Home Hub 5 flash green light.

Our internet has been dropping out a bit lately and getting home today now all that is happening is the light on our hub is flashing green constantly. We've restarted the hub a couple times both turning it on and off and unplugging and plugging it back in again but no luck. Any suggestions? Thanks

I suggest you try a factory reset of the hub

  • Help with flashing green light on Express

I am trying to set up an airport express in my office to use with my a windows laptop and my iPhone. I had it working yesterday and took it home to set up a home profile on it. Everything was working fine in both places. Today when I plugged it in it went to a steady green for a second or two then amber while it booted as usual but then to a rapid flashing green. I tried everything I can think of including resets and it still does the same thing. It keeps flashing green and never appears in my network lists. Any ideas?

The rapid flashing green light has happened 3 times to me since I first set up my Airport Extreme in fall 2007. The problem is always fixed by unplugging the LAN cable that connects through my hardwire network to my Airport Express. If I plug the LAN cable back, the rapid green returns and I can't access the network. Unplug it, and voila, the network is back. (I only encounter the problem when I have unplugged the Extreme and plugged it back in - if I leave it alone it is fine).
I think the problem is a conflict in my Airport Express being set to act as a wireless bridge by my computer-tech friend, but I had it set up to be hardwired in the network so as to never lose my iTunes to hi-fi connection if there was a wireless problem. I've yet to sit down to resolve the Express issue; however, I suspect that if your case is similar, the Extreme is in conflict with another network device. If you can isolate it the network to just your Internet connection and Extreme, see if that solves it.
    Good luck.

  • TS3048 my wireless mouse is not working at all. I have changed the batteries and still nothing, not even a flashing green light. I am using someone else's computer to ask these questions as I now can't use mine. Help!!!

my wireless mouse is not working at all. I have changed the batteries and still nothing, not even a flashing green light. I am using someone else's computer to ask these questions as I now can't use mine. Help!!!

I just had the same problem. And I found the solution, on Youtube.
The problem is that these ******** at apple designed the battery compartement, the distance between metal contacts too big.
That means the batteries plus or minus poles are not touching the corresponding contacts in the mouses battery compartement.
Most likely the battery doesn't get pushed up to touch the plus contacts.
I used a fingernail to push the battery up and tadaa, the green LED came on.
The guy in the Youtube video just put some folded aluminium foil under the minus poles for bridging the gap.
See here, "How to fix the Apple Magic Mouse!":

    Hope this helps.

My ipod shuffle 2nd gen suddenly stops playing music after 15-20 mins.First it flashes green light and then flashes red light rapidly. Any solution to this ?

A 2nd gen shuffle is about six year old at this point.  The likely cause is a battery that is worn out, with greatly reduced capacity or inability to hold a charge.  The initial green light shows a good charge.  The red light means the battery is drained.
Since the shuffle still appears in iTunes, you can try doing a Restore in case the cause is related to corrupted software on the shuffle.  The Restore button is on the shuffle's Settings screen in iTunes.  This will erase the shuffle, re-install its software, and set it to default settings.
Also, when the light becomes red and the shuffle stops playing, try turning OFF the shuffle for at least ten seconds.  Then, turn it back ON.  This resets the shuffle.  Does it play again?  If it does, let it play until it no longer plays again.  Repeat turning it OFF and ON until it no longer plays.  Then, connect it to power and charge it to full.  See if that makes any difference.
If that does not help, the solution is to replace the battery.  If you have a repair shop do it, the cost is probably uneconomical, compared to the cost of a brand new 4th gen shuffle ($50) that has more features, and a new set of headphones, plus a one-year warranty.
If you are good at such things, this web site has repair guides

  • Home hub 3 orange power light and speed problem

Hi, I have posted this again as I think I posted in the wrong place last time being new to the site!
Hi, I have a Home Hub 3 Version A. Orange power light constantly on.
I came across this site while looking for answers and quickly registered to post this.
I have tried all suggestions including a neighbours power supply (Version A as well) to no avail.
    Background to help with replies.
I have been had option 3 since 2003.
In that time I have had
    H H 1 (failed)
    H H 1 replacement (failed)
Netgear – weak wireless and does not like Vodafone suresignal
    H H 2 constant dropouts
    Back to Netgear
    H H 3 Version A lasted 24hrs
    Back to Netgear.
For the last 5 months we have been having line problems, regular dropouts.
BT Openreach have been out 4 times, changed virtually everything and traced line back to Exchange.
The last engineers conclusion was line at my home is capable of 12meg and was being throttled as he called it to around 6meg.
He suggested trying a H H 3 and contacting BT for line to be opened up.
    For two reasons.
With a faster speed line fault would be easier to locate.
Line was capable of so much more.
Several LONG calls to BT answering all the format questions first, (to be fair 0800 so no cost) each time first being told my speed was within contract stated speeds, then after my explanation regarding BT Openreach engineers views I was told an engineer would be contacted to improve line speed.
    Needless to say nothing happened.
The frustrating point being each new call generated the same response – NOTHING on their system to show a previous call had been made by me.
Hence the reason for this post.
I feel the helpline, whilst free, achieves nothing except a long time on the phone answering repetitive questions answered before.
I am loathe to phone again as I will undoubtedly be told there is no record of any previous calls or action and I want to resolve the H H 3 Version A problem so it can be used.
    Any help appreciated

