Home folder got nested, how to move up a level within Users folder

So I went to change my short name from scott1n to scott using https://discussions.apple.com/docs/DOC-3872 and let's say it didn't go well. At first when I logged into the account it opened up as if it were a new account. I went back and tried to reverse it but that didn't work. Long story short, some how my User folder got nested into a new user folder that I guess I made during this process. I had to use the Advanced Options in the Users & Groups to point the home folder to the nested folder. This now works and I can get to all my data and such but I don't like how it is nested. It is currently: Users/scott/scott1n. Is there a way to move that up one level without copying everything? Once I do that, I assume I can just point to it again like I did before in the User & Groups setting? Thanks!

The small partition (50 GB) also has the System, Applications, Developer and Library folders. I would like to move my Documents, Pictures, etc folders from this small partition to the 200 GB partition, preferably without losing too much performance. Does it work just to physically copy them to the other partition and then delete from the Users folder, or does that create problems? Yes, if you're talking about CCC, then file level is all you can do copying from the drive you'r booted from, but normally best anyway as the copied files will be unfragmented.
When failures occur, I presume they are due mainly to mechanical failures of the drive mechanism, but do "volume failures" occur very frequently?
Very astute! It's rarely possible to just lose one partition & not others, but if it is HW failure on the HD, then likely all will be lost.

Actually, your Intel Mac can boot from an APM partition, you just can't install to it or do Firmware updates from it, but it saved my behind when my only IntelMac died recently & I gad everthing 10.5.8 on an APM Firewire drive, I just plugged it into my eMac & had everything available.
Of course99.9% of PPC Macs can't boot OSX from USB, & cannot run/boot 10.6.x

Actually I wanted to know whether there is any command to change the owner ship of the table.
For ex table1 belongs to user1. can the owner of table1 to be changed to owner2.
directly using an oracle command. I knew that it can be done using import and export, since the table was 200 million thought the rename command would be faster instead of import and export.

Just to clarify, the above answer is for Workspaces (url is workspaces.acrobat.com), which is the legacy form of Acrobat.com. It should also be noted, to move files in workspaces, you can simply drag/drop files to the folder you want to move them to. You can select multiple files using control + shift key or control+A to select all
However, if you are referring to the cloud storage solution Acrobat.com (url is files.acrobat.com):
Select the files you want to move
After selecting the file(s) a tool bar will display
Click on the Move tool and choose your destination folder in the move dialog

I would like to move a file from one folder to another within Lightroom 3 (let's not discuss why). I searched the threads but couldn't find the answer (maybe I missed it). When I click on a photo within grid view then drag and drop that file onto a different folder in the folder panel (to do the move), a little plus sign (copy) appears and a copy of the file is placed in the second folder. If I try to delete the photo from the original folder (to get the move), both copies of the file are removed. I've tried holding down all sorts of keys on the imac but cannot get the move to work. Ideally, I'd like to move a group of photos but cannot even move one. Does anyone know how to move files between folders in Lightroom 3?

Why you want to move dashboard one user to another user is not clear your requirement.
I have few ideas please try it. I am not sure this is what you’re looking so far.
1. We can try to move the dashboard manually through FTP software like (Winscp) this is Linux and UNIX.
Are you trying move dashboard in windows, we have only one option through catalog manager we can move to dashboard, if you getting any error please post me we try to help out this.
2. We can give dashboard access to both users then both users can able to see the dashboard page.

Applications folder is empty within User folder

Hi,
this is probably a simple one, but I just noticed that in the root Applications folder, all my apps are there, but the Applications folder within my User folder is empty. It doesn't seem to affect my using any apps, just thought they'd also show up in my User folder.

in the root Applications folder, all my apps are there, but the Applications folder within my User folder is empty.The "root Applications folder" contains applications available for all user accounts to use. If you have an Applications folder in your User folder (I, for one, don't) it is for your own private applications. If you don't have any, you can delete that folder if you wish (but check there are no other files, eg support files or application "helper" folders, in there first).

If you are using OS X Mountain Lion v10.8, syncing notes through iTunes is no longer supported and is only done through iCloud or other cloud syncing options. If you are using OS X Lion v10.7 then follow the second article below

Other way of achieving this is to create a repository service which listens to the publish event. You can write the code to move document in the received method of repository service. If any document is published, event will be triggered and the service will be invoked, the code to move the document will be executed.
