"Home" Folder doesn't show

Hi,
I had formatted my macbook pro with mac lion OSX installed from usb drive and everything went well except the major issue that I am unable to see "Home" folder with house icon in finder sidebar. Infact, application icon also couldnt be seen in dock. Tried formatting system several times but in vain

VIP folder doesn't show emails on Mavericks

My VIP folder doesn't show any VIP mail in my inbox. They're there but VIP folder doesn't work. I've no rules in Mail.app or in iCloud. Re-building or re-indexing doesn't work. I can access to the folder, but it's empty. I've my Mac fully updated. It works on my iPhone, but not on my Mac.

Quit Mail. Force quit if necessary.
Back up all data. That means you know you can restore the Mail database, no matter what happens.
Triple-click anywhere in the line below on this page to select it:
~/Library/Mail/V2/MailData
Copy the selected text to the Clipboard by pressing the key combination command-C. In the Finder, select
Go ▹ Go to Folder
from the menu bar. Paste into the box that opens (command-V), then press return.
A folder window will open. Inside it there should be files with names as follows:
Envelope Index
ExternalUpdates.storedata
Move those files to the Desktop, leaving the window open. Other files in the folder may have longer names that begin as above. Move those files, if any, to the Trash.
Log out and log back in. Relaunch Mail. It should prompt you to re-import your messages. You may get a warning that the index is damaged and that Mail has to quit. Click OK. Typically, the process takes a few minutes, but it may take hours if you have gigantic mailboxes. In that case, you may be able to speed things up by temporarily adding your home folder to the Privacy list in the Spotlight preference pane. Remove it when Mail has finished importing.
Test. If Mail now works as expected, you can delete the files you moved to the Desktop. Otherwise, post your results.

Photos that were synced from a computer won't show for copying to a computer. If you want to copy them back then you will need a third-party app on your phone such as Simple Transfer which can copy them off via your wifi network. But photos are 'optimised' when they are synced to a device, any that you then copy back to a computer may not be exactly the same as they originally were on your computer (e.g. their dimensions might be different and their colours may look a bit different).

CRS 10.1 with Endeca 3.1.1 -home page doesn't show image and promo products

Thanks to this forum and especially cmore I'm close to setting up my local dev environment, but still have something to resolve.
I have ATG 10.1.2 + CRS + Endeca 3.1.1. I installed BCC with Staging and Production (switchable) stores.
The problem is with Production CRS - both US Store and Home Store don't show image and promoted products on Home page.
What I see below Top Category pane is empty square. Unlike Production, home page on Stage works fine - I see homepage_promo_storeSiteUS_en_anonymous.png and promoted products.
I think the problem is not related to Endeca, as I currently connect both Stage and Prod to the same Endeca CRS, I also believe that issue is not related to configuration - I tried to run production with Stage configuration, and it changed nothing. I believe the issue is somewhere in data (DB) - but I did full deployment for Prod and it didn't help. I verified targeters and slots on Prod through ACC, and they looks fine. So don't know at this point what to do next.
While doing full deploy I see some errors in the log which might be related to the issue, But the same errors I see on Stage as well and still Stage works without issues:

Last update: I compared Stage and Prod home pages HTML code, and notice that the first difference between two pages is absence of endeca-slot Div, the below code present on Stage, and is Not present on Prod:

After some analysis and experiments:
Most likely the issue is with Scenarios. HomeTheme Slot is populated by Theme scenario.
For some reason the slot remains empty on "bad" environment. On "good" environment the slot contain promo content item after the first call of the slot. I checked respective targeter and promo content item, and they look OK, so I believe something wrong with Scenarios.

The 'Library' folder that supposed to show up in my "home" folder is not showing up.

If you click on your mac HD icon and go into the 'users' folder. Ther eis an icon with a house. This is what I think is called the 'home' folder. Usually, there is a folder in the 'Home' folder called 'Library' and I cant seem to locate it. Where did it go?

It's hidden. To unhide it open the Terminal application in your Utilities folder. At the prompt paste the folloing command line:
chflags nohidden ~/Library
Press RETURN.

My BB accidently disconnected from the usb cord while I was copying a music file. Now the computer wont let me use it. The Blackberry usb folder doesn't show anymore. How do I fix that?

My phone is connected because you can see the phone is charging but there is nothing on the conputer showing me that i can access the files on my blackberry. I noticed right after the accident a Blackbery( L: ) file appeared on the 'my computer' folder with nothing in it- it was there without the usb connection from my phone(well, the connection to my pc from my phone didnt work from then on anyway). I thought it was peculiar so i deleted it. I was having second thoughts so i tried to retrieve it but its not in the Recycle Bin. How do I fix this problem, please help me!

Top Level folder doesn't show lowver level pictures - Lightroom2

I have my pictures stored by year and location on a hard drive    example

    Heaven
       April
    Hell
         April
As I remember each upper level would show the counte of sub folders which allowed me to do sorts on ratings and the like
Now only the bottom most folder has the count..

I tried importing everything into a new catalog with np luck.. ONly the bottom most folers seems to have the count
how did I break it??

You have to enable include photos in subitems (I think that was the name) in one of the menus in Library.

Home tab doesn't show up

I've been able to download apps to my desktop using the Creative Cloud app. But no home panel (menu bar) is showing up --any ideas --help would be greatly appreciated.

Are you using the latest update of the Creative Cloud?If not, then I would suggest that you uninstall the Creative Cloud software, download the updated version and install the Creative Cloud application manager.
You should see the Creative Cloud manager look like this. You can click on the "Gear" icon in the upper right and select Preferences to turn on the OS Notifications for updates.

Home sharing doesn't show up in music

I last used home sharing about a week ago, and I decided to play my library threw my ipad and it has decided to not show my home sharing in the music app. My home sharing works perfictly in the remote app. I dont know if whats up and I dont personaly know any one with an ipad, for help.

I understand. When you home share using the iPad, you are able to play the music (or videos using the videos app) on you iPad directly. The sound will come through the iPad and the video appear on the iPad. The remote app is exactly what it sounds like it would be - a remote control to play the music library on the computer. The sound goes through the computer, not the iPad.
Did you turn on Home Sharing on the PC? In iTunes on the PC - Did you go to Edit>Preferences>Sharing>Share my library on my local network>Share Entire Library?

Parent folder doesn't show the number of pics in subfolders

I organized my pictures in folders like this: Bilder/2014/Examples until today I've seen the number of all pictures in the subfolders behind "Bilder" now there is 0 although all pics are still there. What happened?

[SOLVED] Home folder full & can't figure out why (MBs not matching up)

/home (as a partition) is 5GB and completely full... however, XFE, emelfm2, and PCManFM all see the home "folder" as being between 1.3GB and 1.8GB full... I am under the impression that I have a ghost file SOMEWHERE that even root can't properly detect, as it's not making any sense. What tools can I use to figure out why my /home partition is full?
Note: XFE, when checking the properties of the home partition vs home folder, it also shows the partition as full and the contents of the folder as 1.5GB or so. I can't shut down the computer, as I'm transferring large files from one flash drive to another (and my /tmp is on another partition and is 1% full out of 3.8GB. The comand 'df' returns that the partition is full as well... all tools, whether accessed via root or user, are telling me contradicting things: partition full, folder 40%(ish) and it's driving me mad! Any and all help is, and will be, GREATLY appreciated!
SOLUTION:
installed ncdu from repos, used command 'ncdu /home' and found which folder was the culprit... I had a large transfer going overnight that wasn't going when I got back in the morning, so the disk wasn't at 100% when I got back (not sure why any space was taken up by the transfer since the tmp folder is NOT in /home and the transfer wasn't to or from /home, but that may be an issue for another day).

What methods are available to fix a corrupted home folder (TM doing full backups)

I have been having issues with Time Machine doing full back ups repeatedly to my Time Capsule (ME177LL/A) with no major file changes.
I have followed everything in Pondini's guide including full resets. I have narrowed it down to the problem being a corrupted home folder, because after creating a new account and doing a initial backup, then pasting four copies of a 7mb PDFs in a few folders in the new account (documents, downloads, music, video), I tried backing up with TM with my original account's home folder excluded, TM backed up only 28mb - which are the 4 PDFs.

Fixing a corrupted home folder doesn’t seem possible, unfortunately. The only workaround is to create a new user account, copy the contents from the old home folder to the new one, then delete the old account and home folder.
See Transferring files from one User Account to another for instructions.
You can copy sub-folders you created that way, but you can't copy the automatically-created and required "default" sub-folders, such as Desktop, Documents, Downloads, etc., that way. You'll have to copy the sub-folders within those folders, so it will get rather tedious. Be very careful -- it's easy to miss things in that process.
Now, I am wondering if I should go ahead and follow this guide by Pondini on how to transfer all my files manually: http://pondini.org/OSX/Transfer.html I am hesitant as it seems fairly easy to mess up and miss files and folders.
Are there any other methods as to how I could fix the corrupted user? I am not having any other issues with my Macbook Air (mid 2012) that I know of.
Could I use this method (http://www.cnet.com/uk/how-to/how-to-rebuild-a-user-account-in-os-x/) as instructed by CNET instead? It seems much easier and I would not be missing files/folders.
I've researched online for quite a while and have not been able to find a fool-proof way of fixing a corrupted user home folder. I have a 512GB SSD drive on my MBA and only 40GB remaining. I'm not even sure how I could copy/paste and not delete the original files before I get the new user account running and working for sure. Hence the CNET's method seems rather appealing but I would really appreciate if anyone who has experience can confirm that it works (or some other method) before I proceed.

I would make a clone backup first. This way you have a copy of your data that is bootable.
Once you create your clone and create your new User, you can delete your current corrupt User. Make sure the problem PDFs copied over. If not, move those files into Shared folder.
You could use the to copy your data over to a new User rather than going through Shared. I would not advice the CNET option. Copying from a clone is very similar to going to shared but you actually copy the data directly into the folders so it's is less likely to mess things up.
TIP: Enable the User's Library folder before making the clone. If you need to copy data from the User's Library it needs to be visible.

Home folder on Skype - how to delete items

My home folder on skype shows a lot of titles of tunes with dancing music notes - when I click on them My profile page pops up. How do I get rid of thes items ??

If you switched always show bookmarks bar to off, you should not be seeing any bookmarks in the bookmarks bar. If you want to keep the bookmarks bar, but remove some of the bookmarks in it .....
Tap the bookmarks icon and then tap Bookmarks bar. Tap Edit in the upper right corner of that window, tap the red line in a circle icon to the left of the bookmark, then tap Delete when it pops up. Or just swipe across the bookmark and the delete button pops up,
Tap done when you are finished.

HOME FOLDER not in Macintosh HD USERS FOLDER

My Home Folder does not show in USERS folder within Macintosh HD. The only folder in Macintosh HD is Shared.
The Home Folder does show up in Places and all files are still there.
How do I have the Home Folder and its icon show up in Macintosh HD under Computer

Why doesn't my library folder show up in my home folder?

I suddenly realized that my library folder does not show up in my home folder. I can find items in the folder if I search for them, and if I navigate upwards I can see the Library folder. But if I do anything else, the folder disappears from my home folder. As an experiment, I duplicated the folder to my deskptop. It appears to have duplicated (I can search for items and the finder located them) but the folder is invisible on the desktop. If, however, I navigate to the Library from within an FontBook it is visible, otherwise not. Any ideas?

For Lion: To find the Home folder in OS X Lion, open the Finder, hold the Option key, and choose Go > Library
Not a good idea to move system folders !!!!