Hi John46 and thanks for the reply.
    Can't try H H 3 it is dead.
i saw somewhere on the forums when i first found you about a route that simplifies action from BT.
Have looked since and cannot locate it.
Do you know where it is?
With the Netgear which I have no option but to use,

Thank you for pointing me to the test, even if I had a game with Java before I could use it (New PC)!
As I read the results I am under 8meg. Openreach engineer said line was being 'throttled' as it was capable of circa 12meg this distance from the exchange. I am meant to be on 20meg contract.
    Chhers,
I will watch out for a reply.
Any pointers on the H H 3 complaint route would be appreciated, i am begining to think I imagined it!!!
ps Where is the rating star? I can't see it here ?

  • Ipod keeps giving me the flashing Green light when connected.

I think my first gen shuffle is dead. It's the long white one with the built in USB port. It connects via USB and when I plug it into the computer the computer doesn't recognize it at all. It completely ignores the ipod, the green light on the front of the ipod is flashing continuously. Any ideas? Itunes or Windows won't see the ipod. I'm stumped.

Nevermind people. I figured out what it was. I had got a new usb cable and I've been trying to plug the shuffle into it and it never would work. Well I tried plugging the shuffle into the usb port itself and it still didn't work. But just for **** and giggles I dug out my old usb cable and sure enough my computer and itunes will see the ipod. It's weird cause the new usb cable worked earlier today with my little cousin's ipod. I don't understand why it won't work with mine and I really don't care. I'll keep using the old one. Thanks away guys.

  • Macbook Pro Mid 2014 Retina Flashing green light on charger when fully charged (macbook turned off or lid closed)

    Hi there,
Just got a Macbook Pro Retina Mid 2014. I have noticed that when the Macbook is turned off or the lid is closed the green light on the charger is blinking. It seems it does this when the Macbook Pro is fully charged and I am not sure if it is a fault with the charger or if it just does this when its fully charged? When the laptop is open and plugged in it doesn't do this.

You tried the SMC Rest right?

  • Homehub5 bug? It reboots (flashing green light) ev...

I have had problems with WIFI stability on my Homehub5 ever since I have had it (when Infinity was provided about 3 weeks ago). But yesterday I noticed a url for a particular Internet Radio site causes a reboot. THis is completely reproducable (I've tried this 5 or 6 times) and occurs whether I try to url from my PC WMA application, or from a Logitech Squeezebox device. The url is as follows:
    This url: http://www.play.cz/radio/croddur192.asx
This to me this strongly indicates a Homehub5 issue - even if the radio station were sending malformed packets, or my PC laptop were sending malformed IP packets/Ethernet frames - this should the Homehub5 to react in this way.

Try a factory reset of the home hub.

  • My MacBook pro won't charge and I have a flashing green light?

I have not used my MacBook for a couple of days n today realised it needed charging when I come to use it so I plugged it in. I get a green flashing light but it won't charge, what seems to be the problem? I have only had it since April so can't see it being the mac is it the charger itself? Please help!

Do a SMC and a PRAM reset, if that doesn't resolve the issues, look at the MagSafe links.

If all that fails, then take it in.

  • What Does Flashing Green Power Cord Light Mean?

Today, my MacBook Pro Retina charging cord started showing a flashing green light on the mag-safe connector.  What does this mean and how can I fix it?

This sounds like some sort of power issue.
Are you using the 3 prong plug or the 2 prong (dusk head)? If you are using the dusk head try the 3 prong.
You can try a SMC reset:
Intel-based Macs: Resetting the System Management Controller (SMC)
Also read thru this and check all that it suggests:
    Apple Portables: Troubleshooting MagSafe adapters
    Check/clean pins/sockets
If still no joy there may a damaged conductor in the cable/attachment to the brick issue.
You can take it to an Apple Genius bar for a free diagnosis/evaluation, bring both the computer and the power supply.
Make an appointment first, as they can be quite busy:
