesn't play nice with the shared library connection?  Does bluetooth interfere with wifi?

  • Home Sharing issues with iPhone 6 Plus

    Hi guys,
I'm having problems with streaming music and video on my iPhone 6 plus from my Macbook Pro (mid 2010 model) using iTunes' Home Sharing . I am able to stream without any issues using my iPhone 4S and my Apple TV, however.
I am using iTunes version 12.0.1.26, iOS 8.1.2, and OSX 10.9.5.
Using my 6 plus, I am able to connect to my iTunes library, both music and video. Album art shows up for music but no cover art for the videos. So, all in all, I am able to see the contents of my library.
However, when I try to play songs, a couple things may happen. First, nothing plays for about 10 seconds; then a second or two of the song plays followed by silence again, appearing as if it's buffering. Second thing that may happen is that a second or two plays immediately followed by silence. If I press next to play the next song, what usually happens is that nothing plays, although the song title does appear.
As seen in this video, I don't have any issues with my WIFI connection or internet speed, as demonstrated using the iPhone 4S and Apple TV.
I have no clue as to why this is happening.
Hopefully someone could shed some light with this issue. Please feel free to comment. I'm open to and appreciate any suggestions while Apple tries to find a solution. Thanks.

    UPDATE
So, after working with the guys at Apple, they we were to provide a solution.  Now I have no problems using Home Sharing with my iPhone 6 Plus!!!
(I should add that I have the Linksys Advanced Dual-Band N Router (E2500))
The issue was fixed by giving one of the wi-fi channels a different name, thus splitting the channels into 2.4 GHz and 5 GHz.  Then, I connected my iPhone to one channel (2.4 GHz) and my MacBook Pro to the other channel (5GHz).  In this configuration, I have had no issues streaming my music and video.
It seems that the problem is some kind of interference between both devices when using the same channel (i.e., when both the 2.4 GHz and 5 GHz channel share the same name).
